So, picture this: I stumbled into this chip shop, slightly tipsy, just before closing. I ordered some chips and chicken, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer! The chips were like little slices of heaven, and the chicken was so good, it sobered me up for a second. It was the perfect drunk food, and I highly recommend it. Just be careful, you might end up craving it even when you're sober! 😂🍗🍟

Impeccable food, such loverly and respectful staff who are very friendly and had rapid service. I strongly recommend this fantastic place to anyone sober or drunk 😉

Went here Sunday with my family paid for meals and was appalled at the standard of food. My granddaughters burger was obviously cooked with oil they used for frying fish. Disgusting. Battered Sausages fish bites chips abysmal.. batter was like biting through plastic. Needless to say we through it in bin. Greasy tables and chairs to boot. This place needs a visit from health and safety. How they get away with seeing food like this is wrong on so many levels. Don't eat at here.

Sad to say this place went from a Excellent 5 star fish & chips to a less than 1 star fish & chip sorry but no thanks December 2023

Ordered food for delivery, at 17:20 on a Friday to be delivered less than a mile away due to the weather and being lazy lol.. order confirmed and delivery time given as 18:20 which was fine.. except it didn't turn up at that time.. so at 18:40 I called and was told it was out for delivery. At 19:10 I called again and got some unintelligible jabber about the traffic... I told them to cancel the order and refund me which they agreed to, or at least I thought.. at 20:30 I got a call from the delivery driver to say he was there with my food. I was no longer at the location for the delivery and advised him that I cancelled the order at about 19:00. How is over three hours acceptable for any delivery of food let alone with everything above. Absolutely shocking. Ohh and I didn't get my money back either.

Excellent customer service, very friendly and helpful and accommodating. Defo will be back. Mention to Marian who went above and beyond for us, a credit to the shop on Botanic !!

Curry chips were amazing but £5.80?! Ridiculous. I paid it mind you, so more fool me.

The best food place in Belfast! I was getting mugged by 4 men on botanic and the workers came out and took them down one by one. They proceeded to tell me they had a fresh chicken goujon meal waiting and to just sit down and relax. The food was amazing and even cured my hayfever!

Will take your money and not deliver your food also the chicken is soggy would not recommend

Visiting all the way from Leicester,England…..tried the chicken goujons and chips with a pink pasty , young lady serving and taking orders was a bit quiet….the food was outstanding and the location was good and convenient to get to. For a first time trying this while visiting from afar I give 9 out of 10 …….deffo worth a visit if you come visiting BELFAST.

Ordered through deliveroo, driver asking me to pay when delivering. Showed proof of payment but had to call management to confirm. Top of this, half of the order missing. Used to be the best chipshop in Belfast but quality of food decreased like never. Will not order ever again

This place has gone to the dogs. They have changed to a weird awful garlic mayo that costs extra. They also reduced the quantity/size of goujons. Goujon meal tonight was over £10 which is insane. Staff still nice. Management decisions.

Unless you stoned or drunk don’t eat there Ordered Lunch meal deal for £5.50 regretting my choice. Sad defrosted burger with handful of chips. I would rather go to McDonald’s. Avoid this place

Food has potential to be really good but majority of the time it's brutal, staff are woeful. However, I am done now, cuz this was my chicken tonight (Goujons, not legs or meat on the bone) so so sooooo rotten, If I get salmonella.. have contacted environmental health. They refuse any responsibility and looking at the reviews, its happened to quite a few.

Ordered takeaway at 7pm from botanic shop, rang at 8:30 it was out for delivery, still not delivered at 9 (10 mins drive max), rang back, ended up having to re order, arrived within 20 mins, then forgot a part of order, at this rate I wasn't even hungry, 21:40 delivered the rest of the order. Discount applied which was appreciated but not a great service at all this time around. Other than that usually never any issues

Okayish fast food. No atmosphere and unfriendly staff.

