Lovely little cafe right on the beachfront. Great value food served promptly by really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend the omelette, probably the best I have ever had.

Lovely food and fantastic service. Just what a lazy Saturday breakfast should be. If we were local we’d be back every weekend.

Food was good and served quickly Poor score relates to cleanliness and hygiene. The toilet was absolutely disgusting. I needed to change my baby and even with his own mat to put down I wouldn’t consider putting him in the changer. It’s only available to customers so there is no excuse at all for the state we found it in

After a stroll along the seafront, we popped in The Bandstand Cafe for some lunch. After some deliberation we both ended up having the Croque Monsieur (I had the goats cheese version), rather than standard sandwiches. They were both absolutely amazing! They were a generous portion and used fresh sourdough (I think) bread, along with a tasty side salad. It was absolutely to die for, and we will be returning to have it again in the future. I must also praise the waiter as he was super friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I went here just before lunchtime. It was mainly empty - one table with two people, two tables with benches to seat three people but with only two customers each. Two of the small tables were pushed together to allow for four people together. The other ten or so tables were empty, We headed for a four-seat table with two-seat benches on each side, only to be headed off aggressively (I felt) by a woman, maybe the manager, who told us we weren't allowed to sit there. Well, we're polite and peaceable people, so we chose a small two-seat table. The waitress brought a cutlery & sauces receptacle which occupied a third of the table, leaving little toom for two plates and two drinks. I therefore told her that we were going to sit at our original choice, and I ignored her complaints. If the cafe had been even half-full we would not have hogged four seats, but there was clearly no disruption to the business by taking these seats when so many were empty. When our food arrived, it was delivered by a stony-faced lanky over-loud child who practically dropped our meals on the table before huffing off without offering serviettes or cutlery. We enjoyed the food. The burger & chips, and my wife's toasted sandwich, were tasty. Unfortunately the good taste was marred by the hostile atmosphere emanating from the staff. I paid, and as we left I told them that I would leave them a review on Tripadvisor. The lanky child then followed us outside and harangued us for having the temerity to sit in an unapproved comfortable seat. Nice customer relations right to the end. I'm sure they'll be glad to hear that I'll never set foot in their establishment again. I look forward to their response about the dreadful customers they have to suffer. Perhaps they should remember the customer's motto: "I am profit; you are overhead".

As the title says, came here on a rainy day for a sandwich. Then was told to leave part way through eating and go outside in the rain. This was after asking specifically if dogs were welcome.

Situated under the Bandstand is this busy little gem of a place, plenty of seating mostly in the shade, excellent cup of coffee with very good service from the staff.

Stopped here for lunch. Plenty of tables in the shade and a place to people watch, small but good menu. Food was very good, my wife loved her fish and chips. Coffee was great too. Certainly worth the extra walk from the area near the pier.

Visited Brighton many times and not been here it's great. Lovely view great breakfast and service. Will definitely go back.

A gorgeous sunny day in January calls for a bit of al fresco lunching. This lovely wee place always hits the spot. I had a BLT and it was wonderful! Great staff - all very efficient and friendly. Highly recommended!

Sat outside and had coffee and cake with friends here yesterday. The poor waitress seemed a bit frazzled. The coffees were nice. Only one choice of gluten free cake - carrot - but it looked nice so I went for that. Well, I've never seen such a stingy slice of cake for £3.95. I mentioned it the waitress and she just said that it came pre-sliced like that and then dashed off. I haven't been here in ages and to be honest, there are probably better places to go for coffee and cake but the location and views are what make it.

Stopped for coffee and to rendezvous with others. Decided to extend our stay and chose from the excellent breakfast / brunch menu. Looks tiny but they obviously have a good kitchen in the basement! More seating outside if the weather permits.

Visited late afternoon for a coffee. Service very friendly and inviting. Coffee was good. Service quick and efficient. This is a lovely venue, below the band stand, for a coffee. A nice place to visit if you go for a walk along the prom.

I used to like this cafe but the prices have increased a lot. The only meal for vegans is falafel wrap with a salad garnish at an outrageous £9.50. The falafel themselves were tasteless.

Para 2 . 20!Sin embargo, el almuerzo de espárragos con huevos escalfados sobre masa madre era muy sabroso, ¡aunque un poco frío! El sándwich de tocino de mi compañero en la masa fermentada también fue una porción muy generosa y sabrosa.Los camareros son fabulosos. Habiendo dejado a nuestro hijo y esposa en Gatwick un domingo por la mañana, decidimos ir a Brighton a dar un paseo y desayunar. Estábamos buscando el café que habíamos hecho en una ocasión similar anterior pero no pudimos encontrarlo, tal vez No estaba abierto. Sin embargo, caminamos desde Haabour a Hove y pasamos por este establecimiento y cuando regresamos era bastante bueno, pero el menú del desayuno se veía bien ya un precio razonable, así que entramos. Lugar inusual con mucho francés. Conexión: personal extremadamente amable y eficiente: excelente comida y bebidas, todo a un buen precio.

