Enjoyed excellent coffees while sat on the quay. Friendly staff serving the takeaways ..they serve the best coffee for miles.

Stopped for a coffee and homemade carrot cake and rocky road. Ate and drank at the quayside. Very popular and you can see why. Well organised re covid rules and smiley service. Great coffee and the cakes were spot on. 😋

Stopped by for a Coffee and breakfast. Very safe ordering system, we sat on a table by the Quayside. As always food was great and all recyclable cups etc. Definitely worth a stop. Thank you.

Spain serves some of the best coffee I've ever tasted.....this place is as good, if not better! 5* AAA with distinction. If you like coffee you'll love this place! 10/10 ;)

Absolutely fabulous chocolate and caramel gluten free cake. Nice latte and fresh tea made to your liking. Well worth a visit.

Three of us enjoyed fabulous coffee and cake today. A lovely atmosphere, even with Covid restrictions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My latte was one of the nicest I've had recently, hubby said the same. Our friend enjoyed her Mocha and bakewell tart. My chocolate and caramel cake was gorgeous as was hubby's carrot cake. Would love to return.

Great coffee and fab breakfast. We had coffee there most days of our stay. All the breakfast ingredients were excellent quality. Dog friendly downstairs and as only small has a time limit for your stay. Coffee and cake 40mins and lunch 1 hour.

Under difficult circumstance the Coffee Cabin was our usual stop in Appledore for take out sandwiches.They have a secure system for ordering and quality sandwiches are ready in good time.Crab sandwiches as good as ever and we had cheese and ham as a change.Yes it’s not the same homely atmosphere but where is during these unprecedented times.They are doing their best and we were grateful for that.

Visited a few times on my recent visit to Appledore for the Book Festival.Just noticed that things didn't seam to be the same, even taking into consideration Covid issues.Staff didn't seam as friendly and positive as before.Bearing in mind it is the famous Book Festival, it seam strange that it closes even earlier than before, going for tea mid afternoon, around 3.30 it was already closed on a Saturday afternoon!I got the feeling that Richard & Martin have taken their eye off the ball

Lovely staff and quality food. The crab sandwich is the best I’ve ever had. Good things come in small parcels- that’s the Coffee Cabin 😀 Can get takeaway if they’re full.

Went here for breakfast twice while staying in Appledore this week, very nice food and drinks, the staff are very friendly and polite about reminding people about masks/social distancing. The hot chocolate was the best I've had for ages, quite sad that we don't live locally!

Visited here with my family whilst on holiday in Devon and it became a firm favourite! Beautiful iced coffee, delicious takeaway food and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Very tasty sandwiches and the coleslaw was especially good. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Will come back for the specials which looked good and they have lots of veg options.

Good coffee and dog friendly, there is a vegan option of a mug cake, but would be good to have more vegan cakes on offer too.

Stopped by for a cream tea, cake and coffee and so glad we did! The best scones we’d had all weekend... and we’d tried a few ! Excellent cake and coffee too. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A good atmosphere and location.

We visit Appledore on average twice a year & always make a beeline for here. As soon as we sit down we are greeted like old friends & it’s like we’ve never been away. I can’t fault a single thing, the owners Richard & Martin & all of their team are so friendly, food is delicious - had 4 breakfasts during this visit, wanted each mouthful to last forever! Coffee is just the best and as for the cakes, so good, just like last year, we ordered a Victoria Sponge for Tonys Birthday. Thank you again for making us feel so welcome. See you later in the year

Delightful pitstop on a winter visit. Home made cakes were delicious. I particularly loved the decor of knitted sea creatures. Very charming and personal service. The spicy chai latte was spot on. I'd definitely recommend and go again.

We stopped here for a late lunch. Two of us had pear and melted stilton on toast which came with coleslaw, chutney and lovely side salad. 1 had poached duck eggs on pulled gammon ham with hollandaise sauce on granary toast. Everything was excellent, very tasty. Very friendly staff.

What a find. The place is a little quirky which makes it great. We had tea and cake which was excellent and very good value. We didn’t have lunch but the choice and the prices were inviting. A genuine independent. Excellent

Can't recommend highly enough. Cream teas all round. Portions were amazing and delicious. Staff friendly and really helpful. Bonus is they are dog friendly too.

We literally go most weeks for breakfast - and recommend this place to everyone- great breakfasts - all home made. The warm cheese scones with Stilton and ham are our favourite- and the chai latte ... a must visit place where dogs are welcome for top quality food and super friendly staff

Went here as a big group, we had tea, coffee, cakes and scones. You can buy locally made produce here as well. The produce seems to be all locally sourced, which is good to see.

So had coffee here on a number of occasions and breakfast on our last morning in Appledore, coffee was always good and the breakfast was terrific. A real plus for dog owners is they are happy for dogs to go into the downstairs part of the cafe. Add on good service and this place deserves its good reputation.

We stayed in Appledore for a week in September 2019 and visited The Coffee Cabin numerous times, we went for breakfast 4 times! Dog friendly and very welcoming. If it was a bit closer to home I'd be there for a full english every weekend.

