The Chippy in Antrim

Food was ok but far too expensive over priced in my opinion.

Had a christmas chippy out of here and it was a treat! Would deffo recommend this to anyone looking to try this take on different kinds of chips. I will be going back to try something else for sure.

I have had food a few times and is always good, but it is time that they put in better staff the waiting time is a joke l, had to wait 30 to 40 minutes for a hamburger. I will see if I go back because i don't always have 30 or 40 minutes to wait for my food

Price is extortionate. Gravy chip and 2 sausages £9.25 gravy chip had few chips with the rest being crispy ends

Overpriced overrated staff need a lesson in customer service !! Waited an hour on a telephone order which was sittin ready in shop !! Food was freezin and when complaint was made the smug lookin employee shugged his shoulder and asked wot I wanted him to do !!! Will not be back !! £16:45 for a kebab !!! Joke

Called in for a portion of nuggets and chips for son who doesn't eat the pizza we were getting from pizza the action. Service was very slow with only one lady taking orders and preparing orders to hand out. It took just over 20 mins for my order. Since a portion of chips was £4.40 I expected a decent amount of chips however the bag of chips was very small. It was smaller than a small chip from my usual chippy which costs £1 less. I won't be back and I definitely will be telling others to boycott.

Go and get the chicken spacer meals it's just great and chips are super

Way too expensive for batch frozen chippy meals. Nothing is freshly battered. I would understand if they were trying to batch cook in order to save time during busy hours but the place was dead. Cutting corners and charging an arm and a leg for it.

Waiting nearly an hour for food even though the order was for two people don't think I'd rush back

The prices they are charging are ridiculous and if they are charging this amount of money, I expected the food to be five star, the fish supper we got was stoggy and the batter was hard. I would not recommend The Chippy in Antrim thumb 👎

The guy who took the order was more interested in a conversation he was having with another member of staff and got the order wrong. For a family of three we found the food extremely expensive it was £41.00 for three fish suppers, one garlic mayonnaise, chilli mayonnaise and a sprite. The batter of the fish was hard and greasy and the fish was of poor quality and the chips were small and tasteless. It was extremely disappointing. If you're going to charge big price you need to get your act together. You don't even deserve one star. Does anyone read the reviews because the amount of complaints on Tripadvisor is ridiculous. 👎

Having been recommended to go. Got the fish supper. Disappointed the fish was frozen. Very thin, have to say it was a good size. The batter was thicker than the fish. Have to say was a poor choice will pick somewhere else the next time.

Went in today for lunch and got a "2 sausage and chips" lunch deal. Got that and a BPM which came to £8.50 all in, seems very expensive for a small lunch meal. Now the 2 sausages and chips were put in one of the small tin containers that you would get fried rice in from a chinese. Chips were all squashed down and portion very small considering the 2 sausages were in there too. I was standing for about 5 minutes before someone took my order, thought this was a bit rough as there was nobody else in line. Two ladies after me also took some time to be served, probably just as long, if not longer than me. Food took around 20 minutes to be ready, again this seems quite a long time for some standard sausage and chips. The food was decent enough because I ate it straight away, I imagine if you had a drive home the chips would quickly become soggy. The curry I got was completely brown and nothing like the usual curry you would expect from a chippy. Maybe just an off day there but hard to tell. Overall experience was pretty poor to be honest. Would recommend you go around the corner to the Arcade or Rolos if you are after a quick bite to eat for lunch.

Took 20 mins to get 2 fish and a chips. Fish were small for nearly £7 and batter was like armour! Chips were nice but £4.40 for a small portion. Go elsewhere

This was the most disappointing part about my visit to Belfast. Over priced, stingy portions and sloooooooow service. The food wasn’t even nice. Anyone rating this 5* clearly hasn’t left norn iron!

Extremely expensive, but gave it a try thinking maybe portions would be sizeable. Unfortunately portions were smaller than my usual village chippy and twice the price 😕 definitely will never return or recommend to anyone 😕 £37.20 for 4 dinner and one was just a portion of chicken goujon

This chippy are quite honestly robbing customers. £38 for food for 4 people. Considering two of those are small children and one adult only wanted a chip. Portion sizes are absolutely abysmal, chips served in a small paper bag. When ordering a cheese chip or similar, they turn the boxes upside down, filling what should be the lid, with a tiny scoop of chips. I cannot believe the audacity this place has, serving mediocre, over priced food. Will never be returning.

Def need to train ur staff on customer service. Sour face who take the orders slabbers to other staff members when your standing there. When u ask where ur order is after waiting for nearly 25 mins. And other ppl who came after u get there stuff before u. App a burgers take shorter to cook than 4 sausages 😂😂 won't be back. Given them a few stars as have to say sausages were hot but the rest of the stuff cold. Shocking

Good food, bit pricier than others, but get what you pay for.

