We had such a nice time, lovely service and food until the manager came over with a complaint from ‘another client’ because of my gay friends were sharing a kiss. After we had paid (BY THE WAY) he manager walked up to us and said that this was not policy in his establishment. I’m outraged and disgusted. I will not be coming back here. We only demanded our service charge back but we should have got a full refund where we paid £82 for 3 brunches! Disgusting.

I have wanted to try this restaurant out for a while and thought my birthday lunch would be ideal. The food is delicious and the service excellent, we had a great time. Maybe a smaller menu would make it easier to order :) Will go back again soon.

Below average food not prepared for young children . We joined family for Sunday brunch with our 3 year old granddaughter. Some of the family are vegan and the choice of the menu was reasonable good. My omelette of mushroom and cheese was not pleasant. Mushroom had been precooked and very oily and rubbery. The omelette was over cooked and tasted burnt. My wife toasted breakfast that included avocado on sourdough was just a little spread. Would have expected a thicker layer of crushed avocado. No children cutlery available.👎 Waitress responsible for our table was friendly but forgot a few things including my coffee that was ordered with everyone. 6out of 10

RIP OFF cafe. Single scramble egg for a baby, single fired egg and chip twice for kids, 2 normal Adult breakfast with 3 none taste orange juice with foam and plenty ice to reduce the orange juice amount. Food With disgusting and not worth over £80.00 I have been charged double and I will never ever go again. The way the owner charges it's like there is no tomorrow. I think is disgusting charging double and it's like there is no tomorrow.

Marco , the Italian owner / manager was so welcoming and professional . I devoured a pancetta and rocket salad baguette . It reminded me of being at a festival in the Central South of Italy . Despite having tried most places in North London (including the more well known/currently fashionable) this local cafe still remains the best place for brunch! The food is so fresh and always absolutely delicious - fantastic veggie options (only let down by the sausages) as well as the more traditional choices. But the staff absolutely make it - the manager could not be more helpful and he can’t do enough to ensure you have an enjoyable visit. Give this great little local a try - you won’t be disappointed!

From the moment I entered Lydia’s I was made to feel so welcome by the staff. The omelette was amazing as was the banana split and the latte. I will definitely come back and I highly recommend Lydia’s Brassiere for amazing food and friendly staff and top class service

We were a little taken aback at just how quiet the place was on a Friday night but despite this had an enjoyable evening. The food was really nice and the service good.

I was catching up with a friend who lived nearby and we decided to pop out for food rather than cook. Great choice! The location was perfect for a summer's evening as we were able to take in the sights and sounds of Crouch Hill at dusk. The service was prompt, friendly, welcoming and efficient. We decided to go for all three courses which was also a good move. We each started with the Greek Salad; lots of tomatoes, black and green olives plus plenty of feta cheese. The winning trick however was the pomegranate which set the plate off perfectly. I opted for the baked cod with mas and seasonal vegetables for main which is one of the most satisfying main meals I can remember paying for. (My friend had the Kofte which he seemed very pleased with.) So impressed were we that we decided on a desert; my Banoffee Pie was the perfect way to finish and fill my belly - although I did get food envy form his apple crumble and custard! In addition to the lovely food we also enjoyed great polite and friendly service. Whilst it was a little pricey at just less than £80 it was worth it. A really pleasurable dining experience. We shall return!

I ordered a vegetarian breakfast - it was mainly ok albeit lukewarm and the egg quite simply should not have been served. Other tables were complimentary about their food but with so many options in Crouch End I will try elsewhere next time.

I had a Mediterranian breakfast which as I’m sure you can see didn’t come with what the menu had promised. When I told the waiter that I would like the other half of my mushroom he claimed that was the portion size. I asked to see the manager who then told me that was the serving size. When I then pointed out to him that the menu said hash browns (I only got one) and cherry tomatoes he had the audacity to tell me I had two tomatoes because it was cut in half! After a small exchange (where he bullishly defended the portion sizes inspite of the menu) he did indeed cook me another half mushroom, another hash brown and 2 more whole cherry tomatoes! As I am not someone to normally complain and felt quite awkward, so when I finished I brought my plate in as a gesture of thanks and went to pay. When I went to pay he then went on a defence of the original portion size and that he had given me extra. Following that I politely declined to pay the service charge. That was when to mood went from awkward to prison-like! I paid and was told I wans’t welcome back (which was fine) and then when I went to take a picture of the menu for this review, he took the menu away from me so quicky it actually hit another customer! The food was average - I really wouldn’t reccommend because even without the controversy I wouldn’t have returned anyway. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

We were very pleased on our first visit to this restaurant. The quality of the food is really good and all three courses were to a high standard. Reasonably priced wine, also really good quality. The lovely staff were helpful and attentive. Note that there is a 12.5% service charge added to the bill. Allow about £110 for three courses for two people and a bottle of wine. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.

