Had Sunday lunch today with family and it was excellent, would definitely recommend. All staff really friendly and helpful.

So impressed with the roast dinner since under new management the staff behind the bar and the staff in the restaurant were so very friendly couldn't do enough for you been coming here for many years as the father in law lives in the village and must say how lovely the pub is

What wonderful, friendly staff! From the moment you walk in you are given a warm welcome! Nothing is too much trouble (even when it is extremely busy as it was on the quiz night)! We have been a number of times. The hog roast at the Scarecrow weekend was amazingly - crackling was to die for!! The quiz night was busy, lovely atmosphere and a selection of delicious food was available! Cannot recommend or praise the new publicans and staff of the Coach and Horses enough! Looking forward to having many delicious meals there!

Back in July we had a terrible experience in what used to be one of our favourite pubs, and we vowed never to go again but after we heard it was under new ownership we decided to give it another go on a Saturday afternoon. What a delight the 3 ladies were who have taken the pub on. They took time to speak to us and bought some bowls of water for the dogs we had with us. The plans they have for the pub sound great and as soon as the food launches we will definitely be back to try. We truly hope they are able to make a success of it, but it’s a great pub again with people who have a passion for it. Brilliant

Not normally one to leave bad reviews but this one was astounding and need want to warn people. Having read some of the other reviews it seems a common theme. We have been using the pub for the last 7 years as it’s local to our children’s school and we often used to go with friends at the end of term. Today though at the end of our last year the new landlord administered his own brand of customer service. Vile behaviour and his son threatened us with physical violence in front of 7 kids who were enjoying the last day of term. At a time when pubs are crying out for customer this one has been ruined by possibly the most aggressive person we have come across. There are plenty of great local pubs around which this one was previously, such a shame that it has become like this.

Absolutely appalling. Met a friend there for lunch. Two women. Landlord watched me park - the only car in the carpark - and complained about my parking. I was facing a wall and left about 75 cm between me and the wall. I commented that the carpark was empty but nevertheless got back in the car and edged it forward. Opened my door and banged it on an unavoidable boulder. I waited outside for my friend who parked next to me but her car straddled the line. The landlord and companion hurled insults at her even though she said she would be happy to move it if the carpark filled up. She went inside to get drinks while I stayed outside and listened to the second man calling me RUDE over and over in a very aggressive manner. Friend came out with drinks and second man became even more verbally abusive and repeatedly told us to F—-off. We left feeling shaken and scared. A horrible and frightening experience - will not be returning!

We had a lovely Sunday roast, food and service were excellent and all at a reasonable price, we'll definitely return when next in the area.

We have visited this pub many times over the past few years and enjoyed it! Today was a shocker...we were sat in the beer garden enjoying the sun and a drink. A family came into the beer garden and their children were super polite and well behaved. We then observed what was probably very worst customer experience we have ever seen. The landlord approached the family and VERY rudely and aggressively told them off for their children playing in the garden. RUDE, INAPPROPRIATE AND will empty this lovely local pub purely through bad manners! 🤷🏻‍♂️

What a very disappointing trip to what used to be a very friendly and welcoming pub. We cycled over on a very sunny Good Friday with two 6 year olds to find the play area closed. Which was a disappointment as that’s why we choose the pub. We still stayed and made the best of it, the children running around in the garden and making their own fun with paper aeroplanes. We were then approached by a gentleman with a dog who was very aggressive from the start, when we asked who he was he shouted at us all saying it was his pub and he would chuck us out. We tried to talk to him but he was so rude and extremely aggressive for absolutely no reason. We all grew up in Lubenham and lived there for 30 plus years, but unfortunately now we will not be returning.

First time here since under new management had the Sunday lunch couldn't fault the food or the pricing the only thing I would say is the portion is perfect just feel that it's sat on a too smaller plate otherwise excellent

Having visited this pub several times this year and found it to have great staff geat food and a lovely atmosphere. However since the Dillons have been running it it has turned into a place if low standards. Dirty place, rubbish pub food and awful staff. No wonder they lost their tribunal case against Market Harborough Conservative club.

I came on a quiet Thursday for a spot of lunch and i was greeted with the upmost respect by a lovely barman. I cannot remember his name for the life of me but he had a laugh and a giggle with me as we shared a similar disability. And then he handed me my half shandy with a smile on his face :)! On top of this service i received the most amazing burger. Which i quite sadly didn’t finish due to its size! All in all i had the most lovely meal and i definitely recommend this pub to anyone in the local area! Sue

With the restrictions being eased, we met up with friends about halfway between our houses. The weather held, which was a bonus!We arrived early and ordered coffees; we were surprised to be asked to pay but it turned out you couldn't have a tab and had to pay as you ordered. Our friends arrived and ordered the Sunday roast; I couldn't resist trying the Bombay fish & chips. The food arrived promptly and of generous portions; my fish and chips were different with coriander in the batter and a mild chilli sauce, an interesting variation on a classic.Service was prompt and friendly with the waiting team scurrying to and fro across the car park to the garden where we were sitting.

