I very rarely give a reastaurant an excellent review however, this restaurant deserves if. We went with 5 other friends for a birthday lunch. What a treat. The food was wonderful, especially the shared lamb and the shared rabbit. The rabbit was perfect and thoroughly enjoyable. Both the lamb and rabbit were served at the table which was a lovely touch. The wine was great and very reasonably priced and the desserts were wonderful (even my husband, who isn’t a dessert person enjoyed them). The service was also very good. This restaurant deserves its Michelin recommendation and I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

The Empire Room

25/02/2019: Saturday lunch. Nice dining room in the basement of the Royal Harbour Hotel so no sea views just a comfortable room with well spaced tables. Throughout lunch the service was excellent, no rush, no delays, no fuss. The food was all very very good and we couldn't fault it except my wife thought her main course portion was too generous. All provided at a very reasonable price. We will return
22/11/2018: We went Saturday night for dinner as we were staying in the harbour hotel . It was lovely , i had scotch egg starter and pork fillet on cabbage and mash main , wife had beetroot and goats cheese starter and vegetable curry main couldn’t manage a desert we were stuffed . Will definitely go again when we next stay at the royal. Wish I took my phone to dinner as the food was very presentable and could of put it on here .

The Parlour

07/11/2018: I am not surprised this restaurant gets an overall excellent rating. We were ladies that lunch today and it was wonderful. Their scampi is not the norm, it is so tasty with home made tartar sauce, a delicious salad with naughty fat chips. Excellent. My friend who suggested the venue had their homemade shepherds pie which she devoured. Puds were gorgeous, service with a smile. Traditional cuisine, very good value. To be highly recommended
11/04/2019: In Birchington for the weekend and found this on TA. Glad we visited. Quaint little place, nicely decorated. Clearly popular with local people too as it seemed many 'regulars' came in. Partner and I both had a sandwich. Really nice bread, plenty of filling. If I was local I would be going back.
