Amazing food, very friendly staff. We ate Burgers and risotto and miso chicken, all were served and cooked deliciously;);)

Such a fantastic, well run and really friendly pub, Nathan and the team are all so helpful and hardworking. Beautiful setting by the river and such an atmospheric and historic building.

I have been going to the Bell and Crown since 2008 so I have seen a few changes but sadly the ones that they have now are not great. It is an average Sunday roast ( hardly any chicken in the chicken roast) and the meat was dry. no sauces or others were offered I had to ask for them) lovely people working there but the management needs to step ul and look after the people who have supported the bell and Crown for a long time as well as its new customers. I was really disappointed today plus they forgot it was my birthday and my husband had to remind them. ( they knew as they had been told in advance) We won't go there again.

Decent Sunday roast: beef cooked nicely rare, crispy roast potatoes, tasty gravy. Had to order at bar, took a while but was friendly enough service.

Had a lovely evening meal and the service was friendly and quick.. a fee drinks and we moved on. Good atmosphere and we easily got seats. Will call again soon hopefully.

It is located in a nice spot beside the river. The food was good, but we had asked the waitress to change one of the sides of a dish to something else, and the waitress didn't inform us of an extra charge. When the bill arrived, we noticed an extra charge. Spoke to the manager on shift all he could say was he was sorry and as the waitress was no longer on shift by the time we paid, he wasn't able to confirm if the waitress told us there was an additional charge or not. All in all, if you're going to eat and drink here, check your bill! I won't be coming back if the staff behave like this.

The Bell & Crown is one of the several riverside pubs in Chiswick, within walking distance from Kew Bridge. A great place for a meal, brunch or just for a drink.

I had never been here, but my husband had and so had friends so I was really looking forward to it, initially everything was good, it was very busy which I thought was a good sign, we got our drinks, wrong wine but that was remedied, the rosemary focaccia was rock hard and didn’t taste of anything much, and quite tricky getting the oil and balsamic to stick, however as we had to wait an hour for the rest of the food, it was the only thing we could eat. No one came to say we had been forgotten which we obviously had been, and when my husband asked our waitress, she made excuses like it’s December, which we knew and it’s busy which we also knew, but as I pointed out to her that several tables around us had been served and had come in after us, and an hour was a little excessive without anyone letting us know why, she got very defensive. The food came and I had ordered a starter and a side, the starter was awful a cheese pudding , it was cold, I don’t know if it was meant to be but it was like a bit of bread pudding with no cheese I could taste and no mushrooms which I think were meant to be there, the batata harra had been resurrected I would say at least twice and was also cold, sitting on the pass too long I suspect? The bill came and we were charged for the inedible food but when this was pointed out they did take them off the bill. I know a huge amount about the hospitality industry having worked as a chef in busy restaurants and front of house, I know what it’s like in a busy kitchen but was very disappointed with the food coming out of it, and sadly the waitress too, we are due to go back soon as some friends have invited us, can’t say we are looking forward to it much.

What a lovely experience we had. Booked a table of 8 for a Xmas work lunch. Booking, menu selection and payment pre arrival was so simple and easy. On arrival staff were so friendly and warm. Food was incredible, everyone’s orders were correct. Everyone enjoyed and despite not living in the area o will be back in future The best roast potatoes ever!!!

Beautiful setting, right on the river; and the dining part has been designed beautifully, the whole area lit up by the light reflecting off the water. The food is great and beautifully presented. However, the cherry on the top is the service. We were served by Eleni who, despite my father being his grumpy self, managed to do everything with a big smile. Thank you Eleni.

This place was buzzing. Great to see a local pub busy. Food was fantastic. Recommend Vietnamese chicken wings and their beef burger. And drinks not too high priced!! Great location by the river and a nice walk along the river if not foggy or high tide! Recommend this place!

We had a very lovely family dinner at bell & crown. Cosy and super friendly pub, with great food. The signature dish shoulder lamb was incredible and the chef made special potatoes mash for us. Daniel was the most accommodating and attentive server, thank you so much.

