I was disappointed as we brought 2 set breakfasts, both comes with tea or coffee. My partner upgraded to decaf and they said they would charge extra which was ok. They asked me what coffee I would like, which I picked a latte- no extra charge was mentioned about the latte. When the bill came, I noticed that they charged me extra for both coffees (apparently you can only get tea or flat white). This was not mentioned to me at the time of ordering otherwise I would’ve picked flat white that comes with the set breakfast. I raised that I was not informed that there would be an extra charge for the latte, they didn’t care, they only acknowledged and agreed with me that it wasn’t mentioned and still proceeded to charge me. I still paid in full and told them to mention this to the owner so other people do not have the same issue but they did not look like they cared and just said ok. I will not be coming here again after many years as a customer as it is the principle that is important rather than the monetary value in £

Been going to this spot for a while and it’s rating has dropped, I won’t be visiting again tbh. The portion to price ratio is crazy and they’ve upped their prices and even charge extra for the smallest of things. The owner has definitely forgotten what he’s serving and it’s definitely not breakfast. The fact they don’t even take card is very dodgy and not everyone can pay by cash.

I love this place, one of the most popular cafes in Enfield so it is always busy here and sometimes the food does take long but the food is always great.

My kids' favourite breakfast spot and I like to take them here, the service is always friendly and attentive, the atmoshpere is pleasant and welcoming.

Love this place don't live local but when I'm visiting fishpools next door we always like to have a bite to eat here and a coffee food is lovely coffee also great, the only downside is people who sit outside with cigarettes, it's awfull , especially whilst eating , and the other downside is cash only not in today's world ,

If you want to be given a menu and left out side for 20 mins this is the place ended up walking away and going to cafe opposite and was served right away.

Absolutely awful was served with black, cremated jacket potato that was brown inside when I asked for one that was not burnt waitress said “you don’t have to eat outside” so I showed her the inside under the tiny bit of tuna and cheese on top, she said she’d get another which was also cremated and had been mashed to a pulp with butter to try and disguise the brown insides - I put both potatoes on the plate and ate the small salad and the topping when I went to pay the waitress tried to charge me the £8.40 for the potato when challenged she said I brought you another one I replied yes and that was as bad I returned both so the man behind counter said I cook them every day! I said well today you burnt them you should take off menu today he said take off the potato and now charge her for salad, cheese and tuna! AVOID THIS CAFE there are at least three more cafes and a few restaurants at the Cross

I have been going there for years. Past 3 times my food was forgotten. Im talking they forgot my order. Today was the last straw. We went there with my wife, all i ordered was a simple english breakfast, and she ordered a panini. 50 minutes later, 4 girls and 4 boys who had come 20 minutes after us had finished their food and was enjoying their coffee and cigarettes. My wifes food came after 50 minutes, without her chips, 10 minutes later my breakfast came without my eggs and i was told ‘your eggs are coming’. I told the waitress to take my breakfast back as i did not want it anymore. I will never go back there and i will not send friends and family there either. How can you forget my order? People came minutes after me but my order was forgotten? From now on i will go to MAYA coffee shop accross breakfast bar.

Its a lovely welcoming place a little bit pricey but worth it for a treat. Food is always fresh. They are accommodating and the nostalgic atmosphere is lovely. I've been a good few times now and never been dissapointed. Cash only people. So my last visit we had to wait ages for our food. Maybe because we were a large group of 10. But it was too long a wait and our compensation was a bowl of chips on the house when I asked of we could have a free round of drinks as all our drinks were finished way before our good arrived. Dissapointed.

Came here for the first time since the pandemic as it used to be fantastic but now the portions have got smaller while they have hiked up their prices. Now I understand there is a cost of living crisis and everything is going up but to also make your portions smaller is not okay. This place used to be packed on a Saturday morning but it was empty, no one is going to pay £13 for a breakfast, £10 for a tiny wrap that doesn’t even come with chips. Sad to see it go like this as they really did used to be great, sadly I will not ever be returning as did most of the other customers in the cafe say the same.

Like the idea, but very Ok food. Nice polite staff. Perhaps put the price up and serve better quality food. Hot choc was nothing special- could make it at home. Kids weren’t that happy with the waffles- perhaps have 2 sizes- 2 per plate and 1 per plate? Milkshake wasn’t very good. However, one of us thought the pancakes were fine.

I've had breakfast at Breakfast Bar over the last few years and I've never had a bad experience! Always tasty, relatively fast service, and the staff are very friendly.

The place was busy for a Sunday brunch. The service by the ladies was brilliant - they were helpful and very accommodating for our larger than normal table with a latecomer too. The food was really tasty and not too oily. With lots of options to choose from. The only issue was that even though we all ordered together, the food did not all come out at the same time... you can expect 5 minutes or so for the whole table to have their food but 2 of our tae got their food nearly 15 minutes before the rest came out ( and it wasn't the child on the table)! As this was the only bug bear though we will definitely be back!