Open earlier than most, but not a full menu until 12noon. “Big Fry” breakfast was robust, but nearly tasteless. Looked amazing; taste…ehhh. WIFI available, but no one knows the password, so a no go! Just not worth the effort. Disappointing as I really wanted fish and chips!

Ordered online, shocking waiting time and delivery. Ordered breakfast at 12:20 and it only around at 2:20pm. 2 hours for delivery, and tried to say that their service was down.

Usually lovely - Tasty but portions were smaller than usual for what I paid for, was missing a dip and found a hair in the chips. Paid for extra cheese but didn't get it. However, delivery driver was lovely and very polite!

My son is so Fussy when it comes to food but he LOVES the burgers from chip&co and always eats the lot we love going everytime we are on botanic 🙂 only place he will eat&i must say i dont mind as i love it too. Staff were lovly and a pretty chilled place!!!!

Pathetic… they don’t have the menu they advertise… be prepared to get the call that they can’t fulfil your order with a substitute… in my case they offered chips as the substitute???? Please avoid, as they didnt even try to make an effort. 70% of our order they didn’t have! Avoid on a delivery, and do not waste time doing any distance to collect, as it will not be complete.

One of my wee mates had the most brutal dining experience I've ever witnessed from this cesspool of an establishment. Its not often you feel sorry for someone when they're spending their hard earned money on take out but in this case it was the opposite. There were 3 of us at the scene of the food crime and thankfully only one of us ordered something( Luke Goldthorpe) god bless him. Me and my other friend had to back away when the box of food was opened as it was a sight for sore eyes. I thought he was complaining for the sake of it until i smelt the buffalo burger and was brought to a state of nausea that had me gagging, no exaggeration. All we can do is laugh and feel bad for our mate who sadly paid for the most excruciating dining experience of his life.

Shocking just shocking, do not order from here what an absolute joke, order food for my niece took an hour and a half to arrive, I am 10 minutes away from the place max, 1 hour and 30 mins to make 1 meal, do not order from here, staff at the place no help at all just kept telling me to wait it'll be there, food was freezing cold and rock solid, how they are open is beyond me, it doesn't even deserve 1 star

Ordered a taco chip and a kids fish goujons+chip. Food tasted off resulting in both me and my girlfriend waking up the next day with food poisoning. Would not recommend.

Such good food! Got a burger and went back 2 hours later for another. Bun was toasted, fried onions and lovely fresh ingredients. Very clean and a step up from your ordinary chippy. Great wee Belfast find, we'll be back next time up. No pics as devoured the food

Pretty decent battered sausage supper with a coke for a fiver. Chips were great, curry sauce tasty though the batter on the sausage could've been crispier. Not bad.

Very bad customer service. I ordered my food and waited for more than 1/2 hour and when I enquired about my order they scolded me for enquiring and the service is not at all customer friendly.

This is my go-to chipy, and food place. They're menu has a decent variety, and their chefs/cooks know what's good, and they will amend things if possible (again, this is a chipy, so the vegetarian and vegan options are limited)

Absolute disgrace, everything came cold handful of mushrooms and a few onions as a portion of each disgrace. Staff weren’t much help either Said to ring back for manager then hung up and wouldn’t pick up the phone again!

Fried chicken is unreal and I'm a vegetarian (or try to be).

It was the portion size that took me by surprise, expected more however it was reasonable food and fish was good.

Went in with my friend at 12:30am and we both ordered our food, paid for it and waited for it to be prepared. My friend’s food arrived slightly before me so he went to the seating area and the two door staff (security)let him and said nothing. When my food was ready I went into the same area to join him. Again the two door staff said nothing until I started eating. One said that there is no sitting in after 1am. My friend pointed out that it was 12:45am. The door staff member said, “It’s really after 12!” I handed him my food and asked that he arrange a refund and we would eat elsewhere. The other doorman did just that. Handed my food back and the bewildered counter staff gave him my refund. Management called me and have gone above and beyond to restore faith in their offering. This was an issue with security staff and not their product or direct employees. Customer care took ownership of the issue.