Fabulous, but of course weather makes the spot on the Thames, watching the boaters racing up and down the river. Busy spot on a Sunday afternoon but still prompt service with a smile. Nice to get a bench seat on river bank. I recommend this any day when sun is shining.

Excellent pub food, Sunday lunch is good too. Great choice of wines and beers, they even do Lucky Saint on tap . Highly recommended.

Honestly one of the nicest pubs I've been to. The Thames-side tables are a treat at sunset. The food is really good. I highly recommend the gnocchi.

Great place to eat gnocchi and fish and chips. Portions are generous, the atmosphere is buzzing with locals and walkers, with spectacular views of the Thames.

We stumbled upon this pub during a storm. The staff were really friendly and helpful when finding a table. There was a lovely seating area outside too.

Great team of staff here - everyone was so friendly, attentive and helpful. Daniel in particular took care of our table and he did such a great job! Friendly atmosphere with a lovely view of the river. The venue itself is full of character. The food was great - loved the chicken wings in particular. The sirloin steak was cooked exactly as requested so hats off to the chef! Thank you for a wonderful evening :)

Good vibes in the sun on a weeknight evening

Much improved excellent riverside dining and a great drinks selection. Well worth a visit. Visited again September 2022, very good. Go there! February 2023 update. The pub has gone from strength to greater strength as has the food on offer. Booking is recommended for weekends. The breakfast here is exceptional. Fresh, well sourced quality produce cooked to perfection and served efficiently with a smile. Even the coffee is worth coming back for. And, in these times of financial downturn, this is great value for money. I/we will be back. Treat yourselves!

Pub in general very nice and cozy Unfortunately my stars goes down because of the adequate food they serve to the price We ordered mezzo to share but not enough bread so unfortunately we had to leave most food on plate quite waste of money tbh Then in mains was what sounded delicious salad with Guinea and butternut squash but there again There was so much salad leaves only small four pieces of butternut squash and two tea spoonfuls of Guinea So called manager and he tried to tell us we received more then we should! Really? Why is that so the portion should be even smaller is that what you tried to tell us? For just under £16 to get leaves I am positive we could do better to get green leaves from co op for much less Also we ordered crispy squid which never arrived! Anyways it was massive disappointment to us and probably won’t visit again

Im having 2 shots of sambuca , 2 pints and the laidy whom serve me safely sais im intoxicated ??? I have eaten tip to the cheg in charge enjoying the nice wheather, all i get Is owefull answers from I believe is the youth management, I spend almost 60£ To be threatened and didmise form a fullers Pup never come backbin here , horrible service and makes you feel bad! Really bad design. No staff outdoor. Uncleaned tables. Stairs to get to the bar and get drinks. Staff are always in a hurry to serve fast to get tips.

A proper Sunday roast served here, washed down with a Fullers ale from the brewery down the road. Very friendly service - almost disturbingly friendly, like they had a grand plan to trap us in the oven and turn us into pies - and table service in the dining area, with views of the river. They seem to let people with dogs into the pub (I'm more in favour of just letting in the dogs) and I only found it funny the first 5 times I had to politely stop this one bloke's dog from leaping up onto our table and eating my lunch.

The Bell and Crown is a solid pub and you can always be sure of a warm welcome and quality food. The chef and staff are great. We had the Sunday roast - vegetarian nut roast for me and chicken for my partner. Both really good with plenty on the plate to ensure appetites are sated. This place is always a go to when we're in the area.