Ordered a veggie and "Sun Inn" breakfast, fabulous coffee (and I'm a stickler for good coffee), and a nice old chap at the next table keeping warm over a beer trying to bother us for conversation. Prices fair (£25 all in) but not cheap, everything on the breakfast was good quality and tasty.

Breakfast… what an amazing discovery, great ambiance, clean and fantastic service, full English breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious, good coffee and fresh orange juice, I’m set up for the day! 10/10

The breakfast bar use to be ‘THE SPOT’. However, the last 3 times I’ve been everything has been poor; the temperature of the food, the taste, and the service. Enjoyed this place so much, I keep making excuses for the poor services and goods and go back after a break. However, today will be my final visit. My pasta arrived cold and tasteless. Going back for my second bite I saw a long piece of hair. As disgusting as it is, I understand these things happen within the food industry sometimes no matter how much precaution is taken. What made me upset was how they dealt with it. I informed them immediately, the staff’s response was ‘oh should I take it’, i was baffled that from her end it seemed as an option I might continue eating after finding a long hair in it?? Like how? There was no apology. For a Saturday the place wasn’t full at all which only confirms to me I’m not the only one who thinks the quality has dropped.

Excellent, always worth a visit

I usually go to the breakfast bar for breakfast at least once a week, sometimes more often. I decided to pop in for lunch today. The food and service wasn’t good, staff were indirectly disrespectful by opening loud music so we can feel uncomfortable and leave. As soon as we walked out, the music was turned off. Please bare in mind that although they’re supposedly open until 6pm, they don’t really want customers after 4pm, that’s how i felt.

The quality of food is excellent: decent portions, attentive service and a reasonable price. Easy to find as it is located in the square, beside the Eleanor Cross, that gives Waltham Cross its name. As others have observed, the place is very popular and is frequently crowded, which I consider to be confirmation that they have got things right. I am certainly looking forward to an opportunity to return soon.

Conclusion - Disappointing The Breakfast Bar seemed more about the "it place" to be seen and less about the quality of the food. In comparison to other cafes I have been to, and it's possible these cafes all get their ingredients from similar, if not the same place, The Breakfast Bar is most definitely ranked in the bottom 3 of fry ups I have ever had. We were a party of 3 and we all had something negative to say about the food. 1 friend said "the sausages look like they've been cremated", and they did. Tasted like they had too. My other friend said "I can make better fried mushrooms than this at home" and honesty, anyone could. Their mushrooms were bland and just not nice. And I just couldn't believe the small portion of, what seemed to be, watered down baked beans that was provided. That said, the food was all edible. It just didnt taste good and wasn't satisfying. After we left, we all thought "what a waste of money and calories". We just left unsatisfied - which was extremely disappointing.

Cool bar in highstreet, lots of choice to eat and the food was good.

Very lively cafe, music was pumping but I had to wait over half an hour for my very basic cafe breakfast no quality to the food I definitely won't be going there again.

Would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that they only take cash which is ridiculous in the 21st century. And no mention of this until you go to pay. Food and service was great, though a bit pricey.

Love this place! Great breakfast with high quality ingredients. Also great omelettes, the salad is also great topped with pomegranate. The decor is vibrant inside with lots of little decorations. Also option to sit outside when the weather is good. The staff are welcoming and friendly with quick service! Gave my 4 year old a lollipop to leave with. Thank you!

For me today I have come to the breakfast bar I got my usual tuna melt tostie the difference was the bread and I didn't expect that they served sour dough bread other than that the expeirience is always gonna be a 5 star service 4 me place is always clean to sit and eat the staff work so well together and it's always good to see when you come to eat food Today I had gone to my favourite spot to eat and no matter the mood this place just has it

This place is amazing! I can't wait to go back! It has a huge menu with every possible breakfast item you could ever wish for! Ice-cream milkshakes, freshly squeezed orange and apple juice, lovely coffee, pancakes, waffles, cooked breakfast, cakes that looked amazing, and so much more! Good service and prices. Get there early or you'll have to queue!

Went here for lunch. I decided on a full English and stated soft eggs please. Once it arrived I the soft eggs were hard. The waitress was dealing with the next table’s complaint and had tunnel vision as did the other waitress or just ignored me waving at them. When my plate was cleared I told the waitress about my eggs and being ignored and her response was “unfortunately you are sitting facing the wrong way!. When I said the same to the other waitress when paying she said sorry! Dreadful service will not be returning and spending my hard earnt money there

Too busy and crowed. Not a great cafe at all. Very expensive. Much prefer the other cafes round in Waltham Cross. This one should be closed down. Wetherspoons, Cherries, Crowland, the cafe next to Poundland and the cafe in the middle next to Sainsbury's our my favourite. The food I had was horrible.

