Amazing pub and great team. Really loved the Laine beer!

Haven’t been back after they kicked me out because I’d been there since 5 and it was now 10 , the women said I was only allowed one more drink for me and my girlfriend for no reason.. but I didn’t show I was drunk or give them attitude once.

We came here for lunch on a Bank Holiday weekend, randomly picking it from Google maps as we were in the area. The 5 stars speak for themselves - the staff were attentive, the food was excellent and the atmosphere very cosy and welcoming. The burgers in particular were nicely done with freshly-made coleslaw and cooked just on the right side of medium rare. It did start to get busier later in the day, but I'm sure if you book you won't be disappointed. The place has some good board games, too.

Great if you have a dog, super pet friendly! Lots of TVs to watch the rugby. They always have a deal on food (LOVE a burger!) and great beer options! & lovely staff to top it off 👍🏻

Meant to visit this place for ages since I've passed it cycling to work couple hundred times few years back. And then the day has come: we had occasion with my buddy to take pictures of just released statue based on 2000AD character. What we didn't think of was the fact it was Mother's Day and everything was busy but we were given small table next to the entrance and Steve has managed to get few great pictures of Alpha. Great looking pub, kinda traditional but with more space and staff would welcome you at the door. Even staff got interested and governor was fan of 2000AD in his younger age. Good - and fast - pour of Guinness, polite service, would visit again, just in less busy times.

Regular at their pub quiz. Good fun on a Sunday evening and expect to have your brain challenged. Each week written by the quiz master so no internet rounds. Always topical Good food, friendly staff and just had a lovely make over

I will not be going back… Me and my boyfriend are regular customers, we used to love going to this pub until last Thursday night, we went for a couple drinks around 5pm and were rudely told by I believe a Polish woman called Anna that we must leave around 9pm. When my boyfriend asked her why she is asking us to leave she was very hesitant about what to answer. We were absolutely not drunk as we only had about 4 drinks each and a meal each. We were sitting in a corner and not disturbing anyone. We were very surprised as there were other customers which also came at 5pm and they were not asked to leave. I am extremely disappointed with this service. I would not recommend anyone to go there and I will definitely not be going back.

The staff is amazing! Especially Jake who was a major help when I spilled my drink everywhere. The prices are good and is right by the station Overall a great time!

Great local pub! The Holden is a great local friendly pub which serves good food. The bar staff and Patrick the manager are always friendly and helpful. The food is very tasty, including their fish & chips and meaty sausage rolls which are made on the premises and have a warm spicy bite from the Nduja sausage meat. The hot chocolate and Christmas mulled wine are good too! The pub has a new name- The Holden (previously The Charles Holden) and has just undergone a refurb, which has given it a warm, welcoming, calm, cosy and rustic feel in sharp contrast to the busy urban life of Colliers Wood outside! We will be back for a drink and more sausage rolls soon! Suggested area for improvement: Excellent beer and wine menu, but we miss not being able to have a Bacardi rum with our coke. Would be great if you could bring it back. Well done on your fabulous refurb. Keep up the good work guys! Best wishes Billy & Trish XX

A charmless refurb, and only one veggie/vegan main.

Couldn't recommend The Holden enough, especially for match days! We went for the rugby and it was a brilliant atmosphere. The staff were incredible and the drinks were delicious. I would highly recommend trying the new cocktail menu too!

My friends & I went to watch the 6 nations here & it was such a great experience! Will definitely be back to try the food as it looked so good. We loved the new cocktail menu & the Guinness was one of the best in London (if you know you know). Definitely a new fave pub they've done a great job with the place

Pubs facelift looks incredible!

Had lunch here today. Great food slow cooked shoulder of lamb pie delicious. Very good and friendly service.

Would have had food but menu unavailable as Christmas party was taking place in side room.. staff friendly.

Really friendly staff, lovely pub

Without being rude to the owners and premises I didn't expect much. Pie and pint deal excellent at £15.50 and could substitute wine for beer. Food was excellent. Don't judge a book by the cover. I would return if visiting London.

Went to the Charles Holden to watch the Rugby World Cup final. I had made a mistake with my booking and the staff were incredibly helpful. Thankfully they arranged a table for us and we had the best time. Great service and great atmosphere.

Over visiting my Daughter and her Partner so popped in for a few scoops only. Staff were great and chatty. Didn't have food but my Daughter and friends have been a few times and said it's well worth a visit.

