The Brasserie in Milton Keynes

The trainees who work at the Brasserie were really friendly, attentive and helpful. We had delicious burgers that were served with onion rings and triple cooked chips. I had the chicken burger which had a beautifully crisp coating and was absolutely delicious. The onion rings were fab! The staff who waited the tables were smiling and engaging as were the drinks station team and the chefs. We had a great meal and are all looking forwards to going back again soon.

If you want to try the best quality cusine of Michelene star quality without breaking the bank this is the place to go. Also you are helping tomorrow's top chefs learn they're trade. The taster night on a Thursday is a must.

Ignore the times mentioned above. It is only open to the public on Thursday evenings. Coffee and cake available at other times but there is no parking

This is a student restaurant on the campus of Milton Keynes College. The standard of food is extremely high. Don't go in a rush, sometimes orders take a while to prepare, but it is a lovely place to eat. Their Christmas lunches are amazing and they often have take-away deals so get on their mailing list.

This is the training restaurant in the college. It is quite a simple environment but pleasant-enough. We visited for a light lunch. Meals were presented quite simply but were tasty. Portions were on the small side but adequate and competitively priced. Service was slightly odd but effective. These are students after all. Would return

Highly recommend one of their taster evenings. The food was of a high quality, we had 5 courses a little too much for me but hubby was happy to help out. He had the drinks flight that went with the meal. Very good value. Students were very personable. A highly enjoyable evening.

I went for a valentines meal there. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were courteous and the food was to die for. The students there may be learning still but they are all at a high end level. I am proud to have come from there and look forward to see what fresh talent shall come from there.

I was out and about with my beautiful family and my waitress... Who I believe was called Megan was absolutely brillant, funny and witty, so attentive and helpful, can not wait to return.

We’ve not been to the catering college restaurant for many years and this was a very different experience from our memory. The original restaurant was fine dining with linen tablecloths and silver service but the Brasserie is nothing like that. Maybe we were expecting something very different but the restaurant didn’t really have any atmosphere. I chose the shepherds pie which was tasty and the chips were good - it just didn’t have any ‘wow’ factor. My wife enjoyed her chicken but the quinoa wasn’t great and the dish lacked a sauce of some kind. The deserts were tasty and possibly the best part of the meal. The students who served us were friendly and attentive. I think the pasta would have been a better choice and we may give it another go but I’m sorry to say it’s definitely not the experience it used to be and I don’t think we’d go for dinner.

Once again a really great meal, as this is a training establishment thought l would make one observation and hope this is taken constructively. We asked what a potato dish was and the reply was it's done differently said it would have taken 2 mins to ask, we were only one in at this time. Meal was great as usual thanks

As usual the quality is second to none, staff are a credit. This is a fairly new venture, and felt you did not get very much for the cost (£16.95) although this did include a glass of prosecco. Ample sweet product but lacks savoury, some sandwiches would have made the experience 100% instead of 85%

Having read the previous reviews I was looking forward to my visit. Surprised when I saw it would be open for Saturday lunch but as it was my birthday that was perfect. Based on the Winter Menu, which is all that was on the website when I looked the previous week, I went ahead and made a booking. Can’t fault the restaurant itself, nice furnishings and relatively easy to find. The menu board outside the restaurant still gave no clue as to what was coming. However, we were handed a Lunch Menu (now on the updated website) with a very poor choice given that I was expecting to eat from the Winter Menu. I did not expect to be eating a chicken WRAP for my birthday lunch - totally ruined my day in fact. It wasn’t even well done - I opted for a salad side and it was literally straight from a pre-packed salad bag, no tomato garnish etc and very dry as no dressing offered. The chicken was rather sparse and with a lot of waste (fatty thigh meat). The soup starter was ok but nothing special. I didn’t even attempt dessert but I’ll give you a clue ... it’s not called Chef’s Mess without good reason! I’m not new to college training facilities (I visit my local one fairly frequently and I can only sing their praises) but this was a whole new experience to me and not one I shall be repeating any time soon. Based on the above experience I’m afraid I can’t recommend.

