Lovely warm and cozy pub in heart of pretty Kelso. We met friends for lunch and enjoyed our chicken burgers, beef pie and ice cream for dessert. It was good honest pub fare with warm, helpful and very efficient staff.

Visited The Cobbles on a wet, grey day in Kelso for a drink to pass some time and I we were greeted warmly be the bar staff and spent a very pleasant hour having a chat over their local Tempest beers. We were made to feel very welcome and would return again.

Service was relaxed, friendly and efficient. Steak pie was one of the best I've had. Can't wait to go back.

Our go to place when we go to Kelso for a day out

Popped by for a late lunch / early tea on a Saturday afternoon. A cosy place with a roaring fire, great choice of craft beer options and traditional pub grub menu. We were welcomed with a smile by the bar staff. I had the Beef Pie (recommend) which was a great winter warmer on a cold miserable day, my partner had the curry which was ok but could have been more flavorful (strong coconut flavour). A solid choice among limited options in Kelso. As a football fan, a little disappointed the Six Nations was shown on the TV instead of the EPL, but when in Scotland I suppose one can’t complain. Would return for sure.

We dined here on 25/1/24 & can’t recommend this place enough, we had The Proper Beef pie which was outstanding & so tasty 10/10, the staff were very pleasant & couldn’t be more helpful & cheery, we will definitely be back & have already recommended to my daughter who is visiting Kelso next week.

Really surprised by this lovely Gastro pub situated in the heart of Kelso town centre. They accommodated 4 adults and 2 children without any issues at all. The menu was absolutely delicious and the prices were incredibly reasonable. I had a delicious home made kebab, my partner had a great vegetarian bean burger and our guests had pasta and the steak pie. When combined with a pleasant drinks menu and a lovely host it was a really memorable meal in a town where really good eats are few and far between. Highly recommend it either if you’re staying locally or need somewhere to pop in on your travels either further north, or down south.

Came down to Kelso for the night and wanted a good pub lunch after a long drive all the way from Glasgow. The dining area was quite busy so we were pleasantly seated on a table next to fire. I had the fish and chips with the chilli nachos starter. The price of the food may seem a little bit on the expensive side but I can assure you it was worth every penny. I loved it all. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely meal on Saturday night. Food was great my husband especially liked the seafood tagliatelle. Staff were attentive without being annoying. It was quite quiet but that's not the restaurants fault. The prices were reasonable. Would love to return and would definitely recommend.

Had friends visiting for the weekend so booked a table at the Cobbles. Not my first time, but as usual a fabulous meal and drinks. Staff always attentive and chatty, very relaxed. Food outstanding, had a break from my usual burger and went for the chicken waffle for the first time. It's definitely my favourite dish now. Side dishes of chips and onions rings were excellent. We had ice cream to finish and realised it's from a local supplier, it was incredible; despite a great dessert menu it'll always be the ice cream for me. Thank you to the Cobbles for a fabulous evening.

Fantastic! 5 stars all round, the pie was beautiful, please do not get rid of this! Also the mash was spot on, would highly recommend

Small cozy bar area which allows dogs - separate restaurant area. Staff are friendly so are the punters. Food was absolutely delicious.

We adore this place, and spend a couple of pleasant hours sitting at the bar or on one of the tables by the fire when we are in town. I’m coeliac, so love it they always have the Tempest Modern Helles. They also do great selection of food, which can be made gluten free. The chef/owner knows what can be changed on the menu to allow me to have a gluten free version. He’s also knowledgeable about the cross-contamination issue. The staff behind the bar are always really friendly and welcoming. They also tend to the fire regularly. There’s a good selection of beer for the non-coeliac, and a good range of gin. It really is a gorgeous pub to frequent in Kelso! And it welcomes dogs!!!

A rainy night in kelso and walked into cobbles. Very busy but found table in bar next to fire. A few drinks ordered food and it was tremendous when arrived. Seafood tagliatelle and fish and chips fantastic. Could have done with bit garlic bread but amazing

Really wish I had taken a photograph of my meal which was one of the nicest I've ever had. A friend took me to this place whilst visiting the area and it was a super steak with an egg pancake sort of thing and the whole meal was delicious and took quite some time to get through. Very worth it and a lovely open fire 🔥

Wow! We stumbled across The Cobbles whilst exploring Kelso. We were not disappointed! We had a warm welcome and the menu was fantastic. Our choices were varied and we all raved about them. The roast beef was declared to be the best ever, the homemade pie so enjoyed that we enquired about takeaways. The dessert board was fantastic too - the gelato from Becatelli’s across the road was simply delicious! We shall be back!