Did not like last visit for burger with family, gave it another go and had scampi and chips! Still too crowded, way to noisy and scampi was over cooked watery inside formed scampi, would prefer proper wholetail! To be able to pay only cash, mmm what’s going on, with covid should be encouraging use of cards to pay! Won’t go back, gonna try somewhere else-very bad place!

Oh wow! Walked past this place so many times and never been in but a friend said it was good so decided today to try it for breakfast. AMAZING! Good prices, great service and the coffee was seriously good. Proper coffee. Will defo come again.

I was happy to see that they had a Vegan Breakfast option but then realised it was the most expensive breakfast in the menu. I thought okay so it must be special. But then also realised that the sausages they use are actually vegetarian (not vegan) so the menu is misleading. The price is crazy for what you get on the plate and its not vegan. Proper disappointed.

Food excellent, staff really friendly and helpful the place is spotless. I will never go anywhere else for a decent meal. Love this place

Absolutely amazing customer service, having eaten there several times now I can comfortably say it's the one of best café style shop I've eaten at in a long time. The staff are very polite and helpful and the food is very good. It's also NOT outrageously priced, very reasonable. I would highly recommend eating here if your in the area.

I've been here a few times but always fail to leave a review. I had the breakfast bar special omelette and my mum had the hangover and both dishes were fantastic! Everything tasted fresh and the service is great! Will return as always!

What a great find in the middle of Waltham Cross, was really surprised. Lovely food, clean, friendly staff and always busy which is a good sign. We had breakfast and the kids too they do a fab deal for childrens breakfast for £6 which includes a dessert and drink. We will definitely be back.

Lovely decor and friendly staff, good menu, good location.. But very expensive for a full English in my opinion £10 and not Including tea or coffee. Waited 45 minutes for a brekkie and when it did come nobody said sorry for the wait, then it came out in dribs and drabs. Timing very poor but the regulars got theirs as soon as they sat down 🤔. £40 for 3 breakfasts... Maybe it's me but wow post covid cost has increased since I've last had a fry up in a good old greasy spoon

I went there for breakfast and staff were unfriendly and rude. One waitress in particular- brown hair, brown eyes, Mediterranean looking, acted like she owned the place- and probably does! Made us feel so unwelcome that we decided to take the breakfast away. Like who has a takeaway breakfast?? After squandering a lot of money on one Full English breakfast, one Vegetarian breakfast and a soggy pancake -which looked like it had been cooked and dragged on the floor and served to me; I prayed on bended knee that at least the breakfast would taste good!! But honestly food was mediocre at best, greasy and awful to taste!! There are much better cafes across the road.... However as with many things in this modern world we live in- if you like something that looks good on the outside but tastes bad on the inside- then go for it!

It was a favorite place until last Saturday. The design is great but the portions smaller now and two burgers being ready in 1 hour.

Took over 40 minutes to get an omelette and 2 paninis, no one told us it was cash only and they didnt have a separate smoking section outside so I had to endure an old ladys dirty cigarette smoke while i ate even though we were seated first. Only saving grace was the friendly staff but wont be going back

My husband and I went there today , ordered a coffee then decided to have a breakfast. We soon forgot that idea when we saw the prices. Nearly £10 for a fry up we decided to have a panini . It was ok but the side salad consisted of lettuce tomatoes carrots olives and this mixed spicy stuff that nearly blew our heads of. Even then we had to go in the cafe and ask for cutlery. Ok so we half gathered this is a run greek/Turkish cafe, but so are 90% of the cafes in the cross. 2 paninis and 4 cappuccinos came to £21 which is reasonable but in future the cafe opposite or cherries is much better value and you get a good decent english side salad . Would not go back

My husband and I used to go to the cross often for a morning fry up. We use many of the local cafes but all were heaving and we managed to get a seat here. Due to covid this was our first visit in over a year so decided to stop and eat, hubby normally has a fry up why I'm more a sandwich / panini girl. We ordered a coffee while the waitress went to get the menu. We soon decided against the fry up when we see it had gone up from around £6 to to just under £10. We were gona have the coffee and go but noticed all the other cafes around us were still buzzing so stayed put and ordered paninis. They were quite nice but the side salad left a lot to be desired. ( even then we waited 5 minutes for cutlery to come out ), salad Consisting of lettuce, grated carrots tomatoes and this brown mixed spicy stuff that nearly blew our heads off. we decided to pay the bill and leave. Done some shopping and stopped in another cafe for a glass of wine before heading home. Way to expensive compared to many of the cafes. Would not go back..cherries across from here is great value for money and do amazing fry ups, as does the cafe nextdoor to poundland.
