This was our first visit for a Sunday lunch following a recommendation from friends. We had to book 2 weeks in advance which was a good sign and our expectations were high. These were surprisingly exceeded and we shall definitely be returning. All the staff were extremely friendly, hard working and attentive. The quality of the food was very high and plenty of it. We all had starters and struggled to finish our main courses. It has a lovely garden at the rear, where we chose to eat. It was very popular and considering it’s tucked away location, that says it all.

Just been to The Bell for lunch for the first time and what a pleasant surprise. It wasn't busy but we were welcomed warmly. It was a bit chilly so we sat inside, but they have a very large, lovely patio and garden perfect for relaxing in the summer. But the real surprise was the food. I must admit I didn't have too high hopes, but wow!!! Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Obviously homemade and meaty burger, crispy bacon and just the right amount of cheese. Served with amazing crispy, chunky chips and a nice salad. My friend had the scampi and chips and he said it was equally as good. Just one warning ... take your appetite with you because the portions are extremely generous.

We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday at the Bell with a large group of friends and family. Shawn, the chef, came up with an excellent menu with plenty of choice for everyone. On the day, the team at the pub did us proud. The food and the service were really superb (the portion sizes are huge and everything was served piping hot). The serving team were all so friendly, welcoming and really efficient and the room at the back of the pub was the perfect place for a group celebration.

We were on our way to relatives for dessert and coffee so we only had an hour or so to pop into this local find.We were welcomed by the owner who was very pleased to see two new faces. The Chef Sean introduced himself and offered us alternatives that were not on his extensive menu if we so desired. Especially as I’m a pescatarian. He was keen to please and was very enthusiastic too. The food was freshly cooked, home made, beautifully presented with plenty of it! Our starters were impressive. My husband had the Duck and Pork Pate served with toast and salad really very tasty. I had Smoked Salmon served with a salad, brown bread and butter ( this would be ideal for lunch another time) our main courses were huge I had a Mushroom Stroganoff was delicious and the best I’ve ever tasted. The Beef Burger was thick and very tasty served with all trimmings. The young lady who served us had only been there two days, she was efficient, friendly, and most of all professional. We were well looked after and will defiantly be back, next time for the evening or Sunday lunch with the family.Marilyn and Barry C

We have had numerous pub lunches during my visit, none can get close to our lunch here. First good sign, excellent cellar kept beer served by friendly, attentive staff. Next surpise, lovely large garden. The menu was difficult to choose from, pub favourites such as steak and kidney pudding, pie of the day, etc, all home made. I grew up in Shepperton and moved away over 20 years ago. When I was down visiting this weekend me and my partner were looking for somewhere different to eat when The Bell popped up on my Google search. Now I’m not going to lie, I was a bit sceptical as from what I could remember it was always a very small, old pub that not many people visited. After reading some reviews and realising it seemed to have had a bit of a refurb, I decided to give it a go and pay a visit. Well I am so glad we did. We arrived early Saturday evening and the bar was already very busy, we were still served fairly quickly and when asked if they were serving food advised they were and to take a seat in the restaurant and the chef would pop out and see us. We made our way through the bar to a lovely, spacious, quiet restaurant area and viewed the menu. The menu had a real variety and is all home cooked and freshly prepared. Sean the chef came out to see us and we asked what the pie of the day and the curry was. He was really friendly, and helpful and was happy to talk about the menu and how it was prepared. We opted for the pie (chicken & leek) and the ribeye steak, and we were not disappointed. Considering everything is freshly cooked the wait wasn’t too long at all. Portions were really generous, we couldn’t even finish it all but so, so delicious. So much so that we booked to go back for a roast on the Sunday and again we were not disappointed. Huge portions, perfectly cooked. I had the beef which was just a little pink as it should be and my partner had the pork belly, the crackling was done too perfection. I honestly have nothing negative to say about the place. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back in the summer.

We have friends who live in Shepperton just a few doors down from this modest little pub. The decor is typical old fashioned pub, with a dining room in the back with a more modern feel. It isn't fancy so the real surprise is the quality of the food. We went for steak night as our pals had raved about it. There are starters listed on a board, but we were warned by our server that the portions were large so opted to skip these and save room for dessert instead. One has the choice of several different cuts of meat simply accompanied by either jacket potato or thick cut fries and salad. Their is also the option of adding a half lobster (fresh) or sharing chateaubriand for two. We all opted for the chateaubriand and it was simply sensational. We were told that the chef has only been in residence for a couple of months and that he had spent some time in Argentina, the spiritual home of steak, and had picked up some tips......this was patently clear. The meat was tender and flavoursome, as good as any I have had anywhere. I would have preferred to have skinny frites instead of the thick cut fries, but that is a very minor quibble. Desserts are the usual suspects, sticky toffee pud ect....Service was warm and attentive so all in all a great Thursday evening out!

The new garden roon is a great addition - light and airy. The Staff were friendly and welcoming even though they were very busy - a particular thank you to Ange. And to the main event - the food. The starters were fresh and plentiful - the smoked salmon was delicious. 3 of our party ordered roast beef - and all with differing serving frequirements from pink to well done and this was achieved. The pork belly was also a success. Very good yorkshires and roast potatoes. My only slight quibble were the veg which could have been hotter and cooked for a feaction longer but this did not detract fron an excellent Sunday lunch. We will be going back and we will be trying the Thursday special! We went to the Bell for Sunday lunch based on the fact that friends had recommended it. Unfortunately our experience wasn't quite as positive purely based on a ridiculously long wait for our food.We were a group of 7 and it was busy but we had booked and it was 2pm so surely that was taken into account when the accepted our booking. We waited over an hour for 5 starters and once they were cleared a further 40 minutes for our mains. To add insult to injury it appeared that several tables near us (who seemed to be regulars as they were on first name terms with the staff) got the food a lot quicker, i.e. they ordered after us yet got their food first. Definitely not the way that it should work. The food was good though, good portions and very nice cuts of meat. But horrendously let down by the service times.

This pub serves the best food around, you can’t fault it. The portions are good and the service is always excellent. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of choice.