One of many reviews that does not complain about quality of food nor drinks, because we never made to the point we could actually enjoy it.Waited for 15min for a waiter outside, so I went inside the restaurant and ordered at the bar. Was told 'we have table service' and you can order only at the bar if you want to have take away (really?).Waited another 10 min and gave up. I admit I was not the most polite customer but how can you manage so poorly such a nice place just next to the see by not being able to handle fee beers / steaks? The owner was super unpleasant

Visited on a sunny March Sunday morning for coffee and breakfast. Waited and chased for 20 minutes just to order a coffee by which time we’d given up on ever seeing a food order so we just stuck with the coffee. Had it not been pleasant sitting outside we would have left as it then took another 25 minutes for the coffee to come, 45 minutes from sitting down to getting a coffee isn’t great! Which when it did come it was ok. Some of those around us had already walked which was probably the sensible thing to do. To be fair the food that did come out to other tables did look good.

Paré aquí para el almuerzo después de un largo paseo por el baile de graduación. Hermoso día en octubre con vistas a la playa. Buen menú Pedimos nuestra comida. Tomó un tiempo, pero no me importa esperar por la comida fresca cocinada. Valió la pena la espera caliente fresca y hermosa. Mi esposa tenía la sopa pan recién tostado y muy caliente. Comí pollo con masa fermentada con aguacate, chutney de morrocan y ensalada. Estaba delicioso. Definitivamente lo recomendaría.

Fuimos a tomar un café, nos sentamos enfrente y empapamos el hermoso sol. Nuestro pedido fue tomado de inmediato. 15 minutos más tarde entré en busca de nuestro café y obtuve una respuesta maliciosa de nuestra camarera. Una pena porque cuando finalmente llegó el café fue bueno. Otros se fueron antes de que llegaran sus órdenes.

A mi esposo y a mí nos encantaba venir al quiosco de música regularmente. Sin embargo, desde que el caballero encantador que solía correrlo se ha ido (sonriente, caballero delgado) se ha vuelto muy rígido con un bastón bastante gruñón. Fuimos a tomar una copa el otro día y nos dijeron que no podíamos pedir en el bar, (esto es una nueva regla tonta) a pesar de que alguien está en el bar, tuvimos que tener servicio de mesa. Todo lo que queríamos era dos cervezas y dos coques. Luego nos sentamos afuera por 15 minutos esperando el servicio de mesa. Llamé a alguien dos veces, pero me dijeron que veníamos. . . . . nadie se acercó a nosotros. . . Entonces decidimos votar con nuestros pies y nos fuimos. Había dos personas esperando en las mesas: la señora era muy grosera, el joven estaba tratando, pero no parecía estar muy contento con el lugar. En el pasado escribí una excelente reseña para este lugar, pero lamentablemente, en mi última experiencia, ya no será uno de mis lugares favoritos para visitar. Muy complacido, hay muchos lugares nuevos y encantadores que se abren alrededor de la I 360, así que ahora hay algunas opciones más en el área, mi nuevo favorito es Flour Pot.

Stopped off here for a coffee and a snack when visiting friends in Brighton . Perfect Americano ! Probably the best in UK. They serve Carraro Italian coffee. Rich flavour and delicious aroma. Meal was tasty and a lovely carrot cake. The staff are lovely, attentive and welcoming. It's small inside but there are few tables outside as well and they offer takeaways too. Will have to go back!

I live locally and wondered along the beach with a friend this summer. Feeling a bit parched we popped in and ordered two pints of lime and soda water. When we went to the bar to pay the bill, the owner said £8.40. When we questioned the price he confirmed they were £4.20 each. We asked to see the menu and he said there isn't one. He then stated that our custom is pointless if we sit at his cafe at peak time, take up two seats and order two cheap drinks compared to if two people attended and ordered two high priced alcoholic beverages. Stupidly we paid it and left. He showed no shame and couldn't even look as in the eye as he shrugged his shoulders. Shame as its such a nice location.

Right on the seafront near the i360 and serves excellent food in an excellent location. Stopped here for some lunch and received excellent service with some excellent first class food, that kept us going.

For sure this Birdcage style Bandstand is one of nice place to visit with good view of seafront. It is well maintained and restored old architecture by the local authority.

