Delivery driver arrived wearing a union jack face mask and was unpleasant at door. No sauce was provided despite being ordered. Won't be ordering again and will encourage people to not order from here also.

I have been here before a few times and decided to take my mother out in February 2020, just a few weeks ago, it's a simple cafe but I know my mother likes it, my wife came along as well and we all ordered fish and chips with peas which we all enjoyed.The peas were rather dry but the fish was excellent and washed down with glasses of coke a cola it was a simple and inexpensive meal out and we do intend to go back again sometime, however, it is not for everyone as it rather down market some might call it a greasy spoon cafe but if you enjoy simple inexpensive food then give it a try and make your own mind up.

Got a fish supper raw chips an raw fish! Beware of food poisoning! The staff are not the nicest or the cleanest looking either i sent the fish back! They offered me another one! But i declined. An because i had spat most of raw food out! I told them to keep the 11.00 pounds! They refused to give me owners name! Well they clearly have something to hide! My mother recently got cod as normal but the batter was so soggy she could not eat it. As for the soup I had it was like champ.

Reservamos una mesa para una comida familiar sabiendo que estaría ocupado. Llegamos y les dijimos que teníamos una reserva. La joven se fue y regresó 5 minutos después de haber hablado con el dueño. My husband I were on our last night of our Easter holidays before going back to work and decided to go there with our son for t. It was very busy but we didn't mind as we were next in line to be seated. We spotted a free table and sat down.the next thing the owner came over and said "did someone give you that table" asked us to go as he had a group of four coming in then continued to give the table to an elderly couple behind us. Rude is an understatement will never be back Ever. My family and I are local and would eat in here in the winter months quite a bit and put s lot of business his way. Not anymore I will tell all far and wide to stay away. Go somewhere where they appreciate you custom and you hard earned cash

My family and I visited and were amazed at the memories it brought back to us. The booths and the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was warm, tasty and the staff were very helpful.

Bought 10 portions of chips for a small party in the house and to be honest it was a disgrace. There was about 25 chips per portion. We would have got more in 2-3 chips from Manny’s.

I have never had a problem with Captain's table before until now. I ordered of their app, and when it came to typing in my new address. But I didn't realise my order was on it's way to my old address. I said on the lady on the phone I wonder if it did go my old address. Then I was told the delivery driver left the food outside my old house, and if I wanted to get the same order again I would have to pay in full again. So I find the the app a bit annoying and confusing.

Llama aquí esta semana y nos dieron un bacalao a, pero tuvimos que llevar el bateador como tengo un serio trigo un huevo d alergia. Sin embargo, comer mi compañeros estaban comiendo el bateador con entusiasmo. El pescado estaba hermoso gruesas y. Pedimos una comida de un valor de 17 libras, por error como id sesión mi portátil mi anterior dirección vinieron y por error forogot cambiar. a 10 - 15 minutos me puse la tienda por teléfono con la nueva dirección y que no me preocupara que esto sucede todo el tiempo. 25 minutos después de conseguir un texto para decir que había sido entregado a la dirección incorrecta.

I was about to sit down and compose a comprehensive review, but having read the one by Des G below (under “Terrible”), I have to say I’d just be repeating his, word for word. Except to add that the food was lukewarm, and the fish had seen fresher days.

The best fish and chips in Glengormley. A lovely touch that the owner approached us asking if we wanted more tea. The small things matter.

El último viernes de llamado en lugar para llevar. Pescado y patatas fritas eran geniales como siempre, pero un verdadero lujo por estar entretenidos como esperaba por mi orden! He comido en este establecimiento un número de veces y cada vez la comida y el servicio ha sido excelente. El tamaño de las porciones son buenos y te dejen una sensación llena. El menú de niños es bueno y la comida que sirven es fresco. La única queja es que la ropa huele mal cuando te marchas, pero merece la pena. También me gusta cuando el personal te da una buena recarga de té recién cuando haya terminado la primera olla. Este restaurante es el tipo cuando era joven y siempre volver.

Was here last Sunday evening with my Son and my Grandson who is 8yrs old.He asked for 2 sausages and beans, I had the fish ( which was huge ) with some chips, which were nice and my Son had Chicken. The food was delicious, no greasy food here. the fish was the full size of the plate, very well cooked to how i like it. My Son and Grandson ate all their food also, so what's that tell me, that we will be back again very soon. the staff was friendly and we did'nt have to long either. The place was packed, between people sitting in and a queue for other people to take away, they did very well with the service.Nice place to go on Sunday evening. Definitely recommend the fish : )

Me and my partner love this place. Best curry cheesy chips and pasties you'll ever try! Not cheap to sit in as far as chippies go but worth it. Friendly staff and good food. Always busy too!

Let me say at the outset the reviewers saying this place has good food and friendly staff,must have shares in the place.This place used to be known as Greasy Joe's.An excellent chippy Owned by Bill and Maggie Twyford, they fed most of Glengormley for decades.We went in for a fish and chip supper, tea bread and butter, the waitress lashed the plate of half cold food, and tea stuff onto the table,like she was in a hurry to get back on her smart phone, from which we had aroused her. Incidentally we were there for 35 mins on a Friday afternoon,we were the only diners. Plenty of stuff on the plates, alas quantity doesn't make up for quality.( Chips were on at least their 3rd reheat. Thanks but no Thanks, Goodnight Vienna.PS To add to the suffering, the seating was possibly the worst I have ever had to sit on,Pine planks I Ask You !

