The Beacon Tree in Barking and Dagenham

AVOID THIS MISERABLE EXCUSE FOR A PUB. Went in for lunch which was basic pub fare (basically just microwaved food) and it took them an hour to prepare it. When it came out it was cold. The music is unbearably loud, the building is outdated and run down and the regulars are vulgar, disgusting and use a great deal of foul language despite the fact we had a young child with us. It has a very threatening and unpleasant atmosphere in general. This is not a family friendly place and customer service is non-existent. The only way it could be improved would be to burn it down. I would give 0 stars if possible. I can't stress enough how AWFUL this place is. Please avoid at all costs!

This is a very judgmental place as staff like to listen to you conversations and then talk about your business to other staff members and customers, , very clicky place avoid at all costs

I think the Beacon Tree is a great value traditional public house. It is a gathering place for the local community and welcomes all. I always go out of my way to visit when I am back in the country.

Where do I start been to this pub many times always have a great laugh. The beer is cold and the food is hot. The staff are very welcoming and efficient. Live music on a weekend pool tables and showing live sports. All round a solid boozer definitely the best in Dagenham.

I am a regular visitor to the beacon tree pub and have been going there for years and i just want to say that the service and the staff there are absolutely amazing and ever since Una the new Manager started working there she is the only manager\boss that i think has actually took pride in running the beacon tree for a long time and is so dedicated to everything she does.

The service was good but the food let it down.

The Beacon Tree has been my local for many years.The pub has always had a community feel to it although the staff are just as welcoming to passing trade as they are to regular customers. I have celebrated many a family birthday here and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They take the time to get to know you so that you feel more like an old friend than just a customer. There is entertainment most weekends and everybody is made welcome, from a song on the Karaoke to dancing to the music that the DJ is playing, there is something for everyone!! They also have a beer garden and smoking area with heaters in the winter!!! The Beacon Tree has always been a great pub but it has only improved since the new manager, Una has taken over. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. I would highly recommend it!

Popped in while visiting friends for a bite to eat. Food was hot and arrived quickly. Manager Una showed us some of the new desserts and we had Tia Maria sundae which was amazing!! Great night well worth a visit if in the area.

I went in for some lunch and a drink. Staff were pleasant and chatty, food was brought swiftly and to a great standard considering the cost. Brilliant for families on weekends, or a midweek dinner instead of a takeaway. There is a pool table and live sports too and plenty of people at peak times providing a great, local experience. They have recently had a change of management which seems to have picked the place up a lot.

This is a run down pub with a car park that resembles a wasteland. Wouldn't describe it as a restaurant. The eating area where there was no one else eating (a tell tale sign) looked dirty as so did the food as well as dry and small portions. Is it that difficult to cook rice without there being those dry clumps. Why would anyone present food like that?? Needed lunch while visiting the area on a busy Sunday. We were informed there would be 1/2 hour wait for food. In the event, it was nearer an hour, but it wasn't a problem for us (luckily) and the food was very acceptable for the price, with drinks very good value. Staff were doing their best at a very busy time, and I suspect the kitchen was understaffed. This isn't a posh pub, but completely OK for what it is.

There is a reason this pub is busy all the time, how many pubs do you know are busy on a Wednesday night? The drinks are reasonably pricedAnd the menu is superb, there are a lot of choices to be had and the portion sizes are great, we ate on a busy Saturday night and waited only 20 minutes for our meals. All the staff are friendly and interact well with the customers, I think this is a reflection of good managementWhat I think is also good is that the televisions with sky sports on are at one side of the pub and the rest of the bar and restaurant are on the other with the main entrance right in the middle of the pub with one u shaped bar serving the whole pub so the whole building feels homely and connected. Reasonable prices on drinks, great food, nice people, one of dagenham best kept secrets.

Really friendly pub! Guaranteed to show all the best sports games on the tv next to the bar, quiz nights on Sunday evenings, bingo on Monday daytime, DJ or singer on Saturday nights. The food is really nice and great value for money! Eg. Sizzling 8oz steak and chips for £4.79! Can't get better than that. Really nice staff and locals.
