Great vibe, great service from entering to leaving the restaurant. Claire was super attentive and made the experience more enjoyable with her very friendly bubbly nature. The food was delicious, and would definitely dine there again.

Attended today for my husbands birthday dinner. After spending time looking for the right place I am so glad I choose here. Claire our server was friendly and knowledgeable making the night even more special by organising a birthday plate for my husband. All the food was immense, the pork starter literally fell off the bone and the steaks were incredible. My husband is a big tiramusi fan which was one of the reasons I booked here and he said it was the best he ever had! My churros were huge and divine....totally recommend and when back in the area will return.

Visited our daughter and booked the Coal shed for a Sunday night meal. The staff were excellant but the menu limited as they had no seafood starters, which we all love, having run out. This restaurant is in BRIGHTON, how could you run out of prawns and scallops in such a place, knowing that people were booked for the evening. Steak cooked perfectly.

Visited for the first time at the weekend for my boyfriends birthday, the food was amazing. Would recommend the beef short rib, it was so tender, and the sides are incredible, don’t miss the short rib Mac n cheese. The service was attentive and they even brought a mini dessert plate out as a happy birthday for my boyfriend which was a lovely touch. The atmosphere was nice too, the restaurant felt quite upmarket. There was a queue out the door at 9.30pm when we left so booking is essential! Would visit Brighton again just to come back here.

1st night restaurant on recent trip to Brighton. Good atmosphere/ambience, socially distanced. Great food, Sea Bream superb. Highly recommended

We ordered the short horn beef croquettes as a starter and they were tantalising. Followed by Fillet steak, broccoli, Savoy cabbage and roast new potatoes, all washed down with a bottle of Soave. We waited a long time for the main course but we were rewarded with a fantastic main course. Sadly we were booked at another venue for after dinner drinks so weren’t able to experience their dessert menu. A good reason to return. Thank you for your hospitality. See you the next time we visit Brighton.

Firstly, social distancing. I'm not an expert and I'm sure the restaurant will comply with what they are required to do - but my partner and I felt uncomfortably close to the couple at the table next to us. It felt like we were almost sharing a table of four. Steaks were disappointing. I like my steak cooked blue, and my sirloin was served blue which was great. But it didn't look or taste like it had been seared very much or been near a grill for all that long. My partner's rib-eye was okay, and not huge. The crispy garlic potatoes delivered on garlic-ness, but couldn't be described as crispy at all. My starter was the best part of the meal (crispy gyoza dumplings - these were actually crispy, and delicious). Overall, not the best meal or experience.

I cannot speak more highly of the Coal Shed Restaurant in Brighton. The food and wine were a joy for the taste buds, and Mark, our waiter was exceptional. We had the best experience and would be regular patrons if we lived in Brighton. Without hesitation I strongly recommend visiting the Coal Shed for one of the best dining experiences you could have.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole dining experience! Great atmosphere, amazing flavours and presentation! Tasty wine. The staff went above and beyond to please us. We’ll definitely return.

Context: We booked this restaurant off the recommendation of Trip Advisor for a nice meal with my wife on a brief Saturday- Monday break in Brighton, so expectations were high. On a scale of full to very hungry I was 7/10 hungry.Oh lawdy, we were not disappointed.What we ordered:4 cocktails2 person sharing Sunday roastOrange Truffles That Sunday roast was one of the best I've ever had in my life, the sirloin steak was definitely the best I've ever had, de-throning The Ram in Hammersmith, and massively outdoing Marco Pierre Steakhouse that we had recently as a wedding present.The roast is served in a giant cast iron pan with honey glazed carrots, beef dripping roast potatoes, the beef, and Yorkshire puddings on top, and then 2 small pots of cauli cheese and buttered(?) cabbage, and we got 2 pots of gravy which another waitress joked was rare, absolutely delicious, portion sizes were great and the presentation was top notch, a feast for the eyes!The orange truffles were a really nice delicate balance of the bitter cacoa coating and the indulgent, smooth orange flavoured truffle inside, really good way to round off the meal, not at all too big.The cocktails were small but well made and not watered down at all, full of flavour. I had the Silk Road and Classical Riff, highly recommend, my wife had an Apple and Sorrel Smash and a Pynk, again very well balanced - the Pynk was especially good.The staff were really nice, I wish I got our waiter's name as I'd give him a shout out here. We didn't feel badgered or pressured to rush, nor did we feel abandoned at all, just the right amount of service!Our meal came to a value of £88 + £11 service charge, we had such a nice time we added an extra £10 tip on. Can't recommend enough!