Better management during busy periods of the day - There isn't enough space to accommodate all bookings, which results in tables being placed in odd spots in the pub, such as near the patio door, blocking people's movement in and out. It's important not to try to squeeze people in or set up tables in places where customers won't be comfortable. Rude staff - It's essential to treat customers with respect. After asking for a table change, they claimed that there were no other available tables at the time, even though there were other empty reserved tables we could have used. Additionally, one of the waitresses showed unacceptably rude behavior when asked to fix a wobbly table. On the bright side, the pub manager (or whoever that guy was) was very friendly and we eventually changed tables. The food is okay, but nothing exceptional. It seems a bit overpriced for what you get, but overall, it's decent. I hope you'll take this feedback on board and consider making some improvements, especially since the pub is located in a lovely spot near Kew Bridge

Awesome pub with great food. The Korean chicken wings were just the right balance to go with beer or cider - not too spicy but enough Asian flavour. The Seared Owton’s dry-aged skirt steak was very good as well for an alternative steak. The cider there is always great. Fish and ships is descent, too. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere - I can definitely recommend!

Food is average but it is a fantastic location and setting for a pub! Family friendly as well.

Lovely roast beef dinner, with side of pigs in blankets on a Sunday. Nice big yorkshire pudding and horseradish served with it as well. Strawberry Eton Mess dessert was very tasty. Sat on the patio overlooking the river Thames.

Nice location by the river, good selection of drinks, good for carching up with friends and family or meeting point from your river walk or bike ride. By the bank you can sit and watch the river life and boats or a pub crawl from AIT onwards. Had the share Mezze and platters, family friendly ideal spot for a cool drink.

The first day we were there the outdoor seating was taken up by a very loud group swearing, smoking and out of control. It really ruined the atmosphere. A lovely place on the water. Unfortunately, the smokers and vapers damped our dinner visit.

Ein wunderbarer Ort an der Themse um einzukehren. Das Essen ist köstlich, das Lokal urig und der Platz an der Themse idyllisch. Unser bester Zufallsfund!

Die Lage ist phantastisch. Es ist ruhig, ein schmaler Fußweg führt am The Bell & Crown in Chiswick, London, England direkt an der Themse vorbei. Der Service war freundlich und flink. Das Essen stellte alle zufrieden, nur die Portion Gnocchi war etwas sparsam. Mein Fazit: Ohne Reservierung ist es schwierig einen Platz zu bekommen. Das Essen ist sehr gut, über Portionsgrößen läßt sich sicherlich trefflich streiten. Das Ambiente ist urig, die Lage an der Themse wundervoll. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Still the best Sunday roast. We had a pre match sunday lunch which was devine. The pub was very busy because of the match but they had lots of staff who were friendly, hard working and effective. The roast beef is so tender and tasty as were the roast potatoes and lush gravy. The bell and crown definitely do the best Sunday roast in the area.

Lovely pub, food delicious, enjoyed the wings, terrine, chicken and lentils, mussels and Creme brulee and brownie. Pretty setting in the conservatory area, and quick friendly service. Only reason not a 5* - women's toilets were disgustingly dirty and long waits as only 2 cubicles.

Nut roast was sublime. 100% recommend

Quite large pub with good selection of beers. Good view of the river. The food is pretty good and not too badly priced.

We tried to keep it as simple as possible ordering 3 fish and chips. We asked for one to have the chips on the side as those were meant to be for our daughter. The first server was really rude acting like he was doing us the greatest favour in the world. 5 minutes later, after he took our order, we saw him going outside with a beer, so clearly his problem was being in a rush as his shift was over... Anyway. We got two fish and chips with chips on the side (so the first server were clearly not even listening). The chips were actually fries... Whomever cooked the fish took too long to deep it into the oil, as one side (the first they put in the oil) of it was way more cooked than the rest, and the tip of the tail was left with almost no batter at all. The fish itself was decent, but overall overdone with (as mention above) one side completely inedible and stone rock. The oil was clearly not fresh, and the fish cooked not at the right temperature, as the initial crispiness disappeared after few biters to leave us with something soggy, and trust me, I'm not a slow eater. The tartare sauce was nice, but with the vegetables inside unevenly cut. The side of peas were decent but overly seasoned. It was busy for a Tuesday evening, but I'd expect better from a company who claim to be better than its rival from Green King, M&B or Brunning and Price.
