The Land lady and land lord, Lynne and John, at the Bakers Arms Pub offer exceptional and welcoming service. From the moment we walked in, their warm smiles and attentive approach made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy, and their genuine hospitality truly stood out. It's clear that they take pride in creating a welcoming environment for their patrons. We had a wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back to enjoy their great service and the delightful pub experience.

We stopped in on a Sunday, for a weekend away in Dorset (in May - late review), after reading their reviews. What a charming local pub it is, very friendly, people stopping off after church service had finished. We had a fantastic roast Sunday lunch and we would be coming back again if the chef was staying! Parking on the roadside. Nice little pub garden. Great Pimms! Amazing food - the scotch egg is to die for. What more can you ask for.

Our visit to Shaftesbury normally means we stay in one of the big hotels but as they where full we looked a little further and luckily for us we found this beautiful little hidden gem in the middle of child okeford. Daisy cottage is a quaint one bedroom cottage with everything you need for a great stay. We returned from Shaftesbury early evening so decided to pop into The Bakers Arms. What a lovely little pub. Full of friendliness made us feel very welcome immediately. The landlord and landlady (owners) where lovely and sat and chatted until the late hours(several wines later) Looking forward to visiting again in the future. The cottage is defiantly a must with its own little garden to.

This is a excellent drinking pub with pool table and music.The atmosphere is really friendly.It’s not a food pub now has the previous tenants have left.The owners of the pub have had to come back from Spain to run it and are doing really well.It’s great to come home from work and enjoy a drink.Lovely beer garden and lovely holiday let cottage.

What a shame! The ownership of this pub has changed and it is not the same place. Whereas there was fantastic food, friendly people and a great atmosphere, there is now NO FOOD, loud people and lots of profanities being thrown around the bar. Oh, and the 'lovely garden' and 'five star cottage' were brought up to standard by the previous landlord and landlady - I doubt they will be maintained as such. All of my previous reviews of this pub have been positive, with clear recommendation to make the effort to get to it. Now I can't highlight any positives, only negatives and certainly can't recommend the place. However, if you want a 'drinking' pub, with loud profanity and cackling harridans, it just might suit. But don't be fooled by the previous reviews (the 5 star ones) - they were for a very different establishment.

The Baker Arms serves by far and away the best food in the area, by a wide margin!! We've been sampling the local food destinations around and about for just over a year, and the Baker Arms never fails to deliver a great experience. Menu is always interesting - standard pub grub of course (fish & chips, burgers) but with a gourmet touch. And the specials are fine dining indeed: ingredients, taste, presentation, making a memorable meal. And the atmosphere is perfect: part local pub, so real people are at the bar - often with their rather special well behaved dogs; and part elegantly simple dining area - with excellent friendly service from a family who own the pub and love their food. Don't miss.

Visiting the area for a get away we came across this lovely pub. The menu looked fab so we popped Along with our two dogs. A lovely traditional pub with two delightful ladies in the bar/kitchen.