Visited here with my husband for my birthday & had our hearts set on ordering the chateaubriand but they had sold out (rubbed off the board as we sat down ). Wished we’d booked an earlier table! We still had a great meal though with very friendly service. Starters of crab on toast & charred salmon were both delicious & we then both had fillet steak with a side of chips & creamed spinach/savoy - all helped down by a lovely Malbec. All in all a great evening - just lost one star due to lack of chateaubriand!

First things first the Coal Shed is not the cheapest place around but you can look at the pricing on-line before visiting. What it is though is excellent food, well cooked with good service so you get what you pay for and we certainly came away very happy. I had a crab starter followed by a steak and sides all of which were excellent, both the ingredients and the cooking. My better half also enjoyed hers so no complaints at all and would definitely recommend. We also shared a chocolate dessert which was to die for. Service had the right balance of friendliness and professionalism and was paced just right.

Incredible food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. Having visited many times, last week I was having dinner with a friend when she suddenly fainted. The response and caring service from the staff - Simona and Pat - was incredible.

Sirloin and Ribeye were perfectly cooked, we had Scallops and Pork Belly to start which were both amazing! Staff were very friendly and efficient :)

Really lovely staff, who made you feel very welcome. Speedy drinks, which I really like, albeit they didn’t have a drink on their drinks menu. I can’t help thinking that if it was me I’d pop out to Waitrose/Tesco and buy a bottle until the supplier order arrived? Anyway. We ordered after about 10 mins of being seated a light starter; bread and tapenade to share which when it arrived, quite quickly, it was fresh and delicious. Then sadly a wait, and wait and wait, 1 hour for our main to arrive. Now if it had been a complex dish I’d understand but a sirloin steak and a rib eye, one with chips the other with roasted garlic potatoes really isn’t that tricky. They eventually came and were good, not the best, but good. £24 for the rib eye, chips and little gem salad on top makes it a £30+ dish. The garlic potatoes were overcooked and I think the garlic was missing. So it was nice, staff were, as I say very lovely snd helpful, but I won’t be rushing back sadly. Many more to try in Brighton before I do.

I had the 200g filet steak in this place this evening and absolutely loved it. It was spot-on medium as I had ordered it and the bearnaise sauce to accompany it was perfect. The knife cut through it like butter and it was perfectly seasoned, a must go place if in the area for steak!

Really enjoyed this, had a large Chateaubriand to share which was fabulous. Sides were great, particularly the potatoes with parmesan. Will certainty go again when next in Brighton

I wanted to try for a long time but I have been a bit disappointed of the food quality.The scallops were not cooked enough inside so the taste was still good but not the texture. And for the dry aged steak burger the meat was a bit weird and the chips when the frozen one..I still enjoy the moment and the waiters were really friendly and polite but I was disappointed about the taste of the food as I wanted to try for a moment because of the review.The decoration also is lovely, maybe I just didn't chose the good course of didn't come in the good time

The food is amazing, real care, thought and balance considered in the menu. The meat literally is “melt in the mouth”. Great friendly staff. Very welcoming. A must for any foodie.

We had a the most fantastic pre Christmas lunch as a family. The food was simply superb and the staff were equally as brilliant. We cannot recommend enough and we look forward to visiting soon :)

If you are a foodie looking for good quality food and good service you should definitely try this place! I visited here with my partner and couldn’t fault it. Every course surpassed expectations and the quality of food was of a restaurant charging significantly more. My partner had the oysters, octopus and squid, followed by the fillet and I had the beetroot salad followed by the duck! All was exceptional! The service was also excellent! Thank you for having us, we will be trying your sister restaurant very soon!

We got the short rib for 2 with a few sides, it was a lot of food and all delicious! Our waiter was extremely enthusiastic and recommended a very nice wine too. Can't fault anything, it was delicious and the best meal I've had yet in my few visits to Brighton.

We had heard loads of good things about the coal shed from various friends, we went for a Sunday roast, and very disappointed with the 4 meals, we had lukewarm hard roast potatoes and one roast dinner was cold. There's no choice its just strips of beef, I mentioned this to the waiter and no apology or offer a fresh roast dinner. There are far better roasts available in the pubs around the Lanes. So won't be going back unless Im desperate

I have eaten here several times now and it has always been my "go to" restaurant if I want a steak. However. the last couple of visits 'Ive had to send my steak back as it was undercooked and the other day, we had to send all 3 steaks back. When I order medium, I don't exoect it to arrive seared and rare in the middle. Our server agreed and there was no problem sending them back but then my husband had to eat on his own while we waited for our meal to finish cooking. I would expect the chef to know how to cook a steak to order here and not " French style" where you need to order well done to get medium! This is an expensive restaurant and a special treat for us so, as such, it was disappointing. Everything else, rest of the food, service and ambience was great.

