The Clock House in Southwark

I hired the Blake Bar upstairs for my partners surprise 30th and we had the BEST time. Hidden behind a bookcase, this cute room fits up to 30 people and the food we pre ordered was absolutely delicious. We had our own bar person for the evening and they were sensational, nothing was a problem and they even let us leave the balloons etc so we didn’t have to carry them home. Would 100% recommend for your next event, we were looked after so well by all the staff.

Delightful place for a lovely Sunday lunch! The roasts were wonderful, generous portions of meat, veg and roasties plus a perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding. Cleared plates by all including the children. Great service too from very friendly staff.

Cosy pub with good beer selection and good quality food. Ordered a chicken roast, which was tasty and healthy. Very good customer service.

I really enjoyed our visit last night. Service was excellent (all the staff friendly and accommodating - we moved tables from inside to outside), and the burger was really delicious. Lovely pub. Friendly staff. Nice location. Have eaten here before and had a great meal - thought I’d try the Sunday lunch. Came away disappointed. Very small portion of cabbage - plate looked very beige. Everything very sweet and very overcooked. Couldn’t finish my plate.

We had a wonderful visit as a family, to this fabulous pub on the edge of Peckham Rye Park. A really relaxed vibe, and wonderful attentive and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble as we sat in the sunshine overlooking the park. The food was marvellous as was the wine! We shall return!

Hired the upstairs room for a daytime party for my Mum’s 80th birthday. The communication in the lead up to the party was a little patchy, but once it was all booked it was perfect. The room was lovely, perfect size for our group of about 25. The view was great. We had our own member of staff on our private bar. The manager was super helpful when we arrived, even helping to put up our bunting. The food platters were delicious and arrived on time. We were able to put on our own music. No rush for us to leave as there wasn’t a party booked that evening. Really lovely experience.

I went here with a friend for lunch on Easter Monday. We could only book a table for a later slot but when we got there there were very few other diners in what is quite a large space. The menu was not the same as was advertised on the Clock House website and consisted of mainly roasts and burgers. My friend had the vegetarian Wellington roast, which she enjoyed but I ordered a plant burger which was very disappointing. The whole burger was very small, a tasteless patty with tiny slivers of dill pickle, lettuce and not much evidence of cheese, onion or mayo (the accompanying chips were OK, though). For £16.50 I thought it was extremely poor value and frankly could have got a much better meal at Macdonalds for much less money. As Youngs pubs tend to have similar menus I cannot imagine that I would eat in one again.

Next level roast with epic ingredients. So well cooked and presented and I love a home made yorkie! Chef Jay was super friendly too, definitely recommend 😀

I live locally but haven’t dined there for a couple of years. I went there with a friend for late lunch and unfortunately the food was not up to scratch. I ordered fish and chips. The chips were burnt and the fish tasted bland. My friend ordered gammon, eggs and chips, but was given normal ham with again, overcooked chips. At the end of the meal when we were asked by the waiter how the meal was, he didn’t appear to listen to our feedback and just quickly said thanks and walked away! Lol. It’s such a shame as it’s a lovely pub in a great location. I’ll return for drinks, but not food.

The Clockhouse Pub has the most amazing upstairs room for parties of up to 30-40 people. Stylish yet cosy and intimate and with stunning views over Peckham Rye. We spent a wonderful five hours there for our lunchtime wedding party. The food was nice and the service friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended

Considering the location you'd expect this place to be a good standard but it wasn't. Other local places have been much better. If everywhere else is fully booked, get a sandwich and sit in the park. Don't recommend.

We had a lovely evening. A great spot by the rye. Incredible espresso martinis! Didn’t eat there but definitely worth a visit for a drink.

Went here on last week , it was a little quite but me and my friends had a fab time the staff where super friendly and told us to sit where ever we wanted, we had a bottle of lovely light rose. I am gluten free and am always worried about my food choices when I eat out but this was not a problem I was shown all the options I could have and also the lady who was serving us recommended I have the skippers catch which was so fresh and yummy ,my friends had the special, and the burger, the food came out and it smelt amazing! All in all a fab night out with the girls.

The appearance of both outside and inside is nice and pretty, and food was so good. Especially their mashed potatoes are really tasty. Above all, the clerks are so nice and friendly. The lady who served food for us told us about traditional dishes and recommended, so we can order good food for us. We recommend this restaurant (fast to pub?) for people who want to have a good memory of tasty British food with nice people there.

Fantastic pub. My local in fact. I visit The Clock House weekly and is my favourite pub in the area (with many to choose from). The food is great, the beer is cold and my favourite bar lady )the lovely Iona) always arms me with my favourite poison - Beavertown Neck Oil. Yes please!

We had a lovely experience at the clock house today. Really chilled atmosphere, reasonably priced (for new age Peckham) and good selection of beers. Food was lovely and staff were nice. Special mention to Tanya who was very accommodating with our little ones and even kept them busy with colouring in sheets!

