We were staying next door at the Staybridge suites and we were recommended this pub by our black cab driver. Lovely atmosphere, great front of house team and could not fault the food, and prices were very reasonable. Only spoilt by the girl on the next table talking so loud we heard her whole conversation.

Thanks to Ida for excellent service last evening. During a busy period she served the four of us quickly, courteously and efficiently. The Saturday deal of three tapas dishes and a pint for £17 was good value.

Our American friends were staying in a hotel nearby so felt like a good meeting point, turns out it was great decision. Pub is real nice, homely and welcoming, staff were all smiles and couldn't do enough for us. However the star of this show is most certainly the food. We had 3 sharing tapas with bread and a pint for an incredible £17!! Looked as good as it tasted, beautiful calamari, meatballs and padron peppers. We also had the fish and chips which is probably the best ive had in london, I'd love to know how they make those chunky big chips, they were dreamy. Prices extremely reasonable considering the quality, will be back

Burgers were good, staff pleasant and location worth a visit. I like burgers a lot and so remember this place.

Lovely looking pub and nice atmosphere, but the food isn’t what it used to be a few years ago. Used to be amazing! Starters/ tapas weren’t very good at all (and small esp for the price). Two of the mains were good. Third really poor. Didn’t have a great experience in relation to the booking either. Bit of a shame as used to be one of my favourite pubs.

I want to say a huge thank you to Lily and all of the staff at The Black Dog for putting on an amazing Christmas party for my team. We had the entire space for the event and the whole thing was planned perfectly. The food, service, decor and the atmosphere were all perfect. Thanks again to the entire team! we will be booking again!

Warm place on the cold afternoon. Good fish and chips. Super friendly.

Got there at 7:30. Abruptly told kitchen closes “strictly at 8pm”. Sunday roast had all finished. It was very clear they wanted us out there asap and wanted to close the place. We had two bottles of wine at at 9:20 they came with plastic cups and said they had to take our wine glasses away. They then started putting chairs on the tables as we sat eating. At 9:30 they asked us to leave and closed the place. We had the tapas which was a miserable effort. Very expensive considering the low quality of the food.

Service is great, attentive friendly and quick. Unfortunately the food was average and overpriced. I think I paid £18 for a cauliflower steak roast. Really bland, not much taste, Yorkshire was soggy and the veg gravy seemed like 90% oil. If the highlight of a roast is the horseradish sauce something is wrong. However, a friend had the mushroom risotto which was delicious!

Was a cute pub experience, but a bit loud. We didn't have a booking and we sat in the garden, which was fine, but the heated would turn off every 30 seconds (it felt like) which made the whole experience a bit annoying. Food was quite good, and def elevated pub grub.

We went here whilst staying at Staybridge Suites less than a minute’s walk away. It was quite noisy but with lots of atmosphere. We had 6 or 7 tapas dishes which were very good. Jack our server was friendly and helpful.

Netter Pub, Fish an Chips gab es nur noch eine Portion. Chips waren nicht sehr lecker, hätten noch etwas in der Fritteuse gebraucht. Der Fisch selbst war ok. Das halbe Hähnchen war auch ok, vielleicht etwas scharf. Der Mini Caesar Salat war geschmacklich lecker, leider wurde der Strunk mit serviert. Bei den Damentoiletten war eine komplett zu, sodass nur noch eine zur Verfügung stand. Da das Pub recht voll war, kam es hier schon zu Stauungen. War ganz nett, nochmal muss ich jetzt nicht hingehen

Sehr durchwachsene Leistung. Interessantes Bierangebot mit allerlei aus der ganzen Welt wobei leider das Hausbier bei unserem Besuch nicht mehr vorrätig war. Nach der Essensbestellung dauert es eine Weile bis die Bedienung uns mitteilte das zwei Gerichte leider nicht mehr verfügbar sind. Zum Essen kann man sagen das die Pommes doch recht weich und matschig und nicht knusprig waren. Das T-Bone Steak war gut gebraten und lecker genauso das Hähnchen und der Burger. Der Fisch war knusprig mit leckerer Panade. Der kleine Caesarssalad war schön angerichtet und schmackhaft. Die Bedienung wirkte leider das ein oder andere mal tollpatschig und nicht ganz aufmerksam. Hier ist sicherlich das ein oder andere zu verbessern.

Visited while staying at Staybridge Suites just down the road. Our visit was mid-afternoon, and it was fairly quiet. Really nice pub, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Really nice craft beers, and our tapas were tasty and good value for money.

Nachos were okay once they arrived. 40 minutes after my friends nachos arrived (ordered at the same time). The only saving grace was the chefs, who seemingly agreed that their own waiting staff were rude, and validated us in our decision to go directly to them after our complaints were ignored by their front of house. We then received our food with extra cheese and trimmings - kudos to the chefs.

Had a delicious Sunday roast here last weekend, Kimon and team looked after us really well. We all had the beef which I would highly recommend, puddings were superb too. Thank you Lily for sorting our booking at late notice!

Hands down, the best fish and chips I've ever had! My husband and I had a delightful night out at the Black Dog on a Friday evening. The pub's decor was cozy and interesting with vintage ephemera. My husband had the fried chicken appetizer, and our server suggested the Manchego cheese with honey and rosemary (which I devoured...). The fish and chips were just perfect and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the summer greens risotto. Love Love Love!! Thank you Black Dog!