We often come here for brunch at the weekend. I was surprised to read such a variety of reviews here. We visited recently, and they have plenty of tables outside on the street, as well as a small garden, which was a lovely place to sit during the recent spell of hot weather. There are a variety of dishes on the menu - I guess you'd call them mostly mediterranean - Greek/Tukish/Israeli influenced dishes, as well as the traditional full English breakfast - but there's always something I fancy. The staff have always been very friendly, and service is usually good. I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

It was a nice French inspired brasserie with some hits from Europe ! All dishes were executed at high standards with prime ingredients. It has now lost its soul. It 'a serving a host of cafe food from France, Turkey and England. The recepies are bizarre: mussels chowder = steamed mussels dumped in double cream, hamburger= patty with parsley leaves. Chips=skin on wedges warmed up from the day before. Service is down to greasy cafe style from restaurant.

It's not easy to find a decent vegan fry up that combines value and taste, but this is one of the best vegan fry ups I've had in England! The portion size was very generous, the plate was filled with food. Everything was delicious and warm, included garlic spinach (which was delicious and flavourful, my favourite part of the meal), toast drizzled in olive oil (love that it did not come bare/dry just because we couldn't have butter), hash browns, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans, tofu, vegan sausages, etc. The chai latte could also be made vegan (I had mine w/ oat milk) and was delicious, nice portion. The staff was so attentive, very friendly. This will def be my breakfast go to! Thank you for giving the vegan fry up as much attention, thought and effort as you do regular fry ups.

Where to park is often the first question when eating out. Easy by Lydia's, I only went down this road to turn around and notice the restaurant on the corner. We said, looks good. Let's give it a try. I am so glad we did....

Arranged this place as a rendezvous with a friend. Ordered a halloumi salad and a cup of tea. On arrival lettuce etc had that tired,transparent look that does not inspire confidence. The halloumi was leathery and undercooked, it had obviously been reheated badly. Altogether not...

I visited this Café for breakfast yesterday. I ordered scrambled eggs with salmon on toast and a cup of tea. The food was horrid! Stale bread, salmon that had brown/black parts on it, which showed it was going off. The eggs were a strange colour...

Not the best lunch for a Sunday in Crouch End. Booked via Meerkat app as 2 for 1, and when arrived was told they didn’t apply the voucher or deal from them because they cancel the aggreement. Apparently the Manager cancel the deal with them....

No estoy seguro de si los propietarios han cambiado desde este lugar (anteriormente The Blue Legume y luego Montmartre), pero mi experiencia ha disminuido. Esto está respaldado por el hecho de que estaba bastante vacío el sábado cuando otros cafés de EC estaban ocupados, el servicio era irregular, lo digo porque era agradable, pero entre 3 empleados no parecían saber quién debería hacer qué. Pasaron un tiempo limpiando las mesas (que no me estaban esperando) y me dejaron sentado por mucho tiempo sin que apareciera que estaba listo para ordenar. La comida estaba realmente bien, solo la ensalada fue decepcionante, ¿un aderezo embotellado quizás? Pero no se sentía amado, las flores de las mesas se estaban muriendo y el agua se veía sucia. El inodoro también estaba sucio, el piso parecía sin lavar y, en general, todo un poco sucio, que es pobre.

Fantastic start to the day with a lovely Eggs Benadict. Service is great too. The breakfast menu offers lots of choice and all look great. Busy place which is always a good sign. Nice coffee on offer too.

This is a well placed cafe,nice shady tables outside and a pleasant interior. However the food and delivery of , leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered a mushroom au gratin dish which was OK, but had no garnish or offer of bread with it. I had to request bread,which came toasted,not fresh. The Mille feuille I asked for as a sweet came smothered in a sickly chocolate sauce which was unpleasant and not requested. So much potential, but so far not delivered.

