The Cafe On The Green in Teignbridge

Visited Cafe on the Green for a cream tea. Over the years I have had many cream teas and the one provided by the Cafe on the Green was one of the best. The scone was lovely and light in texture, the jam was good and plenty of clotted cream was provided. The tea provided was very good. Service was provided promptly and with a smile. Will be returning again soon.

After taking my Jaguar for a trip around Dartmoor I end up in the Cafe on the Green.The cappuchino good and the cakes superb. Widecombe is beautiful with its walks,flora and fauna.There's a babbling brook. I live in Torquay and the cafe is my bolthole. Staff clean and presentable. See you soon!! Roger Hall

Perfect and luscious seasonal mince tarts. Full on flavour and crunchy almond top. The coffee is pretty good too as is all the food. Cosy log fires. Doggy friendly. Very attractive interior with vaulted ceilings. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Beautiful cosy cafe. Came in for lunch after a blustery rainy walk up to bonehill rocks and back. Great vegan options (had sweetcorn fritters) and we shared a lovely cardamom bun. The food and all the service were super quick and efficient. Thanks for a lovely time!

Love this place, food always so good, staff always pleasant. So happy that the family members who choose a plant based diet are catered for, with plenty of variety on the menu and the same excellent quality throughout. Large car park adjacent is not owned or run by the cafe, usually plenry of spaces and minimal parking charges at £1.60 for two hours.

Absolutely wonderful place! Fabulous meal. Something for everyone on the menu which is well thought out and really well delivered. I can see a lot of effort has gone into the decor, the food and the choice of staff. Thank you how refreshing x

The first disappointment was the £2 parking charge and there was very little parking otherwise available. This was extremely dog friendly with 3 well behaved animals that easily made their way between the clean and tidy tables/chairs as their owners found empty spaces in the spacious dining area. Despite the number of young people seated behind the counter, one had to go to the counter to place an order. The friendly staff were not long in bringing our order to the table. We had a Brie brown baguette accompanied with a leaf salad and apple juice and soup with a Cappucino that came to just over £23.00. All of the food was tasty and ample.

We have visited several times over the last few weeks. We usually have a cream tea and coffee. The coffee is excellent but the cream tea is absolutely incredible. The scones are by far the best we have had anywhere, and the clotted cream and jam is plentiful. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient, the service is also quite excellent. Even the area is wonderful. A place not to be missed

This is a lovely little coffee and ice cream shop that sells everything the hungry visitor or traveller could want. Staff are always friendly and we always visit on our hols. Would recommend

What a beautiful location, a fabulous cafe, clean and modern with friendly staff and excellent lunch. Lunch was busy but drinks and food were delivered efficiently. We sat outside enhanced by the September sunshine and enjoyed the village green vibe. Would recommend.

I’m a slightly fussy veggie, they were happy to put together a breakfast for me - these were the best cooked mushrooms I’ve had for years. Highly recommended.

My wife and I both had the Steak pasty with Salad ??? a side order of Chips and two Coffees, quality of the food was good if a little over priced, my only gripe was the ` Salad ` which consisted of just a couple of different varieties of Lettuce, how about chucking in a little Tomato, Cucumber, Red Onion or Radish ? The service and staff was quick and friendly, as I said, just the one quibble which could easily be corrected.

Breakfast £14.00 should be spot on. Had to return it to the kitchen because the eggs were really undercooked (we got there at opening time 10.00am very quickly presented with our breakfast... Our first visit to beautiful Widecombe in the Moor, and what a joy to find your outstanding cafe. It is perfect across the board; ambience, cleanliness, friendly staff, superb toilets, and such imaginative, high quality food and drink. The Dahl was delicious! After a stroll around the village, we were tempted to return for tea and cakes. An absolute gem, far from the madding crowd.

Stopped in for breakfast with our 2 dogs in November and very pleasantly surprised. Great service, friendly staff and food was delicious. One of the best poached egg with avocado and feta I’ve ever had. Husband had the full English breakfast and said it tasted like all the ingredients came from their own farm. Fireplace kept the cafe warm, plenty of seats and very dog friendly, with treats at the door! Will definitely be back for more.

Stoped here for lunch whilst doing the Two Moors Way. Not only was the food delicious and service excellent the staff were super helpful. We are burger, autumn salad selection & a most delicious coconut and lentil Dahl soup with cheese scone. Very tasty. Washed down with a good coffee. Extremely helpful staff charged our phones behind the counter, refilled our water bottle and disposed of our rubbish. Set off recharged & able to clamber up the moor. Many thanks

Older woman behind counter abrupt and rude. This cafe has jumped on the vegan bandwagon so menu very very limited if one has autoimmune disease. Menu offers dietary requirements but none available apart from gluten free bread roll but this is pointless if 'homemade burgers' have had breadcrumbs added and contain gluten. Very disappointed so we left. Poor attitude of staff poor menu.

This cafe I believe wasn’t here when we last visited 4 years ago but what a welcome venue for a fabulous coffee and cake. The breakfast and lunch menus looked great too and there are plenty of seating which were sanitised after use. Great to sit and relax and watch the works go by whilst enjoying great food and drink.

I remember this place from old! Nothing special.....do I went in expecting nothing special! How wrong could I be!!! THIS PLACE, FOOD, AND ATMOSPHERE is something else! This is a MUST place to go to eat! FANTASTIC!

On holiday and decided to detour on our way too Cornwall after reading reviews. We were not dissapointed, a great welcome from the staff and we found a nice secluded sofa area to sit with our dog. Cream tea was superb, it nis now the bench mark for us by which we compare other cream teas. I had a slice of orange and pistachio cake which was very moreish. We will be back next time we pass Dartmoor. All the food I could see was homemade and I will have to try something different next time.
