The Coppa Dolla Inn and Restaurant in Teignbridge

I visited this pub with my friends on two occasions over a weekend and wanted a welcome break from children. Im sorry to say that its not acceptable to have a child wandering around the pub whilst customers are eating. I.m not sure whether it was the same child, but a very rude woman tried to keep her in line and looked at us like dirt. This environment is not suitable for free spriited kids and their rude mums. We will not be visiting again as may as well have a take out in. a playgroup.Such a shame as the food was very tasty and manager very pleasant.

Beautiful, quaint setting with olde worlde pub decor. Dog friendly, people friendly. Service was great, the food was smashing - the world famous 2 in 1 pie is worth the accolades.

We were staying nearby for our honeymoon and looked on trip advisor for local restaurants to visit. We found this place which appeared to be exactly what we were after with great reviews, and we were not disappointed. We both had the steak and ale pie with cauliflower cheese. Proper home cooked food and the service was great and welcoming from the moment we walked through the door. We took our 2 year old cockapoo with us as well. When we phoned to reserve we were told that well behaved dogs kept on a lead were allowed in the bar area. All the staff were great, and we will definitely be visiting again when we come down to Dartmouth in September. Would definitely recommend.

Great selection of pies and drinks and good prices. Pies available in small medium or large size served with baguette or veg (yummy cheesy leeks!). Nice country pub setting. I had the vegetarian pie (potato, spinach and leek) with cauliflower cheese, was so tasty! All my friends enjoyed their meat pies too as well as sides of roast potatoes. Puddings are homemade and yummy! Quick and friendly service. Overall a lovely place to visit for a homely environment and hot yummy homemade pies!

Great food and service! Ordered the pies, a side and desserts and all the food was amazing, service also very good.

Our first time visit and it was great the welcome warm and friendly from the host. We had the steak and ale pie and the steak and mushroom and they were both delicious along side the cauliflower cheese great combo,we also had pudding that was equally as good we will be back.

We had our first meal post lockdown at the Coppa Dolla and we can honestly say it was the best decision we ever made. The 2 in 1 pies are amazing, we had the roast chicken and the steak and ale. They were delicious! The staff are super friendly and make sure you have everything you need. We will certainly be back!Matt and Anna

Came with four of my friends last night and for our first visit to Coppa Dolla and will 100% be back!! Really attentive and friendly staff, unreal food and a very cosy atmosphere!

Finally we managed to book a table, I can see why, from the moment we walked in, the staff were polite & very attentive all very friendly, the pies were everything and more that we had heard so much about, what a great concept, the pub is very quirky we can’t wait to go again thank you for a memorable 1st visit

The team looked after us wonderfully- friendly, efficient , perfect.The food is about more than the pie as the vegetables and roasties are fab. But centre stage is the pie concept: half a crust topped Pie and half cauliflower cheese( you can choose a full pie instead). We had two different steak pies and a chicken and tarragon . All half and halves. Superb. Great ingredients, wonderfully cooked and served straight from the oven. You can choose small, medium or large- most seem to go medium, but a hungry person can cope with large!!Great concept and executed to perfection- bravo!

This was our first visit to the Coppa Dolla in probably nine years, and I'm pleased to say that it as good as ever. We were annual visitors to the region back in the late 90s early 00's and this was a place we always visited, when James's father ran it, and his sister worked the recipes in the kitchen. It's so good to see that James has continued the good work, and kept his sisters recipe's going, why change perfection?? My wife opted for the Chicken & Tarragon 2in1 pie (half pie filling with crust, half cauliflower cheese) , and I went for the Beef & Red Wine complete pie. These have got to be tasted to be believed!! This will remain one of our all time favourite places, and James, when are you opening a London branch??

