We had such a good time and our server Shauna was brilliant so polite and chatty ! Would definitely recommend this place, amazing food, really hot and made well !

My boyfriend took me here for a surprise birthday meal and we could not have had a better experience! The food was excellent, especially the king prawn and sesame toast, and the drinks were also incredible. We were lucky enough to have Shauna as our server and she made the experience so lovely for us and suggested two cocktails for me that were both 10/10! I was even surprised with a little brownie and fruit plate at the end to celebrate my birthday which was a really lovely touch. Cannot recommend enough!

Came for lunch on Good Friday. The restaurant was busy but the service from Shauna was efficient and very friendly. We felt very well looked after. All the food was very good. Gammon chop was a particular favourite. We would definitely come back.

Super friendly staff and the burger and slat & pepper fries with the pickled chill was an awesome touch. Would definitely recommend the Cherry tree, clean and well organised.

Wow where to start! This was our first time visiting The Cherry Tree and it did not disappoint!! Went for my birthday after numerous recommendations from people that complimented here many times. And I’m so glad to we visited! A beautiful and immaculate restaurant and such attentive staff, a real credit to the restaurant. Food was freshly made and delicious all of my family commented on every meal saying how delicious it all was! We had the pate, scotch egg, garlic bread and two Sunday dinners and the pie! There’s not one single bad thing I could say about the food! Once again a huge credit to the chefs! Atmosphere was lovely and welcoming! A huge thank you to everyone who works there for making it such a lovely evening will definitely be returning in the future! 💕

I had the honour of being taken to a beautiful restaurant today by my family as I am going through something that is heartbreaking. But my word, the waitress that came to our table instantly started what would be a wonderful day. Grace! She welcomed us with a smile and a personality second to none. My partner and I had already chosen our dishes the night before and when she was taking our order, my partner-over excitedly screamed his order at her! Her response was phenomenal! She came back numerous times to make sure we were all happy. The Cherry Tree is a spectacular place, the food is beyond delicious, but to make it all worthwhile-have Grace! She made our afternoon. What a special young lady. Thank you Grace x x x

The place to go if you want excellent customer service and food to die for.....

Having not visited for some years decided to have a family meal there and was delighted with the decor and ambiance of the place. The service was good with the staff very attentive and polite (special shout outs to Erin and Poppy)..also noticed how smart and polite they all were. Had a delicious meal which was reasonably priced. Thinking I will revisit soon!

Had a wonderful night the other day, came in for dinner after the new menu launch and was astonished by the choices for menu dishes and their market menu. Can’t forget to mention the long cocktail list with options based on every spirit. Went for the market menu. The wild mushrooms on toast off the market menu was just amazing. I had the grilled haddock for my main and the fennel puree on it just tied the meal all together. And the service was just top tier from beginning to the end.

Here yesterday for mothers day. It isn't the cheapest place you can go certainly, but it mskes up for it with what you get. Very beautiful dinner & one thing I promise, you won't be hungry on leaving. Full restaurant but so relaxed. I found it great leaving time between courses for stomach to settle, places that rush are struck off, but here was ideal. Mother enjoyed her mother's day treat, look forward to returning,

The service and food were excellent,with it being Mother’s Day the place was very busy ,plenty of staff available nothing was to much trouble to make it a great afternoon in a superb environment. Plus my wife is coeliac and all the serving staff were knowledgeable about gluten-free food and menu if we asked a question they got us an answer promptly that was very good and put my wife at ease .

We visited Cherry Tree yesterday on Mothers Day for lunch. From arriving to happy, smiling staff we were given a 5 star treatment throughout our stay. We were celebrating my Mum and she was given a handwritten card and bottle of Prosecco to celebrate. The staff were helpful, cheery and lovely. Our food came out super quick and was amazing! We all said we could have licked the plate! There was also a magician doing card tricks and he was great. Thank you Cherry Tree for yet another amazing meal, personalised service. We recommend you to all our family and friends and we will be back again soon. Was definitely the best Mothers Day we had.