We walked along the quayside looking at menus and there was plenty of choice in Appledore but we chose The Coffee Cabin as we wanted something unusual but tasty. We chose grilled stilton cheese with pears on toast with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and it was very tasty. The cafe was overflowing with people inside and out but the staff were lovely. We even managed a slice of amazing cake. Our light lunch went out the window!

Out for a walk in Appledore and although local had never adventured into the cafe.

Popped in for a snack and having looked at the menu decided on something more substantial. Was not disappointed. There is a good choice. The staff were very friendly and service very efficient. We sat outside where there are two tables. It’ ok if you don’t mind passers by seeing what you are eating. The dogs were still wet having been on the beach. When busy there is limited seating inside which means that you take pot luck. Dogs are allowed inside but it helps if they are small!!

My wife and i called in the Coffee Cabin for a drink and a sandwich, the sandwich was so big my wife had to ask for a box to take half her sandwich out with us.So be prepared to go in hungary.It is also dog friendly.

We popped in for afternoon cream tea. A very pleasant atmosphere indeed. Cream tea for 2 was ordered an quickly delivered. The scones were fresh and warm with side bowls of clotted cream and jam. Good portions too, which were quickly piled onto the scones. It was delicious. Highly recommend by me.

Continues to provide excellent service and food. Called for breakfast and then later for cake. Good variety of choice. Always an array of beautiful cakes. Service friendly and efficient even when exceptionally busy.

My partner and I called in looking for lunch. The menu was very good as were the specials. We had cheese scone with ham and a choice of cheese, toasted, with home made chutney and slaw. It was all excellent!

Stopped off for a cream tea on a rainy Monday afternoon, four adults, a toddler and a baby in a pram. It’s a small space and often busy as we have tried to get in here for a couple of days while staying in Appledore, but the staff were more than accommodating and found us a table and space to leave the pram. Lovely cream tea, and I don’t usually like scones, but while in Devon... We paid just over £10 for 2 scones and 2 hot chocolates which I thought was good value. Especially as the scones were so nice. Lovely friendly chap behind the counter too so made the experience even better!

Came after meeting a lady walking her dog in Westward Ho, she recommended the crab sandwich. We were a family of 9 and thought we would not get in, however the ladies pointed us to the upstairs (small but perfectly formed) where we managed to fit in.

Had the best crab sandwich I have ever eaten here, great friendly staff with a passion and great food.A perfect little gem and will visit again.

We went in here on a rainy afternoon and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and we found a table easily, as it wasn’t peak time. My son had a cauliflower and lentil cobbler, which he enjoyed. I had a baked potato with beans, mainly because there wasn’t much else available for vegans, which was disappointing. I would have preferred their mushrooms on toast but I wasn’t prepared to pay £6 for one slice of toast (I asked) with some mushrooms on top! The bill came to nearly £20, which included a cup of coffee and 2 soft drinks. Overall, it was a pleasant way to spend some time, but I can’t give it more than 3 stars, as it was expensive for what we had, and we thought that the menu was limited and lacked imagination and variety.

We went for lunch and were lucky to get a table downstairs (there is also seating upstairs and outside). I had the small cooked breakfast and it was excellent. We also had a daily special curry and a sausage sandwich - both good. However their ‘famed’ crab sandwich was disappointing - too much bread (a proper doorstop is their default slice), not enough meat and not enough flavour. We were also troubled with wasps as we were next to the window. I’d go back (particularly for the breakfast) but try to sit somewhere else.

We often have a coffee and snack at The Coffee Cabin today we decided to have a crab sandwich which was £10.95 a little steep but it is crab . What we received was bread sliced thickly no spread and a measly amount of crab . I really wish I’d taken a photo no taste at all . When we were asked if everything was ok we mentioned it was not very good as hardly any crab we were just told it’s the same as usual, this is definitely not the case as we had them a few times last year and they were delicious. Not very good customer service to just brush our comment aside. £20 for one coffee , coke , toast and a sandwich with very little crab in it .

We were very happy with both the coffees and the cakes we had. Seemed a friendly place. Appledore has good informal places to eat. We tried several and together they made it a very pleasant place to stay!

During our stay in Appledore, the 7 of us (me, my wife, outer three daughters and two boyfriends- don’t ask!) had breakfast every morning at the Coffee Cabin. We got in a great routine- breakfast and crosswords; my eldest daughter and I doing the Times Quick Cryptic and the others doing the “normal” Times crossword. I had a cappuccino and the small breakfast daily. Perfect. I liked that the toast was thick bread and already buttered so the butter had melted in. The eggs in ham with hollandaise sauce was also fantastic. All the food there is very clean, well presented and tasty, tasty, tasty. Downsides - not cheap, doesn’t open till 9am and can get busy.

Best cream tea we had in Devon. Delicious coffee and hot chocolates. Kids loved this place - much better than Market Street Kitchen in my opinion - thanks

I visited today. The service was prompt and friendly. I had cake ( a very slim slice) and coffee. The problem was that most of the tables had dogs in situ, or in the aisle as the space in the cafe is VERY restricted.