Great chippy. We would be regularly getting lunches or dinner from here. I work local so hot lunch is handy. We also get the odd family chippy supper and have had some very filling meals. The staff are all excellent, especially the lady Maureen who serves at the counter she is really nice and very helpfull. I have seen her being patient and informative when people are struggling with what to have. Also witnessed her being patient in the face of some cheeky ones too. She gets 5 stars ⭐.

Placed an order on the app 30 minutes before I arrived in and she said the order just came through when I said the order number which is lies, they only just paid attention to it and then I had to wait another 40 minutes for the food to be ready and the workers don’t hurry themselves at all they like to stand about and talk more than cook

Nicest chippy I have had for quite a while. The chicken fillet burger was huge, very tasty and well cooked. Staff were friendly and while it was a bit expensive (like most takeaways now), I would definitely order food from here again.

Well, I’m not sure we are reviewing the same Chippy 🤔. My son (who is the pickiest eater imaginable) recons this is the best Chippy in the area, as a result I have to drive into Antrim (don’t live there) to collect his burger and chips. I always phone my order in on my way back from work, which negates any problem with waiting times. The staff, without exception, have always been friendly and polite, but the over-riding point is that the food is always great! Perhaps try again when your having a better day. 🤩

Travel 15 miles to the chippy the service and craic and welcoming atmosphere is top class. Maureen in particular always consistent with the best service. 👍

The worst chip shop i have been too in a very long time. The menu is very difficult to understand and is listed poorly. When ordering they had very few options and although listing a lot of options they have only around half of what they list. The staff were the most rude, ignorant, and unhelpful humans to grace my path. When asked about items on the menu they straight up refused to answer and said to "just hurry up". I was with my mother at the time and she ordered before me, when she got her food first and left, the staff started calling her rude names and insulted her because she asked for forks. They got our food orders wrong, for example when someone ordered "a kabab meal with salad" they got chicken on chips with only lettuce. The food is also insanely overpriced, especially for how mediocre it is. Over all, rude, overpriced, bad at their job, average food

Can't really say anything bad about this wee chippy. Never had a bad meal out of it. Fish I got last visit was perfection. A long term business still doing a great job and to top it all still affordable.

I went for cod and a soft drink. The cod was good but there was lots of oily batter that I removed. Drinks at £2.50 were overpriced compared to other similar outlets.

The 'cod' I ordered and paid a hefty sum for was not cod. The chips were hard and the gravy wasn't like chippy gravy, it tasted overwhelmingly of gravy granules. The older lady behind the counter was very curt and had no pleasantries about her. A very underwhelming experience that I won't be repeating. Parkhall Chippy is much better.

Just got a Irish stake kebab that was cooked in the microwave the whole this about the gyros is to be cut and served from the wheel it's slef not in microwave and asked. For no sauce to be put on it woman with glasses at till doesn't listen to you at all and it's definitely not sphinxs at all not happy will not be back it's given sphinxs in Belfast a bad name

Best chicken fillet burger I’ve had in ages 😊😊😊

I won't lie the food is good but most occasions that I ordered something from here I'm normally waiting hours I have no problem with wait an hour or two. I also understand that there busy but if your going to give me a time of when it will be at my location please stick by what your saying, I wouldn't have made this review because I do genuinely like the food but the wait times are the real killer for this business if you ever going to to order from here make sure it's a collection, I also might add that every time I order from here the employee's are always very nice and well mannered but please try to fix this issue that me and a few others are having.

Ordered a kebab with no salad or onions came with salad and onions phoned to say and was told they would send another one out. It came and it's exactly the same. Not happy. We order from here nearly every week won't be ordering again!!

Ordered dinner at 17.20 and told it would be an hour, 18.40 I phoned to see where it was, I was told it would be another half an hour - food is usually ok, but the service is appalling, even when you go to collect it, it’s never ready when they say it’s gonna be. How can it take nearly two hours for chips to be delivered???? Think I’d be better going elsewhere, service let’s it down everytime.

5 star Chicken Goujons just how they are supposed to be

Battered burger supper which was very greasy and I received a look of disgust for ordering a milkshake later when I noticed them for sale. I'll be sticking to The Arcade and Rolo's from now on.

I have been using this chippy for years but tonight service and not the first time either has been the worst I ordered early evening to give plenty of time to prepare for my so called dinner at 8.30 pm rang 9.05pm to see where my order was told over the phone that it’s just left and it be there soon but am sitting writing this at 9.55pm !!! And still no dinner disgraceful I do not appreciate being lied to I won’t be using this service again do better please !!!!!!!

Have been going here quite a while food is always good but phoned my order in on Saturday evening quite early when I arrived there was 7 people in the shop whereas the sign says 4.my curry chip was almost cold and my husband go their box with cocktails and chicken nuggets chips and dip ,the dip was missing. We were very disappointed 😞.

