The Aperfield Inn in Bromley

We had 2 courses on the lunch menu, the pate was beautifully presented and tasty, lasagne and chicken, bacon and avcado salad were excellent. The best Vintage Inn we have been to.

After a rubbish day at work my sister and I popped for an early evening meal. Absolutely lovely. Food was delicious, service outstanding. Really relaxing and just what was needed.

Some of the food was a bit over cooked. The burger had an unusual flavour, similar to curry but not unpleasant. The crème brûlée had a creamy texture and good flavour, however the top did not have the crunch it should have. The chips were excellent

Staff and Service: The staff were lovely and provided a warm welcome. Their attentive service added to the overall positive vibe. Ambience:  It’s a blend of traditional and modern, which creates a pleasant atmosphere. Table Condition: Unfortunately, my dining experience was marred by the sticky and dirty table. It’s disappointing when such a basic aspect isn’t up to par. Food Quality: My food arrived cold, which was disappointing. However, my husband’s meal was satisfactory. Consistency in food temperature is crucial for a great dining experience. In summary, while the staff and ambiance were delightful, attention to cleanliness and food temperature needs improvement

Disappointed in so many ways. No beef or lamb available. Took over an hour for the starters to arrive. Mains arrived after over an hour and a half (it was not busy). No sausage on kids Turkey & Sausage roast but we had to ask to be told they had run out of kids sausage, replaced with small sausages. No Apple sauce for roast pork, chips with burger cold, no melting sliced cheese in burger. Even the flowers in the vase on the table looked sad.

Lovely friendly staff and excellent chef. Alwzys delicious food. We come here often. Nice atmosphere and garden. Recommended.

Table booked for 7pm. Took an hour for starters to arrive and a further hour for main course. Food was nothing to write home about and one fish dish was cold. Did receive apologies for delay stating a chef was off sick. Experience was embarrassing particularly as we were taking friends out for a birthday celebration. Not the first time we have experienced poor service at the Aperfield. Will not be returning.

We were a family of seven, the food arrived in a very good timely manner and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Definitely a place I would choose to go again.

Very helpful as we just decide to stop for Sunday lunch, only had to wait 20’ish minutes as they were busy. When we got seated we were asked if we had any dietary restrictions, my partner has a problem with pork (it upset her stomach) so we mentioned that, even though we were both having the beef. The waitress checked with the kitchen, informing us the roasts were carved on the same board, when our meals arrive one meal had a small flag on it, they had carved my partner’s beef on a separate board just in case. Fabulous service from all in the restaurant and kitchen.

The usual pub we go to for a Sunday Roast was fully booked so we tried the Aperfield Inn and it was lovely. The Roast was great and way better than the pub we usually go to. It had a nice atmosphere and wasn't overly crowded. The staff were friendly and attentive. We'll be back soon I'm sure.

Lack of ingredients meant we couldn’t order our first choice

Another visit to this friendly restaurant which we have been using regularly for many years. The meal and service were excellent and we'd like to give special mention to Victoria and Nina for their prompt and cheerful attendance. Equally we had the opportunity to welcome the new manager Hattie and her assistant Sandra who will be taking the reins from this week forward. We look forward to putting our feet up near the log fire and choosing something from the delicious menu again soon.

Probably the worst meal we have ever eaten, (or not able to eat as was the case), forced into having an expensive set menu, half of which was not available & then was substituted. Multiple courses had to be returned as they were inedible! Be extremely careful if you suffer with an allergy as they do not listen, and in addition when this was queried further via a complaint management think that they know better than your doctors about your allergy! This is especially important if you have an extreme allergy, which may cause anaphylaxis to not be given contradicting information because they actually don’t know the answer. Complaint was submitted and response received was very aggressive when recommending a way to ensure information gives safer guidance to allergy sufferers. Definitely not worth the £125 price!

Visiting family that have recently moved to the area and thought we would try here, Well what can I say , the staff are superb , nothing is to much trouble for them , the food was delicious and very affordable prices, We loved the log fire , made us feel at home! Talking to the young lady at the bar , can’t remember her name but she was covering a few shifts , what a credit to your pub she really is , such a sweet girl. And now we know that dogs are welcome , we will be back when visiting next time with our labradoodle Bertie, who I’m sure will enjoy fire as much as we did.

I made a special journey to come to this pub, it was my visit and I was not impressed. When I came to order I was told there were no Sunday roasts left and that someone should have phone me to let me know. I also discovered there was no sausage and mash, fish and chips, burgers and various other dishes. This meant the menu was very limited. I would have appreciated a phone call about this so as not to have a waisted journey. The food I ate was bland. There was a loud radio playing in the kitchen. The muffled sound of the music was very annoying, it got worse every time the kitchen door opened and flooded the room with loud music. Cleanliness was also an issue. I was sitting next to a ledge which was dusty and had a dead beetle on it, possibly a cockroach!

We had an excellent Christmas lunch at the Aperfield! The food was perfect, everyone enjoyed their meals and there was a good selection for different dietary requirements. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Victoria who served us. Would definitely recommend!

