I was staying in the city for about six weeks. I love desserts aka "sweets." I have never seen such an array at this spot and many others. I liked this spot for its setting as well.

A little average and a little to busy the day we were there, but still no complaints, coffee good and cakes lovely. But nothing to really make it stand out

Have walked past this café lots so decided to pop,in for lunch. We sat down at a table and being the only people in the café, we expected to be served quickly and efficiently. We sat for about 5 minutes without menus while the waitress stood behind the counter. A baker was also decorating a cake too. Needless to say we have better places to spend our money, thus we walked out. I will not be back. Rude and ungrateful for trade.

The delicious of smell of cake in this place is enough to make anyone hungry. I myself just fancied a fry for lunch and they serve a tasty Full Irish fry that comes with tea of coffee. The fry was nicer than other Frys I have had nearby! I will be back to try a something sweet definitely!

We had lunch here because we thought this looked like a nice traditional cafe. It's a great concept but poorly executed. The sandwiches and scone we had were of average quality. The staff were not great. We entered the cafe at 1pm and the staff seemed to be on lunch. Overall a poor experience and I would recommend others to give it a skip.

My daughter wanted to have her 11th birthday party here after we had visited for lunch a couple of times and the food and service was excellent. The tables were beautifully arranged with a special setting for the birthday girl. The girls were late arriving but the staff were totally relaxed and welcoming and could not have given a better service. The tiers of cakes, scones and numerous delicious treats didn't last long as they were so delicious but the girls still had room for the birthday cake as it was and I quote my daughter 'The best ever'! Highly recommend The Cake Shop for parties of all ages and of course for breakfast, lunch and dinner! (Be sure to try the pepperoni pizza!)

Called in for cuppa with my Mum and Sister while we were out shopping in Derry. We had all had a pot of tea which was beautifully presented in china tea cups. I decided to try the delicious homemade pancakes with Bacon and maple syrup, mum and my sister had the freshly baked scones which were served with fresh cream and jam – omg they smelled class. We all tried one of the beautifully baked cakes from the bakery display. The food was wonderful - all clean plates. The Cake Shop itself is charmingly decorated and it has this very relaxing feel to it. Very reasonable priced for such large portions. Excellent value for Money. Will definitely be calling back again soon.

Booked the Cake Shop for a hen party last night. They couldn't have been nicer. All the tables were set up so that none of the girls had their backs to each other. There was no rush, a few of the girls were late but the staff put no pressure on us to eat, instead they waited for everyone to arrive before they put out the food. The food was delicious, and catered to everyone, presentation was amazing, 3 tiers of cakes, sandwiches and scones as well as tea and coffee in beautiful vintage crockery. There was also a special cookie made for the bride and bridesmaid. Afterwards they made us champagne cocktails, which were beautiful. As we sat, the owner busied himself with decorating a cake - that in itself was a point of jealousy for the girls, they wanted it!! The Bride-to-be had a wonderful time and absolutely loved it! All in all a great evening and very appreciated by myself and the girls. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting to book a tea party!! A lovely place, run by lovely people.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a cake from the cake shop for a birthday party. I gave very short notice but this was no problem to the team here at the cake shop who ensured everything was ready in time and to an amazing standard. The cake decor was to perfection and as for the sponge inside...well lets just stay it didnt last for very long. I have also had the pleasure of calling into the cake shop over recent weeks for light lunch with my colleagues. Nestled in a quiet corner of the city centre it is very accessible and the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre for lunch, business meeting or afternoon tea. Inside the shop is very traditional and warming and you even get to see the expert at work finishing the cakes whilst you sip over your coffee. The service is great and the atmosphere is homely and this is truely a unique experience that you will find nowhere else in the town we love so well. Well Done guys and I look forward to getting back in again soon.

Whether you're just calling in for a coffee or lunch, you'll enjoy this little oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling city centre. The home made lunches are excellent and good value for money. The service is friendly and efficient and staff go out of their way to make your visit memorable and will offer advice on various visitor attractions and events, The cupcakes and cakes on offer are mouth-watering and a feast for the eye and are difficult to resist as you relax and enjoy your coffee. Definitely worth a visit for tourists and locals alike!

Try some of Sean's lovely home made soup along with his "to die for" Soda Farl bread. Had lovely birthday cake made for my nephew' s birthday. Pity to cut into the cake it looked so good. But it had to be eaten!!! Give this place a try.

Great late lunch of seafood chowder and fish and chips. The service was terrific and food as well. The fish and chips were so large that we could have split one between the two of us. Nice beer selection also.

Had a good Sunday Lunch here. Unfortunately we were the only diners at 1.00 pm which spoiled the atmosphere ,a few more diners came in as we were leaving after 2 . For starter I had the chicken liver parfait which was really good and my friend had the goat's cheese salad. For mains I had monkfish and mussels which was delicious and my friend had the turkey and ham which she said was good too. Portions are big withlots of side orders we had mash on the plates and sides of roasties , Yorkshire pudding carrot and parsnip and broccoli in cheese . A nice meal bill with a jug of orange was £40 for 2

On a walk around Derry we were needing a little java to keep up up our hill-climbing strength. The place was well staffed and fairly empty when we arrived but within 10 minutes there wasn’t a table open for anyone. Tried my first Long Black here and was very happy with the service and coffee flavour. Definitely great spot for tourists wanting a non-multinational experience. Sit inside or brave the Derry linguist sunshine outside at the picnic tables.
