We had a multi-generational family reunion dinner here. Having navigated the ‘unique’ menu, the food was truly excellent. Be very aware of the portion sizes! You’ll need a good nap afterwards.. No need for a starter! The quirky decor and attentive staff makes this a great place. Will be back, next time we’re in Glasgow.

Went along for their weekly open mic night with host Iain Forbes. Every Tuesday. A nice ambience here. Haven't eaten here recently, so cannae really comment on the food, but it seems quite popular.

Food was okay, as the steak which we ordered medium rare came out as well done, while there was a wee bit too much salt on the risotto. The former was rectified with a replacement steak, and not being charged for it (totally surprised). Happy with the recovery by the team, so +1 ⭐ to the team. Honestly felt that the waitress was condescending when we asked to take the food orders after the drinks came. She said "There are other tables that we are waiting to take orders first, but we can take yours". Honestly an unnecessary comment if you aren't interested in taking our order. Totally could sense her unhappiness in being asked to take an order after that. Surprisingly quiet on a Fri night!

The perfect afternoon tea with a great ambiance and a very nice staff!

Great place for afternoon tea. The tea selection was wonderful and the sweets and savories were fresh and generous. Highly recommend.

Quaint little tea house with a large selection of cakes, teas, and menu items. Smaller tea room with separate restaurant. Good portions, cute and relaxing atmosphere.

We had a large group of 37 and they did an amazing job of serving us. The food was delicious and atmosphere was very nice.

Didn't have anything to drink. But drinks and service was great in a nice relaxed atmosphere, with lots of laughter 😃

I don't normally review, but the sirloin Sunday roast I had yesterday was amazing!! As was the Raspberry Ripple and Peanut Butter pavlova, one of the best desserts I've ever had.

Great jazz night on Wednesdays at 9pm with performances by students of the royal conservatory of Scotland. Free entry - pretty expensive drinks - fiver per pint.

We booked for the restaurant but had assumed the wraps and baked potatoes were available here. Unfortunately they are not. If you are looking for a 'light' lunch the Tea Rooms is a better option. The meals in the restaurant are lovely but proper large meals. You have to go down the concrete steps to get to the bar/ restaurant which may be difficult if you have mobility problems. The place was nice and quaint but felt a little dull as you are below street level so not as much natural light gets in. Staff were nice.

I have visited twice now for the Sunday roast. The space has an interesting aesthetic, with different vibes at each part of it, so I highly recommend you book online beforehand, as this gets you a seat at the prettiest tables, behind the curtain, with freshly ironed white tablecloths and candle holders. The food is quite tasty, we tried the tomato soup, the roasted vegetables, the Sunday roast and the meat pie. However, one star is redacted because the meat pie came in cookware with peeling ceramic coating, which can potentially be hazardous for health and not something I wanted to worry about on a Sunday (or any other day).

Came for a quick Scottish bite and a drink. Got a pint of St Mungo and haggis fritters, both lovely!

All the good stuff. Large delicious portions. The staff was helpful at meal time and generous with her tips on where to go for shopping. Warm and cozy spot on a rainy March day.

Good breakfast, not cheap but I nice experience. Hard to get a fry in Glasgow!

Great quality ingredients for brilliant breakfast.

Place doesn't seem overly clean. I get the decor etc but the table was basically falling apart and the chairs are uncomfortable. Orders took a long time to be taken. Had to hunt staff for drinks/the bill. Food wasn't worth the cost. My roast was cold the potatoes were very tough and my mother in laws lamb was tough and she left most of it. Macaroni Yorkshire puddings are lovely. Bit disappointed unfortunately. Might be just a busy day for them.

Unfortunately our waitresses were not kind to us. The staff we encountered were incredibly rude and very sharp. The food was good but we were very disappointed by the service. We are very reasonable guests and will give one hell of a tip when we feel applicable but tonight was far from the case.

Was there for a cousin reunion there was 12 of us food was amazing , service excellent they even reserved a table for us in the bar after we finished food nothing was any bother to them atmosphere was perfect have been in tea rooms a few times first time in resturant and we will definitely return what a fabulous team you have . Lemon meringue pie is a must all our food was delicious .

Incredible breakfast best veggie breakfast I’ve ever had so fresh and well thought out. Partner had the full Scottish and was very impressed. Staff were lovely and service was quick. Can’t recommend enough!