If you are on the promenade in Brighton this is a nice place to stop off. There is some shelter there from the sun (and the rain) but not the wind! Used as a photo stop by some wedding photographers.

We came here for drinks on bank holiday weekend and really liked the place. It's a great do it for people watching and drinks prices are reasonable. We didn't eat but good going out looked good. The only annoying thing was there was only 1 toilet so it was a long wait!

We stopped here for a drink in the sun on the way to dinner , nice seating outside and we ordered two soda waters . When I asked for the bill the manager looked like he was working it out in his head and came up with £7.20 . When questioned about this he just said that's how much it is and wouldnt discuss it . In my view that's a rip-off . Avoid .

We only popped in for coffee but it was very good and we would have eaten here had it been later in the day. Outside it was very busy, but inside empty whcih suited us just fine as it was cool and quiet. Very friendly staff and quck service.

The actual bandstand above is a Victorian gem, and a local landmark, now licensed for weddings and civil partnerships. The enclosed restaurant below is really good for breakfasts, would heartily recommend the eggs benedict!

Descubrimos una pequeña cafetería bajo el quiosco casi por accidente, es fácil perderse, con el real quiosco encima así impresionante (y aparentemente es un lugar de la boda). Disfrutamos de nuestro desayuno tanto que volvimos de nuevo el mismo día para un almuerzo tardío. La comida muy buena, con buen servicio amable con una sonrisa. Aunque uno fuera de los turistas, nos hicieron sentir como clientes habituales. Sin duda volveremos.

A fantastically located bistro, right on the beach. Just look for the Victorian Bandstand, look underneath and you will find a small, compact restaurant. The food has a hint of North African & the Mediterranean is absolutely fantastic, plenty of choice, good value coupled with great service.

Desde entonces no la montaba unos cuantos años atrás, ha sido un lugar para muchas fotos y eventos se celebran aquí e incluso bodas. Estoy de visita en Brighton y Hove regularmente ya que tengo familia allí. Mi compañero decidió que era el lugar perfecto para proponerme el 12 de julio y fue perfecto. Ahora tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón y siempre lo serán. Debajo está un encantador bar cafetería que he comido en antes, es un entorno y una buena opción para el desayuno. Un buen lugar para parar mientras corta a lo largo del mar y Brighton y Hove realmente frente al mar es algo especial.

This attraction is a spectacular area to see on the seafront. Restored a few years ago this area is used for weddings and in the warmer months, you can see dancing taking place.

Stopped for Lunch here on Saturday, sat outside in the sunshine overlooking the sea. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient, the fish and chips and drinks were also very good quality and good value. The bandstand above was hosting a wedding, which was also great to experience.

Stopped for an impromptu breakfast here on a Friday morning and sat at an outside table overlooking the promenade on the seafront. They serve great coffee, fresh croissants and a range of gluten-free options. Service was courteous, prompt and attentive. Overall I thought it was good value too.

This was our favourite venue for lunch, great setting with views overlooking the sea. Food quality was excellent, delicious and great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

The food was quite nice and the seating reasonable. The location is right on the beach. The only small criticism I would have was when the menu says hot bread with your soup I was expecting a warmed or hot roll but instead received toast. Staff were friendly and efficient.

We ate here twice on Brighton marathon weekend and on both occasions enjoyed the basic but good honest food. The staff were polite and friendly and the location on the seafront in the sunshine was very pleasant.

The bandstand is situated along the promenade between Brighton & Hove. It is an iconic photo opportunity and the scene of many a wedding as well as bands playing. Beautifully renovated, the woodwork is often compared to a wedding cake.

Our hotel was immediately opposite the beautiful bandstand. At night it was lit up and would have looked absolutely glorious had it not been for the faulty lights. They flickered and fluttered but to no avail. Come on Brighton council get this beautiful structure shown to everyone at night in all her glory.