The cherry tree at Blackrod surpassed all my expectations. The atmosphere was charming, the cuisine was outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a delightful experience. Highly recommended for those craving a remarkable dining experience.

Myself and my partner went for a Chinese themed evening, last Friday, pre booked our food the previous week. When we arrived we were welcomed by some really nice front of house staff, the service was fantastic all night. For our food I ordered the Salmon and the beef, my partner ordered the prawns and duck for her main. My starter was an embarrassment, the piece of salmon I received, was around 1mm thin and 5cm in diameter, it tasted really nice but was more of a canapé portion than a starter size. Compared with my partner’s which she couldn’t finish. My main came and it had been flash heated too much and had become hard on the outside and dried out, not the best! Again my partner food was loads better. All in al,l the waiting staff made the night! As they were brilliant. Oh! the entertainment was ok! Won’t be rushing back!

What a lovely place to eat the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious we had the fillet steak well worth the price and cooked to perfection. We will be going back soon.

We have been to the cherry tree several times and always found it excellent. On Sunday 3rd March we was badly let down by another local restaurant we was trying as a couple for the first time, my husband had booked a table and on arriving there the booking had not been done even though we had the call logged on husband phone. We received no apology on the night and the service none existent and was left waiting over an hour so we left very disappointed. The cherry tree was our saviour on this night as we just called to see if there was any chance of a table, the staff were lovely and sorted us out even though it was 8pm. The food and the staff were amazing very attentive it was such a difference from our earlier restaurant and we can't thank them enough for saving our night out and we will see them again soon

We’ve been here a couple of times now. Certainly not haute cuisine though some unusual stuff - white onion soup and scotch egg with wild mushrooms for example. USP, however, is hearty main stream food cooked well and in copious quantity. You can’t fault that strategy and they do it well, for example an exemplary medium rare fillet steak and a very fresh tasting haddock and chips. It works,busy on a Tuesday evening, populated with a solid Lancastrian crowd. Reasonably priced, attentive staff, house Malbec excellent, Enjoyed it.

I tried to write a review it was blocked, we had a big family celebration. Food was ok, our issue was the staff. All one person did was moan she hated her job, other staff around Hannah was her name. We were serves ok, food was average

We came for a family lunch as a 5. Service was fantastic and our 18month old granddaughter was treated like a celebrity by all the staff. Ethan and Emily, our servers, couldn’t do enough for us. Food was delicious and priced accordingly. We’ll certainly return again soon!

Excellent Sunday diner menu and excellent service and great price

My wife and I visited on Sunday 3rd March and decided to have the Sunday roast. My wife ordered lamb and I ordered the beef. Our server (Summer) who was polite, friendly and attentive asked how I wanted my beef cooked. I asked for medium-rare (pink) beef, and it came a bit more on the well done side. ...other than that, my wife and I really enjoyed our visit. The food (other than the beef) was really nice, As I said our server Summer, was really friendly and attentive but at no point did we feel pestered. We were also pleased with the location of our table and the ambiance. The music wasnt too loud and we were far enough away from other tables so as not to be overheard. Overall a great experience and we will visit again soon.

Fabulous dining experience, the fusion of ingredients and taste was without doubt perfection. Extremely attentive staff in particular Grace, exemplary waitress. We will of course return, my partners first time but will not be our last time. I would go so far as to say it was our best dining experience by far, thank you Cherry Tree you’ve got it just right .

Excellent food, great friendly staff and a nice atmosphere

Been a nice find this one and second time here. Really nice staff, great service, and the food is fabulous. It’s not often I enjoy all three courses when I go out but they do everything so well and the menu is varied and interesting.

We recently celebrated my mums 80th st The Cherry Tree and it was lovely. The staff were so attentive… especially Cole. The food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back again.