The Brasserie is park of the Milton Keynes college, and staffed by tutors and students. Good decor and well laid out,the service is great, and the food outstanding. The Brassiere is a great asset to Milton Keynes.

We visited The Brasserie for their festive afternoon tea and had a very relaxed couple of hours eating the amazing food. Immaculate presentation and wonderful flavours combined with great service. We would 100% recommend The Brasserie!

We thought we would give it a try so we had an omelette each. I must say they were very tasty. I also tried a bottle of the local Stacey Bushes beer.

Our 4th visit. This evening we had an excellent meal. One of the nicest places in Milton Keynes to eat. It is always about the skill and quality that make it a winner every time. I have been in the catering industry for over 40 years and its good to see the younger generation coming through and training to produce such wonderful meals. So pleased now open fridays as well.

3 of us went on a Friday evening, our first visit. The decor is simple, modern and spotless. Upon arrival we were quickly seated, menus provided and specials of the day described. 2 of us had starters, Boccochini Balls served with a delicious onion and tomato chutney. For our main we all ate from the grill. Beefburger, Salmon and Buttermilk Chicken Burger with sides all of which was perfectly cooked and rapidly devoured. Dessert was a variation on the Eton Mess and a cheese platter, again excellent.

When we visited we had a very tasty drink that was well presented. The staff were polite and helpful. The drinks were cheap but were top quality.

The staff/ students at the Learning Cup within the Brasserie were very helpful and friendly. They were very polite. excellent value for money . I would highly recommend using this coffee shop. Drinks presented very professionally and sudents where very knowledgeable about the products that they serve.

This is a lovely place, the food is amazing - all of us commented on how we preferred the food to some well-established high street brands in the city centre... Great service and lovely atmosphere - and did I mention how great the food was?!?

We ate dinner here. It's on a college campus and partly staffed by students. It wasn't busy.

Amazing food served in a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. I went there with a working colleague and we were surprised about the level of attention and quality standard of our meals. I was surprised that we were the only dinner guests that evening but then I thought I better keep this secret and only share it with my best friends. Well, now it's too late, I guess.....

Have known about this place for years but went last nigh. What a great place food brilliant service great. This a place of learning for people going into the hospitality industry, so give some leeway as they are learning, it was a pleasure to eat. I have been in this industry for over 45 years and this was 1st class. Be prepared to wait as things cooked to order

My wife and I had the pleasure of a Valentines 7 course taster menu at The Brasserie. The food, cooked by Milton Keynes College student under the guidance of Chef Spires, was out standing. All 7 dishes were creative, flavoursome and beautifully presented. The service, again by students under the guidance of Miss King and Asher, was personal, welcoming and professional. Great atmosphere and great value for money. Thank you for making this Valentines that little bit more special❤️

Helping to train young chefs and waiting staff whilst enjoying excellent food - what could be better!

I went to the recent opening night of this venue. It did not disappoint, in fact it demonstrates what young stars of the catering world are already capable of and they will surely go on to greater things. The College has forged links with top pattiserie company and also the Manoit Quatre Saison so the standard here already beats many so called top venues. So a message to all businesses, go out at lunch with clients to The Brasserie and you will surely impress them.

A regular here - the restaurant is going from strength to strength with not only a fantastic menu but a great new refurb. Students excel and have the opportunity to fine tune their culinary and hospitality skills to the highest standards.

Had the most amazing meal at the Brasserie yesterday. My first trip, although I've sampled their food many times, and have to say it won't be my last trip.

I don't throw around 5 Stars easily, but this is completely worthy or 6 Stars. I attended The Brassiere last night for a business dinner and was greeted with a modern, stylish and welcoming interior. No harsh lights, gimmicks or pointless tat that so many restaurants seem to invest in around these parts.

I was fortunate to be invited to the relaunch opening of the Brasserie restaurant at the MK College yesterday. They have done a great job in making the restaurant welcoming and modern with excellent food served by the students. As restaurants go in Milton Keynes, this is as good as many I have eaten in so well done to all involved.

