The Bok Shop in Brighton and Hove

We spent a fair amount of money on deliveroo and was VERY dissapointed in what we received! Presentation was terrible and the tender quantity was awful!

Had a perfect evening @thebokshop - a mooch around the shops and dinner at @bokshop. Not our first visit but absolutely love it every time we go! I had the ‘Jennifer Buffalopez’ which is a fried chicken thigh burger in honey and ginger buffalo sauce with blue cheese sauce. We shared captain super fries, chicken wings in barbecue sauce and coleslaw and fried pickles. I washed it down with a lotus biscoff milkshake 🫢🤩 and had to go immediately to bed coz I was so stuffed!

Outstanding food, the Katsu fries are awesome. Lots of variety and heat levels to suit all. Jennifer Buffalopez burger all the way. It was as if Jen was dancing on my tounge.

Five of us visited as we had seen the review on you tube and thought it look great. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain so everyone was squashed in the shop trying to eat which didn’t help It took ages to be made and it wasn’t that tasty . fries were awful and for the cost I think a proper let down . We won’t be visiting again

We have only ever had take away and we always had hot as cluck chicken burger. It is the best burger I’ve ever had! So much so that l can’t have a burger anywhere else as l know I’ll compare. It is so good l crave it all the time. Spicy enough, super tasty and delivery is quick. Amazing!

The bok shop was excellent just what I expected from what I had seen, it was most definitely the best ever burger I have ever tasted, excellent service, definitely worth the money, definitely go again.

Burger buns were too sweet and soggy. The chicken dirty fries were nice apart from the fact it didn’t taste like chicken. Burger buns way too small for the chicken.

Excellent Wings. Well if like me you enjoy chicken wings and great tasting meaty chicken wings with loads of flavour then head for The Bokshop in Brighton. Good sized menu and mainly as a take away but there is some limited seating inside. If having wings with sauce like I did (omg!!) then you will need some wet wipes afterwards. Not cheap but great quality and great value for money. Thanks Team Bokshop I will be back !

This was absolutely terrible. Myself and 2 friends got a delivery from here 2 vegan burgers, 1 chicken. Chicken one was passable, the vegan versions were laughable. This place used to be the crème de la crème, but the new buns, chicken and vegan versions are atrocious. I know there is an egg shortage right now but 2ml of mayonnaise on an already extremely dry Vegan chicken burger? £6 for a katsu fries upgrade, no katsu sauce???? What on earth has happened to this place, used to be a place I recommended to people, sucks to see it go this way…

My partner and his friend both ordered a takeaway from here and got food poisoning, can confirm it was from here as was the only food shared by them both.

I always loved a bok. I’d tell everyone “TRY a BOK!! TRY Goku Tenders!! Try a Jennifer Buffalopez!!!” How things have changed, no more juicy chicken, wonderful, sauces or beautiful brioche buns. Things have gone bad. I had a dried up thin piece of chicken in what seem to be a supermarket roll. I guess the private investors are looking for a return on their investment, and as rapid expansion hasn’t worked there now driving down costs in every area they can. That’s a guess I don’t know if it’s true or not, but what I can tell you is the food has gone so downhill avoid Bok at all costs. So sad to see a business run by people that really cared (or used to) about quality go so off the rails. RIP BOK, you’d all be better off at a KFC & that’s saying something :(

My partner and I often order from here as we love the different spicy sauces, but the last few times we've ordered via Deliveroo, our order has been missing key items. Forget them once, we'll forgive you, forget them two or three times, and I'm afraid we'll find somewhere else to eat, especially as we didn't get properly refunded and their prces have shot up. I mean, how difficult is it to prepare and pack some chicken, chips and a slaw!?

The Vegan Goku tenders were on point (tender flavourful and so tasty) so much so we ordered another portion even though we weren’t hungry. Ian was really helpful & informative. We look forward to returning & trying the vegan burgers next time we are in town. Great service great food.

I had the chicken tenders in Buffalo sauce. Apparently the sauce is an award winner as stated on their menu. It’s far from it. The chicken tenders were loaded with a cheap, vinegary type of Sriracha sauce and nothing like what I’d imagine a Buffalo sauce would be. The sauce destroyed what I thought was decent enough chicken by it being poured all over it and it’s crispy coating turning the whole thing into a soggy slop!

So starting off i must say the food was exquisite, the wings were on point with that nice bbq sauce on the side, but im sure im not the only who had a bad aftermath, made my farts smell so bad, i had a lecture in the morning and my peers did not enjoy the unpleasent smell. By the end of the lecture the whole room stank and there was not enough windows to get a flow of wind in there. I could feel it all coming out at one point im glad it didnt give me skid marks on my new tighty whities given to me by my late grandmother. Other than that ill make sure not to eat this again on a sunday night. Once again food was delicious, excellent wings.

