The Cake Box in Hastings

This is a lovely little bakery that is definitely doing its best within the latest Covid-19 restrictions. The freshly prepared rolls are prepared to order to ones choice and are of good quality and a good price. Recommended. Enjoy.

Some of the best cakes and bread around. We often go there for filled rolls which come with generous fillings and are freshly made to order. One of few shops to sell Lardy cakes in the area. Staff are always friendly.

Had a couple of rolls from here that were made fresh to our request with various fillings - I just had plain salad with no butter but the other one was chicken salad. You can choose your roll as well which has been freshly baked at their other shop. Great bread pudding here as well Recommended Enjoy

Lovely cakes. Sooooo delicious and good value for money. Always very kind and happy staff in there. Have been coming here for random treats for the last few years. The bread always looks nice too. Recommend apple turnovers yummy.

Omg They looked good enough to eat on the shelf but even that didn’t do them justice I wish I had taken a picture but the were a surprise treat for in the car. And treat they were .., So full of juicy sultanas and the icing soft as snow The bun was melt in the mouth ..,, I’m sure you all know the advert but these are not buns there Hastings cake box buns x

Looking at the recent poor review here I am not sure where they were coming from or whether they were actually at the Cake Box. I have always found their food to be of good quality and tasty. Their freshly made rolls which are made to your tastes and request are always made quickly and are of great quality especially the lovely fresh salad. Definitely recommended here. Enjoy.

The most digusting chicken pie Ive ever tasted. It tasted like vinegar and cream and fell aprt all over me

Nice choice of cakes or freshly made rolls. They also sell lovely bread and great large teacakes. You can sit in or takeaway.parking is a bit tricky at times. Staff are hardworking and friendly and you never have to wait very long even when it’s busy.

Such a nice place run by wonderful staff always clean and helpful and have the best cakes and sandwich with easy parking

Like this bakery as they make fresh rolls for you. There is a small sitting area and a toilet. Only wish they would get their deliveries earlier as often when I go they have little stuff available until the delivery arrives from the main bakery. Staff are efficient and friendly.

This is a great little bakery shop and the rolls etc are all made freshly to your requirements and the cakes are made fresh each day The busiest times are when the schools finish so think of this when you visit here!!

You will not find a better tasting bakery around and to top it off the staff are incredibly friendly.

Really great cakes that are high quality yet huge portions. Most would easily serve two people. Don't leave it too late they do sell out.

Este Café es un lugar elegante y retro para beber té y comer pastel. Pasteles sabrosos y elección inusual pero animado de ligeras. El personal es muy amable y servicial, incluso proporcionaban un cronómetro que mi té spearmint fue preparado a la perfección! Está muy cerca de la playa y en el centro de la ciudad con tiendas de todo también muy útil!

So very very good.The Belgian buns are to die for. Huge, sticky, sweet and cheap. Definite go to cake for our family. Highly recommended

You need to get here early because it gets busy and the cakes sell out fast. Many times we have not been able to get a seat or even a takeaway cake. Prefer the original venue as it had more character but i guess you dont need to worry about the character when the cakes taste so good.

They do takeaway and they have a small sit down area. Its cheap but quality is good and staff are efficient and friendly even in rush hour.

I H ave visited the cakebox bakery on many occassions the girls who serve you are all marvellous and friendly and chatty they always greet you with a smile there cakes rolls bread pastries and pies are very tasty and value for money highly recommened.

I use the Fernside shop and I have to say that the bread is truly fabulous. Proper bread like you remember as a kid. None of this cheap weightless supermarket conveyor belt rubbish. The loaves are large, fresh and totally delish. My husband likes the harvester but I prefer the White, split tin or sandwich loaf. Cakes are enormous and the sandwiches always freshly made. The staff are fantastic too. Lovely traditional bakers - long may they reign. Would travel a lot of miles just to buy a loaf and found out that a friend of mine used to drive from Saltdean to St Leonards every week just to get some (that's about a 2 hour round trip) which tells you something!

I go here quite often (almost embarrassingly often) I usually order a sausage roll x2, a brownie and a chocolate shortbread for me and my partner and I have to say it is always lovely food. I have never had a problem. the staff is also wonderful. would recommend:)

As a Cake, Bread & Sandwich shop, this is a prefect little stop as they will freshly prepare any filled rolls or sandwiches for you - either hot of cold fillings.The vegetarian sausage was very good and tasty.Staff are very friendly and helpful

This place is a favourite of ours, they create MASSIVE portions, be it sandwiches, rolls or cakes, the choice is always great and really good value for money!

Appetising and large cakes, friendly staff BUT I used to order my bread from here to pick after work. It was sliced as requested but put in bags which were too small for the loaf. This resulted in squashed bread. This happened time after time until I asked for it to be put in two bags but the bread slicer had two teeth missing which resulted in two extra thick slices in each half. I complained but the staff said the owner knew about the slicer but hadn't done anything about it. This situation went on for several months and so, reluctantly ,I stopped using the shop.

These are the most enormous cakes at such very reasonable prices. They are however, totally delicious. Their size means they could never be considered refined, but their taste is always amazing. Really worth a visit. Take away rather than restaurant

Once again this shop and it's good service - always pleasant and very efficient - hasn't failed to come up to the mark.Definitely recommend that you try here for fresh bread, rolls, bread pudding or cakes.Try a fresh take away filled roll - hot or cold fillings.

The cake box is just round the corner from us, staff were very welcoming and friendly.Have been here many times now.They have great rolls with any filling of your choice, choose from baguettes or sandwiches. A variety of cakes and pasties (can be heated in the microwave if you wish) Children love the ginger bread men and sausage rolls.Slush puppy drinks available too.Eat in or take away!Value for money

This Local Cake Shop has a great choice and great service with all their cakes that are made locally daily at their other shop in Bohemia.You must try the Home-Made Bread Pudding! Ummm ( if theres any left - go quick)They also do prepared on the spot rolls, sandwiches, baguettes from their own fresh daily baked rolls -you choose which roll.Try the plain (no mayonnaise or Tuna) with salad - not many places do this with no additives!Enjoy
