Sunday lunch was great - plenty of food, couldn’t manage desert !! Bar area very very noisy but restaurant ok. Will definitely go again.

A little pricey for the quality of food if you're not getting their lunch deal. Kids meal was OK but fish fingers weren't that nice. Calamari was nice but pricey for 2 rings.

Traditional country pub, owners are very helpful. Food is fantastic and not overly priced.

This was our first visit here and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, varied menu, at keen prices.We we're looked after by those serving us, and we wanted for nothing. I'd recommend it, and would definitely go again.

Although we are led to believe that the food is really good, except for the delicious roast potatoes and gravy that are often on the bar on a sunday, we haven't yet eaten here. However, when we go in for a drink on a weekend it is a very friendly and family orientated pub, and we enjoy sitting in the sun trap of a beer garden without a care in the world

Phoned this pub to see if they could accommodate about 40 people for brunch the day after my daughter’s wedding. Everyone wanted to watch the women’s World Cup semi final match with England playing. What an amazing find this pub was. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. There were lots of televisions and even a great garden for my two grandsons. Can’t praise this pub enough.

Had my mums 70th birthday party there. Was faultless. Great day and evening. Food was great. Staff were fantastic. Bouncy castle laid on for the kids just brilliant all round.

It wasn’t so Bonnie. Offered food outside on signs went in got told by one staff member they had no staff we walked out and took our business elsewhere

Only accepted cash. Menu looked fine and had no bread. We can all have a bad day. Very polite staff.

Great breakfast, never been there after 1pm though. They have made some changes recently and it looks great. One of my regular places to got for breakfast. 10/10

Had a lovely Sunday roast with family, lots of choice on the menu the roast was very tasty and plenty of it. The staff were charming and couldn't do enough for you. The desserts were delicious also!!! ☺

I was invited to a family breakfast at the Bonnie Blue Oak this morning. The table was booked for 10.15am. We did not get served until well after 11am and then the food we ordered was not what we got and it was cold. It seems the only excuse was they were busy. It was pathetic.If I had been paying the bill I simply would not have paid. This pub should not advertise itself as a place to get food. When asked why the food was not what we all ordered, ''a full English'',the exuse was they were busy. When told the food was delivered cold they answer was 'sorry'. Avoid this eatery if you want good food,served well and on time. Paul F

Brilliant service and excellent food for eight gentlemen. Three courses plus coffee and mince pies. We agreed it was the best Christmas meal we had eaten this season. We have eaten breakfast and dinner here and always had a good meal and at a good price.

Visited last night for the Christmas set menu, the food was absolutely lovely & there was so much of it. Every member of staff we met were super friendly and really went the extra mile to ensure we had a lovely time. Really could not recommend highly enough. Please just visit, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for a great evening, see you again soon!

I’ve attended two events/functions at The Bonnie Blue Oak now and both times the staff have been so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Especially the man behind the bar, he’s a right laugh and made sure everyone was okay at all times(I’m guessing he’s the owner). This place has a great atmosphere to it, it’s very good value for money too. Would definitely recommend it for events/functions or for a drink on a Saturday night with your friends. Great place, will be coming back to try their food soon :)

A hidden gem and we'll worth a visit. One of the best Sunday lunches I have had with a choice of beef, pork, lamb,chicken, mixed meat, salmon or a nut roast. I went for the beef and my wife the pork. Both cooked to perfection and served on a plate with a Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and roast potatoes Vegetables and gravy were plentiful and served separately along with any required sauces and everything was piping hot. We will most definitely be going back.

Found this gem of a pub whilst looking at Layer Marney tower. Popped in for Sunday lunch after visiting the tower and wow what a lovely surprise. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our roast lunch and dessert and the price was very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we left feeling very full and happy that we had found such a lovely place to eat. We will definitely be visiting again soon, even though it's over 30 miles away. A big thank you to the team and chef for the warm welcome and lovely food.

We popped in for some food on a Saturday night whilst down for the weekend working and were more than happy with the overall experience. The sausage and mash was spot on, very reasonably priced, lovely people and wonderful service. Will definitely be back if we're ever in the area again. Bonus that it's also dog friendly :)

We stopped off here for lunch, having read the other reviews. When we walked in the fronty door I thought WOW how clean and nice, and then we were greeted by the most freindly and helpful young lady who served us very effieciently and carefully. We were given nice clean place mats for the table, and when our food came is was very well presented and cooked just right. The price was very reasonable also. All in all a very good experience.