This quaint quintessential pub is very charming. The welcome from the landlord was friendly. He was attentive and explained the famous pies perfectly. If you like red wines, they are fairly limited if purchasing by the glass, Shiraz or Merlot . Slightly disappointing, but that’s personal preference. This place is extremely busy and pre booking is a must. The desserts were beautifully executed, sticky toffee pudding, banoffee pie. Scrumptious. Waitress was very helpful. The village which this pub sits in is small and the car park seems spacious if you arrive early evening (5.45))pm. But with most MPV’s this will fill up pretty quickly. The garden is pretty with tables for outdoor seating. I will absolutely return here. A big thumbs up . Excellent

Lovely pub family visit.Pies were great, lovely accompanying vegetables and roast potatoes.Staff and landlord all very friendly, conscientious and accommodating.You will need to book in advance they were so popular the phone didn’t stop ringing!I would advise you head there early as parking can be a bit tricky and prepare to head up some narrow roads to get there.Overall great experience!

My girlfriend and I had date night at the Coppa dolla, from the start it was perfect! James is a top landlord who couldn’t do enough to help, the food was amazing, the beer was great and the pub is very cosy and friendly. We were the last people in the pub and James introduced us to the landlord and landlady of the other pub in the village, amazing night, will definitely come back!

James and his team are doing a great job on serving takeaway pies.Must say the standard of the pies are exceptional as well of course the flavour.Can not thank you enough for the service you are providing and the quality of your pies.Truly excellent.

Country lane jolly for the 2:1 pieYet again, I take my hat off to this lovely couple who run my favourite pub. We would struggle during this time without the famous 2:1 pie. A leisurely drive through the country lanes adds to the pleasure of picking up our pies. We had five in total and all were delicious. I had the steak and ale and my partner had the steak and Stilton. We parked in the car park and waited our turn. The attractive hostess called us over with a brimming welcome, placed the pies in our box, I paid by contactless. It was all very Corona friendly. We visit this pub regularly, miss our banter with James but these two still make it something special in the hardest of times. We had our pies in our PJs with some of our own veg. Keep going please.

So happy to see on Facebook that my favourite pub was doing pie pick ups. This great couple are always enthusiastic even in a crisis. We ordered our pies on Facebook just in time and were given a two hour slot. We had to go to the door individually whereby James’ wife (Katherine) fully explained how to cook the pies whilst James prepared the order. Yet again, you don’t let us down . The pies were served in a foil container which we cooked at home. My family were so excited . I got the night off cooking, no dishes and just a car ride from Torquay which was well worth it. Thanks guys for the opportunity to have pies in our home during this crazy time.

Just the best pie. Unbeatable pies purely down to the half and half aspect. Loads of choice of fillings, nice quiet pub with an open fire and friendly staff. Good place to get a decent pint too. Love this place

Superb! Wish I lived closer. After long windy lanes and sat nav issues, we found this little beauty of a pub with its pies. This was everything I wanted in a pub, away from the city, a brilliant manageress/owner and tasty, moorish pies. I’m not a cauliflower cheese lover but was recommended to have the Coppa speciality. I’m now converted and only wish I lived nearer. I left feeling full to the brim after eating the garlic bread, pie and pudding . I wanted it all! I work in hospitality and would use this place as a measure of how customers should be treated. Simply astounded by how this busy little pub was run with its simply concept. See you very soon.

This very old pub in the country must be on your bucket list of places to eat. We went with friends for Sunday lunch and were so impressed by the welcome, the place and of course the food. We sat by the fire, drank wine and had the most delicious 2 in 1 pie which was a dish with pie and cauliflower cheese. The service was by far the best I have come across for a long time. The lady who was front of house did everything from welcome us, take our orders, serve our drinks and explain the Naughty Board. We couldn't believe how such a busy pub was successfully run by one person with a great personality and rapport with all of the customers.I had the Steak and ale which was really tasty and I highly recommend it. My partner had the lamb. We all had the banoffee and chocolate brownies. Everything was just perfect. Please please go to this pub and enjoy the drive.