It's hard to find a flaw. They reopened with outdoor seating, and we were serve with staff that had started working there for the first time. They were brilliant.The outdoor seating is amazing. Area for kids, picnic looking pretty area with grass and trees, covered area outside, benches, tables, etc. We were lucky to have gone on a sunny day, we loved it.The best part has to be the food. 12h smoked ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket inside a steak burger cooked to perfection. I've had a lot of similar food, this might top them all.

Four of us walked to Lubenham from Market Harborough and enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch together. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and covid aware The indoor seating arrangements were good and there was seating outside for those unsure about indoor socialising in the current times. The food was excellent. We will definitely revisit.

We visited here for the first time on Sunday. We walked to the pub from Market Harborough and were pleasantly surprised! Beautifully decorated and very friendly, attentive staff. We had the Sunday dinner which was absolutely delicious! Generous portion and we ate it all! We also made room for pudding, definitely recommend the Mars bar brownie! Would highly recommend and cant wait to visit again!

Visited Coach and Horses twice in the past month with the family, including two children. On the second time we brought parents-in-law too, and it did not disappoint! Excellent, prompt and friendly service. Good choice, and good value children's meals (we went for the children's roast dinners). Delicious meals, great range of vegetables, perfectly cooked. After previously stopping off for Sunday lunch we decided to book again for my mothers birthday. Adam and his team did not disappoint what a fantastic time with fantastic food in a very very warm and friendly environment. Popped in here for lunch today. We received a nice warm welcome and good COVID precautions were in place. I had ham egg & chips. The ham was tender and moist. Two large slices about 6mm thick were served along with a well dressed salad, coleslaw and a good portion of chips. I really liked the fact that the eggs were poached instead of fried (which I find a bit greasy). The cost was very reasonable. Full marks to the chef & bar staff.

We meet up with some friends for Sunday lunch and had such a great time. The food was exceptional, the service friendly and Covid aware and even the decor/setting was comfortable and warming.I can't recommend this place enough. If you fancy forgetting things for a while, pay these guys a visit and life seems bearable once again. The only mystery is why this brilliant place is not #1 in the Market Harborough TA rankings.

This is just such a wonderful place to visit. The staff could not be more welcoming if they tried. Food was amazing, quick service and it felt very safe with Covid measures in place. There were a number of little extras which meant that this pub went above and beyond what was expected. The food was absolutely delicious and portion sizes massive (plenty left for a doggie bag!) I wish we lived closer as this would be a regular place to visit.

I recently had something to eat at the Coach with my sister, we ordered the Ham Hock and I have to say it did not disappoint. It was delicious.There was more than enough to share between both of us and it was genuinely good value for money.I am more than impressed with the food as I noticed the various dishes escaping the kitchen. As a man who enjoys going out for a good Sunday lunch, I was thoroughly looking forward to eating at the Coach and Horses having read the previous reviews and menu. We arrived, ordered drinks and food whilst enjoying a long overdue catch up with friends! (my social bubble)When the food arrived and we were two meals short, the waitress made us aware that two meals had been put through to the kitchen but had not been paid for so we instantly paid (the two unpaid meals however had been delivered to our table and the prepaid food had not). What type of restaurant takes your order at the table then demands payment at the bar prior to food being served? Is this a weatherspoons? We were refused the opportunity of setting up a tab. We waited another 15 minutes to be told the roast lamb ordered was no longer available (post payment being taken). The manager then turned nasty, antagonistic and point blank rude telling us “it’s your own fault your food has been taken by other people”. When getting our refund he complimented his terrible attitude with “I’ll even give you an extra pound” whilst proudly smiling in our faces trying to antagonise our group, it was as though he wanted a fight! To top off our day, we were barred for the inconvenience we had encountered, as if we would return anyway!

Food Fantastic, service great and the host (manager) is brilliant. My partner’s food came up wrong at first, he asked for no cheese in his burger, but on arrival at the table it had cheese. The waitress took it away and the manager came over and could not be any more apologetic. They took both plates away and on return it was cooked perfectly and was worth the wait. The roast was one of best I have had and certainly the best in the area. We could not recommend this suburb restaurant enough. The prices are also reasonable for the standard of food you get.

We stayed in Lubenham and decided that we wanted to go out for food! This venue was super! The food tasted great, the portion sizes were very generous, and the staff a delight to deal with.We enjoyed our Saturday night so much that we are going back again on Sunday for Sunday lunch.The meat dishes are great and and truly the smoking of the meat is incredible.In terms of Covid they have a super system and it all feels very safe.A great venue and great value!!

