The chicken was lovely but the fish was like leather couldn't eat the batter very disappointed as it was lovely

The customer service is awful and unhelpful staff made visit for me uncomfortable on more than one occasion.Having spoken to others who used to visit this place.too many staff not doing anything just sneering at customers. And moaning about job

Phoned for a delivery at 5.40. An hour later phoned to ask how much longer. From the background a voice shouted an hour. When I questioned another hour the girl on the phone told me the shop was “really” busy. I asked why I wasn’t told it would be a long wait and she said the shop wasn’t busy then???? When questioned why my order was pushed back when they got busy she got a bit flustered. To cut a long story short when the order eventually arrived at 7.25 it was cold and the batter on the fish was tough and soggy. How to lose customers in one easy lesson.

Ordered a black pudding with two fritters (no chips) and a chicken burger supper. Home delivery. Black pudding came with two fritters AND chips. Picture of chicken burger on menu has salad. This chicken burger was a tiny bit of chicken thrown into a dry roll. No salad but a huge pile of chips. Food was lukewarm at best and 90% has been recycled in the food bin. Total waste. This place used to be good (award of 2011). Must have changed hands as it has been getting progressively worse. No more. Get your act together Chip Box . . . we don’t all want cold stodge for dinner.

Bought 1 sausage supper and 1 fish supper. Had to scrape them out of the box they came in. The batter was so soft and the chips were so “wet” they stuck together in a ball. The batter should be nice and dry, the same as the chips. The shop around the corner have got it right, maybe The Chip Box should find out their secret!

Tried to order home delivery without success. Phone just rings out then get message saying Sorry there is no reply. Not satisfactory at all.

A very clean and bright establishment. Serves the best chip meals in town by far. The fish suppers are enormous and the quality is excellent. Other offerings are of a similar high standard.

Had chips only recently at lunch time...don't usually get from here...not good I think they'd been sitting for a while after being cooked

Terrible service, I felt the service was unacceptable I have traveled a lot been to a lot of places and this was a bad experience. Had to go and buy dinner elsewhere

This was delicious, 2 large pieces of fish beautifully breadcrumbed... masses of chips. Tasted very fresh, well cooked and lovely and hot... big enough portion for 2 people 😊

Don't eat much fish n chips carry out. But got a dressed fish from here last Friday it was fab.. my lodger is well impressed and has bought a few!! I got a single fish ... came with 2 huge pieces of fish with breadcrumbs cooked great and tasted great. Only cost £5 defo a bargain as it could do two people. Will be back if there's any left now my lodger has discovered it

Was so looking forward to fish and chips but it was a bit on the greasy side, maybe a one off but disappointed all the same

The best fish supper in the west-I have been here on numerous occasions for both sit-in and takeaway fish and chips. Always impeccable, the food is freshly cooked to order and the staff are friendly and efficient. My grandchildren love it too! I intend to continue dining at the Chip Box when I'm in the area.

Had a lovely fish supper, great service and lovely tasting food. My friend had dietry needs, the staff were more than capable of attending to her needs with all the information. Great service, great food and a quick and efficient service. Highly recommend.

This chippy is a great stopping point on the way to or from Crosshouse hospital. It is a must to try!

Called in for a sit in lunch recently. Very prompt and friendly service. The food was piping hot and fresh. Generous portions and very tasty. Would recommend.

After asking if the chips were cooked in the same oil as everything else, the lady behind the counter politely told me no and that everything was cooked in beef lard. Then when I asked if they sell anything vegetarian at all, then some really rude guy that also worked there snapped at me and said "NO, everything cooked in animal fat"

the best fish and chips...well worth traveling across ayrshire for a family treat, eat in or take out. there is no parking outside the shop, but a large carpark across the road.

Visited here on lots of occasions food brilliant very fresh at a great price too staff extremely pleasant. Well worth paying a visit too.

This is our local chippy and always good - this time we challenged them with a birthday party in the restaurant for a large group. Friendly, efficient service and fab fish & chips made it a great success - and recruited some new customers who have put it on their faves list.

After hearing good reviews on the chippy I was excited to try it . The fish was average good but nothing I couldn't get at any chippy . My mother got the "chicken gourjons" ........5 small child's size chicken nuggets some chips and charged £6 it looked like left over scraps . The " mushy " peas were the worst I've had for one they were just normal peas and were awful. Over all it'd say pricey ok if your hungry and it's near by but wouldn't make a effort to go .

we get the large take away fish supper which has 2 large pieces of haddock and plenty of chips which does the two of us for a quick and easy treat. ask to get fresh fried and you will not get a better fish supper anywhere. the wee tea room is good but it is wee.

£6.45 for a fish supper and £2 for a bag of chips is very pricey for this area. Bang average food but it'd do in an emergency.

Being local we use the Chip Box regularly and have never been disappointed. If you are ever passing thru Stewarton and feeling hungry it is a great place to stop either for a carry out or a sit in meal. Both great value and good food is assured.

It says 'award winning' so I would have expected a light and crispy batter, freshly cooked fish, unfortunately the batter was greasy and stodgy. I can't understand how awards were won obviously standards have slipped by quite a lot, used to be very good, everything used to be cooked to order, instead of stewing in hot cupboard. I asked if they had any cooked onion rings, but no, not even offered to cook them for me.I have used this shop many times but not anymore.

Beat this for value 2 fish suppers and mushy peas , and mug of steaming tea for £9.00. Beat that and you can have salad instead of peas. Lovelycharming wee restaurant beats all the big establishments hands down. VisitStewarton for great food and value

Always top quality freshly cooked food, great selection and does good kids meals. Sit in or take away available. The shop is spotless and fitted out to a very high standard. The staff are friendly and efficient and this is always my first choice for fish and chips.

It's an average fish and chip shop. Chips are no different from anybody else, neither is the battered fish. It seemed to me to be the same batter mix that you get in most chips shops - nothing special.Given how much they promote on the front of their shop all the awards they've won I expected better. In fact, in Ayrshire I've had better!On a plus side, the shop is spotlessly clean.

I went into chip shop to purchase fish suppers with husband. On a whim decided to sit instead. They were doing a special deal all this month a meal and a mugOf tea for £3.99 yes £3.99. Cosy wee restaurant, we were served right away had a beautiful fresh jummy, fish supper and mushy peas. Followed by a really nice mug of tea. Beat this ITISON you can't. I'll be going back before the deal ends if I can get a seat

The Chip Box built itself a restaurant a few years back and we always intended to drop in and try it out. We were pleased to see it so busy - always a good sign. We were served quickly and the food arrived in very substantial portions. We had bread and butter (margarine!) with tea and the cost was remarkably good value. We did overhear some grumbles about the set 'Fish Supper' being increased in price even though the menu price hadn't been changed. The staff are friendly and efficient.A must visit chip shop that tries hard to be the best. We will be back and look forward to the quality, quantity and value ofm our meal.

Love visiting this place. Fish and chips etc are ALWAYS fresh and taste great. The customer service is excellent, and staff are very friendly. Always come back here when I'm in the area and would highly recommend this place to anyone. You won't be disappointed.

At least once a year when I pass through Stewarton I make a point to stop at the Chip Box. It's a once a year highlight on my culinary calendar. The service, ambience and value are all great but the fish and chips are second to none! Fish and Chips have been around since the beginning of time but this family run business continues to innovate in all aspects of this humble dish from food quality through to sustainability... For a consistently good chippy there's nowhere better!!!

excellent food, can sit in restaurant , takeaway or get delivered. huge choice on menu but fish and chips are superb,friendly staff and lovely modern decor for a chippy very clean