Honestly, used to be so nice, but the last few times I’ve found that the service has been appalling. Whether it’s closing hours earlier then advertised, staff just not listening to your order or the lack of staff so that you’re waiting to be served. Such a nice chippy that’s really gone down hill

Will not be ordering from here again. Ordered online - 2 sausage and chips for 2 kids and gravy cheesy chip. They decided to give me 2 sausages in 1 portion with less than a handful of chips and gravy cheesy chip was congealed and cold. Rang them to get other sausage and woman argued with me on the phone that I need to specify that I want them separate. So they decided to combine the two kids meals and blame me for it. So each child got one sausage and less than 10 chips and mine was inedible. Woman on phone was shocking, arguing with me then just said “ill get the supervisor” and walked away from the phone. I didn’t ask for a supervisor. She just didn’t want to deal with the issue. Disgraceful

Great compared to the other ones

Ordered food tonight and waited 2 hours for It not to show up. I rang the place and they were very cheeky down the phone saying they tryed to deliver it. I then told them to send another order out which I waited another hour and a half to receive no food which they took payment for . So now I'm down money for no food 3.5 hours later. Just go to monte carlo instead.

Came up from dublin for a weekend and ate outa this place, my experience was the staff are very slow, and got half a order and no one wearing masks 🤷🤦

Hit or miss with this place. I go in sometimes and the chicken is fresh tender and tasty with big potions. Alot lately it's been small shriveled hard as steel tough old bird. Not great at consistently.

Absolutely woeful. Weirdly enough the first time we ordered it was spot on so ordered again full of mistakes gravy instead of curry let that slide as food was still tasty third time mistakes again so swore never to bother again However this evening my wife decided to try them again worse mistake ever two battered sausage suppers with curry after a looong wait to arrive yet again gravy instead of curry and just one tub although the gravy was rank so blessing in disguise Chips were a pure joke as for the sausages the batter was like chewing rubber at least this time she won't make this mistake again as she is feeling queasy now

I ordered 2 burgers but they gave me a whole box of chips…now I’m sitting at home having these chips for dinner…too tired to argue with them after a long day work..so here for everyone: OPEN the box and CHECK the food before you leave, otherwise they might trick you.

Got order wrong to a point of being inedible - when called about this after already waiting an hour for food was told they could send out a replacement but it would be back of the queue and take an hour and a half and at the point of writing this review it's been longer and has not even arrived - I understand being busy and mistakes happen but customer service is absolutely dreadful and staff were very rude over the phone to me - will never be ordering from here again and never recommending

Went in asking for a Derry chicken box and Marian made me up one for just £6, it was massive and would put a lot of Doire chicken boxes to shame. Absolutely outstanding performance 10/10

Food itself is excellent if collected in person, but delivery is very poor. Ordered delivery at 11pm, due by 12:15am. Assumed they were just busy as I couldn't get through on the phone - until at almost 1am I found the food abandoned on the doorstep. The driver didn't bother to phone or even ring the doorbell, just dropped it (at the main entrance of a block of flats) and left. Order was freezing cold and inedible.

The staff as usual are pig ignorant. Was standing for a good ten minutes ignored and was only spoken to when inpromted them. The food was nice to be honest but again its the staff that let the place down... Sort it out

Ordered on Deliveroo. Delivered within 25 minutes, food was perfect. Couldn't fault it

Firstly, very slow service, I was the only one in the shop and It took more than 15 min to get a portion of chips with chicken, cause staff was very busy talking to each other (very loud by the way). Secondly, none of them had masks or gloves even. And finally, and as I expected food wasn’t good at all.. I had to threw it out after few bites... Very disappointed.

Staff was so loud and obnoxious, kept on yelling at each other ,nobody wears a mask. Taco chips took like 30mins to make and there wasn't even customers there. Food messed up all over the tray and of course no fork or napkins too, pretty disappointing to say the least, had to throw out just after eating few chips, wish I'd read the reviews before going in and ordering.

Food took 1hr15 to be delivered. It was cold and hard by the time it arrived. An item of food was missing.