Today, we have just had the most delicious full English Breakfast on an impromptu walk on this glorious spring morning. The Bandstand Cafe/restaurant is literally right on the beach with spectacular views over the glistening sea and i360/West Pier structure beyond. It was our waiter's first day in the job and he was very efficient and friendly. The breakfast was top notch with good quality bacon, eggs and sausages with a large cup of tea in the warm morning sunshine - what could be better? We had finished our breakfast and was just enjoying a second cup of tea when a couple arrived with not one, not two but three dogs - now both we like dogs (not all) but well behaved dogs - luckily we were just sipping the last of our tea and would have stayed a little longer to take in the view if it weren't for the selfish dog owners with no situational awareness at all of other diners around them, letting their dogs, particularly an oversized poodle to roam around the tables barking and sniffing about. We thought that once they'd settled at their table (the owners) they would put their dogs on a lead - because some people do not like dogs or want dogs roaming around quite an enclosed railed area barking while you are eating or enjoying coffee. One of the diners resorted inside the cafe because these people had literally taken over the peace and tranquility by shouting over at their dogs to stop barking - but still not putting the larger dog on a lead. My advice to the owner of the Cafe, is to put a sign up for ALL dogs to be on a lead. My rating for 5 stars is for the great service, wonderful food and location - not taking into account the selfish people with the dogs who could've ruined our experience if we had arrived any later - in fact we would've gone somewhere else. Do not be put off because with any luck these people will not be there when you visit and hopefully the owner/manager of the cafe will put up a sign for either no dogs at all or dogs to be put on a lead.

The food here is simple but maybe too simple. Cheesy chips were basically browned to the point of burnt, with a tiny sprinkle of cheese and already salted and vinegared. We waited for ages to have our table cleared from the previous incumbent's meal and service was extremely slow. Shame - this could be a good spot with the right staffing and realistic menu.

We popped in here whilst we ,along with with 00s of others, were promenading enjoying the late December sunshine. The cafe was lovely and warm and our hosts welcoming. We ordered a double expresso and a skinny cappuccino and were both lovely and reasonably priced. Many other reviewers have commented on the building but what I can say is that the customer toilet was very clean .

We've enjoyed many great lunchtime snacks and drinks here over the past few years, with fabulous views over the sea to the iconic West Pier and beyond. Stopped here today and all our favourites have disappeared from the menu (croque monsieur/madame, deli boards etc). Compromised with grilled chicken and tomato flatbread and a portion of chips. The kitchen wasn't busy but whilst the flatbread was ok, there's really no excuse to serve pre-cooked and reheated oven chips. All accompanied by little flies pestering us, and we were sitting inside the cafe - nasty. I would have left without finishing but DH was hungry and we put up with it. I see the owners are awaiting a Food Hygiene rating .......

The bandstand is very beautiful.It is actually available to use for weddings and other celebrations and would be wonderful for pictures.

A lot of money (nearly £1 m) spent refurbishing this bandstand. It was in a very sorry state but now looks wonderful .Many wedding pics taken there. Great setting, great location. I think it looks marvellous and worth every penny spent doing it up.

Service was horrific - actually that's a lie, there was no service .... so it wasn't horrific it was non existent.. the coffee was bitter and cold as was the hot chocolate.We weren't shown to seats u serve yourself, after waiting 10 mins we went and ordered our own coffee and paid for it. Then we were approached and asked for our order.... very chaotic. gorgeous location so much potential, shame that can't be instilled into the staff !

We love just going over to the bandstand and looking at the view & artwork of the bandstand.Been with my husband 35 & married 30 - but this time at the bandstand he proposed again!!!! Thank you the lady who was there who took this photo :)

I regularly come to this cafe and always receive a warm welcome. :)A decent, basic menu with something for everyone. Omelettes,steak,breakfasts,fish and chips,burgers....When my family visited we had a full English breakfast, eggs Benedict, spinach omelette and halloumi Burger (which was yummy)Each meal was under or around £8 and all of us happy with our meals.The lager on tap is depressingly pricey at £5 for a pint of peroni...but to be able to sit in the sun with a nice cold beer, with some good background music,in a nice, relaxed environment... Watching Brighton go by... I don't mind paying that little bit extra.....sometimes..Keep up the good work :)

The Brighton Bandstand was the beautiful venue we chose for our wedding in August 2015 the 28th. We were extremely lucky to have good weather & we married here overlooking the west pier & out to sea. The bandstand was dressed by the approved company & it looked absolutely stunning & we had the most amazing day. You do take a risk when booking the bandstand as with any outside venue for your wedding, but we took the risk & have such happy memories of our wedding day. When you choose the bandstand you do have to obtain 2 marriage licenses in case of adverse weather & if the weather is unsuitable then you marry underneath in the Bandstand cafe.We have amazing photos from our day & we also returned in the evening for further photos. We believed it was worth the risk and would highly recommend the Bandstand as a wedding venue every time we drive past we remember our wedding.You have to check & book the bandstand availability before arranging your registrar.You don't really get a practice like in a church which did make me nervous, I was called the day before the wedding to ask any questions & also for the confirmation of the weather & that we would either marry under the Bandstand or below in the cafe. I met our registrar just prior to the wedding & they explained exactly what would happen & everything went as planned. The registrars take many weddings on theBandstand and made us both feel at ease.For us it was the perfect wedding venue & would highly recommend

Amazing views from the Band stand which has been beautifully restored and has events regularly throughout the summer. Has a cafe below at beach level.