We went for an early dinner before attending a music event at Islington assembly rooms just opposite the restaurant. The food is an eclectic mix of French, Greek, Italian. Both our meals were very tasty, and it's a relatively small and intimate place. The staff were all very friendly and in fact the only slight let down is that a service charge is automatically added to the bill. We enjoyed our visit and would have tipped anyway, but I dislike the practice of automatically adding it. It's much less personal and there is no guarantee, whatever is stated on the menu, that the staff do see it.

Try the French Toast with plum compote and ask for bacon - wonderful! You can compose your own breakfast, so we did. Lovely.

Blue legumbre nunca decepciona. Tiene que ser uno de mis favoritos restaurantes en Londres. El servicio siempre es fantástico, con personal amable, dispuesto a ayudar y ve el personal adicional de milla. La comida es deliciosa, la última vez que visité tenía el costillar de cordero, que era muy sabroso y tierno. Anteriormente, he tenido la mayoría de su risotto de limón y el lenguado, que también están siempre delicioso. Mantendremos en volver!

We came for supper and had a great time. Super service and great value food, and the wine is excellent. Lovely little touches like complimentary olives on arrival and tap water being constantly replenished by the very attentive waiter. We will be back!

Returned here as convenient place to meet up with friend for coffee. Good customer service and quiet enough to chat. Not a lap-top or mobile phone in site! Nice choice of cakes. Like it here.

I've eaten here and it was ok, a fairly ordinary melanzane. What I did not expect this afternoon, when I went in to suggest to the member of staff behind the bar that some salt should be put on the treacherous patch of icy pavement outside their back gate (due presumably to a bucket of water having been thrown out of the back door) was to be met with a level of uncaring rudeness as well as indifference to the possible risk to passers by. What an unpleasant person to be working as a waiter. Won't be eating here again.

La comida estaba bien, pero el servicio era muy lento y el tiempo de espera demasiado largo. Llegamos y nos sentamos a las 16:10, ordenados en 16:20 (hamburguesas y tostadas) y esperamos hasta 25 minutos a que llegara nuestra comida (16:45) - a pesar de que el restaurante estaba casi vacío!

Have had a good breakfast here before so tried again! Sat outside on a warm morning with the dogs. Service was a little slow but they were busy. Great breakfast menu full of healthy options too! Good sized portions and well presented. Granola was superb but there again so was the vegetarian breakfast and the eggs benedict...... My only complaint is that the coffee could have been a bit hotter.

Usually weekends I like to find some nice places to have a breakfast, the place is small and cosy, the service in pretty good. The breakfast was good, essentially the breakfast menu is wide but is always around similar things, I missed some really different options, I had the Mediterranean one and It was what I expected. I think this place do not need to change too much to be very good in this aspect.

Busy and bustling but with attentive staff. Really lovely food served beautifully piping hot and cooked exactly to order (and I'm very fussy!). Nice vibes.

I really like this place. It's pretty local to us and a great place for a glass of wine and some meze. It's off the main road so nice to to sit outside in the sun. In the evening it's cute and candle-lit. The brunch salads are nice, the dinner menu is good, and the staff are nice.

I took myself out for my birthday brunch at the Crouch End branch and it was lovely. I'm very picky when it comes to Eggs Benedict as I can't stand runny eggs, but they cooked them to perfection! Just hard enough without the yolks becoming chalky. I ordered hash browns on the side which were initially forgotten about, but were brought out quickly with an apology once I let them know. All the staff were great, really helpful and friendly. I will definitely come back here! On a side note, the Islington location is great as well :)

Often very busy, which is a testament to the tasty food and the friendly, efficient service. I probably come here once a fortnight for a late breakfast - the eggs royale is delicious! Great smoothies and vegans are well catered for with a big breakfast and very good vegan hot chocolate. Reasonably priced and a great family atmosphere.

The service is excellent, the food is very good, and the interior pleasant. The Crouch End branch has nice outdoor seating facing a grand old church. I do think they could use better tea bags though.

We enjoyed a late Sunday lunch here recently. The staff were lovely - helpful without being intrusive - and the extensive menu really challenged us to make a choice. Happily, once we had, the food was delicious, well cooked with generous portions. Just what we needed on a rainy February Sunday.This branch of The Blue Legume is one of four in a small local chain and it clearly does well against strong local competition. It's amazing value too.Highly recommended!