Yet again, we had a fabulous meal at the training restaurant at MK College. Excellent food, beautiful presentation, friendly confident staff and amazing prices. A very good Shiraz at £11 - you just can't beat it.

My husband, daughter and my parents and I went out for dinner and were blown away by the friendly service and the fantastic food. This from young people who are still training makes it even more outstanding, from freshly made bread to food that was prepared for me due to the selection of vegetarian food not suiting.Thank you to evening one make this an amazing evening.

This training restaurant has excellent food and staff and you wouldn't know they were still training. Alanis our waitress was very helpful and friendly. All the food we had was of an excellent standard. My only niggle is that, considering it is a college training restaurant, the prices are too high, the same price as a high street restaurant. As we had a tastecard our bill was very reasonable, however without it I would have said it was over-priced. Especially the starters which were very small.

We went to The Brasserie for our work Christmas lunch. It was lovely and Christmassy on the inside, holly hanging from the ceiling and a beautiful gingerbread house on display. The food was gorgeous; it all came out hot, and all at the same time. It is a great touch being able to see your food being prepared on the T.V too!The only thing was that it did take a while for everything to come out; Christmas lunch for 8 took 3 hours, although this did include three courses each, coffee/tea afterwards and time for our secret santa.All in all, we all left extremely full and happy!

We went for a quiet pre Christmas meal and were not disappointed.We went for an early slot and were served really quickly.The starters were good and we had the turkey main, we asked for extra vegetables, and also enjoyed the deserts.

The staff were friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for our waitress Alonis who was outstanding on this very busy evening. The food as usual was up to a high standard. The chefs working here learning their trade will go far. Once again a big thank you to Sarah who oversees all the students & to our waitress of the night Alonis.

First time at the catering college. Food was great (Christmas Turkey with all the trimmings). Service was good, Fay, as was the lady who was teaching her (Julie)? Could not fault anything we will be back....the bill an absolute steal

Just arrived home from my Christmas works meal at the brasserie. Have been before on several occasions, and has always been a lovely meal. This evening however was an exception, the food was truly superb, everyone at our table of twelve could not find fault at all. Generally when going out for a Christmas meal, the food can be substandard due to the amount of custom, not however here. Amazing quality of food, cooked to perfection. And impeccable service from our waitress alanis, who was very attentive. And made sure we were looked after, even though some of our party were quite demanding at times. High praise to all involved. A wonderful evening, topped off by some delicious home made fudge to take home. Will be recommending to all my friends and family.

I recently attended a business networking event at this hidden gem in Milton Keynes. From the moment we arrived the staff were professional and accommodating, and the atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. The food here is nothing less than fantastic, it wasn't until the end of our meal that we all remembered that students had provided such exemplary food! I can thoroughly recommend this place, very few people know that it is open to the public so spread the word and enjoy this gourmet food before these chefs can charge the earth for it in a top London restaurant!

This was my fourth visit and I look forward to the next. They always are very, very obliging and even though it is a set menu will vary that for your pleasure. The deal with all the various needs of customer - vegan, veggie, GF, etc and give good quick service. Food was once again delightful and cleaned my plates. Highly recommended.

Last night my wife and I went to the Brasserie and had their tasting menu. It was excellent and was made even better by the very friendly and efficient staff.

Tried the taster menu at this wonderful restaurant run by MK College students. Excellent food, brilliant presentation, fantastic value for money - 7 taster courses for £25. The Chicken Milanese was to die for - so flavoursome and left us wanting more.

Fabulous food from people trying their very hardest to do brilliant things. Thoroughly recommended - especially the coffees!

Going to a restaurant in a college is not something that would cross my mind, However off the back of a recommendation I am glad I did. The food tasted fresh and of good quality and the service was excellent. Credit to the young chefs who, based on my experience that evening will have a promising future ahead of them. I cant wait to go back again.