I have been to this shop 4-5 times and I have always found it to be a calm, happy and welcoming environment. We have the GOKU chicken and it’s amazing. The chips have a great coating too.I was served by Elliot, Harri and they were amazing.I recommend this takeaway

Went today to Bok, ordered chicken wings and fries. X3. All the food was cold and soggy. We complained and served new food but still cold. No apology what so ever. Complained again and did get our money back but was very disappointing as the food is not cheap and I can’t understand how food supposedly cooked to order can be cold.

I got a takeaway piggie smalls from the Wallington branch (currently closed) and it was by far the best burger I have ever eaten. I've been craving one ever since and have tried a handful of burger stores to find something to match this burger, so far nothing has. It was so good that when my other half wanted a staycation I gave her a choice of Brighton, Eastbourne or Hastings so I could grab myself another. It is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for and I only hope the Wallington branch opens again in the near future.

Just very overpriced hardly any flavour to the actual chicken coating no herbs of even salt and pepper that i could tell. Shame as was looking forward to nice chicken but would have been better sticking to kfc or nandos

I order from Bok shop often and every time they hit it out the park. Sublime burgers and wings, food always arrives piping hot and there captain super fries are the best fries in Brighton. Can’t wait to keep ordering!

Only had time for 1 meal in Brighton , and the city has an amazing choice of eateries. I chose Bok shop as it looked like it was going to be good and the menu sounded interesting, carefully planned and more-over plausible. £14 fir a meal deal……. Chicken was freshly prepared. Bun unimaginative mad produced ‘brioche’ bun (I recognised it straight away from a frozen food catalogue) flavourless and prepared FAR too ahead cucumber, way too much chilli sauce that swamped that spongy ‘brioche’ and the nutty, crunchy satay I was promised??? Teaspoon full at best. Chips, standard McCains/lamb Weston stay crisp with an extremely salty “seasoning” over them, oh, and a CAN of DrPepper…. Guess I’ll be told I called at the wrong time, or maybe I just won’t be taken for a monkey. Great concept, poorly executed, but it has SO much promise.

The delivery through deliveroo is pretty fast, and the driver had his foil bag. However I am wondering how did my food arrive cold? It must have been cooked earlier and held because everything was just dry and cold.

I ordered a "Hot as Cluck" burger, instead of coming up with clever names and Hollywood special affects, why not just serve a burger that looks like the photos. The pics are just a bait and switch as you don't get a big piece of chicken it's a flat piece that's no way near worth the money.Won't be buying again

Brilliant chicken tenders and we love the chips. Best fried chicken we’ve found in Brighton, but not always consistent. We order via Deliveroo and often there is something missing. The team at Bok shop have always been great, but a little more attention to the details would go a long way to near perfect.

Have ordered multiple times from the Bok Shop and the quality of the orders vary dramatically. The last few orders I had were unacceptable. The tenders where the size of small chicken nuggets and there was hardly any chicken in the burger. Unbelivable that they charged £20 for that! Gave them one last chance as initially I did enjoy the taste of some of the products however the last order was even worse with no sauce on the wings and again ridiculous portion sizes.

Burgers were cooked to perfection. Chicken was crispy and burger wasn’t soggy at all. We also tried the deep fried pickles which I was dubious about but they were also crispy and lovely.

Mis compañeros de piso y yo pedimos en The Bok Shop a través de UberEats y quedamos amargamente decepcionados. Dos de nosotros optamos por el vegetariano Classic Burger y Jennifer Buffalopez. Ambos fueron servidos con empanadas desinfladas, no se parecían en nada a las fotos anunciadas y eran una fracción del tamaño. El Jennifer Buffalopez se ahogó en salsa de queso azul, pero solo tenía tres piezas de apio y algunas hebras de lechuga iceberg húmeda para contrarrestar el insípido sustituto de la carne. También tuvimos el mismo problema con la hamburguesa clásica, que estaba ahogada en mayonesa y era igualmente blanda y repugnante. Mi otro compañero de piso eligió la hamburguesa clásica de pollo y estaba igualmente decepcionado, afirmando que tenía un sabor claramente a pescado. Las papas fritas sazonadas se sirvieron frías y, para rematar, no entregaron las salsas adicionales por las que nos cobraron 1 cada una.El pedido llegó una hora más tarde de lo esperado, lo que significa que esperamos dos horas después de haber pedido que llegara la comida. En este punto, teníamos tanta hambre que habríamos comido cualquier cosa. Somos estudiantes, así que salir a comer es un lujo poco común para nosotros y por el precio de 12 por una hamburguesa, papas fritas y una lata de coca cola caliente, hubiéramos estado mejor en McDonald's.