Visiting friends in Dulwich and we booked a table in The Clock House. What a find! Very cosy overlooking Peckham Rye and very attentive staff which is a rarity these days. The food was excellent with a superb menu catering to all tastes and a great wine list. Highly recommend for food and service. Look forward to our next visit.

Popped in on Thursday night with some friends to find a pub quiz about to start in the back room so we decided to join in. Quiz content was superb, drink selection was awesome (£5 cocktails!), food was lovely and the service was great. Can't complain at all and looking forward to a return visit.

I returned to the Clock House for the first time in ages just before Christmas and I find myself returning more and more. The quirky layout and decor make it feel unique and there is always something interesting going on. The food is tasty and generous all served up by friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff. My children are welcome and I can't wait for summer days on Rye Common.

I had the privilege the other day to host a life drawing class at The Clock House Pub’s beautiful upstairs private room! I run life drawing classes across London and none have been as warm and wonderful as The Clock House team. The upstairs space was such a hidden gem in the pubs attic space, it’s plush cosy setting really helped give my night a special feel. Particularly loved the playful bookcase door which leads into the room! Would highly recommend hiring out the space for anyone who fancies a fun and special event space! Looking forward to coming back next Tuesday for more life drawing adventures ❣️

I went int with my partner on Sunday for a roast dinner and it was gorgeous. The roast was huge and excellent value for money, I loved the pub and the staff were lovely and well trained. Lovely meal and we will definitely be returning!

Honestly such a lovely little pub with great food and lovely staff. It feels like stepping into the county side instead of busy Peckham.

Visited recently as I'm staying around the area for business and have been here in previous visits. Can feel a real difference from a few months again, food menu is alot more appetizing and staff seem more professional and warming, seems to have been a manager change and am looking forward to returning

This was the 2nd time I’d booked and had eaten here, and I have to say both times it was really disappointing. Whilst the pubs in a great area and it’s nice inside. The food is definitely not worth the price they charge. On our first visit they had run out of absolutely everything on the menu so they gave us a bowl of cold undercooked vegetables and a burnt Yorkshire pudding. Genuinely, it looked like a dogs dinner. The second time we went (very recently) the “roast potatoes” were undercooked boiled potatoes (it’s not that difficult.) the Yorkshire was burnt to a singe, gravy was the same consistency as dish water, and the veggie wellington was like eating mouthfuls of sweet flavoured wallpaper paste. For a £20 roast, you’d hope that they could cook a potato. There’s definitely better places to go in the area.

Nunca escribo reseñas, pero a pesar del diseño encantador de este pub y del personal encantador, las cenas de asados son terribles. He probado el asado del domingo aquí dos veces, y en ambas ocasiones las cenas han sido extremadamente decepcionantes. On the evening of 4 Feb we held a funeral wake here for our wonderful son who sadly passed away. We settled upon The Clockhouse as the location as we were drawn to the warmth & hospitality here. The pub itself looks very nice from the outside, has a cosy ambience inside, and is in a quiet location opposite the Peckham Rye park where our son walked every day.

Pub muy concurrido. Llegó para un almuerzo tardío antes de reunirse con amigos y me dijeron entre otras cosas que buscaban comida que habría una hora de espera. No es un problema para mí, ya que llegué dos horas antes para las 5 de la tarde. Preguntó dónde debería sentarme y el gerente me sugirió el restaurante. Preguntó si podía ver asientos desde su posición, y luego me sugirió que probara la habitación más arriba en las escaleras. Encontré un asiento y una mesa y me puse a trabajar.

El servicio era bueno, pero la comida era mala para el precio, carne dura, verduras tostadas sin lavar y puré con harina / algo. Las normas han caído, complacientes debido a la ubicación y la audiencia local cautiva. Vergüenza, pero está sucediendo en la mayoría de los pubs de la zona.

Almorcé aquí entre Navidad y Nueva York, ya que pasábamos y nos sentíamos hambrientos. Yo había estado aquí unas cuantas veces, probablemente, hace unos 20 años. Fue cuando los pubs de Young eran conocidos por su ambiente de pub tradicional y me parece recordar los paneles de madera oscura. Sin embargo, todo rastro de esto ahora se ha eliminado en favor de la decoración "gastro" genérica con pintura de cáscara de huevo en colores pastel.

The quality of tastes of Sunday lunch was outstanding - well done them. So many places now just serve rather ubiquitous Sunday food but the portions were very generous but it was the quality of food that stood out.

Very comfortable, good service, and VERY good food. Lovely place altogether. Friendly staff, special mention to Iona, Keira and Tanya made me feel very comfortable and welcome. A very nice family feel, would definitely recommend this.

I had such a wonderful 40th here. The upstairs room, through the bookcase, is great with a fire, its own bar, teal colour scheme and comfy seats along with space for chatting. Best of all are the friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure that I and all my guests had a really lovely time. Thank you to everyone st the Clock House, I’ll be back to try out the roasts very soon

Amazing venue!! The manager Rudi was really helpful while organising the party and Zane (I hope I wrote his name correctly, if not apologise) the bar tender was amazing doing cocktails .

