A generou pot of tea (for two), plus a large slice coffee and walnut cake (made on the premises with free reange eggs) was delivered to our clean table. Service was prompt, polite , and friendly . Staff were dressed in uniform indicating to me that they were providing a professional serivce. The cafe was busy with most customers appearing to be local (ie happy to re-use ), and there was enough competition in the town for customers to choose from. We could see the kitchen area from our seats , which meant the staff were not hiding themselves or any poor prep areas anywhere. Very happy to return ... Thank you for a very nice service at very reasonable prices. Very relaxed atmosphere.

On the way back to the nearby car park after shopping in Wymondham we had time to sit in the courtyard of the coffee shop and enjoy excellent flat white coffee and cakes at a reasonable price

We often pop in here for coffee, they serve an excellent cappuccino. I ordered the coffee and walnut cake and my son had the victoria sandwich - both delicious. I love the Glenn Miller music playing quietly in the background. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The coffee shop is always clean and we felt very safe. Looking forward to our next visit already!

Been here twice in the last couple of weeks on a stopover and found both times to have pleasant and helpful staff, good food and reasonably priced. Would revisit again without a doubt, and would recommend to all.

After a stroll around town before heading off back towards London after an East Anglian weekend, we looked around for somewhere to have a coffee and The Coffee Shop obviously fitted the bill. It's a tiny little place and decorated in very traditional style, but the coffee and tea were both of high quality and the sausage baguette we decided to share turned out to be more than big enough for two, top quality bangers as well.Staff were friendly and considerate, the only downside was the lack of an apparent loo but there are spotless public facilities only a few steps away in the entrance to the car park.

We visited today having not been here before. It was lovely and clean. We both had a full breakfast which were very tasty and good value for money. The thing about this cafe that really made it special for me was that the young lady (with beautiful eyelashes) took the time to chat to the older visitors to the cafe who were there on their own. I'm sure you may not realise this but you will have made a difference to these people. I cannot recommend this place enough and I really like tea in a teapot so perfect.

On a miserable winter afternoon we popped in for a break from shopping to find a warm and friendly traditional tea room. We were delighted with our choices; my husband had an impressive banana filled pancake with cream AND ice cream, while I had the best fruit scone with jam and cream that I have tasted in a long time and we shared a pot of tea that provided 5 cupfuls. All this at a very reasonable price with good service. I am looking forward to repeating the experience.

This is a small establishment with a good menu suitable for lunch. They serve a very fine cup of tea with a lovely range of sandwiches, toasted sandwiches and cake suitable to whet the appetite

Called for drinks this morning. Staff were pleasant and the place was clean. Coffee was very good and reasonably priced. As it is small when busy it did get a bit noisy but better that than being on your own.

After a disappointing day church-hopping (disappointing because many of them were locked, including the Abbey well before closing time), the Coffee Shop was the first tea room I came across walking into Wymondham. I was warmly welcomed, even though I walked in just before their rough closing time. The cafe was ecclecticly decorated in very bad taste, and everything marked up with flourescent star-shaped cardboard labels, and the tables were covered with oil clothes.I thought it was marvellous; just as if I had be teleported back into the 1950s. I was wondering whether it was an intentional decision to go retro, but I think it was rather genuine neglect of taste and fashion, which made me appreciate it even more. There were 3 other tables in use, a quiet couple, a talkative group of three and an individual eating a meal, who rushed out of the shop to talk with someone she knew on the street, returning to her now no doubt cold plate later. The random rural Norfolk I know and love. The cakes looked like they were from the 1950s as well, and tasted delicious, just like my granny's cakes.I enjoyed every minute of it, and I very look forward to going again. I am so glad simple, wholesome places like this still exist.

I was overcharged for a pot of tea on its own this morning. The menu clearly listed a pot of loose leaf tea at £1.60. I was charged £1.70.

Called in for a light lunch. we had the ploughman's plus drinks. The meals were good sized portions and seemed nice and fresh. The staff were friendly and the surroundings very simple but pleasant with the seating overlooking the main road through the town.

When me and a friend recently decided to nip in for coffee and cake we were left a little disappointed. Both our cakes were dry and slightly stale. And both our coffees were not great at all. We ordered a flat white which come out very frothy. Looked like a cappuccino, but under the froth it was a milky latte. I feel that whatever coffee we would have ordered, it would be the same outcome. I think if a coffee shop is going to call themselves THE COFFEE SHOP, you’ll need your baristas to know their stuff. I could even hear the barista frying the hell out of my milk before it had even come. The cake I understand as you can’t make them fresh everyday, but the coffee is made on the spot. I think your baristas need some training!

I visited on my own. It was table service. Nice friendly staff. Freshly baked home made scones and cakes. Table cloths and chairs very dated but the tables were all with fresh flowers which was a nice touch. Nice bone china cups used. Would recommend for a coffee and bite to eat.

There's a definite retro feel here, with table service, classic cutlery and vintage music. The food all looked excellent, tables were clean and our plates were taken away at the right moment when we were done. Prices were very good value, would definitely recommend.

We have visited here for years and this place has been taken over. This is our first visit with new owners and very disappointed breakfast baguettes are really firm and crunchy, over filled and it looks like they may no longer be using local butchers sausages. Scrambled egg comes as a microwaved blob and wife says Luke warm beans. Sadly a great place is not great anymore much room for improvement.

Called for a drink mid afternoon and was tempted by the cream tea. Scone was warm (lovely) and there was butter as well as cream, and strawberry jam. My tea was in a pot and my husband had a coffee.

Stopping over in Diss for lunch on the way to the Suffolk coast, came across this cafe, looked inviting enough, with spaces inside. Coffee was very good - cappucchino and americano, and the New Yorker sandwich was wholesome tasty and very satisfying. Friendly service noted. Recommended!

I thought afternoon tea here would be something special to celebrate a birthday but unfortunately it wasn't. The table we were allocated was right next to the counter where people stood drinking, chatting and paying (I believe they might have been staff from the business centre). When I commented on this to a member of staff she said they would soon be gone, but then more came and stood there for some considerable time. The table was undecorated and the teapot and cups plain. One of the teaspoons was dirty and had to be replaced. There was nothing special about it whatsoever. It was just like being in a cafe which you go in for just a coffee. Not afternoon tea special at all. It was more expensive than many in the Norwich area so I thought the experience would be reflected in the price. But it clearly wasn't. The food was nice, nothing special, only 2 different filling in the sandwiches. The scones were good, the cakes ok, but again nothing special. The staff were busy but quite friendly. I would not recommend The Orangery for an afternoon tea experience. I came away feeling very let down and disappointed from what I thought was going to be an enjoyable afternoon.

I telephoned to check if dogs were welcome, and they were! We visited after a muddy trip to the woods. The staff were super accommodating and welcoming. The dog was provided with water and biscuits and we ordered the most delicious cakes, panini and hot chocolate. Unfortunately we did muddy up where we were sitting a bit but we were reassured this was absolutely not a problem. We will definitely be returning. Really lovely visit.

What a little gem this is, fantastic pastries, cakes etc Coffees and much more. I had a breakfast sourdough ciabatta with sausage and egg which I highly recommend. Staff very friendly and the there is a nice outside sitting area too. Reasonably priced for the quality food. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting the area. Added bonus the lovely rivers walks are a minute away so you can walk that lovely breakfast etc off. Oops nearly forgot dog friendly too. Thanks for a lovely breakfast see you again soon.