5☆ service. Jacob was our server, he made us feel welcome and helped make our occasion a pleasant one. We came for our anniversary. The complimentary glass of prosecco was a nice touch too.

Lovely place to share a meal/drink with friends and family best restaurant in the Bolton area.

New menu wasn’t as good as expected, not enough choices and very limited with fish and chicken dishes.

Restaurant very clean, plenty of space between tables, food very good and reasonably priced, not sure if that days staff training or the restaurant being somewhat quiet encouraged the staff to be overly attentive, I appreciate this may sound a bit like sour grapes but being told that every choice we made was a “great choice” and checking back on every course was slightly irritating, only one more criticism was the lack of variety in 0% beers.we will return and recommend to friends.

Lovely food as always, had to wait a bit as they were busy, but did not affect the afternoon.

We were a family of 4 adults and 1 child. The food and service and place is lovely but we didn’t enjoy being placed in the lean to where the plastic windows are it was ok from the side but so cold 🥶 from the back of our booth we were at the end of the building. It would be ok in the summer but too 🥶 for this time of year for us anyway I will go back again but would ask to be indoors next time.

Loved our dinner at The Cherry Tree! All four starters were very tasty, Garlic & Chili Prawns, Wild Mushroom Scotch Egg, Soup of the Day, which was Cauliflower and Potato and the Spiced Cauliflower and Onion Bhajis. Also had a Mozzarella Garlic Pizza bread to share which disappeared quickly! Two of us had the braised beef on garlic mash, which was excellent, especially the chasseur sauce. The beef just melted. One of us had the slow braised beef and ale pie and the other had the Angus beef burger, both of which were delicious. The chips with the beef and ale pie were excellent; I scoffed those that were left. The service from Aaron was really great. He made sure our evening went without any hitches and was a super host! Good conversation and not obtrusive. Thanks Aaron! No desserts, as we were all full with the starter and mains! The noise in the bar area made it difficult to hear a conversation (which can sometimes be a blessing! :) but once in the restaurant area, the noise level was a comfortable level. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really good. Nothing bad to say at all. The prices match the quality of the food and service and is definitely way above just about anywhere else in the Bolton / Blackrod area for both quality and service for a fair price. All the staff were really nice, from the moment we walked in until we said cheerio. They certainly gave the impression that they enjoyed their work which his not always the case in restaurants these days. Would definitely recommend The Cherry Tree for either a mid to large group and also for a romantic dinner for two! Great evening!

There was an issue with the lamb dinner however the problem was fixed promptly. The gentleman who helped us even gave us complimentary cocktails and didn't charge for the main meal. This was above and beyond what we expected, we really appreciate the service! Thank you!! We will be coming back

Absolutely wonderful lunch had for my husbands 50th birthday lunch (just the 2 of us), front of house was amazing, very welcoming and wished my husband happy birthday, took us to a lovely table, had high expectations at this point and it just got better. Then 2 glasses of Champagne arrived and a birthday card on the table for my husband, with our waiter again wishing him happy birthday. Staff were all wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, weren’t rushed, made our lunch very special. We had the sharing platter which was delicious, £30 for the 2 of us, I didn’t eat at thing until the next day. Overall experience 10/10, staff were amazing and atmosphere great, food 5 star, location was perfect….. can’t wait to go back.

I booked afternoon tea for a birthday celebration for 4 ladies on a week day and my request to change one of the sandwiches due to allergy was changed. I was unfamiliar with the location so I can’t comment but the venue itself is so beautiful! It seemed busy for a midweek afternoon but the server said that was normal, it wasn’t unbearable though and the nose level was not a distraction. A very thoughtful gesture was the birthday card they gave to my mum from all at ‘The Cherry Tree’ 👌🏼 Having never been before, the afternoon tea options were explained along with the great selection of unlimited tea and coffee. My one and only grumble is that I asked three times for a jug of tap water which eventually came when we had almost finished…by no means a deal breaker though. We all agreed we will return and 2 of the ladies will be going back on 1st March to experience their advertised dinner show ‘Eastern Promise’

The restaurant is beautiful inside, we sat in the garden room. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was perfectly nice, however we were left a little underwhelmed.

