Brilliant! Menu was varied. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious and great portions. Highly recommend brunch here 👌

Oh yes! As a family we had a really great lunch on Tuesday. The food choice is excellent, from light bites to full scale a la carte. Our food was faultless. including stuffed pork belly, venison burgers and a really great apple crumble for dessert. The service from two young servers was faultless - efficient and very friendly. The surroundings are excellent - quirky and very comfortable. We had our two year old granddaughter and she was made to feel very welcome. It may be of interest as well to note that there is a dog friendly area beside the bar. Loads of car parking. Thoroughly recommended!

The reception and staff were very friendly. The apartment was large, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy all the good looking food as we had already eaten in the early afternoon, but the drinks are recommended. As we had to leave very early we got a breakfast package which was also good.

We dropped in by for supper and the staff were able to fit us. The inn is lovely inside and out. Staff were friendly and service was good. I had the special, a sweet chilli chicken burger, delicious! And I would highly recommend the thick cut chips. Sadly didn’t have room for pudding but would definetely return. The only thing that was slightly off putting was people eating with their dogs who sniffed and barked. Personal preference but I don’t like eating around other folks dogs.

Good for casual food and would rather 3.5 if I could. Just a little greasy on the food but the pub was very busy so it was maybe just a bit rushed! Staff were friendly and so nice to our kids. We may not have had the best food but we still left happy thanks to your servers!

Attentive and helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and decor. We all opted for the macaroni cheese. I was sorely disappointed considering the pricing. Way too much nutmeg which made the sauce grey. Very bland with no cheese taste at all. Our 5 year old didn’t eat hers and I managed the cheese topped part. I would definitely recommend changing the recipe and omitting the nutmeg and going all out cheesy. One macaroni cheese was a loaded one which helped give it flavour. I trust we can find something more palatable during our upcoming stay.

Popped in for lunch. Lots of nice comfy seating. Friendly staff brought water for the dogs. Yes food is not cheap but it was delivered quickly and very tasty. I had the burger which was really filling. Highly recommend

Really disappointing birthday meal. Only 4 occupied tables in the conservatory when we arrived. Had to wait well over an hour for starters to arrive, which were all ok. Same lengthy wait for main courses. 6 roasts of the day. Beef tough, tasteless no potatoes on the plates, but they did bring out when we asked for. Unfortunately they were tough and tasteless too, possibly frozen? Really slow service with several different servers attending to us, all seemed inexperienced and quite surly. No plates were cleared after we all finished with another lengthy wait for dessert order to be taken. 3 ice cream sundaes were ordered which consisted of 2 scoops of ice cream and some sauce. Really disappointed, more so because they charged £7.50 each. Sticky toffee pudding was okay. Lovely place, but food needs to improve and staff definitely need more training. Won’t be coming back.

Expecting an experience, we got it only not very good, when paying this kind of money you expect good quality food, not frozen , drive through quality chips, steak so tough you could sole your shoes with it, the pork dish, undercooked coating, matched with 8 quarters of new potatoes, so yes 2 whole potatoes, poor selection of desserts, also dogs allowed in, so if you have an allergy, aversion or just don't like them barking while you try and relax and eat them please note.

To say our stay here was amazing is an understatement. From the accommodations to the food we were absolutely floored. The staff were very friendly, even dried and folded our load of clothes from our previous place because we didn't realize there wasn't a dryer before we did the laundry. If I ever have the pleasure of returning to Scotland I will definitely be booking a longer stay here.

10/10 meal with service to match. Booked a table for 11 friends for my hubby;s 70th Birthday. Meal was excellent and staff very attentive. Nothing was too much bother. We had a room to ourselves and was very relaxing .

Wow wow wow what can I say honestly the best of day of our lives!!!! When Ryan and I decided to get married we wanted to keep everything local and when I visited Cock and Bull with my mum on our first visit to look round, I went home and told Ryan I’d found THE VENUE!!! Stuart and Hayleigh are both AMAZING nothing was ever too much trouble, all our requests were met, they kept us up to date with regular emails, and advised us on things we didn’t know about. The night before the wedding we were allowed to set up, but most of it had already been done for us! Every member of staff were sooo helpful. The accommodation was wonderful the buffet breakfast you supplied the girls was out of this world! For the family members, friends, make up artist, hairdresser that seen the accommodation all commented that area was such a lovely area for the bridal party to get ready!! As for the food, we’ve had alot of compliments about how good the food was and I couldn’t agree more!! Stuart, Hayleigh and the team made our day so memorable and we will never forget that!! Every team member went above and beyond from looking after the dog, or looking for the missing ring or just making sure no one was without a drink in their hand… If you are looking to get married or even have a family meal/party in the private room speak to Stuart or Hayleigh as you honestly won’t be disappointed!!! We spent 2 nights in their accommodation. The room was comfortable with a clean bathroom. However the blinds were broken. The King mattress needs replacing. Very thin and uncomfortable. Better to have 2 large singles than 1 thin King - Very disappointed. The service in the restaurant was excellent and very welcoming. The fish pie was lovely as was the pork belly and white bait. Our breakfast was also excellent and nothing was too much trouble with lovely coffee and smoked salmon and eggs. Cock & Bull do yourself a favour and buy some new pillows and mattresses! A friendly pub. Thank you.