Although we live close to Brighton we do not often get to the seafront, so we were pleasantly surprised to find the (we guess) recently renovated Birdcage Bandstand cafe bistro. The building is lovely both inside and out. Seating inside for i guess about 30 with plenty outside. The menu choice is extensive, coffee was great and prices were very reasonable. £2.30 for a latte for example. Service prompt and with a smile, what more could you want on a morning stroll along the prom.

We enjoyed Pilsner lagers and Rib Eye steaks here on a very hot afternoon . The venue was quite busy and yet service was fast and polite. Prices were very reasonable for Brighton seafront too. Portions were of a decent size for those with a good appetite and quality very good. There is a toilet available , classed as disabled but as there is only one then everyone has to use it. This is a good place to watch the world go by without feeling ripped off like some outlets. Very friendly staff round it off.

Or least a tasteful restoration of one! The delicate wrought iron work was lacelike against a blue summer sky and very prettily illumunated at night

The outside Patio had a lovely view of the sea & was totally accessible for my wheelchair. I had lunch mid-week, both food & the service were extremely good. There was plenty of choice & the meal for two of us with coffee came to just over £20, great value. I will go back again

I hired the venue to host my 50th birthday party on a Friday evening. The booking process was simple and I was given many choices around time and catering options. On the evening the staff were brilliant and took good care of my family and friends. The outside patio is super in the summer. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this venue for a private function. Excellent job. Thank you.

Had our lovely meal today, next to the sea enjoying it's amazing breeze. The food was extra ordinary in taste and service. The chef obviously is professional. The overall atmosphere was amazing. Thanks to "Mido" for such an excellent experience.

The magnificent structure known as the ‘birdcage’ Bandstand is a Grade II listed building of architectural and historical importance. It stands prominent on Brighton’s seafront and commands excellent views of the coast. It was designed by Phillip Lockwood and completed in 1884.Whenever I am in the UK, I often walk along the seafront between Brighton (Palace) Pier and Hove Lawns and admire its attractiveness.

Lovely traditional bandstand that we understand is still in use. Well maintained and it looked freshly painted.

We stopped here for a cup of tea. Was really sweet and the tea was lovely. Unfortunately the chocolate brownie was dry but my daughter loved her croissant!

a beautifully restored piece of architecture along the seafront. now used for weddings, dancing and bands. and fitting into an ever developing area with the new i360 going up just along from it. this is very pretty and worth a photo or two and a coffee near by.

Wonderfully fresh and tasty food. I had a blt and my husband had a ricotta and mushroom ciabatta. Very attentive service from a humorous waiter. Listening to the trouble other staff took with other visitors, every effort was made to accommodate them. Very reasonably priced. The food and 2 drinks at a prime seaside location was just over £13. Would definitely recommend on this very sunny day in September.

Great wedding venue, great location on the seafront. The cafe below is cute and a great location for a drink whilst exploring the seafront.

The food is excellent and a great breakfast. The coffee is great too. Very good and friendly service. The location couldn't be better. Highly recommended

A great location - this venue could be so much better.Arrived and was seated in outside in the glorious sunshine. Wasn't even acknowledged by the staff. Waited approx 20 minutes to be served and we had to instigate it. Waited a further 20 mins for drinks. We left!

A little gem here. It's pretty small but staff were very happy to help juggle tables and chairs around for me and my wheelchair user companion - really nice to go somewhere where there was no huffing and tutting about the inconvenience of having disabled customers. The food was a bit pricey, I initially thought, but turned out to be great value. Tasty and plenty of it - a chicken mayonnaise baguette was stuffed to the brim with chicken and salad, with a nice salad on the side for £6.50. And delicious coffee too. My friend had fish and chips which was really good. Will definitely return - heartily recommended.

We passed this please as it looked lovely, so we decided to pop in for a beverage, when I asked if I could get a hot water I was given a look of contempt and shrugged shoulders hence to say they didn't do water, felt intimidated and humiliated

This was the place in which my daughters wedding toke place very special to us great back drop cafe and beer below thank god for history and preservation

Nice foods! Fabulous coffe, i think the best in Brighton! Friendly staffs! Do not miss such a great place!

Came here for a cup of tea and cake in the afternoon, after a couple of mouthfuls realised the bottom of the cake was completely mouldy. This place is unsafe to eat in i would not recommend it to anyone. The staff didn't even seem suprised or apologetic when told!
