The Booth Wood Inn in Calderdale

We went with the family for lunch. Food was great, corned beef pie £7.95 just enough for two of us with a smaller appetite. Our son had beef wellington (a normal size portion quite large) daughter-in-law had mussels wih bread etc again a good portion. Grandson had childrens fish and chips with extra ketchup! We ended up with ginger sponge (yummy). every dish was lovely. Great restuarant and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would highly recommend. Can't wait to go again.

We had great food and a welcome break from the weather on our last visit and it was the same this time. Although this time we booked ahead. It's handy for junction 22 off the M62 and it was a foul weather afternoon. It was great to sit inside and relax out of the traffic for an hour or so. Have a drink and a really good meal and enjoy this lovely pub. I had soup. Proper home made sweet potato. Then steak pie. All really tasty and hot. A great pint of Acorn, Old Moor Porter. A great Pennine stopping place.

Great food and affordable prices combined with a nice ambience and pleasant staff.. The smaller portion of Fish and Chips was actually plenty big enough and was served hot and the fish was beautifully fresh. There are plenty of zero alcohol beers on offer and even zero Alcohol Gin and Tonic. I would highly recommend this restaurant/pub and can’t wait to go again.

A warm welcome from friendly staff was followed by an excellent meal.The retro meals are excellent value and very tasty indeed. A busy Friday lunchtime shows that the Boothwood is as popular as ever . I would recommend that you book before arriving due to its popularity

Absolutely brilliant! We’ve been coming regularly for a few years now and the food, service and place is faultless every single time.

I should have listened to the lady on the next table who said the portions were really good, but eyes bigger than belly got the better of me! The food and service was excellent, but if you want starters and puddings, unless you are really, really hungry, the retro menu (designed for smaller appetites) is probably enough - and even those portions were good! Good range of alcohol free drinks which is always very welcome! First time visit, but we will definitely be back.

Visited the Booth Wood to celebrate my Mum's birthday with family. All eight of us enjoyed the delicious meals that were served. Excellent service with courteous staff. Highly recommend a visit to the Booth Wood Inn.

My girlfriend and I had lunch here a couple days ago. Spent not an insignificant amount. Couple of really lovely ladies at lunch time but one very very unfriendly dark blonde/brown haired who served us lunch. Didn’t bother to find out her name but Felt like her face would crack if she tried a smile. Not sure if it’s racism but she was quite friendly to other guests but not even a smile or a hello to us and looked positively put out that she had to serve us. Not that I care, just wanted to eat and go home. but certainly far from a warm welcome. Would not visit here again. Food was just about ok.

This was our first visit and on arrival at the pub we were greeted with a lovely warm, friendly welcome. We were immediately seated at our table, though we were offered drinks in the bar first if we preferred. Great choice of foods on the menu. Four of us dined and we all chose different but thoroughly enjoyed each of our meals and desserts. We loved the atmosphere and interior of the Booth Wood Inn and would definitely recommend to our friends and family. Thank you very much Booth Wood for such an enjoyable lunch. Fantastic Sunday lunch was had. A last minute excursion off the M62. Met with a lovely warm welcome managed to squeeze us in with no booking. Attentive staff all lovely and chatty. Seated by the stove with one veggie option and one Sunday roast. Perfect!

Booked for Sunday lunch for a family meal for 6. One couple in our party arrived 1/2 hour late which could have caused an issue for the restaurant- as it was very busy- but the manager kept assuring us it was ok and the whole meal was very tasty. 5 of us had the Sunday lunch 3 courses, and 1 had the braised steak and mash from the specials board. Everyone loved what they had. Friendly, cosy atmosphere. Staff great. Not visited before but will definitely be back. Great value. Thank you

We called in for a late lunch on our way home from Manchester, we didn't have a booking but we were fitted in. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious, unlike the usual chain pub food. The surroundings are lovely, will be back next time we go over the Pennines.

We took our family for Sunday lunch, this being a party of 6. Everything went exceptionally well. Nice table, good atmosphere and most of all really good food. One of our party was our great grandchild, all the staff made a great fuss over her, and am sure the whole room enjoyed this. I had the duck breast special, and it was more than special, cooked the way I like it, pink in the middle, Probably the best duck I have ever had, and that is really saying something. Will be back
