The venue is mature in its ways with a touch of intelligence. Everything is well thought out. The food is elegant and the bar has lots to offer compared to an average pub/restaurant which is why it's called a gastro pub 😉 the garden area is stunning and your sat right by the river. It's a quirky venue with a massive sprinkle of elegance

A comfortable and friendly pub on a cold day, with very good local and other real ales on tap and ciders, the inevitable (but interesting) gin menu and charming staff. My first visit (for a work Xmas do) was very positive. Thoughtful choices despite being the Xmas menu, nicely presented and tasty dishes; vegetarian and vegan options were available and good. Very reasonable pricing. The place has a really nice feel to it: I'll be back once normality returns after Xmas!

Went with my daughter & her boyfriend for my daughter's birthday. Had often considered going and had heard varying reviews but we decided it was a hood opportunity to try somewhere different! My daughter was disappointed that the two choices she wanted - the scallops and the pork belly were off the menu the night we went but we all enjoyed our meals. I had the terrine to start - it did say with warm crusty bread which was stretching the truth but the terrine was tasty, my daughter had the soup and her boyfriend the salmon. For mains I had lamb which was delicious and the others had chicken and the field mushroom burger. Disappointing sweet menu but we were full so it didn't really matter. Considering it was a Tuesday it was fairly busy and only one waitress on so we chose not to have coffee as the service had dwindled. However, all in all the positives out way the negatives and is certainly worth a visit for a special occasion.

Cafe Sarn Helen

14/11/2018: I have been here for all sorts of occasions and have enjoyed a variety of delicious, well cooked meals ranging from breakfasts to lunch and m now looking forward to trying the new evening menu. The food is well cooked and presented. The staff are friendly and efficient and everyone is made to feel welcome. Great to see the way they have made the appearance more trendy while catering for all ages.

Fortysix

12/12/2018: There are many cafes in Neath but Forty-six has a comfy sort of atmosphere with very helpful staff. Good range of food at affordable prices.
18/12/2018: I was very happy on my visit. I had a deluxe hot chocolate and I was so impressed by the cream and marshmallows I sent a photo to my friends. Sat in the new extended section and absolutely loved the decoration. The staff were lovely- very chatty and welcoming. It was freezing outside and I was so warm and cosy inside, it was very relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed and am eager to return soon.
