The Castle Inn in Pembrokeshire

We didn’t stay here but visited twice within a week because the food and service was fantastic! Booked in for a roast on Sunday which I highly recommend. Even though it was a busy Mothering Sunday the service was still friendly and prompt. Came back later in the week for a lovely lunch on a quieter day and our dog was spoiled with treats. Loved this pub and will definitely come back.

Stayed on saturday night, fantastic welcome, the service and food was top draw, all the staff couldn't do enough. Was also dog friendly and the place was spotless will definitely be popping in to stay again. Also a nice safe on site car park which we felt our motorbike was safe enough just under the security cameras.

Had a very nice meal, very good, quick and helpful service even though the pub/ restaurant was quiet full.

Called here on the way back to our Cottage after a long day walking. Made to feel most welcome by everyone so we then knew this was a good place to be. The restaurant area is beautiful and clean and a lovely calming atmosphere. The food was just perfect and so good, I was driving so I had the recommended zero alcohol beer on draft which tasted so good. Well worth a visit even if just for a drink to sample their warm hospitality, we loved the evening which polished off our day beautifully, with thanks to this lovely people.

We’ve been visiting Newport for 7 years now we always make several visits to the Castle. Last night ( 10th) we took our young Labrador in for her first ever visit. The hospitality was superb the food and drink out of this world as usual. Thank you to all we will be back before we go home

A lovely pub with lots of character and space inside and out. What a fabulous Sunday lunch - the beef was cooked to perfection with lots of vegetables, a plentiful delicious plate of food thoroughly enjoyed by all. The owners and team of staff are really accommodating and can’t do enough for you. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Dropped in for lunch on bank holiday weekend and was very pleased. Sunday menu had the customary meat/veg lunch options but also various others like fish’n’chips, burgers etc. We had the fish’n’chips and were impressed - one of the most tasty I’ve had for a long time. Staff were very helpful and friendly - definitely recommend.

Returned to our favourite place to eat and drink in Pembrokeshire. As normal we had the best welcome and fantastic food. If you visit here you won’t be disappointed. It’s so good to to have a friendly local so far from home.

In Central Newport this Inn is well positioned for local and holiday custom. The food was excellent and the knowledge of gluten free requirements was exceptional.

We had an amazing meal here, again . The football was on the television but we were able to sit in the other bar away from the large screen . The food here never disappoints. My fiancé had the faggots and said they were very tasty . I am vegetarian and most places only offer the same goods - usually curry . I opted to have the No Catch Pie. It was amazing . Absolutely delicious. I would definitely have it again . We didn’t have room for anything else but the people next to us had the homemade scones. They looked really good .Would advise booking your table as they are often booked up .

Great Atmosphere in fantastic surroundings. Took our dog who was most welcome. They even had a menu for dogs! So he can recommend the chicken and rice. We had some amazing starters and beautifully cooked main courses. Despite being busy the staff were courteous and helpful and service was excellent. Smalling parking area adjacent to pub. 10/10

Warning — Would highly recommend booking early for this venue. We popped in for a beer or 2 and all the tables inside were booked. Very nice Pub, sat outside and watched the World go by.

We have spent one night after arriving to Fishguard from Ireland. We could park the car next to the Hotel, the room was good and we have had a great home made breakfast this morning

Lovely atmosphere and food, super accommodating in the bar area for dogs! Slightly slow service but we were seated just after a large table of 8 and were a table of 7 ourselves.

We've been here a few times over the years and went here again for Sunday lunch as a group of 6 adults, a 2-year-old, and a dog. Glyn and his team were fantastic, again. Nothing is too much trouble, and we were made to feel so welcome, which is wonderful for a group with a toddler and a dog. Sunday lunch was wonderful, too! Will be back again soon.

A very welcoming inn, with restaurant and rooms to let. Efficiently run with helpful and friendly staff. Very dog friendly with their own menu and watering stations. Plenty of outside seating , both under cover and not. A small carpark with reserved spaces for residents....

Spent a very pleasurable Saturday afternoon and night there. The staff and owners were all very friendly and helpful. A small car park to dine of the inn has 3 reserved spots for residents to park their cars. There are 3 letting rooms all of which are family rooms, with two singles and double bed. All are ensuite and nicely appointed and decorated. Our room had a shower over the bath and was spotless. As were the bed linen and towels. Down stairs are 2 bar areas and a lovely dining room. Outside seating is both covered and open and quite spacious. This old inn is very dog friendly, with a doggie menu and watering bowls aplenty. As the inn is situated in the center of town the shops etc are all very handy. There is a bus stop right outside the property with regular service to Cardigan and Fishguard. The Castle offers lunch and dinner dining with a good menu featuring vegan, vegetarian and trad food. We were treated to a lovely ham salad sandwich at lunch and a very tasty and well cooked and served dinner. After a good night's sleep we were happily served with a lovely breakfast by the cheerful landlord Glyn. We hope to return soon.

I had a 'mini' fish a chips as I only wanted something small. It was very nice and well cooked and presented but I wouldn't say it was value for money at 11.50. It was very small, somewhat 'mini'scule. The fish was little more than a single goujion.

I ate here twice recently and both times the food was very good. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. I would recommended the Sea Dog - spiced, battered haddock in a ciabatta with all the trimmings. I could have eaten it twice if I hadn’t been so full!

Always a pleasure to visit the Castle Inn and enjoy Glyn & Alison’s excellent establishment. We love the ambience, service and food made all the better by the warm welcome we always receive. One thing is certain, won’t be long before we are back again.

Delicious chicken & vegetable pie and incredible cheesecake. I could taste the quality of the dairy in that incredible cheesecake, one of the best desserts I had in Wales. I had the ribeye as well, which was good but not as good as the chicken pot pie. I also appreciated the bar going out of their way to combine my small coins into large ones.