Went to the Brasserie mid-week and had an excellent 3 course meal. The food was excellent - beautifully presented and well cooked by the young chefs in the kitchen. The sea bass and risotto were particularly good. The ambience was warm, welcoming and unpretentious The staff were very professional and you could have been in any good quality restaurant rather than a college Brasserie. The final surprise was the price - about half that you would pay elsewhere for the quality of food and service provided.

We visited with 2 other family members on a Wednesday night and were made to feel very welcome by the front of house team, who seated us quickly and took our drinks order.The food was very imaginative and of a very high standard, a real credit to the chef and his team of students who work in the kitchen.Overall we had a great night at what thought were very reasonable prices, so if looking for somewhere new to visit for lunch or dinner I would highly recommend the Brasserie at MK college.

The presentation was both excellent and quite enchanting, given that everything was created and served by the students themselves, aspiring to enter the wide world of food beverage and international cuisine....well worth the trip, and well worth checking out the next time you are in the |Bletchley Park area

We visited the Brasserie last Thursday as we wanted to experience the special 7 course taster menu that they were doing on that particular night.We were greeted and shown directly to our table by the friendly front of house team at which time the menu was explained to us, and drink order taken.There was a good selection of wine we had the Sauvignon Blanc which was excellent and nicely chilled.The food menu was extensive and something I would expect to find in a very upscale restaurant but at half the price, all 7 courses were original and of a very high standard a real credit to the Chef and his team of very talented students.Overall we had a wonderful evening and the personal friendly service we experienced made a real change to some of the restaurants we have visited lately. We will definitely be going back very soon and would highly recommend a visit to the Brasserie to anyone who is looking for a restaurant which offers great food and excellent service.

I loved the Brasserie and the quality of food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. They are an AA rosette college. Expect Michelin style food from the student chefs at around 15% of the price. The venue isn't as beautiful as a fine restaurants, but other than that I could not fault it, except the wine. This place isn't as popular as it shoudl be and the wines are not of the standard you would except at a fine restaurant.

Arrived unannounced ( should have booked !) anyway seated and served by two very engaging students Jodie and Emma, who looked after us brilliantly. Food was well cooked, veg a little on the cool side but didn't detract from delicious pork fillet and amazing dauphinoise. Poached eggs were soft as expected and well seasoned. We really like eating here and it is worth the journey.

Four of us had an excellent meal here last week. Food beautifully presented and served by cheerful, polite students. Faultless (and they took our taste card!!)

I went and had lunch with a friend today. I hadn't been for many years. The atmosphere was relaxed but professional. The staff are young but confident, they are attentive but not intrusive.The food was really good we had such an enjoyable time.Really worth a visit!

Myself and my partner visited this restaurant last evening. It was one the evening specials they have. This time the theme was Gourmet Burgers. We both had salt and pepper squid for starters. This was delicious with the squid soft and well seasoned on a bed of dressed green salad.I ordered a beef burger hunters style. It consisted of the tastiest beef patty I have EVER HAD. The meat was finely minced,beautifully seasoned,cooked so it was still tender and juicy. This was served topped with bacon and melted cheese in a soft brioche savoury bun. My partner also had the beef served with a Stilton cheese. Both of us agreed how tasty and perfectly cooked the pattie had been.This restaurant grows from strength to strength.One final comment the trainee student attending our table was charming,polite and very helpful.

I didn't even know The Brasserie existed until I was invited to dinner there by friends.The food was of a very very high standard and the staff were extremely attentive.A lot of thought had gone into the preparation and presentation of the food.Would thoroughly recommend.

