The Chicken Run in Manchester

This here is a shambles of a Caribbean food , constantly overpricing people “mistake” yeah right ,,, chicken split they use all the fatty chewy pieces of the chicken that is basically not edible , if you fancy a good Caribbean you gonna struggle they are all rubbish in area to be honest

This place is as amazing now as it was 15 years ago chicken splits here are next level amazing you have to try them for yourself

I got small curry goat 5.50 a thigh of Jerk chicken onits own 1.90 a dumpling 1.20 and and coleslaw 1. So explain why I gt charged 12.50. 3rd time I've been and 3rd time I've been charged for stuff I don't even get. I waited for a dumpling for 15 mins for the girls mate to walk in order and it be given away and I wait another 10 like what the he'll this is why I don't bother

Food is usually good but as a very regular customer I did not appreciate being given a cold meal and no option of heating it up after waiting in the freezing cold for half an hour to get it. I only realised when I had driven home, and I had driven some distance too. very poor. Sad to say I wont go back being treated like this.

I got introduced to Chicken Run by a friend, ever since when ever I get the chance I always return and recommend this place to anyone I meet. Firstly the food - the chicken / dumplings / curried goat / Homemade cakes & the many other delicious delicacies they do are the best Jamaican Food you’ll try any where in Manchester. Personally I always have the succulent chicken drumsticks & Chicken Split - you’ve not tried anything until you’ve tried one from here. And secondly the service is always great, no matter how busy it gets and it gets really busy you’ll always be served with professionalism and a smile. If your ever in Manchester and want to try the Jamaican Tastes & local cuisine to the area defiantly give here a go.

The food here is amazing you can’t get better anywhere else. I have been here on numerous occasions; the portion sizes are great for the price. Staff are well mannered and friendly. The only downside I would say is it’s a shame they don’t deliver.

Now I love chicken. This was some quality chicken. Dumplings are fire - sweet sweet sensations. Chicken was bangin, like I already said. Yum yum, will be back. Also chips are peng son get urself down there.

I love this place, the best jerk chicken outside of Jamaica! Try the cook down chicken or curry goat dinner. Belter scran! Great price, really nice staff. Will always keep coming back here while I live an manc. Also try splits and the cakes. Chick gravy beats KFC any day! Home hearty cooking at its best! I love you chicken run.

Visited here for lunch today been wanting to try it for ages. I had the saltfish dinner with rice n pea and veg. It was so tasty also had a chicken drumstick which was superb. Definitely going to be my place for takeaway. You must try it

I had chicken split. Which is festival dumpling with chicken in the centre. A West Indian Chicken burger. I hadn't been for a long time, but they're just as tasty as they've always been I also tried some of my friend’s fried chicken Of you like KFC, you’ll love it #Delicious 🙂🤗

Went here for form my lunch for the first time. Had a chicken split. Can’t go wrong for £3.50. If you haven’t had one .....GET ONE!

He estado en unas cuantas veces cuando estaba bizzy y tenía un buen pollo para mí y mis hijos gastaron dinero allí solo ayer fui a gastar mi dinero allí para 3 de nosotros y ella me dio pollo que debe haber sido desde el día antes de que estuviera podrido cada pieza la tienda estaba vacía, así que me dio una paliza con un caucho maloliente, un día calentado, ni siquiera puedo masticar, estaba desagradable, he estado enfermo toda la noche, la mayor parte fue a la basura, me sentí estafado.

We drop in here for lunch before our long drive home from here to Poole Dorset , Shame we do not have one like this in Poole . I had rice and peas with Goat Curry , my wife had the same but with rice , we also took home some jerk chicken and patties , all the food was freshly cooked and just lovely and not at all expensive , wish I did live too far away as this place is a real treat , will call in again when I visit Manchester

Chicken Run is a Mancunian institution. Been eating here for over 20 years and have never had anything but fantastic food and service every single time. Cooked down chicken is my personal favourite but absolutely everything on the menu is exceptional. A truly great takeaway.

Dirigido a servir el pollo sigue siendo mejor auténtica comida jamaicana. Desde el pollo frito de cabra curry y algo parecido. Plato nacional ackee y saltfish jamaica es deliciosa. También sirven tortas y jugos especiales. Para la gente local en inglés que también se puede conseguir pescado y patatas fritas estilo jamaiquino.

I've been going chicken for years!! By far one of the best Caribbean shops in Manchester so authentic we get Fried Chicken rice and peas steam cabbage or try the oxtail with rice and peas.If you fancy something quick definitely try a chicken split...I definitely recommend this place..

I've been working in the area recently and I've been waiting since Sunday to catch this place open .. today was that day , and I ordered the famous Chicken Split .. fried chicken chopped up and served in a dumpling with optional salad cream .... it really superb ... a word of warning though ... its a fair old portion .. you might find you need forty winks after you've eaten it ... just to allow you to digest it! It's a must try !!

The food was great meat was very tender,the curry coat had more bones then meat.the rice and peas was okay.the chicken split was the best thing.the only thing that let it down was one male worker seems to have bad attitude apart from that great would go again and would recommend to any one

This take away is the best in Manchester. All kinds of Caribbean foods.Plus drinks as well.The owner and his staff are very polite and friendly.Food to die for if you like spicy chicken and fried dumplings.

I love every one in there, the chicken is buff, ping ting. Don't get goat curry if you have taken it up the rear as your butt hole muscles will not be able to take it.

Visted there 13th and 14th the chicken split is the speciality with salad cream. Nice friendly staff at all times

This is not a restaurant, its a takeaway. Food here is nice and consistent. Fair prices too. Can get very busy on a Friday evening for obvious reasons but all in all not really had a bad meal from this place. The chicken splits are legendary!

Jamaican food is basic and authentic. This takeaway captures the essence of Jamaican cuisine perfectly. Once you eat there you will always return. Clean tasty food. The owner is always welcoming and his family are carrying on the tradition.

This place has to be the most popular Caribbean spot in Manchester. You get the biggest portions at great prices and the food is to die for. Authentic Caribbean cuisine, that is a winner on the weekend and worth the hours drive there and back. Fried dumplings are a must with any meal.

El local estaba en la esquina de donde yo vivía. Una noche comimos el pollo frito, con papas fritas. Es picante.En nuestro caso fue comida para llevar.

Love chicken runs fried dumplings and fried chicken... Chicken split with salad cream too... Wash it down with a tropical rather mango and carrot juice.. Nice place to eat..

Ok if you need a snack, sometimes you can wait a while but is definitely worth it. Would definitely go again. Really nice for lunch.

I am a big fan of this cuisine and I eat here regularly. For me personally, the best thing they sell is the chicken split. It's a substantial snack or a small meal. Basically its fried chicken in a dumpling with salad cream, ok i'll admit that it dosen't sound like much, but it's GREAT. The staff are ALWAYS friendly no matter how busy they are.

This place is what you want from a Jamaican takeaway, no frills but great food and very well priced. They have hands down the best chicken split in manchester and it is worth travelling there for that alone. Manchester has many good Caribbean takeaways but this is one of the best...

This is the only Jamaican takeaway that cooks food as good as my own, its worth the journey for the oxtail rice and peas and fried dumplings. The staff are lovely and great with the kids, we never go anywhere else xx If your looking for well cooked Jamaican food with huge portions this is the place to go!
