The Boardwalk Bar & Dining in South Derbyshire

Disappointing is the only way I can explain it. We had potatoes braves and king prawn tapas to share for a starter, old and little flavour. Main I had beef rib massaman, very little sauce and little flavour, sprinkling a few peanuts doesn’t make a massaman. My wife had ox cheek, which the menu said came with onions in horseradish but when arrived was just a piece of meat in a sticky sauce and a bowl of chips, which said were hand cut chunky but were more like fries. Didn’t have a sweet Did mention the above to waitress, who said would tell chef but it was obvious that she had no intention of !! After positive feedback you can understand why I thought it was a disappointing experience

What a fantastic Sunday roast we had here! The whole meal was beautifully cooked and, considering the quality, very reasonably priced. We’ll certainly be returning.

Amazing Mother’s Day meal, there was a mix up with our booking and we were seated downstairs, the manager managed to move things around for us and got us upstairs. Friendly attentive service and great food the whole family enjoyed. Tables were laid up with flowers and mum even got a special gift. Will be returning.

Very poor experience due to the fact that some .. not all barstaff completely ignore you. You are expected to ring a bell if the bars unstaffed ! Thought that was what you did in a hotel not a bar ! When I want to leave and pay the bill I don't want to see the bar staff I've just asked to then walk away and start serving other customers very rude. Seems like customers are very undervalued.

The place and staff are nice but we were disappointed to find you can book a table just for drinks. As we aren’t allowed to leave cars overnight, we are forced to either take taxis or a bus to get here only to find you have nowhere to sit. Personally I don’t want to arrive not knowing whether I’m going to have to stand up for the duration of our visit.

Just had 3 dishes off the new tapas menu! Wow best I've had. Lemon prawns, crispy chilli beef & teriyaki chicken were all 10 out of 10. Added the pork belly starter again 10 out of 10.

Came for the New Years Eve celebration with some friends. Food was absolutely amazing, friendly service and loved the live music from Gareth Humphreys! A really special night and a great way to see the new year through, thank you!