My partner and I went for Christmas lunch yesterday. We started of with glazed ham pakoras,sausage meat bahjis with a dipping sauce of cranberries. Different original and extremely tasty. We then had the traditional Christmas lunch of Turkey with all the trimmings. Moist turkey meat generous portions three vegetables and served hot.Finally gave in to Christmas pudding ice cream with a salted caramel and brandy sauce. I thought I had gone to food heaven.Our server Fleur one of the students at the college was charming,well presented and served our courses punctually but without us feeling rushed. She was friendly and a credit not only to her tutors but also to herself.Thanks to all the students who cooked the food,the chef who supervised them and the front of house manager who kept a watchful supportive eye on the students

Had three courses from their Christmas menu. Started with Boxing Day Bon Bons , spicy gammon pakora and stuffing balls, tasted fresh, original and utterly brilliant concept. Great seasoning. Then had their Xmas lunch , moist meat and well cooked veg. Finally their Christmas pudding ice cream with salted caramel sauce. Thought I had died and gone to foody heaven. This restaurant continues to surprise and delight in equal measure. Service was provided by Fleur who was polite, efficient and well manicured. Front of house Manager Sarah is an absolute credit to this restaurant and they are very lucky to have her. Thanks to all of the team.

Just enjoyed a great meal at the Brasserie at Bletchley College. We all had three courses from the Christmas menu and each course was excellent and presentation was faultless. The service given by our waiter Jake Beeley was first class he was cheerful, polite and attentive. The students are a credit to the training staff and the college.

This is a college training restaurant so people are learning their craft. However, from the moment we arrived the atmosphere was pleasant and staff attentive (we were served by Ashley). The food was so much better than you get in many more expensive restaurants at this time of year. Well worth a try.

As I am usually disappointed with meals at this time of year I didn't have high expectations of a College Training Restaurant. What a fabulous surprise!Even though it was extremely busy our waitress Ashley (only a first year) was attentive and whisked plates etc. away as soon as everyone was finished. We all had different starters, mains and dessert but everything was available (without pre-ordering). The two chefs Nico and Crystal who came out to get feedback were engaging and knowledgeable when discussing the food.We had a second waitress Alanis who brought us coffee and our final bill and was equally attentive and charming.The food was delicious and innovative.I will definitely be back.

Visited the restaurant for lunch for the first time . The decor and feel of the restaurant doesn't have the college feel .service was attentive but a little jittery,however made up in personality.we were served by Ben who shook our hands on departure With good conversation.Bad disappointing dessert to much cream

A group of 11 visited on November 5, and enjoyed the new menu. Service was prompt and friendly. It continues to be good value at this chain. No complaints

The Brasserie has a lovely quiet ambience & excellent food cooked by the catering students at the college for the students as well as the public. I'm sure there are some future Gordon Ramsay's that will graduate from this college. This was my first visit to the Brasserie & as i'm a student there, i just had to try the food while i'm a student. I had the coconut fish goujons which were outstanding. I was greeted & served by Hussain who done an excellent job in taking my order & bringing my food. I will visit again next time i'm in college for an appointment & i wish all the staff at the Brasserie a successful career in the catering & hospitality industry.

This little place is a hidden gem. Been on many a night and special do and a few lunches. Pretty looking quality food and a very resonable price. All cooked by up and coming chefs. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

This was my first time eating at the brasserie. i was a bit dubious as the restaurant is completely staffed by the students here at the college studying Hospitality and Catering. But I needn't have worried. The service was quick, the food delicious and my nan, who came with me and has very particular tastes, said she was very impressed also.When we first came in dead on 12 we were met quickly by the staff, we were offered a choice of tables and our drink order was taken very quickly. Our waitress was Shannon and she was really professional and friendly.I ordered the burger, which today was the smoked paprika and mayo burger, which was amazing, the chips were the best ive ever eaten!! My nan ordered to chicken. which was perfectly cooked and delicious.I will definitely be back again in the future

My Nan took me to this restaurant as a little celebration for my new job. We had a table booked for 12, when we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. The staff were so friendly, and the waitress Emily did a really good job considering it was her first few times serving. I think she just needed a little more confidence and she'll become a great waitress. The food was such good value and the presentation of the food was lovely. I would definitely visit again.

