Lovely meal at the Bull - great choice reasonably priced and great atmosphere would highly recommend 🤩🤩

Have visited several times as the food is always excellent but our waitress (she always seems to serve us) never ever gets the order 100% correct! She spends so much time talking and not listening!! Nice enough person but improve your service as you are a waitress and that's the crux of your role!!

Excellent for gluten free options and great care was taken over our friend who was in a wheelchair. Only downside was the group of very loud diners seated 2 tables away. We had recommended The Bull to the couple with us but, they did not enjoy the experience. Conversation at our table was a struggle and they have no desire to return.

Delicious food, good interesting choices and lovely service. We were a table of 4 , had 3 courses each and only had positive things to say.

The service was excellent, we were not hurried and the waitress made knowledgeable suggestions when necessary. We had an excellent meal in pleasant surroundings with friendly staff.

it was very noisy and the reception lady seemed very stressed out and she did not smile at all when we came in. the service lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. the noise level was off the scales and it seemed everyone was shooting at their tables. i have booked a table for March so I am hoping it will improve.

Food was lovely, more expensive than would normally pay for a roast dinner & dessert but very nice. Dessert could have been a bit bigger but we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was quick and waitresses smiling and friendly. Will definitely return

As always, a great evening, wonderful food, brilliant staff and the added bonus of a singer. 

Table was small and dark and a draught around the legs every time a door was opened

Food is always good here. Staff are lovely and the pub itself is fab.

The staff were friendly, helpful and ensured our dining experience was splendid. The food is delicious, and the portions are a good amount. I’d highly recommend the Bull.

We were a table of 9 for lunch. Two of our party were quite badly delayed and our waitress could absolutely not have been any more patient and amenable. Not hassling us to order, telling us not to worry and keeping up to date with our drinks. It really was noticeable how good the staff were and I had the fish and chips which was really lovely. This was my first visit and will not be my last. I do wish I had taken the waitresses name to thank her properly.

We had a lovely waitress, really attentive without being overpowering. Once she knew I was a coeliac and would be making gluten free choices, she went out of her way to advise. The restaurant was busy, but we felt completely looked after. Food was very tasty and served promptly. Met friends who were coming from different directions. Plenty of parking.

We went for Sunday lunch. We had The roast beef and chicken. Both were excellent, served with lots of fresh vegetables, a giant Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy. The portions were a good size. (There is also an option to upgrade with more meat). We had standard size and it was plenty. We managed to have a dessert of apple crumble and custard. All was nice and hot and home cooked. I would definitely come again and recommend. But you will need to book as it’s busy.

Disappointed with the lack of gluten free bread as restaurant was told one of us was gluten free before hand. That was the main reason for booking as last time was impressed with the gluten free options

It is a lovely place to dine. Ambience is lovely. Food is gorgeous, amazing choice of dishes on menu. Service is attentive but unhurried, made to feel very welcome.

Lovely pub - shame about the service and food. As we come in our waitress was sitting with another table, unsure if this was to do with the male presence at that table. When ordering food she was blunt as if we were interrupting her from the other table. Starters were nice but the pie for main was so hard and dry you could've built a house out of it. All of the waitresses seem to have better things to do like stand at the bar area talking to each other rather than making sure their guests were ok or needed anything.

Lovely meal for mother in laws 80th birthday, she got a birthday card, and ice cream with a candle in it. Staff very polite and friendly, though need to listen more when taking drink orders. I ordered a bacardi and coke, got bacardi and lemonade. 2nd drink i ordered bacardi and coke, no ice or lemon..got both. Other than that, faultless.x

Great meal for two, food excellent standard and value as always. The team at the Bull are always friendly and polite - we didn't stop long after our meal as there was a group of six very loud lads and we couldn't hear each other speak. I would highly recommend.

Lovely lunch with a friend at The Bull, the food was very good, some great choices on the menu. The service was excellent, really friendly and welcoming. Can highly recommend and looking forward to coming back.

Had to wait for table 20 mins even though booked For time, thought on person quite rude needs a lesson on customer liaison, came up have you booked etc apparently the lady behind bar helped even though had to ask twice, food good but a bit amiss on service and customer liaison

Booked for a Sunday roast got there early taken straight to the table asked what we would like for drinks brought over nice and quick then shortly after ordered main what was fantastic was asked by one of the staff if we would like extra gravy said yes was brought to the table food was amazing will be back very soon thank u the bull and staff

We have visited the Bull several times now and are never disappointed. The food is always amazing and the staff are super friendly, helpful and can never do enough for you. We were there to celebrate a birthday and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you guys for making this a special night.