4.5*, rounding up. Excellent haggis fritters, wonderful pork belly bites. Dessert (cream puff) was tasty as well. Great and speedy service, quaint decor. Perhaps just a tad pricier than it should be, considering what the place is going for.

It's such a cute place, definitely worth a visit. Book a table as it's busy and you may need to sit in the basement which isn't as atmospheric. The food was very tasty and affordable too.

My favourite place to eat in Glasgow. Absolutely great pie and good beer. Atmosphere is also amazing with more than friendly staff, especially to us English lol.

Even after almost 10 years, this place is still as amazing. The food is lovely and I have never seen better pancakes! It's beautiful in there too, can't wait to go back.

Delicious Scottish food, lots of menu options and good whisky selection. Perfect for Burns Night/any celebration or just dinner out. I recommend the haggis fritters.

Great staff and service and food

Lovely wee place with loads of mismatched tea-sets and teapots! Very cosy and the food was great. You could order the Afternoon Tea (which was NOT expensive for an afternoon tea; I was expecting to pay almost double before I saw the menu) or you could get regular breakfast food, like a really nice Eggs Benedict or French Toast. These were all delicious according to the group I was with! Would definitely recommend, especially if you'd like to bring someone for a nice Afternoon Tea and chat!

Afternoon Tea with Gin. Delicious, with plenty food: sandwiches, cakes, cream scones and salmon on soft biscuits. Loved it.

Yummy sandwiches and cakes. More rustic style than other afternoon teas but really good. Friendly and helpful staff.

First time back for probably over a year. Still rocking the shabby-sheek style. Although maybe pushing the shabby a little (if the sofa is burst, it's burst, you gotta replace). We had the Monday night quiz, which is hard but good fun. Only snacked this time, very small menu, but good if you like chips. A good night out.

we ordered Crissssspy mushroom frittersss served with spicy mayo and a side salad, Suzie the smoked salmon mousse, hitting snooze on a bed of toast, served with a side salad, Butterfly and piglet burger and The swimming piggies... Pan seared king scallops served on a black pudding crumb with crispy pork belly, chorizo oil and a smoked bacon salt. The food is wonderful very creative.

Typical high tea offerings. Not exactly to my taste but others would enjoy it, I'm sure. Decent value, but the food didn't excite. Excellent range of tea.

Lovely fish'n'chips, steak pie could have been served hot, rather than warm, good size portions, good service, nice location, clean toilets, child friendly and they offer tastey glutenfree food :-)

Had a great night at the Butterfly & Pig for hubby's 70th Birthday. We hired a function room upstairs. The meal & service were second to none. Would highly recommend.

The food was fantastic! The Colin Coley and cauliflower veggie appetizer was fantastic! The sticky toffee pudding was OK. We need a bigger plate and moist pudding. We also created some ambience by lighting our candle. The steak pie looks delicious. My partner and his friend said it was good. We will return!

The restaurant is located in the basement. The staff was very polite and helpful. We ate haggis and duck liver pate, both of which was extremely tasty. I would definitely recommend visiting this place

Christmas Dinner and live band entertainment. Excellent.

The venue has atmosphere and I liked the quirky vintage decor. However, the crockery was not so good. I like vintage cups etc but care has to be taken re cleaning. The crockery wasn't too hygienic as a cup had a crack in it. Our first pot of tea was served in a coffee pot which didn't pour well. We asked for a teapot and when it came the spout was chipped and the glaze cracked. Also the centre cloth on the table was grubby. The service good though and the food very good. At the end we had to look for someone to get the bill. All in all it was a wee bit disappointing but nothing that can't be sorted. I'd still return and recommend this venue.

Always amazing to have drinks with close friends. Lovely ambiance and ability to speak and have a conversation without the loud noise.

Afternoon tea. Tea with tea bag, easy to upgrade to tea leaves, or give the option. We can get a tea bag at home. Nice selection of cakes and sandwiches but sandwiches had spend a few minutes uncovered do were just beginning to feel dry on outside. Not enough to complain on the day as not wanting to spoil event with friend. Make their own crisps I think? Our were soggy, nice waitress brought more. Better but not really a crisp. Improve or take out of a packet! Well priced, nice venue, simple improvements would upgrade easily.

I had a homemade butterscotch sauce with my pancakes that was to die for.....

Food generally good although garnish of crisps.stale and inedible.