I have been many times before and I decided to treat two neighbours to lunch as they hadn't been before. I had booked a table for 12.30 and all three if us arrived at that time. We were taken to our table an ver quickly were settled with a drink and had placed our food orders. Our waitress was pleasant helpful and charming. Some 45 minutes later our food arrived after I had enquired politely why had some people who had arrived AFTER us had their food whilst we were still waiting. There were apologies but the explanation I Was given upon reflection was not acceptable. All the other orders were either burgers with chips and salad OR PANINIS with chips and salad. Our order was more complex. Does that mean if four more people had arrived and we would have had to wait even longer. Surely the fishermans pie and the chilli had already been prepared much earlier and just had to be plated up. My dish of an Asian broth was tasty but hardly complex, service of food and kitchen management needs serious attention

My boyfriend decided to treat me to a valentines day dinner after seeing they were running a romantic set menu! The Food was delicious, well presented and the novelty of being able to see via live feed every dish plated up with passion and precision didn't wear off! The service was pleasant and a tutor provided guidance to the students where necessary but after all it is a training restaurant and everyone has to start somewhere! Saying that all students were friendly and accommodating! So much so we have been back since and have both agreed to chose The Brasserie's amazing food and service over any mediocre chain when wanting to dine out in MK again! Thank you very much!

Fantastic venue with great food. Great place to enjoy a 30 birthday. Food catered to the birthday boys request and staff were extremely professional. Will definitely use this again. Well done!!

Six of us booked a Christmas meal in advance. A note of our order was left on our smartly presented table as a reminder. A nervous student served our table and couldn't do enough to please. It was fantastic to watch the screen showing learners and chefs working in the bustling kitchen. Service was prompt - if anything we may have needed to slow down to make room for each tasty course. There was an abundance of hot, well presented and delicious food. Staff thoughtfully boxed up our mince pies to take-away as we were too full. Overall, fabulous value for money. Excellent to see sustainability in giving local students experience and the opportunity to showcase their skills.

I've visited The Brasserie several times in the evening. Although the choice may not be as extensive as other establishments, the food is always excellent and, because it's a training restaurant, there'll always be something out of the ordinary on the menu that you wouldn't (or couldn't) cook at home. It's got to be the best value for money in Milton Keynes.

I enjoyed an excellent meal in the Brasserie, fantastic food, prepared to a high standard! It was a delight to see the food being prepared on the TV screen by passionate and professional students, guided by expert staff chefs. I would recommend the Brasserie to everyone!

Not many people are aware of this restaurant, most of my friends weren't until I recommended them!Lovely restaurant, have eaten in many times prior to the relaunch as The Brasserie. Tuesday was my first time back since the new facelift and I wasn't disappointed- we booked for Christmas lunch and it was delicious! So delicious I wish the portion size was bigger (used to be very generous). The room was buzzing with Christmas parties and the students seemed to be managing very well with the large numbers in for lunch.I would much rather have a meal here knowing I'm supporting budding hospitality students than go to a local drive-thru for example.

I have eaten at The Brasserie several times and am always impressed by the quality of the food. It really is fine dining quality and is really well presented. I often take friends along and they always enjoy the food and the opportunity to feedback to the students.I would definitely recommend a visit!

What a truly wonderful restaurant, this place is a little jewel in the crown and the best kept secret in Bletchley. I have had numerous meals in the Brasserie and have never been dis-appointed with anything that has been served up to me or my family, to think that the meals are being prepared by students of the college and overseen by very professional chefs, this is definitely a place to visit if you are in the area. The Steak and Lobster evening was a sell out and a truly delicious meal. I will definitely be eating here many times again.

This is the a training ground for future hospitality staff and chefs, and as such you would expect a few hickups. None were found. The dining room student were lovely and made me feel very welcome and the food was delicious. A good way to get students to interact with their future customer. I will do my best to support this place in the future - a brilliant concept.

The restaurant is based within the college its self and easy to find, opposite the fire station. The restaurant its self is used for the students, front of house and the chefs themselves, there is a screen on the wall to which has a view looking onto the the pass. The menu has plenty of options starters, appetisers, main courses and desserts. 5 of eat and all had different choices and all of the meals were cooked to perfection. Only thing was they never had cocktail sticks for the olives , never mind. Enjoyed the meal and the service, will be going back again. Hope this helps.