We just had our wedding reception at the Charles holden pub and what a fabulous day it was. We reserved the outside bar and gazebo which was plenty of space for our guests. We had lovely tapas and then mains of fish and chips, beef burger and the mushroom burger which were all delicious and decent size portions. A special shout out to Hannah, Ben and Patrick for helping to organise everything and making sure the day ran smoothly.

Expensive drinks. Though upwards of £7 for a drink is what you might expect opposite a tube station

Great place wood oven pizzas cold beer plenty of out door seating shame weather was grey but definitely worth a visit and a stones throw away from tune station.

The staff were nice and friendly, the beer garden is a great size for a London pub. Had a great selection of beer with Laine Brew Co beers on draught.

I've been coming to this pub for almost 2 years, best fish and chips! Today I was incredibly disappointed when I found out that now this is a Japanese restaurant.

A solid local. Nothing fancy and certainly not terrible. Extra points for being next to a park!

Always a top tier pub. Best in the area, close to Colliers Wood Tube Station and just across from the main bus stops. Very well staffed, a gorgeous building and a team that go out of the way to please. Very child and dog friendly, big tvs (well placed to cater to all), enormous garden with different areas. The food is superb although there could be more starter/snacky items. Amazing beer selection including local breweries. Alcohol free options. Welcoming for new visitors and regulars alike.

Food was great and nice lunch not much choice but food was lovely chicken salad was great, but small for the price of it, but it was very tasty maybe add more tomatoes only had 2 cut in half and salad but I enjoyed it and my kids meal was great too Will come again look forward to seeing new menu when I visit again

Menu online didn't quite match what was available on the day. Staff were friendly and explained delays. Food was well presented, the right temperature and delicious.

Pubs in Ireland are rated by their welcome and this English pub is right up there among them. Wonderful staff ( we met two - an Irish woman and a English woman) whose attention to detail and helpfulness to two passing travellers was second to none and quite frankly better than you would get in Ireland. Warm and friendly atmosphere that is designed tastefully inside and outside with the customers relaxation to the foremost in their design. Get there - ask for a Pims and watch the effort made to make your drink a special one!! Owner, a friendly gentleman who not only is a good businessman but keenly understands the concept of Fáilte (Welcome!) which he as entrusted to his staff!

A decent pub opposite Colliers Wood Northern line station and very aptly named too. There was a decent selection of beer, although a couple of the Laine offerings were off. The pub was quite big and bar ladies were friendly. The food is supposed to be good so would sample if in the area again.

Irish lady (possibly manager) was very rude and aggressive towards me and my family that were dining in. We order two plates of ale battered Fish and chips which was delicious along with a pint of Guinness, Johnny Walker and Old Mout. The male bartender was friendly and accommodating . Such a shame for the poor service from the female bartneder, as the Irish lady was like an aggressive pit-bull that refused to let us eat our meal in peace and focus on us the entire time approaching us on two occasions. She even threatened us by warning she will ask us to leave. We were not rowdy or disturbing anyone on the premises yet she decided to focus on me and my family that were visiting London. I would say that this was borderline racism and it’s such a shame as me and my friends are regulars at this pub, I just won’t be returning again.

Went on Saturday night, It was great live music and great atmosphere. The service really good and friendly staff

I just popped in for a drink after a stressful day at work, and I really want to acknowledge the staff member, Kat. She provided great service, not only for me, but her charisma and enthusiasm were all over the place. It was beautiful to watch hospitality staff who enjoy what they do and I wish it would be more hospitality staff like her around London.

Fantastic pub in Colliers Wood, fantastic food, great selection of beers and a really well-sized garden. We popped in for the Sunday quiz which was really good fun, service was a little on the slow side, but the pub was packed out so I can't really complain too much.

Fish and Chips- as it should be- crispy batter and tasty flaky fish fillet. Flat Iron Steak are also fantastic

Opposite Colliers wood underground station. Large selection of beers and friendly staff. A lovely outside area for a sunny summers day....has everything you can ask for in a pub. Didn't have food but saw some dishes being served and looked lovely

Really nice place and food is amazing but it is shame that it runs by someone very arrogant with poor customer service, they just serve randomly at the bar, doesn’t matter to them how long you been waiting to be served and when you say I was there before, the owner start’s shouting at you in front of the customers and stuff and then if that’s not enough comes to your table and still carries on biting your head off in front of your disabled child and more customers, Instead of an apology you almost getting kicked out off the restaurant for telling them that you were there before the other person. Doesn’t matter how good the food is as a customer no one deserves to be treated that way, especially in front of your autistic child. Please avoid this place and teach him how to treat customers to serve properly with respect.