We always visit the Coffee Cabin when we come to Appledore. The food, service and atmosphere are all first class. The food is really delicious and all the staff are friendly and accommodating. I cannot recommend this lovely place highly enough.

Made our trip from Berkshire exciting to know we were heading straight to Appledore Quayside for breakfast brunch - and the coffee cabin was a great welcome on our North Devon mini break - we all enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and coffee. Had a lovely window seat to watch the people along the quayside and gaze at the lovely sea over to Instow. Friendly staff and lovely food - perfect!

The cabin is a lovely little pace right on the seafront, with big windows and a light interior decorated with some big canvasses.

Our first holiday in Appledore but probably not our last! This cafe is fabulous! Lovely people and magically always a table for us! Cakes, coffee and frostinos that give you brain freeze on a boiling day! What more can you want! We will be back!

Sfeervol koffiehuis met vriendelijk personeel. De koffie was lekker en de chocolade melk smaakte ook echt naar chocolade (we maken wel eens anders mee) . De glutenvrije taart is echt een aanrader, net als de rest van de taarten trouwens! Echt een plek om terug te komen.

Fabulous. We loved the pear and stilton on toast and the coffees. They also have delicious homemade cakes and very friendly staff. We love coming here when we come to Appledore!

I come here regularly as it is such a cosy, friendly cafe that serves the best coffee around. The owners personalities are infused into the place. It is easy to come here alone and just sit. Everyone is made to feel welcome. The food is simple, local and tasty. Love it x

Go get a coffee, some cake and some cheese on toast (Stilton was picked by my partner and that looked awesome!) sit down enjoy the comfy vibe of the cafe and its friendly staff. Whilst you’re at it give them a Facebook like- their live turn counter will go up on the wall (great novelty!)

The Cabin is a lovely place for a breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake, all excellent quality and the cakes are true home-made and fresh beauties. The staff are welcoming and cheerful and service is exemplary.

Family run excellence. Food is consistently good. We are regulars. You must visit here whilst you are visiting this area. And in response to the lovely review further down from tawl1504, the ‘ dirty ‘ mirror is not dirty, it’s an antique mirror and naturally looks like that.

Stumbled across this lovely establishment on my first trip to Appledore. I was impressed with the warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drink that I had. Great quality and good value for money. I shall return.

We visited twice whilst on holiday the breakfasts were awesome! Carl’s big breakfast is a beast whilst the poached egg and pulled ham on toast was delicious. Throw in some delicious smoothies and friendly, welcoming staff and you can’t go fast wrong. Definitely worth a visit.

Researched Appledore for a place to eat and this seemed to be the most interesting. We were not disappointed. Crab sandwiches, fabulous salads and savoury scones washed down with good wine. Service excellent and friendly. Lovely ambience. Two hours after lunch we returned for afternoon tea!!

I popped in for a coffee and a quick snack and want disappointed. This is a small cost cabin offering a great service to the community and visitors.

Popped in and had the Devon crab sandwiches. The bread is cut around an inch thick, but is so fresh that this is a good thing. The salad is very fresh and excellent with a nice balsamic vinegar dressing. The coleslaw is superb.

Staff are polite and decor is quaint. Even though the toilet was nice and modern, the glass panel in front was dirty. I had the crab sandwich which is worthy of all the praise and homemade salad was sensational

In Appledore for our anniversary weekend and popped into The Coffee Cabin for breakfast. The breakfast was really good, all local and tasty. The staff were friendly even though the place was very busy as the gig racing was taking place. Excellent.

Looking for a great cream tea to escape the rain but found so much more. Vegetarians well catered for in this modern cafe. The coffee is great and the cheese on toast even better. To top them all the Devon scones were excellent. Fantastic view too!

This is the 2nd time we have stopped at The Coffee Cabin for breakfast, last time was last year, I was very pleased that our visit was just as good as I'd remembered. Great assortment, everything was fresh and tasted so good. A very clean place to stop. And very dog friendly.

We went to this place twice, as we were pushed for time the first time. The coffee was delicious and we could see the food coming out, which looked so good, we went back the next day for lunch. Fab crab sandwiches and the baked potatoes looked amazing. Nice, friendly staff, as well. Well worth a visit.

Very disappointed after reading good reports of this cafe.My bacon on toast consisted of two hard overcooked pieces of bacon (still had white scum stuck to it !) on one piece of thick brown granary bread . Not even a lettuce leaf or slice of tomato with it .

Stumbled into the Coffee Cabin by accident, a fortuitous choice. My partner Had their Devon Crab sandwich which was good enough to get a feature in the Sunday Times. Their "big Breakfast" was excellent - superb poached eggs and great sausage/bacon. They even add black-pudding - almost unheard-of this far south, bah-gum.. Their cakes are wonderful - and very reasonably priced. One word of warning - the rectangular plates that they serve meals on look very arty-farty but are dangerously impractical: my poached egg skidded-off on its own volition and ended up in my lap! It's very dog-friendly (seemed more dogs than customers) when accompanied by well-behaved owners and justifiably won last years "Best Coffee Shop" award from "Devon Life" magazine