It always surprises me how difficult it is to get a decent brunch in Crouch End, which is obviously full of people who want to eat pretend meals like brunch. Blue Legume is the best place, in my opinion. Decent service, nice food, fairly priced. It's not perfect, but it is pretty good.

I used to love this place, food is nice and also the shakes.Previous staff were nice and helpful, now they are rude and look depressed, bit welcoming at all, they make you feel like you're not welcome so I now go elsewhere. Shame.

This is a great place. The menu is really good and it's great value for money. The staff goes out of their way to serve you and they are super polite. Good food at a low price with excellent service. What else can you ask for?

Visited Crouch End and thought the Blue Legume looked suitable for a quick lunch. Sat outside in late autumn sunshine. I had a steak sandwich which was much larger than I had expected and it came with chips and some salad. The others all had egg based meals and no-one was disappointed. Service not great and had to search for someone to pay. No complaints and could go again but no reason to rush back, especially if we had to sit inside which looked a bit cramped and crowded.

Six of us went here for breakfast. Very busy so good thing we booked. Lovely choices on menu to suit all tastes. Good sized portions. We all had different things and nothing disappointed us. Servive was ok but it was busy!

Disappointing - a tepid beefburger but service already so slow and I was hungry so I ate it. Nowhere near as good as last time I had one there - they are clearly now using sponge instead of meat. Wedges ok-ish. Tea at £2.90 stewing in a tiny pot. Not nice and I won't be going back

We had the Cumberland breakfast and it was very tasty. The service was great too, If the portions were bigger I could have given a higher rating but be aware you only get ONE rasher, sausage, egg etc Some of the tables are also very close so it's hard not to over hear conversations.

Visiting from Yorkshire. This was my second visit and definitely won't be the last. I had breakfast with my daughter and it was delicious. My daughter had eggs florentine and I had eggs royale. The eggs were just right with a runny but not watery yolk and the hollandaise sauce was perfect, fluffy and light tasty and not too rich - we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were polite and pleasant and we were served very quickly.

One of my favourite places to eat - and I am fussy about quality. Our party of five visited recently and picked out different dishes - all exceptionally tasty food and good value - especially if you use a Taste ard discount! I'd happily go back every day as I'm sure everything on the menu is fantastic. It's a shame the restaurant is so small or I would book the place for bigger group dinners etc. One tip, make sure you check your bill before leaving as I think I might have been overcharged (but my fault, as I didn't check). All in all, so glad to have found this gem of a restaurant and I will return.

Had a great cup of coffee here and the food looked delicious! Ambience very good even though on the main road. Service was friendly and efficient with no pressure to hurry one's coffee!

You don't think cafes could get simple food wrong. But they can. My friend and I both ordered the steak sandwich and fries. The fries were over-cooked, few in number and too many of the few were solid and crispy, and not in a nice way.The ciabatta fell to pieces as we tried to eat, and the steak was tough as hell. In the end we gave up, dismantled the sandwich and tried just cutting the steak.At the end of the meal the waiting staff asked how the meal was, I said the steak wasn't so good. She glared at me, and didn't say a word, not even to find out what needed improving for the next customer.

I have been eating at The Blue Legume since it opened several years ago. There are many fine brunch places to eat in Crouch End but I have yet to find any that match up to The Blue Legume's extensive menu selection. Here you can find a range of breakfast options to suits all palates. Their main courses, especially any meal including their salads, are also excellent. I also love their range of teas - vanilla tea is a firm favourite. Service can sometimes be a little scatty especially at busy times, but the staff are always pleasant. The general atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. Situated opposite the legendary The Church recording studios it can also prove an interesting spot for people-watching.

Great place to go for brunch. Just make sure you go early or book a table as it's a very popular place with the locals as well as Londoners outside of N8. Mediterranean styled dishes along with the standard brunch meals. A great way to start a Sunday!