23/04/23 - realise the bar staff are one man down but just want to say they are doing a stellar job. Thank you especially to the lovely Irish bar man (apols don’t know your name) but I asked for some more flatbread with the homous we had ordered and without hesitation you gave me some at no extra charge. Super appreciated esp as I know you were busy! Will def be back! Ps. Hats off to the chef food was delicious

Booked a table online for 5 people but got there & were given a table for 4 so had to be moved. Then we were given a menu that was just a piece of paper on a clip board when I asked for a child's menu (we were given an adults menu with a C in brackets meaning that dish came as a kids option. Which is confusing when nobodyexplains it to you) yet there were no prices for the kids items so we had to go & ask at the till. Then we went to the bar to get drinks & the guy told us they don't do any drinks for kids so I asked if they had cordial & they did (so yes you do have drinks for kids then). The first glasses were dirty so I asked for clean glasses to then be given 2 glasses with lipstick around them & a flat lager shandy. Asked for the manager & he told us there are a lot of agency staff there & they are going through some transitions... I work in hospitality & there is no excuse for dirty glasses & no prices on menus. If the staff don't know how to do something they need to have full training days before they are put onto shifts as it's not fair on the customers or the staff. A handful of lovely staff but sadly the majority didn't have a clue what was going on or how to resolve customer complaints which were pretty basic things. I had the half roast chicken Sunday dinner & for £17 I expected it to be better. The chicken was dry as there was barely any gravy, I was given 3 roast potatoes & 1 was burnt & inedible, the veg was incredibly minimal & my cauliflower was rock hard like it had barely been cooked. We'd of had a better dinner at a Toby Carvery. It was just all over the place from the get go with poor customer skills & an obvious lack of knowledge from at least 3 of the staff we dealt with. The manager was however lovely (Irish gentleman) & did attempt to help us but the tone was already set by then & he even seemed embarrassed himself at how things were. My family & I aren't from the area so were hoping even more so it would be a lovely meal for Easter together. Unfortunately it wasn't & I don't think we'll be visiting again in a hurry.

Netter kleiner gemütlicher Pub. Tolles Essen, aufmerksame und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Schade das wir ca 12 Stunden weit weg wohnen, sonst wären wir gerne öfter dort.

Asked for a bottled beer. Was offered Birra Morreti. Am acquired taste. Asked if you have anything else and was told no. Only to see Heineken at the other end of the bar. Either too lazy or too stupid.

A group of friends and I went to watch England playing in the World Cup. There are TVS all over the place and you can watch the matches indoors also outdoors. The staff is helpful and the food is ok. We tried the Spice wings which was very hot but yummy!

Probably the best pub in colliers wood

Such a friendly place, we went there for a Sunday roast. The portions were huge and very tasty. We've had enough space for a buggy and high chair as well.

We came here mid week and had a delicious fish and chips followed by a really nice banana and pecan cake. Good selection of beer and the staff were friendly. Overall one of the best pubs in Colliers Wood.

If there's a space book you're Xmas meal / do the menu andprices are the best localy you won't be disappointed. Woow !!! All round thank you all well be back ( ps food top quality produce very well cooked / and presented ) staff very friendly and attentive .

Only thing is the Sundays quiz game, if you are not into it, you can't talk basically because then you are too load.

Would give it 5 stars if the toilets were a bit less smelly. Food here was awesome.

Really rude staff, unprofessional...I don't recommend this pub!!! Another thing is, when we made a complaint through the online review, inside the place, a member of the team came to ask "why" we made the complaint. Excuse me??? As far as I know, the review is open and individual !!! Why shouldn't I file a claim?? My first and last time at this place.

Had a couple of starters. Was very average.

Friendly staff, easy to book a table for a large family (11). The Sunday roasts were good value and presented well but all were lukewarm when they arrived and the staff started clearing the plates when some of the family were still eating. Wines were good and lovely desserts on offer.

Great pub and garden and lovely staff. However went for dinner recently and was very very disappointed by the food. Sausages were not very nice and mash had chunks of raw (not fried off so very raw/ sharp) onion and parsley. Such a shame as we love it when not eating :)

Food is meh, slow service and having to wait to get sauces / condiments at the bar while your food goes cold is annoying. Drinks are extremely expensive - more than zone 1 prices. The garden is nice however