Concepto y menú promedio pero pobre mala ejecución! Obtuve las licitaciones picantes que me dijeron que estarían listas en 10 minutos, asumí que freirían el pollo recién hecho y sería agradable, crujiente y jugoso, en cambio obtuve algo que se mantuvo bajo lámparas de calor en un recipiente cubierto temido con salsa ! ¡Todo estaba empapado, tibio en el mejor de los casos y tenía ganas de masticar mucha masa empapada! Les pedí que lo reemplazaran, lo cual hicieron y me dieron exactamente lo mismo otra vez. ¡Increíble y vergonzoso engañar a los clientes que pagan de esta manera! ¡Lo tiré a la papelera, a lo que no se disculparon ni en lo más mínimo!

Un amigo recomendó este lugar y fue un pollo increíble.Tuve la hamburguesa Satay Night Fever que estaba cocinada a la perfección con un bollo brioche y una salsa increíble. Tenía las papas fritas sazonadas en el lado que eran la cantidad justa de especias y tan sabrosas.Definitivamente regresaremos aquí para comer cuando esté de regreso en Brighton - 10/10.

Mi novio pidió una hamburguesa de pollo de esta broma desastrosa de un lugar.Prometido: hamburguesa de pollo grande y carnosa, llena de bondad.Recibido: hamburguesa plana, minúscula y miserable con papas fritas baratas que parecía haber sido descartada por alguien que buscaba una vida mejor.Punto más doloroso: pagó 13 por esto.Terrible. This is the second time I have been to bok shop and the wings are still as good as I remember. My go to place for chicken wings when in Brighton.

Comida increíble Elegí los teneders sencillos porque soy blanco y era genial, incluso los pequeños tienen muchas ofertas y pedí dos salsas. Ellos donde la comida excelente llegó muy rápido, ya que la recogí momentos después de ordenar. Gran lugar muy recomendable. (¿Tengo que admitir que el pollo estaba tan bueno que me excitó? ‍?)

Ordered a chicken burger and chips combo with drink and after a long wait I received a cold meal. HOWEVER, after a quick call my girlfriend spoke to Sam. It was sorted straight away with either a refund or the same again. These lovely people had offered to add a few extra things to our order. It came faster than a strike of Zeus's thunderbolt. They had given us the same combo meal + chicken tendies and a massive portion of buffalo wings plus a few beers for the cherry on the top voila. This is seriously some of the best food I have ever eaten and the nicest takeaway experience I have ever had. If you live in Brighton do yourself a favour and order from these people!

He estado en Bok varias veces ahora. Cada vez que la comida ha sido genial! Mi favorito es el "Jenifer Buffalopez" con papas fritas sazonadas. Cada vez que hemos estado tranquilos, muchas cosas se han agotado, lo que creo que muestra cuán popular es este lugar. Definitivamente vale la pena probarlo. ¡Reserve con anticipación ya que solo hay unas pocas mesas y no querrá perderse!

Just finished a bottomless brunch at the bok shop. Awesome chicken and Rich kept the Prosecco flowing for us. Delicious thighs (Rich and the chicken) and very friendly efficient handsome staff! Will be back every payday!

My partner and I regularly visit Bok and it's delicious every time. We like Bok particularly as they serve both vegan and meat options, which is perfect for us. They have recently updated their vegan tenders, which are out of this world - when I got them I honestly thought I'd been given chicken by mistake and had to check with my partner!

A friend and I came here for the first time because we wanted to try the pickle fries and she loves vegan fried chicken. Amazing food. I had the veggie Jennifer Buffalopez and we shared sides of Goku vegan chicken wings, katsu fries and frickes.The vegan wings were the best vegan fried chicken we've ever had and the burger was delicious.Great service, food came out fast, reasonably priced and our server Rich was absolutely lovely. Visited this place on a Saturday night ,not very busy. Ordered Chicken Wings which were hot on the outside ,as I started eating ,blood started running down my thumb .I pulled the chicken apart to find a red bloody mess by the bone (see photo) When I complained , I was told that they were baby chickens and they tend to bleed !? I still have the receipt if anyone wants to challenge the authenticity of this post

It was my first time to eat at the Bok Shop Eastbourne and I did like the place because it’s a bit cozy and the staffs are friendly. I did try the Classic Burger and it tasted good with the sauce. The outside of the chicken was just a bit over-fried? for me but other than that it was delicious and affordable. Thank you to Ruste for getting me a table as there was no vacant when I came and for the exceptional quality service. I can’t wait to try the other burgers on my next visit.