After being home for two weeks, I visited my usual favourite place to find the food was very good but the level of service was not the same. The usual smiley friendly welcome has been replaced by very young disinterested, scruffy non communicative staff. On both visits the bar staff were grubby looking dressed in dirty jeans and were clearly not interested in making conversation or checking that we were enjoying our meal. The pies came out very hot and were up to the usual standard. This year I’ve been many times and have enjoyed every aspect . Sorry to say that it’s lost the touch it once had .

We came here on a Sunday lunchtime. The pie was delicious, really tasty, and the portion size was just right. Loved the combo of pie and cauliflower cheese. Just what was needed on a cold and wet January day. We couldn’t fault the service, the manager was friendly and attentive and our waitress couldn’t do enough. Will definitely be going back.

Went here for lunch on a Sunday. Heard lots of good things about it, but I’m not really a pie lover...I do love cauliflower cheese though, so figured if all else failed, I’d just have that half of the pie. I needn’t have worried. The pie was amazing. I’m a veggie and there were a couple of veggie choices so I went for the homity pie. YUM! The cauliflower cheese half was delightful. OH had a steak and ale full pie (no cauli cheese) and to say it was full would be an understatement! He’s never been beaten by a pie before...until we went here! He said it was amazing though. We had some cheesy garlic bread for starters - goodness me, so good! And we shared a banoffee cheesecake for afters. All absolutely delicious. If you’ve not been here, GO!

We were told to come here for the two in one pies by friends so we bought our parents for a treat. It was November and as we hadn’t been here before we found it difficult to find as our sat nav took us to a flooded road. Anyway lovely looking pub/ restaurant with an oldEngland feel. We ordered 3x large pies and one medium for mother. The pies weren’t as big as I thought they would be but absolutely delicious. There was a slight mix up with one of the fillings ordered so we were given a small pie in place which was a nice gesture. I’m not sure who would order a small pie as it wouldn’t be enough for my 10

I can’t recommend this village pub enough . The welcome from the staff from start s not something I’ve experienced elsewhere. The turkey and ham and homity and all the other pies on our table were so tasty, with a generous serving and reasonably priced. Our bill at the end for 5 people was definitely worth it. I loved sitting by the fire on a Sunday lunch with a stack of roast potatoes and a jug of gravy. The lady who runs this place is very attentive and checked that everyone was looked after and needed for nothing especially my elderly parents who were helped down the step with a big smile. We couldn’t want for more, she explained the puddings and recommended the wine with a passion and obvious belief in everything on the menu. If you want excellent pies, top service and a traditional pub in a beautiful village this is your place.

The coppa dolla inn is situated in a beautiful little village, The cosy and welcoming atmosphere it’s perfect the hospitality from the staff is top quality. The range of pies and sides was the perfect amount to choose from. The food itself was absolutely incredible I would happily say it’s the best pie I have ever eaten. I would highly recommend the coppa dolla inn and will definitely be back to try another pie.

What a great evening with friends at this amazing pub. The food was without fault - fresh, delicious, excellent quality. I had the fish pie which was just packed with big chunks of white fish and prawns and topped with yummy cheesy mash, others had the lamb, the steak and of course the Christmas special pie which I’m told was the best he’s ever eaten!! Don’t forget the cauli cheese and the great veg! As if we weren’t full enough, we were tempted by the homemade desserts - the brownies and the banoffee cheesecake seemed to be the favourites along with the Coppa Dolla mess! James and Catherine are skilled hosts and make you want to return again and again. Thanks all for a great evening!!

I'm a frequent visitor to Coppadollor bit thought I should leave a review as this place is just fantastic. The food is epic, the 2in1 pie is ingenious and the starters of goats cheese and caramelised onion are divine. To top of the fantastic food is a superbly friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The cosy fireplace is cracking and the staff are just top notch. 10 out of 10. Go here, you won't regret it for a second.