Just finished the Sunday Toast at the Cock and Bull. To be honest we didn’t expect it to be any better than your average pub lunch. How wrong we were! Succulent well seasoned meat, sticky unctuous gravy, skirlie to die for, well cooked veg, and friendly service. An accidental find that we will go back to again. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with our experience for our sons birthday treat. We booked in advance & after having eaten there twice before & thoroughly enjoying it we were really looking forward to it. When we arrived we were taken to a room separate from the main restaurant, no music, cold (it was a chilly day with torrential rain) no heating on whatsoever as I was sat next to a cold radiator,just a bland room with no atmosphere at all, quite the opposite from the main restaurant. That aside we ordered our food, the menu was extremely limited on a Sunday so I ordered tomato soup to start. I can honestly say I have had tastier soup from a tin from the supermarket, it was the most bland soup I have ever tasted, to the point I couldn’t finish it. Then our Sunday roasts arrived, they were mediocre at best!! It was lukewarm & very average. My son then had dessert which he enjoyed & we paid the bill that was not cheap by any means. Very disappointing like I say, we can’t afford to eat out too often at the moment & this was a real let down. The staff were all friendly enough, I think if they hadn’t been that would have made me walk out. I’m not a difficult person to please but lukewarm average food & soup that tastes like water is not good at all.

Had excellent stay here.Fab friendly smiley service the moment we walked in.We had 3 course meal Cullen skink,roast beef & trimmings,sticky toffee pudding all excellent and nicely presented..Our breakfast was wow again great friendly service from young waiter.

Interesting location on highway and view down to beach , a warm welcome and a Saturday night early dinner , awards in cabinets set up anticipation of quality , We are not disappointed, Goid presentation , high quality food and attentive staff. The smoked haddock delightful and lamb roast exact, even the often criticised Mac Cheese elevated, thanks and appreciated.

A lovely pub interestingly furnished in the lounge area where we sat. Friendly and attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Absolutely delicious food. We couldn’t fault any of it and even squeezed in puddings when really we shouldn’t have.

Two lovely trips here during our holiday in Scotland. Just two of us the first time, I had the lamb and my partner had the tomahawk pork. Both Beautifully presented, lovely (unusual sauce) on my lamb, delicious. Four of us the second time, our companions happy with their fish and chips and scampi, all really good. Lovely friendly service, pleasant atmosphere and will definitely go back. But... on the second visit I had the maple glazed chicken, or rather I didn't. When standards are so high, why is this concoction on the menu which looks awful and tasted awful? I ate some of the chicken and then picked off everyone else's plate. I will definitely go back if near there again, but I'll steer clear of the chicken.

We come here often as a family so I thought it was about time I posted a review. I have the most fussy kids you will ever meet but they absolutely love it here. The food is amazing and the service is great. Despite being busy for Father's Day, our food was perfect and customer service was spot on. Highly recommended. Great for vegetarians too!

Food: STARTERS -Smoked salmon mousse, oversalted. Served with 4 small 'bread chips' which is not enough to accompany the large mousse. Verdict disappointing. -Cullen Skink soup. Really just cream potato and leak soup. No sign of the smoked fish. Verdict disappointing MAINCOURSE - Had been sitting on the pass too long so when it finally arrived all the main were dull, with chevy chips and over cooked onion rings. Worth mentioning is the cost of a fillet steak £ 33.00 which is then served half cold or the Pork tomahawk which was tiny but cleverly propped up by a ton of green kale. Verdict - disappointing DESSERTS - Crepes arrived inedible. Pre made or maybe bought in then reheated and sitting on the pass for far too long. Arrived dry and unappetising with an unhealthy amount of sliced bananas. Child's dessert but execution inexcusable for a trained chef. Verdict awful Service Too slow ohh so slow we literally lost the will to live !!! Was not made better by the fact we could watch the bar and all the young serves hanging around chatting without a care in the world. Value for money Super overpriced for not very good food. Praise Dogs are allowed Final verdict Unfortunately it was sadly a no from us. Feel a bit robbed and it kind of spoilt our family birthday meal. :(

Booked the table in advance. Got seated and waited 20 minutes with no service. A couple came in 10 minutes after us and got served within 5 minutes and we were still left without service. After 25 minutes we got up and left

There are few places that can get a lime and soda wrong. The C & B is one of them. I got a flat pint, which was replaced, but the "life" in the glass wasn't much better. As I wasn't hungry I only ordered a carrot and coriander soup but I found that to be over-thick and a bit tasteless - no coriander flavour though there was obviously curry in it but which was not "billed" on the menu. The homemade bread accompanying the soup was generous and tasty. In fairness the food elsewhere looked to be good and people were clearly enjoying it - I may just have struck unlucky. My wife had a fine Cullen Skink, which maybe I should have ordered. The Inn itself is attractive and the staff were affable.

Ate here for two nights and we were impressed with the food. Good generous portions, good choices, tasty, staff were excellent, extensive gin menu. Could perhaps do with more healthy options/salads but I would definitely recommend.