I had the risotto and a brownie. Pro tip: don't ask for a second brownie. It's so good, you want another one after the first portion, but trust me, one is just enough! ;)

Pre-concert dinner was good, decent range of beers available (although the craft ales weren't on when we visited). Turkey and Leek pie was cracking, skin on chips fabulous although could be too salty for some. Would have been rude not to have the Sticky Toffee Pudding, especially as had a mile to walk to the venue. Good gastopub, amusing menu and chilled out staff

Been to this restaurant on and off for over 15 years was here for my birthday recently, as always amazing food and good service, but will never be back even though it was my favourite place to eat as we were rushed out the door, absolutely shocking have never been rushed out of a restaurant in my life.

Truly amazing Xmas dinner. Everything was perfect - the veg was perfect, meat, gravy. It all came together and one of the best meals I’ve ever had.

Great afternoon tea, well stocked plates with scrumptious cakes. As a vegetarian sandwiches choice can be limited, but the sandwiches were delicious and filled up, delighted with them. Good service, and we didn't feel hurried. Will go back again.

Went here on a recommendation. Place was charming; food unappealing. Crisps were stale & way overcooked, Victoria cake dry and lifeless, sandwiches bland but form bread was very good. I grinned my way through this lunch because I sat across from person who highly recommended it. There are better hiTeas out there. This is a pass.

Dinner with husband on a Saturday night. A popular shabby chic bar and restaurant. Great service and atmosphere and the food was plentiful and delicious. A great location to catch up with friends or celebrate with family. Considering the current cost of living reasonably priced. £25 each for a two course meal. Worth every penny. Looking forward to the next visit.

We arrived early so had a drink at the bar whilst we waited and it was a great atmosphere. They came to get us when our table was ready. Starters were delicious. Haggis fritters were so lightly battered and tasty. I ordered the gammon steak but changed the accompaniments but that was no trouble for them. The steak was delicious. Mrs had steak pie and the lumps of meat were beautifully cooked. We left suitably stuffed.

Really lovely pub for a leisurely quiet drink - especially if you are on your way to the King's Theatre.

Excellent gastro pub experience with some of the best pub food I’ve ever had for a very affordable price! All the ingredients and sauces are excellently paired with each other! The pork belly starter was excellent. Crispy and sweet because of its glazing and the dressing on the small accompanying salad. My colleague had the Butterfly and the Pig Burger with a gluten-free bun and really enjoyed it. Luckily we walked in on Sunday, meaning there’s the Sunday roast special! The ribeye just sold out sadly, but the sirloin was also amazing! Also had a side of the awesome crunchy fried haggis balls. As a Dutchman these remind me of most gourmet ‘bitterballs’ from home, so getting a side of mustard worked perfectly with these! We are stuffed, but it won’t hurt to have a look at their desert menu would it? Definitely coming back here! Wish they had some older whiskies available, but the Dalmore 18 kept me happy and was perfectly paired with my meal :). Update one year later (Nov 1st 2023): Came back, not on a Sunday this time. Started with sharing the haggis fritters, which were super fluffy and tasty paired perfectly with a peppercorn sauce. As a main, I had the seasonal Gammon steak while my friend took the chicken burger with a gluten free bun. Everything was excellent. The fries were cooked to perfection, the portions were almost too much for us and the staff was super helpful as always! Make sure to also check their website for their calendar of various events!

Mediocre meal. Sunday roast - best part was the Yorkshire. I was given Chicken thigh that was tough/hard with no other chicken meat. Roast potatoes were massive and not crispy. Poor staff knew that the place was just bland so they didn’t give af. Also menu was wrote in riddles haha- 2 shells and a half toenail out of 5 foot iykyk

Just popped in for drinks but always find this bar friendly with good range of drinks. Food does look good so will try this next time!

Really nice food. Pricing for drinks was a bit exorbitant but the great service made up for the cost for sure. They were even so kind as to make our afternoon tea vegetarian friendly at absolutely no notice because I was an idiot and forgot that I was bringing my vegetarian friend with me. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 Lovely selection of nibbles within the afternoon tea and great value for what you get. The soup was also amazing. 🥰 Would definitely come again and want to try their restaurant next time!

Fantastic place, I ate a vegan and gluten-free Scottish breakfast, because I am allergic to eggs and gluten. The black and super good coffee I recommend it. the staff is super sweet And professional, If you go to Glasgow try this tea room

Bed & pillows were so comfortable. Staff were friendly & accommodated an early check in without issue. The shower was amazing! The toiletries were fantastic as well. Really enjoyed staying at this location & walked everywhere from here.