An end of week dinner with my wife and mother in law.We looked for a local interesting restaurant that we had not visited before and picked The Blue Legume by chance,the menu looked very interesting.We were glad to have booked as although one or 2 tables were empty,it was busy and buzzy.Welcoming staff,great relaxed atmosphere.A Mediterranean menu with lots of choices.French,Spanish,Italian or Greek a great selection of starters and mains,the Spanish cheese board to share--as a starter was brilliant and I followed this with a hearty Chicken breast and white bean cassoulet,not heavy but just right.moussaka and moules mariner was for the others.Banoffi pudding for dessert.Service was attentive,efficient and friendly.A light and airy room with a holiday feel.A very reasonably priced meal,very much enjoyed.a return visit to sample other delights on the menu is looked forward to.,

I live just round the corner, and so I've had more than a few opportunities to sample this cafe. The food is very good, and the service is generally excellent (it bends a bit when they're madly busy at weekend lunchtimes). They do a great breakfast deal for Mon.-Weds. mornings, but the quality of food is extraordinarily consistent (and good). The Mediterranean breakfast and the various Eggs Benedit/Florentine/Royale are all excellent.

Friendly, efficient service. Rustic decor and pleasant atmosphere. Excellent Moules Mariniere, large mussels and good flavour with fresh parsley and spring onions, nice not too creamy sauce. Pea and mint risotto with scallops and pancetta also excellent. Scallops cooked to perfection. Melted in the mouth. Could do with a wider range of soft drinks such as Fevertree to go with such good mains. Food displayed in cabinet did not look appetising. Good coffee.

I had lunch here on the day I arrived. It is only a short distance from the main road in Crouch End and well worth the walk. I had a panini and coffee. Both were fantastic!!

I had previously eaten at The Blue Legume in Stoke Newington so was pleasantly surprised to see another in Crouch Hill. Same rustic charms and friendly service. The portions of food are very generous and very flavoursome.

Nous nous sommes régalés sur les entrées et plats. Nous avions été prévenus, c'était copieux, nous n'avons pas pris de dessert. Le risotto "Pea & Mint" est décidément très très bon. Nous essaierons la prochaine fois la formule paella + vin à 16 livres, mais ne se fait que du lundi au mercredi.

Found this place on Tastecard. Wasn't expecting much as the photos made it look like a run of the mill cafe, but it was amazing. The food was fantastic (and incredible value with taste card) and the staff were incredibly pleasant and really charming. Would definitely recommend. Great window seats looking out onto the church - really quaint spot with great food.

Lovely to discover this place in Muswell Hill. Lovely rustic atmosphere and very friendly and efficient service. Particularly liked the menu choices - the lunch special was excellent value. The food was tasty, well-cooked and nicely presented. Very generous portions too. I was there with an elderly friend and we needed somewhere cosy yet spacious where we could chat without loud music or clatter. It fitted the bill perfectly!

스파게티와 리조또만 먹어 본 곳이라 다른 음식은 모르겠으나 아스파라거스가 들어간 채식 리조또가 맛있는 곳이었다. 런던의 주거지 쪽에서 많이 볼 수 있는 레스토랑이다.

I went today for brunch. Yummy mushrooms on toast with cappuccino The staff are efficient & friendly. Good choice of menu & reasonably priced.Today I was on my own but have been before with friends. Highly recommended

I took an elderly friend to lunch here today for her birthday. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service, which was friendly and excellent.The portions were huge and the food fresh. At the end the waiter brought out a plate of delicious icecream with a candle in it to the strains of Happy Birthday, which made my friend's day. Thank you very much.

Popped in to the Crouch Hill branch for coffee but was seduced by the vegetarian bake displayed next to the cakes. It was served with four different salads, everything was delicious, including the couscous salad (and I don't even like couscous) The friendly service enhanced the meal more than I can say. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely food and astonishingly good value - thank you for an amazing experience.

Saturday night we used our recently acquired taste card which gave 50 percent off the food menu - real quality food, mussels to start and rib eye steak - very tasty and cooked to perfection. Service with a smile as well !! Was not busy at all for a Saturday night which was surprising - will definitely be back.

I went to the Stoke Newington branch - the food was delicious and beautifully presented, staff were friendly, and portion sizes were generous. I can't wait to go back!

I visited here with some friends this month and I must say that this was the best breakfast I have ever had. I ordered the hash brown breakfast and when it arrived I couldn't believe the size of portion is was given. The scrambled eggs were some of the best I have ever eaten and I can safely say that the mushrooms were the best I have ever eaten. The staff were extremely accommodating and super friendly.

Dit restaurant zit op diverse plekken in london wij zijn geweest bij Mushwell Hill. Uitstekende bediening. Vriendelijk personeel. Eten is goed en eerlijk klaar gemaakt. Advies was perfect een plek om vaker te eten.
