Great little pub we stumbled across on our hike on Saturday, dog friendly, great food and lovely welcoming staff. Will definitely be back the burger was to die for

Lovely pub on the Viking Way. I have been several times. Great food.

Had overbooked so after getting settled at our table we were asked to move, we were waiting 25 mins to place our orders, but my partner was given a free drink to compensate, it is unusual for this to happen and it certainly won't put us going in the future, as the service and food is usually very good

We had completed a nearby AllTrails dog walk in the surrounding area and popped in for a bite to eat. The staff were very friendly informing us they allow dogs inside and offered to extend the food serving time to accommodate us as we arrived on the cusp of the kitchen closing. The food arrived promptly and was delicious with very generous serving sizes. We opted for the burger and the beef and Stilton pie, would definitely recommend. Overall, a very positive experience, we will definitely visit again.

lovely little pub warm welcome when we arrived although felt slightly rushed as lady behind bar wanting our order pretty quickly said they were busy they had about 4 tables in had our drinks brought over and asked to go to table so did feel rushed as soon as sat down starters were there all very good main was superb as were deserts all in all very good but did feel we were rushed but would return

First time visitors to the area and were recommended Blue Bell in Belchford. Very quaint traditional and looks unassuming from outside. However the menu was really interesting and quality of home cooked food was first class. We had local version sausages and home made fish pie, absolutely on the money. Also the prices were surprisingly good for the quality of food. Would certainly recommend it is worth a detour. A tradional Wold pub that serves top food.

A few people have recommended 'The Bluebell Inn,' and we can see why.. It is a really cosy classic country pub! We were instantly made to feel welcome by the people working there and the other customers! There was a really good selection on the menu, including vegetarian options.. We each had a starter and main! I had the camembert to start with Ciabatta, which was well seasoned, and the truffle was the perfect finish! For the main, I had bavette steak with whisky cream sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and Brocolli.. I am very fussy about my steak as we keep cows! I can honestly say this was a great cut, which was cooked to absolute perfection.. Still nice and bloody! One of our party had and would recommend the squid to start and fish pie main.. I can definitely see us going back in the very near future!

We just had a curry meal each and two lovely pints of Landlord beer. The lady behind the bar was really quite engaging and made you feel welcome.

A lovely little country pub and restaurant, took the family for a meal and all impressed with the food. Mark down as the shrimp starter was very strong and maybe not as described, service was good but maybe little slow, will be going back A*

Nice old world pub can be little cramped at times, food in general good, little disappointed with deserts this time,service little hit an miss, we keep going back so can't be that bad.

We have been before ( see below ). We dropped in on our way home tonight from Yorkshire. They fitted us in without any issue, even though we had not booked, but normally they are very busy. As last time, the meals were excellent, and portion sizes good for the price charged. Everyone was very polite and helpful with no attempt to rush us - very relaxing. If it is still on the menu, it was "A special" tonight, the bravette steak with Dauphinoise, tenderstem brocoli and sauce was an absolute delight and highly recommended. Clearly quality meat in the first place, and cooked to perfection. Fantastic flavour, succulent and "melt in the mouth" quality. We do not often pass that way, but when we do we will definitely go again. Very nice place with a good selection on the menu even though they are now into winter. Service maybe a little slow, but pleasant staff. All of the meals were very nice and well presented with a good portion size. My only reservation is that chips are smothered in salt ( which I intensely dislike the taste of ) whether or not one wants it and without prior warning, which in these times of health worries about people's salt intake is surprising, but we will definitely return.

Very accommodating considering they were short handed and busy last minute. Excellent roast and memorable dessert. One of Lincs finest!

We had a meal for 4 last night, very tasty food all home cooked, nice to have veg cooked how I like them, with a little bit of bite. All fresh veg too. Great staff, lively atmosphere, will definitely go again, highly recommended

Lovely cosy pub in beautiful Lincolnshire village - food and service superb. We always come here when visiting Lincs. We decided to share the asparagus with parmeson shavings and poached egg to start, which was lovely. I was interested in the vegetarian options for my main course and was torn between the cheese souffle and the nut roast - plumped for the nut roast which was delicious. My wife had the roast beef sandwich which she loved. Good portion sizes - everything lovely.

Highly recommended, we stopped here for a bite to eat mid cycle ride. Hadn't booked but they were very accommodating and helpful. Great food, antipasto starter followed by Steak and Ale pie. Sitting out the front we had a great view of the village and the quiet road.