Great pies, this place is renownd for its pies. Excellent and I would recommend this. They do one 1/2 pie and cauliflower cheese.

They only do pies and fresh veg that may sound boring but trust me it's not. The phone is ringing all the rime and understandably so.

I was in Exeter on business alone, but voyaged out to this lovely little pub when I heard about their pies. The owners were lovely and kept me amused, the food was fantastic and good value. It was a great little place and I'm very glad I made the trip

It’s been some years since my last visit to the Coppa Dolla and I very much enjoyed returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our to-die-for pies, the customer service was amazing and the atmosphere was amazingly cosy and warm. At the end of the evening, we were asked (very considerately) if we would mind if the resident French bulldog, Claude, could make an appearance. As dog lovers, we didn't mind in the least; he was absolutely adorable and topped off the evening nicely!

Having lived around the South Hams for around 20 years I can’t quite believe this was my first visit. Having only just heard of this hidden gem.

Only our second visit here and again we were not disappointed. I had the game pie not quite as nice as last time, wife had steak and ale pie which was excellent ( wish i had it !) and brother in law had fish pie ( which he felt was slightly salty but still very nice) Starters of bacon and brie baguette was 10/10 and we also shared between the three of us a small nibbles. Definitely will be back.

Had lunch there on a Sunday (the only lunch time there open).nice lunch if you like home made pies.steak pies were good although fish pie was very short of the main ingredient (fish). vegetable portions offered were very small and potatoes are extra.overall glad to have gone there maybe some time before going again.

A gem of a pub. Warm and friendly welcome, good service, a cracking pint of Legend and some of the best pies (2 in 1 of course) you could find. Always consistent, never fails to please. If we have friends staying we always take then here.

My friends and I visited the Coppa Dolla on Friday night and was welcomed in by a lady who looked after us from the beginning to the end of the evening. This smart and eloquent lady explained the pies, guided us through the menu and made sure we were topped up with drinks throughout the night and we had everything we needed. We were made to feel like regulars. The evening got even better when the pies arrived.

Been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Lovely cozy pub in a little village that serves up delicious pies. It’s extremely popular and been full every time I’ve been. The 2in1 pie is truly the best pie I’ve eaten and the accompaniments just as good. Lovely cooked veg and crispy fluffy roast potatoes. Service is attentive and friendly and it’s really good value for money! Definitely give it a go!

Two in one pies- steak and ale or steak and mushroom- truly top nosh! Shortcrust pastry, proper cheesy cauliflower cheese and well cooked.

This was our second visit, and it was absolutely as brilliant as the first. Fantastic pies, the half n’ half idea works so well, and the trimmings were lovely too. Waiting staff, owner and bar staff were all very friendly and attentive too. This place is a little gem. Thanks very much!

We have been talking about going for a long time so very happy to get a table at short notice, thank you as it was busy. On arriving we were met by James and a friendly welcome. We ordered some drinks at the bar, it was nice to see more then just one cider on draft/tap. Then James showed us to our table. As it was our first time, James explained about the menu and the 2 in 1 pies. We ordered two beef and mushroom pies with veg. The food was great, just what we wanted on a lazy Sunday afternoon. We had the Sticky toffee pudding to shear and it finished the meal off perfectly. We wanted a local Sunday pub afternoon and we got it, the pub was just what we wanted and the food was brilliant. James and his team were spot on from the moment we walked in to the moment they said thank you and good goodbye. We will definitely be going back and bringing friends with us next time. Thank you James and team for a very enjoyable time.

