The Boot Inn in South Derbyshire

Visited Saturday evening with Friends from the south. thought we`d take them for a lovely meal in a wonderful place. I`ve always had Fish and Chips pretty much on every visit, this visit was know different, thankfully our friends didn`t choose the fish and chips, only I did, at least they had something better. it came out looking like what i thought was, a child`s portion, fish half the size of previous visits, skinny chips with skins on. obviously been changes to the menu, if its not broken, it doesn`t need fixing. we did reflect this in the tip we left. Obviously didn`t want to cause a fuss with our visitors present either. Fish and Chips going forward, please consider thick cut chips and a decent piece of fish? not to mention the price increase attached to a lesser meal.

We were looking at very short notice to have a 4 guest Sunday lunch with room for a pram. Gluten free options were essential and we weren’t disappointed. We booked our table with ease, the GF options were expertly described to us. The food was fantastic. Can’t be more positive.

I was a little worried as we were late for dinner due to floods, but the staff were lovely and very understanding. Sunday lunch was amazing, with the best cauliflower cheese ever. The corn fed chicken breast was moist and very tasty. There was plenty on the plate, without it being too much. We will be back again soon.

The Boot put on a lovely curry for 30 on a Saturday night and it was brilliant. Great atmosphere in the pub and lots of good beer too.

Excellent food and service as always. Good menu choices and quality ingredients. Lovely friendly atmosphere and decor cosy after recent refurb. Staff are brilliant, restaurant and bar, and nice choice of cocktails!

Amazing food! A delightful Sunday lunch, my whole family cleared their plates! The most succulent chicken and a georgeous couliflower soup, couldnt recommend more! A lovely Sunday spent.

Really enjoyed the savoury and sweet combinations of the mushroom parfait and tasty toast. The confi duck had great flavour and texture, the fish pie was delicious. The creme caramel was lovely and smooth, the treacle tart was very tasty but the pastry was a little thick and hard. Service was friendly and attentive, we had a lovely time.

Visited for a Champagne breakfast for a 60th birthday. Lovely staff, delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

Lovely pub with great food in the centre of Repton. Service was excellent. The venue is dog friendly. We will visit again when next in the area.

Came for my birthday on Sunday with friends and had Sunday lunch, Could not fault a thing. Food was amazing and the service just fabulous. Special mention to Jack & Will who looked after us. Can’t wait to return. See you soon.

Haven't visited for a while and ordered fish & chips which used to be lovely. Unfortunately this time the chips were second rate: thin and almost certainly frozen, nothing like the thick, hand-cut ones they used to do. Did mention this to the waitress, who confirmed that it was a change brought in buy the new chef: suggest you change the chef then!

Food was banging service was very friendly Just a shame I had to sell a kidney to pay for it!! But we did have a lovely evening out!