Excellent food and service in a well established cosy comfortable pub. Menu was new to us and was both tasty, innovative and filling. We will be back.

We drove 12 miles to go to Cobbles based on good reviews. We had taken my Mum away for a holiday and took her to cobbles for her 94th birthday. What a disappointment. My husbands chicken with waffles looked like a burnt offering when it arrived, he ate it without complaining as didn't want to upset my Mum given she was paying for it. If it had been sent back he’d have waited another 20 minutes for another one to be cooked and by then we would have finished it so he just ate it. He did mention to me after he’d finished it that the chef should never have sent it out, my Mums quite deaf so didn’t hear the conversation. I did complain to the waitress who said she could do nothing about it as he’d ate it, she also mentioned some other gentlemen had ordered it and hadn’t complained, I saw his plate of food as they were close to us and his looked fine. Nothing taken off the bill, appalling. Also wouldnt rate the fish, very greasy and batter didn’t have a great taste. All in all very poor, not the best ending to a lovely holiday, I’m not a complainer but this was shocking.

Do not be fooled by good reviews. We were on holiday and drove 12 miles to cobbles based on good reviews. It was my mums 94th birthday and she was paying for the meal. My husband ordered chicken with waffles, it arrived to the take burnt. My husband ate it as didnt want to complain and upset my mum, also didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes on it being cooked again which by that time we would have been finished. I did however mention to the waitress as my mums quite deaf so wouldn’t have heard the conversation. She basically said there was nothing she could do as he didn’t send it back at the time and commented that another gentleman ordered the same thing and enjoyed it, I saw his meal and it looked fine, also the fish wasn’t great, pretty greasy and batter tasted a bit odd almost like it had been fried in batter used for other foods. No money was taken off the bill, Appalling. I hate paying for a bad meal, so disappointing. Not a good ending to our holiday. The very fact a chef would send a plate of burnt food to the table says it all.

A fantastic meal , really can't fault anything about our evening meal at the cobbles.

I got the Shakshuka starter and a portion of chunky chips for lunch with a can of cold cider. The food arrived nice and hot but Shakshuka would have been much nicer if the yolk in the egg wasn’t hard so that the bread could be dipped in it, the sauce was nice though but the garlic bread was burnt and inedible. I asked for some bread which was very nice but it took a while. The chunky chips were nice, I’d recommend these but not the Shakshuka.

Great food and excellent service. Though they were busy on a Friday evening, they were very helpful in allocating us a table in the dog friendly area. We enjoyed the food from a varied menu and appreciated the friendly staff. Will definitely return if in the Kelso area.

Went mid afternoon on a Friday for drinks and tried to book a table to eat in the evening, but they were unable to do this, as they were nearly full and wanted to keep some space free. The atmosphere was good and we were sorry we had to eat elsewhere.

Whether you’re just looking for a nice place to have a drink or to enjoy a meal this is a lovely venue. The selection of ales and gins was pleasing and good value. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent too. They were all so friendly and helpful. I am vegan and the chef made me a delicious starter and main course outside of the normal menu. I simply mentioned my dietary requirements when booking and they were more than happy to accommodate me. Thanks for a great evening!

My fiancé and i had an amazing evening meal here the food was definitely the best we have ever had. The highlight being the mussels and cullen skink. This is certainly not just pub fare , cant wait to return when back in Kelso!

My husband and I were staying in Kelso for a couple of nights on what was one of there busiest weekends, Civic Week, so they weren't really offering take out meals. Luka most kindly took our order during the day and we collected at tea time. I had the the Seafood Tagliatelle which was absolutely gorgeous, the best I've had and my husband had the Katsu Chicken burger which was also faultless. Thw containers they were served in were perfect. The pub & restaurant itself is dog friendly and we would highly recommend it.

We visited here for lunch. We had the burger, pork burger, fish and chips. The burger was super dry which was a shame as everything else was great. Service was fast and polite. Prices on a par with most pubs. Note lunch finishes at 1500hrs.

This is a n amazing place. Great food including a good choice for vegetarians and vegans, fantastic service, great atmosphere. Friendly dogs are welcome here.

Nice cosy place with good selection of beers. Think they just got the fish delivery in because smelled like I got hit in the face with a salmon. But that’s good it’s fresh fish. No complaints from me. Chicken and waffles was good - great size portions.

Great food and service. Excellent range of ales (so many places promise this then don't deliver). And real sensitivity for allergies. All round great dining pub.