My partner and I came here again for another amazing pie, both steak and ale with vegetables as always the food was fantastic and service up to the usual great standards, this time was exceptionally made better by the staff actually remembering us, it’s the little things like this that make us want to come back. Wonderful place, great looking pub inside and outside. Service was excellent and could not fault. Food amazing and we had a lovely evening. Only one thing, it was a little cold in pub for me. We all really enjoyed the evening and were made to feel welcome right from the start. It was my daughters birthday night and everything was perfect . The pies and the sides we ordered were all lovely . Sorry about the confusion with the bill , but that was due to the birthday girl not being able to add up. It’s worth the drive down the lanes we will definitely be back

Spent a great evening at the Coppa Dolla and simply enjoyed an outstanding meal. Reservations are a must or you will be disappointed in this popular restaurant. Although it’s a simple menu based on pies you will love them. All made to order you can have a choice of 3 pie sizes and the option to try the half and half (filling and cauliflower cheese) or just pie. Each pie comes with a baguette or veg. We had a duo fish pie, full game pie and steak and ale. They were all fantastic. The cheesy mash was a super add on.

Perfect from the minute we arrived, from the pretty garden right through to the welcome, service, beautiful traditional interior with all its nooks & crannies, menu & quality of the pies; simply brilliant. Thoroughly recommend it. Well done James for keeping it authentic & being so genuine, we'll be back

Visited here for the first time monday 19th august and wasnt dissapointed, had a bacon and brie garlic bread as had seen other reviews mention it and honestly was the best thing ive had.. until the pies came i had lamb and my partner Turkey and ham with the 1/2 + 1/2 califlower cheese EVERYTHING was perfect! Food/hosts/atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon :)

This was my second visit here and managed to get a last minute booking. All the staff are very warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxing even though they were very busy and I can see why. The food was fantastic! Best cauliflower and cheese I’ve had and I would recommend the lamb pie. I’m not a lover of pie because all the pastry but the 2 in 1 is genius! Huge shout out to James who couldn’t have done more for any one in the restaurant if he tried, also the lady behind the bar was very friendly. They even do take away pies to cook later! Will certainly be visiting again and recommending to everyone. Thank you for making our visit memorable.

I've been here several times and the food is fantastic. The 2 in 1 press are brilliant! I only wish i could bring my mum, but as she is in a wheelchair, it is sadly impossible, but this is not the fault of the owners, the beautiful old building is listedso cannot be adapted.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here during our trip down from Durham.... lovely staff all working hard and quite possibly the best pies we’ve tried!

The game pie is AMAZING!!!! What more can you want than a half and half pie, one half pie the other half cauliflower cheese. Lovely pub and staff - best to book to avoid disappointment as unsurprisingly they can be busy! Don't forget to order your takeaway uncooked pies to enjoy at home! We turned up on the off chance that a table would be available on a Sunday lunchtime, the landlord was so welcoming and friendly, it was very busy but we were able to sit outside in the lovely garden area. The pies are amazing, I had the chicken and tarragon, my partner had the turkey and ham, so impressed with all the food, even the children's menu was great and so refreshing not to see chips or pizza for a change. We will definitely be returning, so many different pies I need to try! However, due to the popularity of the place we will be booking next time!

We found the Coppa Dolla by chance, turned up without a reservation and had such a warm greeting - hospitality excellent and really good food - highly recommend - advisable to book table - can’t wait for next visit 😊

Visited this quaint little pub on a Monday evening. Great atmosphere, staff were friendly and helpful. The pies were delicious and we followed with a shared banofee pie. Absolutely stuffed....will definitely go back next time I'm in glorious Devon.

The food here is fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely. We have come twice now and will be visiting again soon. The portion sizes are amazing and the different fillings are so tasty I could not fault them at all. Beautiful meal and would recommend to anyone to visit this inn but booking is recommended because it is very popular and for good reason.

I much prefer places that know their strengths and play to them. Much better to offer only pies if that’s what you are good at and these folks are certainly very good at making them. They are in a dish with just a pastry lid so the filling has plenty of tasty gravy/sauce to accompany the generous portion of meat. Good fresh veg accompaniment. The puddings were unfortunately a disappointment- sticky toffee pudding was a bit dry and cold. Chocolate brownie very average. Friendly and helpful service. Would happily go again but wouldn’t have pudding.