Yet again another outstanding experience at The Bull. Food amazing and can highly recommend the lamb shank. Served by Alicia who was fantastic. Nothing was too much. Dined in the bar, but could also have items off the restaurant menu. Couldn't fault the evening. Outstanding

The Bull was a very good place to spend with family. The ambience was excellent. There was a very good selection of Food and very generous portions. We were a part of 7 and every meal was enjoyable.

Good quality food in a cozy atmosphere. Plenty of choice on the menu and food was served piping hot which is something that makes all the difference. Good parking facilities too.

8 of us booked for the festive menu where we preordered our food. On arrival the pub was busy, warm and very festive. Our table was set beautifully with Santa hats and a candle and wreath centrepiece. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the turkey which was very generous in portion size and the perfect Christmas roast. Very reasonably priced - thoroughly recommend.

The customer service was excellent. The menu range was very extensive. It was good to see so many gluten free options. Over all a very enjoyable experience. Our waitress, Stacey, was extremely helpful and pleasant.

The meat myself and my Son had on the roast lamb was not very edible. Very chewy and fatty

I'm a regular to The Bull and find it perfect, for business and leisure meals. The food never disappoints and the staff make you welcome.

Amazing food, great waiters. Very attentive to us. Went with my son & grandson. Lovely setting. Table of 8 ladies behind us. These were very very loud and swearing. This did slightly affect us. I would definitely return .

Nice food good service booked late so could not get in the restaurant seating, so sitting in bar area near rear door bit of a draft as everyone going in and out to smoking area only complaint, good choice of food.

Overall pretty good experience, however slightly overpriced for some of menu.

Food was very good with large portions for all meals ordered, but there was a mistake with the order and the meals arrived at different times. Otherwise the venue was very good

Warm and comfortable in the restaurant. The food is consistently good quality and alsways very welcoming staff.

Really do like this place but the service tonight was not good. We hardly saw the staff and didn’t bother to order dessert. One young lady was sweet.

Shared bread & dips v. good. 2 x pie, 1 belly pork, 1 salmon nicoise -dressing best ordered 'on side', was too much. Apple crumble had by all-custard very thin, small portions, but could have asked for more? ( Service was very good.) We lunched on a Tuesday, not rushed at all.

Recommended to a group of 4 friends. We all gave the place a big thumbs up

Good selection of starters and mains, with enough for most tastes including vegetarians, not so sure about vegans. Special board added a few more interesting dishes. Didn’t try the desserts but they looked great, I was just too full. A couple of decent beers including Timothy Taylor Landlord added to my enjoyment. Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area and of similar quality.

Visited for our sons birthday with grandparents/auntie and uncle etc. Perfect afternoon in every way, even down to allowing us to bring our own cake instead of desert and presenting it with a happy birthday chorus (one embarrassed son 😀)

Had a few starters to share and they were delicious, I think the food is amamzing. All staff are exceptionally friendly and although there wasn't a huge amount of other diners the music and lighting created a lovely cosy feel.

Portion sizes represent good value for money. Food was tasty and no complaints from our table. Our waitress was efficient and good at the technical side of her job, but her demeanour suggested The Bull was the last place in the world she wanted to be.

A group of four friends, two of whom are gluten free, we had a lovely catch up. Both gluten free people said the menu offered a fantastic choice (which is unusual for restaurants) and all the meals were very tasty.

Fantastic evening with friends, Amanda the manager went above and beyond dealing with our table. Warm, friendly, funny and very professional. We will be going back very soon. Thank you all for making our evening very special.

We were well looked after by our hosts who were friendly and attentive. The food arrived on time and we were left alone to enjoy our meal. Their inquiries for more drinks were welcome and not over-frequent. Will go back soon!

The Bull was very busy. Was shown table but not who was our waitress so went to the bar to order drinks. Asked for a wine list as one not available on table or at bar. Only 2 people serving at bar so slow. Waitress then approached me at bar and said she would take my order for drinks. Waited @ 10 minutes for these to be brought over. Food was lovely and arrived within a reasonable time post ordering. We was provided dessert menu after but no one came back for our order so had to call someone. Waitresses swapped mid seating so was confusing who was looking after us. Overall was satisfying Sunday lunch if not a little too busy for staff