First visit, and then a 2nd within a week! Sunday lunch first and regular menu later in the week. All the food was terrific - main courses piping hot, well cooked and really tasty. Desserts were gorgeous too. Portion size? You certainly won't be leaving hungry! Everyone very friendly and helpful, service was excellent and very prompt. Lovely bar area with arm chairs for that extended, relaxing drink & chat. Definitely worthy of a trip. Looking forward to returning very soon.

Went here for a lunch with the family. There is plenty of car parking around the rear of the pub. On arrival staff were welcoming and we enjoyed chatting before being seated. There was plenty of choice on the menu. I ordered the crispy pork belly and it was the best I've ever had. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we look forward to visiting again.

Lovely pub but not very welcoming ...arrived at 6pm no one around no soft music very quiet. Food was ok but we didn't stay long as it was very cold in there needed a coat on

Three of us (plus dog) had a really good lunch here. I had strips of beef, mushrooms, chips and aoli, my friends had burger and pork belly. All of us enjoyed our meals. The Tribute IPA was excellent too. Nice little village for a pre- or post-lunch stroll.

Been coming to this pub since before my mother gave birth to me. As a toddler I could fit inside the big blue bell before they hung it up outside the pub. Decades later, it still has an open log fire, sunny beer garden and friendly service, but has now become locally famous (and justifiably so) for its excellent menu and real ales. Beef bavette is brilliant. Scotch egg with black pudding in it is too. Actually everything is.

Lovely old pub with good food. The steak pie with stilton and veg was lovely. The bavette steak was also lovely but it only had a few mushrooms in a sauce and chips and a small pot of aïoli sauce. I think a few french green beans would have made this dish perfect as it lacked something.

As always the food here was excellent. Portions are very generous and the children's serving are definitely teenage size rather than little tots. The customer service was spot on and we were well looked after. The price was reasonable circa £15 per head with a main and a drink. Will definitely go back.

Popped in for lunch. It's a nice pub we had steak, pie and some kids meals. The pie and kids meals were tasty and well done, the steak was not rare but still tasty. Car park is tucked behind. Right on the viking way so easy to do a walk from here before or after your meal.

Great food, lovely, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and dog friendly - what more do you need? Those who don't want to dine with dogs needn't worry: they have a separate dining room dedicated to two legged diners whilst the bar area has seating and dining for people with dogs - so everyone is happy. They also have a nice, enclosed beer garden which is great when the weather is fine. The Blue Bell is a real gem nestled in the Lincolnshire Wolds. They are very popular so if you plan on dining, book if you can, though they will always endeavour to accommodate everyone.

2nd visit here and would definitely recommend. If you want to sit in a pub that’s homely, log fire, great staff, lovely food and reasonably priced, this is the place for you! Have always stayed longer than we planned and never feel rushed. Great find 😀

We turned up with two grandchildren at lunchtime on a weekday with prior booking. Despite this being inconvenient for them, a table was hurriedly made available. The food was excellent and the desserts sublime. The service was attentive and pleasant. Will go again when next in the area, but maybe book a table first. Thanks again for squeezing us in.

This pub was at the half way point of a long walk on a summer’s day, only to find it closed.. on a Saturday.. at 1pm..

I feel Aaron’s review 1 star review is rather harsh! The blue bell inn is a wonderful, welcoming country pub with friendly and extremely hard working staff. These staff who have worked their socks off since Covid deserve and need a break and a holiday. I’m sure the only way for such a small family run business to achieve this is to close for a short period. This closure has been advertised for months and is on the answer phone, maybe Aaron should of planned ahead to avoid his clear dissatisfaction

Even though it was only two minutes to the end of food, they still made every effort to meet my needs. The staff were lovely!

Had The Steak, Stilton and Guiness Pie with Veg and Chips, Roasted Veggie Pie with same sides and the Haddock and Chips and Mushy Peas for desserts, Sticky Toffee and White Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding with Ice cream all very nice tasty food and well presented. Friendly and good service well worth a visit if in the area.

Lovely cosy pub on our Roman/Viking walk of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Very friendly staff and amazing sandwiches. We had the Brie and Bacon as well the mushrooms and cheese one. Accompanied by at nice pint of Batemans ale. Ready for more walking!

Delightful country pub. Lovely welcome and great food. Steak, ale and Stilton pie delicious. Kids loved the gammon and eggs. Student son devoured the sausage and mash. Service attentive and timely. Great place to stop off on the way to the coast.

An excellent small village pub with an interesting menu, quality food, friendly and helpful staff. My wife had an excellent fish pie, I had lovely crispy Panko prawns and an unusually lean, superb belly pork. Recommended.