Came to The Clock House for lunch to meet friends. Very pleasantly surprised to find this little oasis opposite The Rye. Nice seated area outside, perfect for all the dog walkers!Bifold doors opening into the bar with a cosy restaurant at the back. The manager, Rudi showed us around as it’s quite a rabbits warren! Separate snug area, function room upstairs; so much bigger than it looks from the outside.

Tonight we moved to Barry Road, it was tough there was lots of lifting and stress due to an unfinished flatbof horrors. JOEY heroically servers us with a smile and a top notch sense of humour, kindness and all round top guyness, making our food happen. He tells us tonight is his last night, to say that we are deverstated would be a huge understatement. To boot the food was delicious and just what the doctor ordered. Love in buckets for our new local.

Food was good, and tasty - but given the bar is tiny, and there were 4 people working behind it, I sort of expected it to be fast. They were all busy doing things like washing glasses, moving pieces of paper around etc, while people were stood waiting to be served.

I went to The Clockhouse for dinner, true to form in my group of friends we were running late. As it was bank holiday the kitchen was due to close at 8pm but they kept it open a little later until my friend arrived.

Mi esposa y yo necesitábamos una comida llamado en el reloj de la casa, hijo mayor de nuestro pub favorito hijo en Dulwich. Comida (empanadas de pollo y torta de carne) era excelente y con jóvenes amargo de grifo no te puedes equivocar. El personal era muy amable y servicial.

I kid you not. £4 for a pint of fresh orange and soda. I actually thought he’d made a mistake. But the barman just shrugged and said “yeah I know, expensive eh?”

Metimos en un día soleado para tomar una copa: 2 libras. 40 Un slim-line tonic (frasco de 200 ml). Sí, es un árbol no muy delgado fiebre (línea, pero estás freshingly luz"), pero el Post sylvan vende por £1. 40 una botella para el mismo tamaño. Quizás sea más caro por ml de cerveza aquí. Saltando en el G&T; y cobren por tonic quizás? ? ? No han sido por un tiempo, y si esto es una indicación de los precios, no volveré otra vez.

Necesitábamos un lugar para comer después del partido y pasó por aquí. Éramos 6 de nosotros y el servicio era genial, nuestra camarera era muy atento y hasta nos las arreglamos para encontrar un par de velas para poner en mi budín de hijas ya que era su cumpleaños. Sin duda pop otra vez.

Muy decepcionados al reciente visita con mi huésped. Llegamos a las 8. 30:00 el sábado, 2 pescado y patatas fritas y 2 mitades de lager. Justo después de 9. a 00 la camarera nos dijo que la orden no había pasado porque me había quedado sin peces. Luego pedimos la comida hamburguesa, pero nos dijeron que no podíamos tener eso como que se había acabado de bollos! No hay disculpas del director, pensé que podría haber ofrecido 2 bebidas gratis nuestro porque de la espera y las molestias, pero se negó cuando le pregunté a la camarera. Nos fuimos y nos fuimos a otro lado.

Todavía sirven una buena pinta pero de ambiente bastante inexistente. El servicio también puede ser un poco brusco y como otro comentario dice "defensivas". Espacio exterior en la parte delantera con vistas al Centeno, no así en las horas punta, pero suficiente para que el lujo de una bebida a la hora del almuerzo. Comida fiable y barato.

I'd read some of the recent reviews - including some unfavourable - about this place before going for Sunday lunch there, so went with muted expectations ... But I have to say our experience was very different from that of those who slated both the food & the staff. The food, for us, was really very good (interesting flavours, well cooked), and the service was both attentive and friendly. And I think I'm pretty discerning when it comes to eating out. I'd happily eat there again.

We did the tasting menu. They catered very well for my gluten free diet. Loved the beef and sweetbread as well as the salmon and the chicken liver parfait with anchovy. Not so keen on the monkfiah dish with oyster sauce but a good foodie experience. We also had the cheese course which comprises of 100% English cheeses. Service was good. Lovely for a special treat.

We have had brunch at the Clock House for the first time today.

Tried to eat here with friends but couldn't book a table for 7.30pm and was told they would have no food left by 7.30pm. Asked if the could serve us then and we were told yes and told what was no longer available on the menu ( a few items). Stayed then and was given a table in the bar area. Tried to order at the bar but there was only one staff member behind the bar and he was very very poor for a barman. Couldn't manage at all. They have a dining area in the rear so went in the and sat at a table beside the reception desk and the kitchen. Food was coming out and we waited and waited and waited but the staff were deplorable and ignored our presence. Eventually my friend got up and asked one of them could someone take an order but we were told the kitchen was closed. Not a place I would ever give a return visit. Staff are just too incompetent.