We called into the Coach & Horses this afternoon on our way home from a shopping trip in Market Harborough. My husband and I shared the Smoked Ham Hock along with a couple of drinks on the outside decking area. The smoked meat was delicious and very tender and we had to restrain ourselves from licking the plates clean!The Landlord and staff were very welcoming and friendly and the newly refurbished restaurant looks good. Food is absolutely amazing. Our party had rib eye steak, the classic burger, the farmyard burger (this is massive) and the smoked ham hock. All were delicious and a very high standard. The portion sizes are big. The fat chips and the onion rings are to die for. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We will definitely return.

In these peculiar times, the Coach & Horses are doing takeaway. We used this facility today, the delivery was prompt and the food, 7 different meals, was delicious! If you can, support them in their venture, because they deserve it and we need them to still be here when this is all over.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon off the cuff, the Mrs had the Roast with everything and I went for the pit burger and we both agree it was bloomin' gorgeous, good size well cooked roast tasted just like it should and burger topped with their home smoked meats was just awesome, no room for pudding but we had some anyway lol all topped off in a really nice traditional village pub surroundings, friendly staff and locals. Well worth a visit

Stopped at the Coach & Horses for lunch as the pub looked great from the outside, and stated they served Sunday lunch 12 - 9. Greeted by friendly staff and showed to table. Not too busy 2pm, which was great. Lovely surroundings, clean and fresh. Good choice of menu. Noticed small print of all food cooked to order; the food was delicious. We both enjoyed Bombay fish and chips. Portion was good. Price was £12.95 pp

Went with 10 people to celebrate a grandads 75th birthday. Staff,food & service was brilliant. Would 100% go back again. Owner personally supported my disabled grandad and was a top genuine guy.

Home cooked delicious tasty meals with plenty on the plate. Excellent variety of food. If your into drinking Gin there is a varied selection an all round pub to suit all tastes and requirments including disabled facilities which are extremely clean along with an alarm and hand rails. Garden seating for warmer weather days.

We recently attended a family dinner for my father in-law’s 70th birthday. The menu hide a wonderful selection of meals and my wife was impressed with the vegan and vegetarian options I personally would recommend anything from the smoker menu. They smoke the meats in-house so it literally falls apart and tastes incredible. The staff are pleasant and very helpful and the service was impeccable and atmosphere was awesome. Would highly recommend anyone.

I have left reviews for Sunday lunch but having tried the smoked meats thought I should add another to say how great they are too. Tender and tasty chicken wings and pork ribs, delicious ham hock, and really good bbq or hot sauces. Have not yet tried the beef brisket but that is on the menu too. If you have not visited the Coach and Horses yet, do give it a try. Good gin and wine choices too.

We have just moved to the area and didn’t know what to expect, it’s now the second time we’ve been and food is consistently delicious. Great pub, staff friendly and food great. Very welcoming. Speciality burgers are lush. Wine is also very nice. Great atmosphere and there’s parking too. Looking forward to making it for Sunday lunch soon!

We visited for lunch in December. We were accommodated without booking having called in the morning to check we could just turn up “around 1pm”. The bar staff had taken our call and we were quickly seated in the restaurant with an option of tables depending on how long we anticipated staying. The food was great - generous and tasty, the cheesecake fantastic and the wine way too plentiful for a pre-work Sunday! The landlord was extremely welcoming and seemed to be interacting with all his patrons as if they were guests in his home. It was nice to see someone who seemed to have time for his visitors! The waitresses and bar staff were lovely too. We’ll be back.

This is one of the best pubs in the area! It says pub food but it’s a lot nicer then just pub food! It’s a lovely country setting, there is a side where dogs are aloud to!

Annual Christmas dinner with over 50 guests Adam and his team delivered a perfect 3 course meal without any issues, the food was excellent and the staff top notch. Entertainment provided my Mar and Marcus was a great end to the meal.

Called in on the off chance of a reasonable meal. Had one of their rib eye steaks. It came with tomatoes, grilled mushroom, chunky chips and onion rings the size of saucers. They also did me a fried eff on top. Great meal cooked as I like it. I would go again when in the area. Service was cheerful and polite. not quite a pub and not quite a restaraunt but well with a visit.

Last night we had a fabulous meal and a lovely evening at the Coach and Horses pub. The restaurant was full, everyone has a 3 course Christmas meal served together. I had cheesy mushrooms to start and turkey for the main course. The food came out piping hot and was beautifully cooked. This was followed by cheesecake, the best I have ever tasted. The staff worked so hard and couldn’t do enough to please. The manager made sure everyone was happy throughout and was very attentive. No one was without a drink at any time!! A huge thank you to you all for making the evening so special.

I organised a vegetarian funeral wake here for a dear friend who passed away in November. I wasn't sure what to expect as a vegetarian spread can be a bit 'hit' or 'miss'. The food provided by the Coach & Horses was definitely a 'hit'! The most delicious & spicy vegetarian lasagne, spicy bean stew & many other goodies. It was so nice to see everybody enjoying the food & sharing their memories of my friend together.

We went here on a cold Saturday night for dinner. After a long day of driving it was so lovely to be in nice relaxed restaurant with the log fire roaring.