We came to celebrate our daughters birthday and had a table upstairs, we is more intimate and less noisy, we had a fabulous waiter just the right attention level, started with a glass of Goring fizz then shared a selection of starters delicious , then we all had the rib eye medium rare which was spot on and accompanied by a nice Carmenere, we finished of with puddings and a birthday plate from the restaurant and finished just in time to be out by 10pm

Five of us booked for lunch on Friday. We’d been to the Coal Shed before and certainly weren’t disappointed. Excellent steaks, prepared precisely as ordered, good wine and excellent service from Alex who was most attentive and happy to join in the banter. Most enjoyable, highly recommended and will be back soon.

First time visit. Throughly enjoyed it. Food was very tasty, steaks cooked to perfection, lovely cocktails and the staff were attentive.Lots of people mentioning price. Clearly if the website doesn't like prices, expect it to me higher than normal for a steak. But with this meat you get what you pay for.Will 100% return...

Great Evening with delicious food!!! Cocktails were great as well as the filet steaks, would definitely recommend and re visit in when in Brighton again. Very good value for money. Special shout out to Claire and all the ladies that looked after us :) Definitely not over price vs quality.

We have just had one of my favourite lunches for a long time. What a fantastic restaurant The Coal Shed is. Menu amazing, cocktails superb and all delivered by the very best of staff. Thanks to the whole team be seeing you again very soon.

This was the second time we've been to The Coalshed for Sunday roast and both times have been delicious! The sevice we had was excellent, Claire our waitress was very attentive and friendly, and we would definitely visit again.

After looking at the online menu it said to check the black board when it in the restaurant for steak options. It all makes sense now as when you get in there you find out it’s £25 a steak (with no sides) . This would have been slightly redeemed if the steak was cooked to how we ordered. But unfortunately it was cooked under to how we requested. We got the bill at the end to find out out they charge £4 for water, and £2 for the peppercorn sauce. The quality doesn’t warrant the price you pay!

We booked a table for 6.45 pm and the Coal Shed was already buzzing. Our greeting could have been more friendly no smile or cheery welcome however as we were shown to the top floor our waitress rectified the rather chilly hospitality and she was amazing from start to finish. We started with the grilled tiger prawns, amazing !Two rib eye steaks with ranch salad and fries. Do try the ranch salad so tasty. The Garnacha, Serra de Gata was a surprisingly good bottle of red. The whole meal was the best food we have had in a long time sadly we are not local otherwise I would definitely rush back and try the Sunday roast.

Simple dishes are made extraordinary at the Coal Shed. The black pepper smoked salmon was amazing and the Poussin and Steak were first class. Also not too sure how they manage to produce some of the best potatoe and chip side dishes ever.

Good food and service but overpriced in our opinion. Waitress was great, however, have had much better steak for less, our steak alone was £60 before adding sides and wine - total £112 for two.

So wanted to enjoy the Sunday roast at this restaurant today as special treat for my husbands birthday but was very disappointed. Huge carrots, very hard roast potatoes we couldn't get our fork into and the meat was in small slices and nearly all fat I could hardly find the meat, cabbage in a side dish dripping with water! Oh dear for that price I expected better, I appreciate that the meat is meant to come with fat, that's a given but I do want a good proportion of meat as well.I'm a cook myself and I know how a good Sunday roast should be and this wasn't it!

Outstanding food. Perfect for special occasions or a treat as it is a little pricey. But you get what you pay for.Recommend sharing roast. Would definitely dine again here.

We came as it was recommended, service and food was amazing! We washed out food down with an espresso Martini afterwards, (not the best espresso martini we’ve had though) sadly it was very noisy in there, and the social distancing side of things was difficult especially when a large group came in for their booked meal, but food wise is surely the reason we will be back! Steak was perfect! Starters were perfect, and reasonable prices also!

We booked this restaurant as we like a good steak, when we approached the restaurant we were really hesitant about going in, purely due to area it was located, however once in, we were made to feel so welcome and very well attended to, if you want a great steak in Brighton, this is the place to come, outstanding and well worth the visit.

