James is fantastic bar man I love the staff in there but James is really top bloke please don't let him go his very kind and makes me feel welcome definitely o him a drink

Very good food, Sunday dinner excellent. Roast and veggie meals eaten. Good friendly service and reasonably priced. A clean and tidy spot. Called back later to watch a game in the bar and have a few drinks, all staff and locals very friendly.

Not one vegan thing on the whole menu…. Maybe one or two items you could make vegan by removing certain ingredients but not easily. Come on - it’s 2024!

An appealing olde worlde style pub, definitely rustic style and nothing fancy, but the landlady was friendly, the service efficient and the beer kept well. You can't really ask for much more.

Went there Sunday lunchtime, excellent Sunday dinner, great service, nice real ale, car park and garden. Sunday morning football team were swearing loudly, which was a shame.

Lovely family meal. We were a group of 11 and service was good and the food came quickly. Very extensive menu, good portions and friendly staff. Would definitely come again.

No wifi for a few weeks and no-one seems to be doing anything about this. Shame as it was a great place to work for lunch

Home cooked vast menu Gordon Ramsey eat your heart out! So Good l went back the night after and brought my friend's too. Steak and Ale Pie was very good and l had a Jerk Chicken burger the next evening extra spicy sauce too. Sticky Toffee is a staple in every pub in this country and this one l had both evening's service was friendly and efficient and all food was hot 🔥

Wake catered for and a great sized private room upstairs for our needs. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good value.

Very friendly 'Old fashioned' pub. Lovely atmosphere with fire and old beans. Food was terrific so much so that we booked to go again on another evening before we left. Very large menu choice and good portion sizes.

It was a amazing place with amazing food. Had a local ale, omelette with tuna, Margaret pizza and sticky toffee pudding with cream. It's one of the good old pub with good food.

Great value fish and chip basket with fresh perfectly prepared fish. Good Guinness and nice patio area outside. Highly recommend.

Lovely pub in the high street of St Albans, located near the clock tower. Loads of staff, our barman was friendly. Gin selection good. Even topical graffiti in the toilets :)

Was passing on my way to work and popped in for a quick bite and a drink. And I'm definitely coming back. Proper food proper bar staff. Overall a really well run pub serving good pub grub cooked well. Well done..... I have had to edit this review as I have now been here 4 times since my original review. I really love this place. The food is consistent the service Is always top notch. I bring my elderly aunt here and they really make her feel special. Thank-you Duane.

Lovely staff and manager was very friendly too! Had a mix up of job interviews and was sent to this pub instead of another, they were all very understanding and accommodating!

Excellent Sunday Roast Dinner, very efficient, friendly service and at a very reasonable price. Parking is limited but all in all well worth a visit plus it shows the football and sports if that's your bag.

Myself and a friend went there as its near his work . What a great little pub . We went for Sunday lunch. It was fantastic food . The lamb just fell of the bone . Would highly recommend. Need to book tho .

The Bull is a lovely old pub/restaurant. Met there for a get together with some friends. For the main course, I chose the hake, and although it was very tasty, it just consisted of some mash potato with a small bit of spinach in the middle of the mash, and a tiny piece of Hake on top with a couple of spring onions, covered in a creamy sauce. Was really nice but a very small dish and expensive for what you got, at nearly £17 for the one course! The dessert I had was banoffee pie and it was delicious. The waitress was lovely and attentive. Also felt a bit chilly in there.

This place is a treat if you're looking for food. Everything is home made and is inexpensive so definitely worth a trip. Staff are very friendly and it's a good local as well with friendly staff.

Went here for a meal on the 28th August 2021 it was terrible, ordered the scampi and chips couldn't eat the chips as they had been reheated, the meal was ruined , potatoes are cheap so why ruin someone's meal, nearly £8 for 6 pieces of Scampi as the chips were inedible

Stopped for lunch recently. Thought sandwich prices a bit high when ordering, but when the food arrived it was very tasty, well presented, and generous size portions, so good value. Staff friendly, made us, including our dogs, welcome.

Good traditional pub offering redesigned Covid proof patio, hand sanitisers and procedures. Lovely staff, generous chef and good mix of beers and ales: today there was Timothy Taylor Landlord on so I looked no further. A group of us have been meeting here for quite a period of time and we are rarely disappointed.

Absolutely love Jill/Gill , she’s amazing . Made everything about social distancing dinner so easy and such a joy to talk to. She’s an absolute credit to this restaurant. Dinner was delicious as were the cocktails .

Best little pub in the area Sunday lunch is awesome Watch out for the Pompadoro pizza its not a regular Cheese and Tomato, it will blow your socks off, but by god is it nice. Probably the most friendly pub I have visited in a while