My partner and I both enjoyed a first class lunch here today. I chose to have the roast beef and he went for the pork, both meats were very tender and flavoursome and were accompanied by roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, a good variety of vegetables, horseradish/ applesauce and a boat of delicious gravy. Although there was plenty of it we couldn't resist a dessert. I enjoyed the apple and cherry crumble served with custard and my partner went for the biscoff cheesecake and cream. Both were most enjoyable. This reasonably priced meal was served in a clean newly refurbished area, by staff that were very welcoming & had a "nothing is to much trouble attitude ". We will definitely be revisiting.

Had a great Sunday roast with the family. Nice atmosphere. Had the large mixed meat roast. Can't wait to back already! The only point I would make is the wine range could do with a little updating.

Lovely friendly pub with a large dog friendly garden. Food was excellent well worth finding, having being turned away from the Blue Anchor as not dog friendly and empty,it was nice to find a warm welcome at the Bonnie Blue Oak and food! We stayed, all evening and will be back when next time in the area.

Found this lovely gem of of a " proper pub" in my quest for a Sunday roast while staying n Mark's Tey.Superb tender meat, fabulous roast potatoes, gravy yummy, perfectly cooked veg, cauliflower cheese and a Biscoff cheesecake to finish.A real home cooked feel to the food.Well kept pint, nice wine, a massive shout out to the owners and staff, Lauren in particular, who despite being ran off her feet was polite, courteous and happy to help.If I lived locally, this would be my local!Superb!!

We had a family reunion lunch here on Tuesday, after being separated from our loved ones for more than a year by the pandemic. I'm so pleased that we chose this place. The food was heavenly, and the warm welcome made our day extra special. We are already planning our next visit. A big thank you to all at The Bonnie Blue Oak. x

Kelvin and his team have been supplying my 93 year old Mother in Tiptree, a fantastic cooked meal every Sat & Sunday, during lockdown, delivered piping hot to her door every week. I think when this lockdown is over, she will still keep this take away service up! I with two business colleagues on Tuesday this week met here for a business breakfast, wow, food was fantastic, service from the waitress excellent, and with the restaurant, very compliant for social distancing, great value, well done Kelvin, keep it up!!

Huge thanks to the Bonnie Blue Oak pub in Tiptree for delivering a lovely Sunday roast to my vulnerable Mum, and they even took the trouble to phone up afterwards to see if she was happy with it and if she wanted breakfasts doing as well! Can highly recommend them.

This pub stayed open during covig19 lockdown. They were closed down right away but obviously dont give a monkeys about anyones health. Stay away from here

Found this lovely little gem of a place online this morning rang them and got a table no problem for three of us. What an excellent roast dinner we had here one of the best we have had in a long time all came out piping hot and plenty of it and excellent value too. Megan our waitress was absolutely brilliant, very friendly, chatty and efficient a lovely girl. We shall definitely be back with more members of the family and will definitely be recommending it to family and friends.

Visiting family, so I only had a few minutes in this pub. The manager/land lady was really welcoming, the pint of porter I had was delicious and it's dog friendly, which was a bonus.

Came here as the cafe at Perrywoods was so busy. So glad we did. Lovely food and fantastic service, our waitress Megan was brilliant. We will definitely be back, it's great value as well.

Really nice pub in Tiptree. Not been in any others in the area so can't compare. But I played a Pool match against their team. Great atmosphere lovely people. Also have a quiz night on Wednesday there too. And it was good to walk in and see the football was in.

I was looking for a restaurant near to my dad's care home and looked on trip advisor.It came up with a number of restaurant's and I was drawn to this one.Off the beaten track but easy to get to and it is 10mins from my dad's care home.Ideal location, friendly staff, delicious food and plenty off it. Good value for money.

Lived in Tiptree for almost 10 years and never been to the Bonnie Blue Oak. Visited today with friends - one of whom is from the East End and raves about the best Pie Liquor n Mash outside of London! Never had this before but was delicious! The lady who greeted us and served us was very welcoming. Had to wait a while for the food but was fresh, hot and tasty! Will defo be returning

Enjoyed lunch here recently and received a warm welcome and attentive service. The food was delicious, we had burgers and the All day breakfast. It was freshly cooked and the chips were so good. Very good value & I highly recommend you pay it a visit.

We stopped in to have a drink and a meal while waiting to go to see a Kyds drama production at local school. Great service, friendly people, excellent food, fair prices, nice wine......will def eat/drink here again when in the area. Two meals for £10.....bloody good.

Dropped in on a Saturday for lunch couple of weeks ago with my partner bar and waitress service by the lovely .tee jay was very welcoming food was Devine spot on large portions and very delicious will definitely come again and recommend to friends and family .

food very good last couple of times served by a heavy set and very sweaty short haired waitress who at times came across quite arrogant and far to familiar while we were trying to eat. value and presentation of the food is excellent .