I have ordered from this chippy for years and the food has always been exceptional. I order using the app delivery and I have to say it is generally delivered bang on time and never is over 20 mins past the delivery slot. The food has always been cooked fresh and delivered piping hot. There's a lot of whingers on here who have complained about the wait time. This is a popular chippy so be prepared to wait if you are ordering in the shop. Use a bit of common sense and book a collection or delivery slot. Give the staff the credit they deserve

First time trying here tonight and we were not disappointed! The young fella who took our order over the phone was lovely, his manners were next to none. Food was beautiful, we ordered a few different things so we could determine our favourites on the menu as they offer so much, and it's hard to pick as everything was beautiful. We live about 15-20mins from the chippy, and the food travelled well in our own car to home, we will definitely be visiting again, it was well worth the trip!

Had “Festive Chips” from here - Amazing!! I phoned through at 6:30pm for collection and was told to come and collect at 7pm as they were busy. (I thought that was a good collection time). Paid £7 for them and woah that’s worth it. Yum the portion size was great! The stuffing was amazing. What a feed! You gotta try them! Filling and delicious. Thanks to all involved putting it together.

Called in & ordered two chips at 8pm, 5 people in front of me, got my chips at 8.50.... Desperately slow & very overpriced .. Lots of people complaining. Felt sorry for the guy on the till. 5 people behind the fryers..food was just Ok. Sorry to say that I won't be back 😞

I have just spent £15 on food and ordered to be delivered in a time slot between 6 45 till 7 and its now 7 35 and still waiting on my food. Phoned up 10 minutes ago and they told me it's out for delivery. So cold food on its way thank god for microwave. Never again will I be ordering again no excuse for this service

Maybe I'm just unlucky but tonight was the first time in 2 years that I ordered a fish supper from this place....I won't be ordering again...the chips were hard dregs from the bottom of the pan...the battered fish was not freshly battered...the guy on the shop quoted 11.70.....the driver sed it was 12...it took an hour and a half for the food to arrive...and it wasnt hot...the wrong address was given to the driver....Don't understand how it wins awards....Def will not be ordering from this chippy ever again. If you are ordering....write down how much is charged for delivery...I was told 2 pounds..the driver sed it was 2.50...

The chippy is a well know place for fresh cooked when you order. They have a delivery service. & a large range to order from. Small parking depending of time of day & night.

Takeaway molto pulito buone le patate fritte, il pesce così così in irlanda ne ho mangiati di meglio. Il personale carino ma con la mascherina sempre abbassata, e in più sono entrati clienti senza maschere malgrado fuori ci sia un cartello con la richiesta di non entrare senza è il personale se n'è fregato. Penso non sia corretto verso gli altri clienti

So so, battered sausage was very hard, but tasty. Chicken burger was tender and tasty.

Called in to get a few bags of chips and had to wait a while. The premises are immaculate and the food was to fair very fresh. However it is epensive.

Slow service but food used to be amazing, not so much anymore burger was like biting on a battered brick, and instead of using real grated cheese they now use cheap processed slices. And it's about time they thanked the lady that serves costumers in there for her time and let her go, she's the reason everything is late and cold by the time you get it, has no clue how to treat costumers and is rude to the kitchen staff and costumers.

Very slow , phone orders come before customer in shop.

Telephoned my order in as delivery is always slow and food cold. Arrived at appointed time to collect order not ready, when finally got order it was wrong my curry chip was missing from my order. Instead of adding that to my order they transferred my other portion of chips into a curry chip and sarcastically said there a fork so you don’t dirty your hands. Got home to find that my wife Cheese Burger and Chip meal was now a Curry Chip and Cheese Burger, my dinner was missing not happy wont be back not first time they have messed up my order and attitude of staff stinks.

Been wanting to try this fir ages. Big disappointment. Fish was dry inside a rubbery batter. Not freshly fried at all. For £9 and waited 30 minutes. Could have had much better pub grub fish n chips for a few quid more.

Ordered my food at 7pm, selected delivery 8.30 to 8.45 no food arrived phoned at 9 got told it was due never arrived. Finally got my food at 9.35pm. Ordered for a family 👪 i wouldn't recommend

The chicken goujons are not battered but soggy, tasteless, gravy is not proper chippy gravy, salt and chilli chips were disgusting with some weird garlic mayo sauce on BIZARRE, the only good thing was the two bottles of Fanta Lemon. Over half an hour wait as well and the woman at the till was far from friendly. Do not recommend.

Waited almost 30 mins, for a breast of chicken to be cooked. It didn't even look that busy. People who got served after me got their food before me. The server did apologise a few times saying she was very sorry for the wait. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Love love love this establishment! Always spotlessly clean and service is second to none... can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal and the lady on the till is amazing... sometimes I’ve waited a bit longer than maybe I should but I don’t mind as it’s the best food around....