Maybe it’s just me but I really do get frustrated with a restaurant when everything has an add on - £4 for 1/2 portion of string chips, £4 for a few mushrooms (unseasoned), £2 for a watery peppercorn sauce add on £26 for an average rib-eye and you’re into £36 before you even start on wine, a starter or dessert - for two of us is was £90 and I just feel for what was an averagely decent meal it’s just too expensive!! We’ve got a crisis going on for the food n drink trade and this won’t help them, us or Brighton as a whole.Ooooo and before I forget I’ve never appreciated the tip being added on without comment - 12%! I’d prefer to give a tip at my discretion based on the service I receive NOT based on the service the owners feel I should have had!

Visited again having had a really good meal a few years back. Once again excellent steaks and excellent service/ advice. Nice touch of a birthday treat for my wife who was celebrating her 40th birthday

First visit to this gem of a steak restaurant tucked away in the back streets of Brighton.The food was outstanding and one of the best steaks I've ever tasted,the side dishes complimented the meat well and the Margaritas were divine.Yes it's a tad pricey but you get what you pay for I feel Can I give a special mention to the waiting staff who chatted to us at the end of our meal ,polite and friendly and even gave me an extra treat when they discovered I was visiting for my 50th birthday.

Went here on a sunday night while visiting Brighton and had a nice service ( i should have asked for her name, i think its JLO as printed on the receipt) was really nice and chatty) . Lovely steak meal and good social distancing inside. Quiet meal for a sunday night. We ordered prawns, and felt they were not cooked to our liking, however the chef kindly made us a new plate of prawns which tasted amazing!

This restaurant did not disappoint - amazing service and amazing food! Would highly recommend! We had the Chateaubriand, asked for it rare; was cooked to perfection.

A long term fan of the Coal Shed it was great being able to return and great to see them so busy because ot the "Eat Out To Help "scheme .Despite being super busy the service was excellent . Prawns & Fish Tacos to start went well with the Albarino before moving on to perfectly cooked Rib Eye steaks,Faultless.Social distancing handled well.Big thanks to the team .

Now after previously working in the industry for many years and more importantly for a large premium brand steak house I can honestly say this place ticks all the boxes. The staff were friendly and attentive and really made you feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door, the food and most importantly the steaks , cooked on a proper chargrill and were all cooked to perfection! All the sides and sauces were excellent and they really made my dads birthday special, if I could list one fault it was that the food could have been hotter. But this certainly won’t deter me from returning and recommending this place. Thanks for a great evening.

Visited last evening and loved it. We’d been to the one in London and enjoyed it so had high hopes for the Brighton one too. It did not disappoint. The children’s menu had steak on it too which was great because quite often children’s menus are nuggets etc. The Porterhouse steak (700g between two of us with two sides) was delicious. The waitress was lovey and very friendly.

After eating seafood for days we fancied some steak and were recommended the coal shed.First of all the staff were all lovely which created a good atmosphere in the place, the steaks were superb and along with a nice malbec a great evening was had and would definitely visit again.

We had cycled from London, were welcomed by the manager and one of his team very kindly lent us a bike lock to enable the 5 of us to have a late lunch.Very friendly restaurant and food was excellent. It is slightly off the main road but well worth visiting strong recommendation

Visited early August and took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme. Will need to book as the restaurant as it does get busy. Service was good, and the food every better.Steak was excellent, porterhouse and chateaubriand between 4 people, 2 portions of chips etc Overall really good, albeit still a treat as still quite expensive

The restaurant itself is down a little side alley but close to the very busy seafront. Although clearly popular (and we pre-booked to make sure we got a table) it felt like a Secret Restaurant because it was quaint & compact (not too compact, social distancing was being observed), a little off the beaten track, food and wine were fantastic and the service was great, welcoming and warm. We had the beef short rib and fillet, cooked perfectly to our tastes. Chateaubriand and Porterhouse were available in limited numbers and they chalk them off the Specials Board as they're sold. Next time we're in Brighton we will definitely go back.

