Terrific pub food. Of the best I've had. And dog friendly. Win win situation. The Pie and the braised short ribs were ridiculously good.

Ate here twice as it was in easy walking distance of our caravan site. Always busy, bottles not all crammed together which is good. Dog friendly with space at the table area for our dogs to be comfortable. We had (on both visits) the scotch egg to start, freshly made, warm with tasty good quality sausage meat and an oozy soft egg - delicious. The Todenham beef and ale pie was warming and the beef melted in the mouth and the battered haddock tasted fresh and light. Really enjoyable food with friendly service. Would recommend

Perfect Pie every time. 🖤 The Black Bear in Moreton will always be no.1 in our books. Our boxer dog Hank is also well looked after with a couple of tasty treats.

Great for a casual meal sitting in the bar/ lounge area. Can get noisy when busy. Good service and excellent food. We had fish cakes in mustard sauce and steak and ale pie, both served with ample fresh veg and the best chips ever. Plenty of parking close by in the village

Although the restaurant wasn't open, we ate in the Bar. The Bar is really set up for those eating, with lots of tables well spread out. The service was very good as was the food - and it was all very reasonably priced. Warm and cosy pub on the high Street

We visited for Sunday lunch with family, everyone was very pleased with what they ordered. The pork belly roast was absolutely superb - flavours and quantities of food all perfectly balanced, with vegetables on the side, appealing to veg dodgers like my husband! I’m told the fish and chips was equally good. Service was also fantastic - really recommend this place!

Disappointed after all the great reviews. The beer was excellent but the food was barely average pub grub. The prawn starter was drowned in an over salted , rather strange sauce. The steak in the pies was a very lowly, fatty quality.

Great atmosphere and enjoyable food. We had a round table and the Black Bear was full of people enjoying their evening meal.

Excellent meal here at a very welcoming pub. We both had the beef ribs, one with mash one with chunky chips, it was delicious. Staff were attentive but not too in your face. Pub had a good busy vibe with a lovely welcoming fire. I would highly recommend if you are in the area. £50 for a meal for 2, 3 drinks and a pudding.