First time visit last night for myself and 3 friends.

I took my dad here for Father's Day today. Neither of us had been before so we thought we'd try it as we'd heard about their amazing pies. We both absolutely loved everything about this gem of a place. Every single member of staff was happy, friendly, and the service was brilliant. I had the half and half steak and mushroom pie. The meat was so tender, and the pastry top was beautiful. We had some extra roast potatoes and gravy which was lovely rich and thick. It is proper traditional comfort food with a twist. We couldn't say no to some homemade puds either, so I had the banoffee pie. I got a lovely big piece! My dad had the brownie which looked equally as tasty. We will 100% be returning. They don't have many places like this anymore which have really great food and staff. Thank you so much for making Father's Day special for me and my dad.

I have been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time whether with a group of friends or family. Came here for my sons 13th birthday as he loves his pies. As usual a perfect meal. Service was great and a great all round pub .

An amazing British pub hidden away in the British countryside with outstanding food and lovely staff. While yes the menu is restricted to mainly Pies you know this before you go, and you will not be disappointed. It was possibly the best pie I have ever had and can't wait to return to try the other flavours. The portions are huge, the medium was more than enough. A little pricey considering it was just a pie but we did endulge in sides 2hich we couldn't fit in our stomachs.

What a fantastic dinner and what a lovely little pub! Their speciality is 2-in-1 pies which is a pie dish half filled with cauliflower cheese and half as a pie with your choice of filling from a long list. This comes as small, medium or large and then with either mixed vegetables or a baguette on the side.....we both went for medium so that we could enjoy the equally delicious deserts! Staff were extremely friendly and attentive enough whilst at the same time leaving you to enjoy both the food and surroundings. Would definitely recommend this place and will certainly be returning but highly recommend making a reservation rather than just turning up as you could be very disappointed!

Managed to book a table for two early on a Saturday evening after too long an absence and what a very pleasant experience it was. I have rarely "awarded" any establishment an excellent rating across all aspects of quality, service and value, but am delighted to rectify this with the Coppa.

My partner booked here for our anniversary on Friday 19th. I wasn't sure as I don't have a huge appetite but it was incredible. They have 3 size pies which were amazing! I had the small and bf had large and we both loved it! One of the owners described the home made puds in the best M&S; style was and they did not dissapoint! We had three courses and it was so reasonable for gorgeous food! 100% would recommend!

We arrived and was greeted as soon as we walking in. Shown to our table and left to look at the menu. As we have been here before the menu didn’t need explaining

Have visited twice now and been impressed both times. Lovely cosy pub with a nice outdoor area too. The 2 in 1 pies are really good, the chicken and tarragon/mustard one was particularly tasty. Staff are friendly, prices aren’t bad and portions are generous - can’t go wrong! Will definitely return.

I’m in love with everything about this traditional pub.. I went with a group of friends on a Saturday night for the famous pies. We all asked for a different one and they were all incredible. The staff were very attentive and the hostess run a slick operation at the same time as looking after us really well. You must ask for the mouthwatering pudding descriptions and try all of them. We did find the car park really busy but it’s obvious as to why. I highly recommend such a find. I will be bringing all my friends.

Again visited and was again extremely impressed! Yet again the hour drive to this gem from Sidmouth was definitely worth it. Staff always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for. Food is excellent and you leave feeling very satisfied without having spent a fortune. Keep up the good work and thanks again guys you will be seeing us again soon.

We had a lovely time , the starters were enormous and delicious, The pies were really tasty and the puddings fab. All the staff are lovely and work very hard, the place was really busy which shows how good the food is, and very good value

I cannot rate this village pub enough. A complete newcomer to the Coppa Dolla with my family on Mother's Day and I was taken back by the outstanding food and service. We are still talking about it ! On arrival we were greeted by a very professional lady who appeared to spend the lunchtime making sure everyone had the best possible mothers day and enjoyed ultimate experience of the 2:1 pie. From the outset we were met with outstanding service followed by the best pies we could imagine. The landlord and lady clearly know how to run a very popular place. The pie, cauliflower cheese and vegetables were the tastiest combination. My mum had the best day ever, thanks to the staff. I recommend this place to future customers and pubs to see a place should be ran.