Superb Rib Eye steak.We visited the Coal Shed with a little trepidation having spent the day in Brighton and seen a woeful attitude to social distancing. However the Coal Shed made a real effort to make guests feel welcomed and safe in these times. Well done you struck a very good balance and ensured that safety did not get in the way of a great meal.We were offered a table downstairs and this is the best location but as it was a very hot night we opted for an upstairs one in the window. It was busy so we did not mind but I do suggest that downstairs is the better location.My Tomato burrata starter was magnificent but so too my wife’s Tiger Prawns so we ended up sharing. I followed with a super Rib Eye cooked to perfection. Good service and fair price although I don’t think they were passing on the VAT reduction ( I could be corrected) and if they were it was not clearly communicated like we have seen elsewhere. I would return

We very rarely have a roast out as always end up disappointed, but The Coal Shed is the exception. Eaten here a few times over the years and never been disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. Would definitely recommend.

We were served by Jo, she was lovely and joking with us when we arrived. We went during July so there was great social distancing and both my boyfriend and I were very impressed and agree that it was the best steak we’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Our first post lockdown meal out and what a meal! The food and service were just perfect and the strange life we now lead outside could be forgotten about for a while but we still felt perfectly safe. Every element was wonderful and Nick looked after us. We will be back.

We had a meal delivered as a birthday treat last week, tastiest ‘takeaway’ ever! It was perfect, we had the beef short rib (so tender) with 2 salads, garnishes and dressings (the dressing for the broccoli salad was so spicy but couldn’t stop eating it), delicious Mac and cheese and a very nice white choc, lemon and raspberry cheesecake, yum! Hope they continue the delivery idea when things get back to some sort of normality. Thank you Coal shed

We ordered the beef short rib for a celebration during lockdown. It was absolutely delicious, the beef fell off the bone, the mac and cheese was wonderful ( and not something I would normally order), the sweet corn and broccoli salad were amazing and as a whole the meal worked so well together. The chocolate mousse desert was slightly marred by tasting a little too much of bubblegum but still really enjoyable. A wonderful home treat in a time when we can’t go to restaurants; highly recommend.

We have never dined at Coal Shed even though have visited sister restaurant Salt Room few times.Being frequent diners, we found it difficult not being able to go out for many weeks. Decided to try ‘dine at home’ experience and it was fantastic!Sun Roast (beef sirloin) with all trimmings was delivered on time, well packaged, well portioned, well presented and beautifully cooked. It looked and tasted just like it would in the restaurant. Med rare beef, crunchy potatoes, delicious gravy and apple tart was to die for.£40 for two was excellent value. Thinking of ordering Moroccan lamb next week :)

Fantastic food offering dishes a bit different from the normal as well as a few classic,s friendly and intentive staff especially our waiter who had abit of young Tom Hardy look about him, recommend this restaurant highly, and we will be going again next time we visit Brighton

We chanced a walk in at a Sunday lunch after hearing about this restaurant and reading some fantastic reviews and we’re found a table for two.Now I am fussy and pick holes in the tiniest of details but... the food was fantastic and service exemplary.We were tempted by the sharing roast but I opted for the ribeye with beef dripping chips and hazlenut and shallot runner beans. I can not fault any of it. I also had a Virgin Mary which was beautiful and wonderfully presented. Hubby had the burger with fries and a side of mac and cheese with bacon and said it was amazing. The only downfall was that we didn’t have room for desert!Will be going again and also trying out their sister restaurant The Salt Room in the not too distant future.

We went for a Sunday Roast and the sharing option. Absolutely fantastic food, excellent wine choices and the perfect way to spend a Sunday. Couldn’t ask for a better way to spend the day! Thank you so much, the staff are very friendly and attentive too

Came to the Coal Shed for a late lunch before a concert and I was blown away. I had the pork belly to start and is quiet possibly the best starter I have ever eaten. It had everything beautifully cooked and seasoned pork belly with an amazing crumb and chilli top. The salad to go with with packed flavour and sent the dish to another level. Then there was the steak... in short the best steak I have ever had and I've had a few.. simply this place is a must visit, friendly staff, great food and wine selection. I will be back...

My partner and I visited the Coal Shed Restaurant and were blown away by the food. It truly deserves the recognition it has, the steaks were beautiful accompanied by the delicious sides. However, the main dish which stood out was the pork belly starter, absolutely phenomenal. Wine was beautiful and service was excellent, they even provided my partner his favourite whiskey which wasn’t on the menu! Fantastic place, we will definitely return when we are back in Brighton.

Visited on a Monday whilst on a business trip. The restaurant was really busy which is always encouraging. The staff were super friendly and joked with us. The service was efficient and the food was great. We all had steak and the rid eye and sirloin was top class and very well cooked. Sides are also great with the mash and burnt end being a favourite.