I used to claim this was the best Roast in all of London, mainly because of the Pork Belly. Not anymore. I took my partner as we’d been before and couldn’t wait to go back. Our experience was awful, here’s why. The head chef has changed and you can tell. First, the drinks took 30-minutes to arrive. Then, they forgot to bring out starter we ordered. Then, no pork belly on the menu anymore. Fine: got beef. The roast arrived, a thick cut of beef that was incredibly rare, hard to cut even with a steak knife. The additional veg arrived late (after we reminded them). No continuity in portions of roasties, beef, veg between mine and my partners plates. I found a hair in my food, they kindly brought a new plate, which had two small potatoes on, and a now over cooked slice of beef. The service was terrible, no checking if we wanted another drink, staff disinterested, very disappointing as it made our experience last time. Initially, they didn’t even bring a bill that broke down our order. They just brought over the card machine and expected us to pay it. Never seen that before. The bill was brought at full price to which I corrected them about saying they’d take the roast (with hair) and drinks off the bill. Overall awful experience and don’t reccomend it. There’s far better roasts for the same price in a nicer location. I asked if the head chef had changed and they said yes - explains a lot. Such a shame, their pork belly roast from previous chef was genuinely the best roast in all of London. Not anymore, not even on the menu. :(

Dropped in for lunch during a walk. Very nice menu - the grilled Caesar Salad with chicken was the bomb. Nice beverage selection, garden, indoor and street side seating, very accommodating service. A keeper.

The pub itself is cute, alcohol prices are decent. However, we were charged nearly £18 for fish and chips with ridiculously small portions of chips. When we complained, they did bring us extra chips, but it was disappointing to see the plate. The batter used on the cod wasn't the best and the bottom was overcooked. They have a really cute outdoor space in the back of the pub, there's a cheeky step there where all the customers tripped on, definitely needs a better warning sign as the "yellow" strip was on its last legs. Thought we found our new pub in the area but unfortunately the food was too disappointing. I hope they can fix their short comings in the kitchen.

Way different for an American pallet. The nachos over all are pretty good except that they added some sort of tomato sauce that was a cross between sweet spaghetti sauce and chili. The burger was tough and over cooked. As a pub it was a nice place to meet with friends and have a pint. The start was friendly.

Great little locals pub that served as a respite from the 'eclectic' odd menu at the Park Plaza Riverbank hotel. Just a short two block walk away to a real neighborhood away from the glitzy glamour of the hotel scene. Our waiter was super friendly and fun.

We were visiting from the US and our travel guide recommended this for dinner. We absolutely enjoyed our dinner and the waitress was amazing. Perfect off the beaten path pub with delicious food.

We were staying at the nearby Staybridge (also highly recommended) and came out for dinner one night - it was Saturday, so it was steak night. My husband got the steak with chimichurri and really enjoyed it. I had a burger and fries and they were also good. Beer selection was good. People were friendly and helpful, and service good. It felt more relaxed there than our visit to the Rose (a few blocks away). While the menu was small, it was enough for us. Seems to get a lot of local patrons. Overall a good experience and would return, particularly if at the Staybridge.

Except for the company my dinner was utterly horrible. I ordered Caesar salad and it was the worst I have ever had. The salad was room temperature, the pieces of romaine were huge so I had to use a knife and the dressing was soo bland. To be fair the other 3 people seemed to enjoy their meals. If you visit avoid the Caesar salad.

Very nice dinner pub next to the Staybridge Suites Hotel. Went twice, once for a drink and the other for dinner and a bottle of wine. Fair prices. Good people. Pleasant environment. Had the burgers. Undercooked (should have told them medium well) but good. Excellent thin fries.

Would not have found this pub by myself, but there is a lot to like. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, real ales and very good food, and even good music (that is not too loud). Very much recommended.

Absolutely terrible food and experience. No nut roasts left so we agreed to veggie burger patties instead. The patties were vegetable breadcrumb things that arrived soaked in watery gravy which gave them a weird texture and strange taste (we couldn't eat them). Our Yorkshire puddings...

As we were staying at the Staybridge Suites Hotel next door, it seemed rude not to eat local. I'm really glad we did.The pub has an excellent selection of beers and the ones I drank were very good. The food was equally good - probably one of the best pub burgers I have had in years, and my wife's cod & ramen noodles was tasty and hot. I know that we are in strange times and that (in week commencing 26th October) all pubs must have table service only, but that rule had been in place for at least a couple of weeks and therefore I was surprised that the table service was so hit and miss. When they were at our table the staff were excellent, but actually getting them there to order food, re-order drinks, or get the bill. When the bill came I was 50:50 on whether to reject the 12.5% service charge. In the end I paid it because the overall experience was still really good.

I am from the North and visited friends in London - on Sunday 12th September we visited this pub for Sunday lunch - it was, without doubt, one of the best roast dinners I have ever had! Yummie!

Lots of outside space to enjoy, next to a small park. The menu is a cut above normal pub food. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Tuve una sesión súper dominical en el Black Dog. Personal muy amable y atento. Maravillosa selección de comida. No elegimos el asado porque había muchas otras cosas que nos apetecían en el menú, pero vimos los de otras personas y se veían inmensos. Me encantó el risotto de espinacas y queso de cabra y mi esposo inhaló su primera hamburguesa adecuada en mucho tiempo con excelentes papas fritas. Disfruté del macabeo y un martini espresso también. Aseos y zona interior muy limpia, etc.