If a good fish supper is your thing then the Captains Table is for you. With a wide variety of foods for breakfast lunch dinner and ice cream you cant go wrong. Even if you have gluten problems just ask the staff and they will prepare your food in a seperate deep fat fryer as they understand the problems related to gluten intolerance. Good food good service clean and pleasant.

I asked for a pepper chip and i waited for nearly half an hour they gave me my order and gave me a gravy chip i said no i asked for a pepper chip so i had to wait for another 5 or 10 mins otherwise the food is great

The food here is excellent if you like good old fish and chips etc. However everything is served with chips or salad or rice. No Potatoes that I'm aware of. Possibly baked potatoes. The portions are massive and taste fantastic. Also reasonably priced considering the size. Food ranges from plain sausages to a good steak with Pepper Sauce. This is just a standard old time cafe. Only downside is service is very slow and seats are wooden and very uncomfortable. Could do with being cushioned!

Went today as a family for some dinner, nice chip shop on lovely seaside coast. Food took a long time to come out but was very nice once we got it, wasn't too keen on the cod batter but apart from that very nice , I had the cod supper along with my mother , I liked it, she didn't , my dad had the fry and it was nice and the younger had the fish fingers and she scoffed it lol, staff very helpful and nice, food nice but waited almost 20 mins for a chippy which was disappointing.

feel that this chip shop has went downhill over the past few years . dont really go anymore although ordered delivery few wks ago fish was nice chips seemed reheated a few times . food bit greasy . they need to clean there act up i think and get back to taking more care of customers than just getting money.

Simple, efficient, quick and good.When you order from a chippy for delivery you have limited expectations as it's not a complicated process. So when it does go wrong you are generally very unhappy; how did it go wrong...Thankfully this is not the case for Captains Table.Our order is always speedy, good quality and reasonably priced. Chips are not soggy, but just right, meal deals are indeed a deal, and every time they arrive we always seem to get something extra thrown in such as a drink or a side.As daft as it sounds the delivery drivers are great. Come rain, snow, sleat or sun the drivers always have a smile and wait patiently at the door.My recommendations: The Suthern Fried Chicken meal deal @ £4.95.The Meal for 2 Pizza & Southern Fried Chicken Deal @ £11.Ive not sat in the restaurant yet but for great the price of delivery you can't go wrong sitting at home, feet up and having a cheery delivery man drop it at your door.

The foods not bad buts it's dear for what it is and I find most of the staff rude ignorant and not interested. The very least you should expect as a customer is someone looking you in the eye when they're grunting at you.

Like a lot of local businesses I think that whilst it's not just as good as it used to be it's still pretty decent and worth a visit. The fish can vary rather dramatically in size & it's great when you get given one of the large ones & not so good when you get one about half the size as they're all the same price but the fish tastes very fresh & the batter is good and the chips are very good too. I recommend it for a tasty fish supper....can't speak about other things on the menu as we are creatures of habit!!

My sister was home from Texas and on one of her last nights we decided to go for fish and chips. There were 6 adults and one child - when you place your order you also pay at the counter - I was shocked to hear they did not accept any cards at all. I was told to go outside and use one of the cash machines nearby. When the food arrived it was crisp, fresh and delicious. The ice cream to follow was also great. My sister was very pleased.

This chippie has gone downhill. Used to be one of the best in the area but now staff are rude and place is grubby. Better chippy in area.

not much to say, large sit in area, take away area, large selection of food, pretty standard quality for a chippy, southern fried chicken is always cooked fresh, is very moist and has a great flavour, best in a wrap with salad and mayo!

everything that is prepared in the captains table is fresh and properly prepared. their fish is in my opinion, the best I have tasted. no grease and crispy. we usually would get a carryout here roughly once every couple of weeks and would recommend paying a visit

I love to go here as it has fantastic food for every one whether for a take away or to sit in whatever suit you. They also deliver so it's even handier no excuse to order. The staff are polite and friendly it certainly has my approval 10 out of 10.

This is a place I have been to for many years, as have my parents and all my friends. The food menu has all sorts of choices now, but still the good old fashion fish supper with peas, is hard to beat, the chicken curry half and half is another tasty meal, the chicken pieces put kfc to shame, the prices are cheap and the portion sizes are massive, an that's me saying this, but they're hard to finish.. Ya really have to try and see for yourself....

Nice chip shop which offers more than fish and chips. You can get pizza, curry etc, nice enough food ok staff, can wait quite awhile for food to come out. Very affordable and nice for a quick fast food fix.

Lunchtime specials are hard to beat for price, flavour & size.All the booths are numbered & you simply order your food at the till, quoting your booth number.Only negative is that service can sometimes be a bit on the slow side!

Have eaten in, delivery and collection too many times. The chicken curry is brilliant! Chips brilliant! Battered cod is going downhill. Batter is way too thick... its not cooking through... we don't eat the batter but the cod is good, so its a trade off.

I have been eating here for 30 years and can only say that the current owners are doing a great job. I spent 10 years in England and travelled the length and breadth of the UK. I have only ever found 1 other chippy up to the standard of the captains table in quality, service, value and service Ye Old Chippy at Southend On Sea. So please remember that the staff are not just serving you they could have been on their feet for hours and still in a rush.Well done to Mark and all the staff for a great meal.

A very disappointing 'sit in' meal. The waitress cleared the table but didn't bother to wipe it down, to be honest she didn't appear to want to do anything and that included smile. The whole experience was uncomfortable and the food wasn't the best. My partner couldn't eat his fish and my burger bun had seen better days. Had we not been with my elderly parents I would have refused to pay but I didnt want to cause a scene and the waitress frightened me lol.