I have to say a bit disappointing and not as good as I remembered it. Fish was overcooked, no excuse really and needlessly tough then. Especially in NE Scotland you expect the great fresh haddock to not be destroyed by overcooking. I also had cullen skink which was way too creamy, like half a tub of double cream in it. That just makes it far too rich and not luxurious. Service was good. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Visited here for a meal on recommendation from our puppy breeder and local restaurant manager that was currently affected by the restrictions in Aberdeen. Have to say I am glad we went ahead with the recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. From arrival to departure everything was great. We had our temp taking on arrival , all Covid adhered too. This was my second time here and loved it even more this time. My fiancé and I had a delicious meal here, after a starter and a main each we were too full to try a dessert unfortunately but they all looked fantastic. I had Scotch lamb pakora to start - couldn’t fault it! Served with a delicious spicy mango and onion chutney. My fiancé had “dirty fries” - fries covered in whiskey sauce, cheese and haggis, which was also really good (I may have stolen a few forkfuls). I had battered haddock for my main (14.99 for a full portion which was very big!) which came with peas and tasty chunky chips. The haddock was actually the best cooked battered haddock I’ve ever had! My fiancé had sirloin steak, served with onion rings, cooked tomato and mushrooms (I think 29.99). Luckily for me he doesn’t like tomato/mushrooms so I was able to steal them from him, they were cooked perfectly and had a nice flavour. He enjoyed the steak and the peppercorn sauce was a really good addition.Loads of options for drinks, and the staff were really helpful in working around my dairy allergy. Super friendly staff, can’t wait to go back.

On Tuesday 11th I treated mum and dad to supper here. We booked a table the night before as we were taking our dog a Liver and white Cocker Spaniel called Henry. Our table was booked for 6pm we arrived just shortly before and on entrance used the hand sanitizer and a masked waitress used a handheld temperature checker on us then showed us us to our table and gave us menus, we ordered drinks mum and I shared a bottle of rose wine and dad had a non-alcoholic beer. We ordered our food mum had ‘The Cock & Bull burger’, dad had the’BBQ Brisket with Mac’ and I had the ‘Seafood Ligiunie’ which we all really enjoyed then we ordered dessert dad ordered the trio of sorbets and I ordered the lemon tart meanwhile mum just had a taste of them, they were very good.We got our bill which came to just under £50 due the EatOut to HelpOut Scheme, we paid and left a tip the table. We had a great time with the same warm cozy friendly atmosphere also received high customer service considering they were fairly busy.Would highly recommend to anyone who has not been yet.Great job to all staff and hopefully we will return soon.

Just had the takeaway Chicken dinner today , first time we have had i5 from there.Excellent service, was ready at the stipulated time.Quality food, fed four easily, one of us requested gluten free and was the lucky one in getting two Yorkshire’s!!Would definitely use again, great value for money and excellent quality.

We’ve just enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Cock and Bull. They had great vegetarian options as well as really nice local fish. All the dishes we had were very high standard and genourous portions. We couldn’t resist pudding even though we were completely full! We will definitely be bringing all friends and family here for a nice meal. Staff were also friendly and chatty and very attentive but not overwhelming.

Popped in for a quick lunch after a walk along the beach. They were able to take us without a reservation which was great, (although led to believe the eat out to help out is being well received at this venue, so best book Mon/Tue/Wed)! Dog was welcome although had fallen fast asleep to left her to chill.Haven’t found a team this welcoming and friendly for ages. Young team, but mature beyond. Able to chat confidently and make you feel very welcome. Engaging, friendly and well drilled, they coupled great service with great chat. How often does that happen nowadays? Their timing was spot on, not waiting too long or rushing you for an order. Really impressed by them. A bright bunch who got it spot on for our visit. We had something from the kids menu and a chicken burger. Both were tasty and great value for money. Good range of beers etc also. Lots of space, and yes, the lack of a bit of atmosphere due to covid restrictions, but with more tables in, I am sure it will be better than most. Really enjoyed it all, made better by the excellent team. Well don.

I ate dinner here last night. The food was delicious. I went for the haddock and chips which came with peas and tartar sauce and was first class. The other half went for linguine which she said was very tasty. The chef was great in terms of cooking the meals to perfection and accommodating our requests.The atmosphere was decent with a cosy pub vibe. There is plenty of parking outside, and you can find this place on the old A90 main road just north of Balmedie. There was a fairly good selection of food on the menu. There was also free WIFI, and they had temperature checks upon entering the building. A future suggestion would be single use menus (which they didn't have) but that didn't put me off as I could tell the place was really clean.The bill came to £50 which was acceptable value for what was a top notch meal. Overall I had a very enjoyable time dining here and I will definitely be back again soon.

Having lived in the north east all my life and having passed the Cock and Bull so many times we finally decided to go in for lunch. Beautiful place inside and the staff were very welcoming. Food was delicious with a choice from three menus, I had the macaroni cheese with beef brisket which was the best I have tasted. My wife had half portion of haddock and chips which was equally as good. Price was reasonable and the place seemed popular, would return.