Visited the Coalshed for Sunday lunch, it’s the best roast I’ve ever had in a restaurant did order the mash as well as it’s so nice. The service was superb and honestly cannot fault it! Can not wait to return

I came here with my partner for a birthday meal, expecting a whole lot more than was delivered on a Saturday night. What we didn’t like:

The food was amazing. Great service too. I had a steak with a chimichurri sauce with garlic and chilli broccoli.

Had a great meal here last night, really pigged out on delicious starters then ordered two 900 gram sharing porterhouse and bone in short loin.

Fantastic value lunch for £10. Thé service and thé food where first class. Can't wait To try the a la carte evening menu. Thé menu really inventive and generous portions. We are french and found the food as Good as any Michelin starred restaurant in france.

Burnt steak, Luke warm chips and side! Walk the walk but definitely don’t talk the talk! Very pretentious but can’t back it up with the basics

Food was average and over priced. Been here twice and on both occasions it was just okay. A much better alternative is The Salt Room which is associated with the Coal Shed. On the plus side the staff were friendly.

Staff were brilliant, polite, didn’t come over too much and were very attentive.

Christmas do. All food was good and service was attentive. Cost higher than usual because of Christmas I suppose. £40 no drinks for smoked salmon, cod, chocolate mousse.

Not been for a while but still very good. Starters of treacle cured salmon and short rib croquettes- the latter particularly lovely. Then two sirloins, shared chips and onion rings. All excellent. Not cheap but good value. A bottle of the cheapest Bordeaux was also fine for us.

Me and my friend visited Brighton especially to come here because we heard great things about the steak. Completely underwhelming and over priced. We paid £26 for just the steak with no sides which is extortionate considering the steak was quite fatty (I always order medium rare). I dont mind paying this for a steak if it is amazing but this wasn't. We also ordered the short rib croquettes which were awful. I thought it was going to be some nice pulled beef but instead it was mince. Really disappointing :( we went to Bfries on the way to the train station as we were still hungry. The bill came to £100 and we shared all of sides!

Our third visit to the Coal Shed over a couple of years. This will be our last. The first two were fine. Last night the food was very poor. One starter (salmon) had clearly been sitting in the fridge pre-prepared with an added sprinkling of dried seaweed from a packet , another starter ('Jacobs ladder') had dried out. Even though it was early in the evening, they'd already run out of 2 starters.

We stopped here for Lunch yesterday as we were in Brighton for the run-up to our daughter birthday, The food was amazing we all went for the Fillet which was to die for.

The perfect evening - attentive staff, great atmosphere and very good food! I would agree with other reviews that it made the meal pricey adding in side dishes - I would have liked to have seen more included for the price? But I would add that the flavours were superb and we all really enjoyed our meals. The waiting staff were very attentive and accommodating of requirements. Would 100% return !

We tried this before a show at the Brighton Centre, and to check out recent refurbishment! Not impressed, menu boring, food not cooked well and expensive, £30 for a steak and all sides at a cost! Won’t be dining here again as Brighton is not short of good choices for dinner!

Very pleasantly surprised by this little find. Staff were warm and welcoming and knowledgeable on my gluten free requirements putting me totally at ease. The cocktails were delicious, it was a shame the wine was so pricey as we decided not to accompany our meal with a bottle and the dessert selection was disappointing so we also declined. But starters and mains were second to none. Thank you.

I ate here with a friend on a Tuesday evening and was really disappointed. I’ve eaten here a number of times before, but not for about a year.

Eaten here a few times. Always great food and very generous portions. Service always good, and very friendly staff and surroundings. Meat Heaven is the best way to describe it. Great wine as well. Recently undergone a refurbishment and looks great

Aurora, joe, Georgie and Claire were amazing in our meal despite me being slightly late for our reservation! Food was great and so was the service, would definitely come back and recommend to friends.

We ate here last week and it was decent. We had one mis-step only. We ordered some olive and potato bread as a sort of light starter. This clearly comes frozen to the restaurant and then they warm it up. They had microwaved it so some of it was hotter than the sun and some was still cold. We complained and they took it away and it was not on our bill.

The ambiance was good staff attentive and pleasant, we were a party of 4 for Sunday lunch . Two had roast chicken and others shared roast Aberdeen beef . Chicken very good, unfortunately the roast beef not rested properly, tasty but not melt in the mouth you would expect vegetables mediocre cheese and leek good. Desert rice and figs , rice not cooked correctly .