We turned up late through the week but it was fully booked. We got back in the car but the manager came out and told us that there was a space. I enjoyed my 50/50 cauliflower cheese and steak pie. I also had extra veg. Nice relaxing atmosphere, real roaring fire on. Beautiful.

I have been told to visit Coppa Dolla many, many times over the years, I'm just dissapointed it took me this long! Incredible food and such a lovely crew of staff. New bucket list item is to try every pie!

I have visited the Coppa Dolla twice now and it is perfect!! Last time I came with my 10week old puppy which was no issue at all!! The pies are so tasty (you won’t find any better) and the staff are very friendly! Can’t wait to come back!!

Have been here a few times now and can't wait for our next visit. Really lovely unspoilt old fashioned pub complete with very welcoming staff and landlord. Have only ever been here in winter with crackling log fire but understand there is a nice beer garden for warm sunny weather and my husband can vouch that the beer is kept well and is very good. The menu is quite simple, mainly pies but the pies are amazing: lots of different fillings (sometimes specials are on offer), 3 different individual sizes, choice of complete pie or half pie half cauliflower cheese (really scrummy) with a choice of a side of assorted vegetables or a baguette. Puds are good to. Extremely well worth a visit.

We went as a family party of 5 for a birthday meal. I too have lived in this area for my whole life and never eaten there before; I'm glad I have now. The menu options are relatively limited (pies) but done really well. We opted out of starters and went for the pies. They do a 2 in 1, which has a variety of fill options in one side with cauliflower cheese in the other. I'm not a fan of this so went for the full medium steak & mushroom option. So tasty. I have read a couple of poor reviews about this place which are obviously malicious ( microwaved, soggy pastry etc.). Don't believe any of it. The staff are great, the service is attentive and friendly and they go to some lengths to make sure that you are getting what you want. Desserts; I'd recommend the lemon drizzle.You need to book in advance because the place is not big and it is justifiably popular. An excellent evening with no reservations about anything at all. I hope to be back, my partner will be back with a staff evening out as soon as they can organise it.

Can't believe I've lived in the area all my life and missed this gem! Visited for supper a couple of weeks ago and oh my gosh! Best pie ever! Cosy atmosphere and a very warm welcome, too. Wonderful, friendly service. I've just booked in for Mothers Day lunch to share the secret with the folks and I can't wait! :-)

My second visit here and once again spectacular food in a perfect setting. The restaurant itself is small and friendly. Lovely open fire really welcomes you in and the staff are relaxed and friendly. The food is something else. My lamb 2 in 1 pie was delicious. My partner had the steak and ale which was just as good. My wandering fork walked over and tasted it! The veg that comes with your pie is really tasty as well. Most restaurants massacre veg but these guys know how to keep the flavours in. Rounded off with roast potatoes and extra gravy, we both had medium size pies and were stuffed. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Me and my partner absolutely love this restaurant and try and go every few months, the pies are quite possibly the best we have ever tasted, we will always be returning!

My friends and I had a fantastic time in this lovely pub. The famous 2 in 1 pie lived up to expectations. Owner James made us feel so welcome. I thoroughly recommend this pub.

First timer eating here, got taken for my birthday by daughter and son-in-law, who are both vegetarian so bit picky !!, but we were all accommodated perfectly with ample selections of excellent food. Brilliant atmosphere which added to a lovely evening. The pies are to die for and being a non veggie eater I was not disappointed with selection, I had chicken and leak with ample amounts of each and likewise with rest of the family’s choices. Will I go again, oh yes most definitely. Thanks to all staff for a lovely birthday meal, cheers
