The Blue Man in Brighton and Hove

Went in just for a drink and to read a book and ended having a few good dishes and a good laugh. The chefs looked like they where enjoying while making the food and I could notice by the presentation and the taste of it, the waitress (Maho) was very helpful and delivered the service with a smile all the time. A nice place to be by yourself and the good company of Maho, or with friends and of course the good company of Maho, and the delicious food coming out of that lovely, tiny and magical kitchen, I think the name of the chef was Peter, great hands and taste. Very good energy, very good food, very good ambient and Biutiful decoration. 101% recommended.

We had lunch here on Sunday 31 March. This was our first visit to this place tucked away on a side street in the North Laines. The inside ambience is very cosy with lovely decor. There is outside seating on a little terrace too. My wife has a gluten, dairy and egg free diet but it was not an issue and the lady was very helpful with the menu. There are various small dishes and some mains on a specials board. We chose a variety of small dishes. They were all delicious! We felt like the food was excellent! Everything was full of flavour and well presented. The chef did a wonderful job and staff were welcoming and helpful. We will definitely come back here when we next visit Brighton. Thank you.

I really don't want this review. Why? Well, I really don't won't others to know about this amazing cafe/restaurant - I want to keep this Brighton gem to myself! We went for the first time on Sunday with our three grown kids, who enjoy great cooking. They all cook to a high standard themselves and understand the process of food prep and the importance of great service (one of my sons works in hospitality). We so enjoyed our alternative Easter lunch. Dish after dish of incredible Algerian cuisine. We are already planning our next visit The Blue Man.

We popped in for coffee but stayed for lunch and dessert! Fabulous really tasty selection to share, beautifully presented by bubbly Majo. A great visit, we will be back.

I love this place. This is now the 4th or 5th time I’ve been to Blueman, almost don’t want to tell anyone else about it and keep it to myself! Food is consistently great, fab service and great location. You will not be disappointed!! Go, go and go again

This pretty little restaurant is situated perfectly in the North Laines, lit up by night with sparkly coloured lights. The decor is traditional North African & boasts qwerky colourful pictures & ornaments giving it a real authentic vibe. We were welcomed by Maria, a super friendly server who makes the best cocktails. The food was so tasty, all freshly made & piping hot served in traditional crockery. Hands down, the best Tagine I've ever tasted. All reasonably priced & perfect portions. I will 100% be returning. A real Brighton gem 😊😋

Absolutely delicious. I had a spicy chicken wrap, with very tasty salad. My wife really enjoyed her chicken tagline. Fantastic Service from Maria & her male colleague, super friendly. Also good to see Majit The boss, who we already knew.

Wow nothing short of fabulous found by accident, from opening the door to find a warm embracing atmosphere of coziness and laughter I knew this was going to be different but devine and how right i was-a little teaser shot of quirky freebe nutritious palate cleanser to small plates of heaven from Algeria, it was like discovering opera for the first time. Service was discreet and wonderful, I just think I found the hidden gem of Brighton.

Had the most amazing evening at the Blue Man in Brighton laines. Highly recommend choosing from the kemia selection, delicious, well presented North African flavours. After being to all the blue man’s over the years in Brighton I’m delighted that it has returned better than ever. Had a few small nibbles and four kemias from the menu to share as two people and ended with a superb espresso martini. Fantastic location, excellent service & delicious flavoursome food.

Beautiful interior, taking you to North Africa, cozy, great playlist too. The food is excellent, based on Algerian family recipes. Staff are also super friendly. Overall I can’t fault it.

Un bar pequeñito, minutesaway desde la estación y frente al mar, con fantástica comida del norte de África, un personal agradable y un ambiente fantástico. Hay una preciosa habitación en la planta baja que es utilizada a menudo para música tocatas y fiestas privadas, y durante el Brighton Fringe alberga una completa muestra de calidad alta comedia programa. No te lo pierdas esta joya!

Vine aquí para una noche de comedia y decidimos llegar temprano y ordenar comida y bebidas. Estaba un poco frustrado y me dijeron de reserva no era necesario para que el momento del día para llegar y no encontrar mesas pero nos las arreglamos para encontrar una esquina para tomar bebidas antes de trasladarnos a una mesa antes de pedir comida. Estábamos abajo, donde se celebran las actuaciones y nos pareció un ambiente encantador (buena música! ). La comida era buena y bonito tener un buen té de menta. Excelente actuación de comedia lo hizo aún mejor. Sin duda volveremos!

Ambiente encantador, el personal muy amable y las opciones de comida son lugar de comida principal o varios platos más pequeños dependiendo de cómo hambre tienes. Excelente gama de licores. El único inconveniente es que puede estar muy concurrido y no hay mesas a la izquierda para la cena. Todavía está muy bien para tomar una copa allí. No hay muchos lugares como este sobre para el ambiente y el efecto relajante que proporciona!

Este café escondido sirve buena comida del norte de África. El personal es amable, la decoración es tan guay y tienen una zona de abajo puedes alquilar para una ocasión especial. Las bolas de queso eran magníficas y el merguez también era bueno.Me encanta este lugar y sin duda volveremos!

If you are looking to have a different meal in Brighton this is the place. Small, nice and quiet, delicious food, cooked with attention to detail, passion and love! Very reasonable prices for the quality of the food. Very good service!

Organised a social gathering here and arranged a price per head in advance. Planning arrangements went very well, but on the night, we were squeezed on to a table which was far too small for the agreed number of guests. We regretted ordering a pre-agreed menu in advance with a price per head as the sharing portions were woefully inadequate and far less than that per person to other customers' meals. When the bill came, the manager asked for more money than was agreed. Really spoilt everyone's evening and none of us would return!

We arrived for a friends engagement drinks to what appeared to be some free seating. After drinks were ordered and we were seated we then got told that half the area was reserved so we moved in accordance with their requirements. As we had a relatively large group, had we been told BEFORE drinks were ordered we would have happily moved elsewhere. We were then told we could have a large table upstairs which the people who had reserved the downstairs area were occupying. They werent willing to do a direct swap. We were then told that the whole area downstairs had been reserved (story had changed) and we needed to leave immediately despite the fact that members of the group had full drinks. Had the bar staff been upfront to start off with, the situation wouldnt have arisen. Avoid this place if there are more than 2 of you!

A taste of all things north African. The fresh mint tea, slightly sweetned comes served in an authentic pot. The food (falafel wrap, wedges, hummus and olive tapenade) was delicious and my request that it be vegan as no problem for staff. They even had a sign up encouraging people to make any adjustments they wished. I always leave feeling happy and relaxed as the beautiful decor is a feast for the eyes. Highly recommended.

I booked the downstairs for my private downstairs party.Aggressive staff -hideous atmosphere, covertly racist blatently misogynistic clientele .Not recommended unless you wish you & your friends to be insulted and belittled at your birthday party.