Ate at around 5ish restirant quiet and a little cold due to doors open. Alot of road noise. But don't let this put you off service and food where brilliant. We have always had a great meal, but it is a little pricey.

This was the first time we had been to the restaurant. There was a good choice on the menu and the food delicious. The reason we went was to celebrate a birthday and it was a lovely surprise to receive a birthday card. We will definitely go again.

Was a lovely evening, food and staff were superb, the only hiccup was that we was sat in the corner with plastic outside covering which was nice but the speaker was directly above us and it was rather loud to have a comfortable conversation, I know the speakers need to be somwhere so it was just unfortunate that they were above us. Everything was lovely, the food, service, ambiance and the place. The one thing that does ruin the experience is their discount card. Upon arrival I made the receptionist aware I had their discount card (10% off all food). She told me the system identified I was a regular customer and I had their discount card, however the system never automatically applies the discount to the bill. You have to ask for the discount when the bill is given to you. I’m of the opinion this is deliberate in the hope you don’t notice it or fail to ask for it. It should be automatic.

Party of 3 adults. We went to Cherry Tree on Valentines day evening for my daughters birthday. From walking through the door to leaving, the service was great. All the staff were happy, polite, thoughtful, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. We were sat in a booth which I liked. They gave my daughter a birthday card, which was a lovely touch. Approximately 7pm live music was played which was also a nice touch fir Valentines day. It wasn't too loud. There was a good choice of food and it all tasted good. The only little thing I can actually criticise was the 2 fillet steaks that we had. We asked for both medium. One was slightly under cooked and one was slightly over cooked, but they were lovely steaks and it didn't bother us, so we didn't send them back etc, as there was no point. The mozzarella garlic bread was amazing and the mushrooms in garlic butter were also enjoyable. Katsu curry was also good. Drinks all good. Price not cheap, but not overpriced either. We'll priced for nice, home cooked food. We were not rushed at all and they had plenty of staff working I would definitely recommend and we will be returning. I would give 4.5 out of 5.

The new area is a bit noisy. Drinks are very expensive. Food and service were at the usual high standards.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with our eldest son.Food was exceptional.Two ate from the Market menu and one from the small portion lunch.We all had minute steak which was cooked to perfection.Good time enjoyed by all.

Everything was spot on except we thought the desserts were too expensive especially for lunch time. A mini dessert and coffee option would be good.

Beautiful surroundings . Delicious afternoon tea , friendly attentive staff . My only complaint would be we were given a tiny pot of tea resulting in us having to share , we really should have been given a pot each given the size of the pots , however , this was quickly resolved when brought to the staffs attention .

The staff are ways happy and helpful and the food can be relied upon to be tasty. My mum is in a wheelchair and the table was ready for us with a chair removed to ensure there was no fuss which I appreciate. I will be going back soon

We came for Sunday dinner last week and enjoyed it so much we decided to come back again. The roast dinner was delicious the beef was really delicious as well as the rest of the meal.

Service was excellent and Kitt was particularly attentive. The roast dinner was very good with plenty of lovely vegetables. Would definitely return and recommend The Cherry Tree.

With a few tweaks this could be a five star restaurant! The service I would say needs stepping up a gear and be a bit more personal rather than robotic introductions etc Starter cutlery and side plates should be removed if not being used and shouldn’t be at the request of the customer for this to be removed. Table water should be offered as a matter of course. A bit more space between tables would be good. Also if a yanks isn’t ready please don’t direct elderly customers to high chairs / tables - be a bit more thoughtful and accessible. Food is good but £6.05 a pint is too much

Still a great place to drink and eat but becoming too expensive for regular visits. It's a special place but not that special to justify food and drink prices. Will probably go again whilst looking for an alternative restaurant.