Awful, never going back. I thought I give this place another chance. How wrong I was. Service was slow couldnt order for half hour they had 3 tables of 6 obviously could t cope. OK we will ordered our meals 45 minutes later starter came out, told the chefs were busy with the 3 tables . Even though 1 was out of the bar on their phone another coating. Very busy wasn't they. 1hr 30 minutes later still no main meal, enquired as to where they are was told that the main meal we ordered was no longer available. That was the final straw, suppose to be a Vintage Inn more like Toby Carvery with the amount of problems and lack of good service. Won't be going back and I will make sure anyone I know don't go there either. Assistant Manager took off srarters and drinks which is not what we wanted a nice relaxing meal would have been better.

Group Christmas lunch for 18 people. We had to wait over an hour for any food to be served. Unclear of the reason for this as pre booked. The venue was pleasant.

Had the pleasure of being able to try a selection of new dishes from the Christmas selection of meals, they were all amazing but my favourites were the festive Seabass, the pork and of cause the Turkey! You just have to try the profiteroles, amazeballs of heavenly taste!!

This has the potential to be a really nice pub but is let down by the staff. Nobody seems to know what they are doing and they appear to walk around aimlessly whilst ignoring customers. We went along for Sunday lunch and stood at the empty bar for a while before somebody appeared to take our order. Our children’s meals came out after around a 20 minute wait. Pretty small portions and the kids pizza looked like a bad home economics project. It was undercooked, covered in what appeared to be tomato purée from a tube and half of it didn’t even have cheese on. These meals were finished well before our adult mains came out. I went back to the bar to order more fries since my children were still hungry due to the small portions. Again I wasn’t acknowledged by anyone for a while. The Sunday roast would have been fine, nothing to crow about but nice enough if it hadn’t been so cold. I didn’t bother sending it back because I wasn’t sure it would ever make it’s way back to the table. My side dish didn’t appear until after I had finished eating despite us chasing for it twice. The waitress seemed surprised that I no longer wanted it. To her credit she did arrange a refund. We would have ordered desserts but couldn’t face another long wait with everyone’s food coming out at different times so we left. I think some investment in staff training is sorely needed.

Booked a table for 10. Arrived and waited 30 minutes to be told table is still not ready. We asked the Manager ( short with black hair) why did you book us in if table is not ready and she told us "I didn't book you in, you booked it in" no apology was given. My experience this time was okay.. We have had dinner here before and it was lovely. However, this time the food took very long, staff brought the wrong food for my partner and the quality on the food was okay. Nothing extraordinary to be honest. Lastly, the staff/work attire was not appropriate. It doesn’t look good to go a nice pub when someone is wearing flip flops (which is also a health and safety issue) but the staff didn’t not look tidy and professional. There was a staff member wearing a long T-shirt with shorts (I assume) because it didn’t look like she was wearing anything… Also, some of the spaces in the pub were not kept properly. For instance, where we were sitting the wall was dirty with paint peeling off, the desk was sticky and the cutlery, as well as, the glasses were not cleaned properly. Overall, the experience was okay. I went to have lunch with my partner because usually the food is really good and the pub looks very nice. But this time I didn’t like what I saw..

Came hear for a Sunday roast and despite the food being very good (apart from the incredibly average prawn cocktail starter), the worst thing was the wait. My daughter waited over an hour for her mains that came out with my prawn cocktail. Then we waited over 45 mins for my and my wife's mains. We spoke to the waitresses 3 times to ask where the food was but each time we just got vague answers. I felt for the two girls that were serving as they were obviously understaffed and the kitchen was backed up but the lack of communication was incredibly frustrating. We've seen this happen a couple of times coming here and it's not worth the risk doing it again. Shame as the food has been good in the past.

Normally really enjoy here but the service on Sunday was painfully slow. 80 mins from sitting until main courses arrived. Food was still nice but just so so slow. And a real lack of visibility of staff.

We celebrated a birthday family meal which was delicious. Nina and her colleagues made a fuss of my mother in law, making sure she was served first and making sure our meals were as we expected. The team brought out our cake and sang her happy birthday. Food was yummy, pizza, seabass, rib eye and fish and chips. All well cooked, piping hot and flavoursome. Would recommend 🙂

More staff needed I think. I appreciate it was quite busy at the time of our visit, but we waited a LONG time for our food, our coffee's after. One member of staff apologised but as I said, I think the pub was understaffed and would make me think twice about booking again. We also had elderly parents with us which didn't help.

The food was good as was the drink. So quality was good. The service was terrible. The server was doing one task / one table at a time. Other people around me were going to the bar themselves or moving outside etc. or drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. A further 10 minutes to order mains. Food came Promptly nonissue there, kitchen did well. Then we sat with empty plates for 15 mins asked for a desert menu and actually after waiting for further 10 minutes we decided to just leave without ordering. We refused to leave a tip and said why.

Victoria was our waitress and what a delight she was, so cheery, helpful and polite. The trio of toast was delicious and the crumble was top drawer! Always enjoy the summer cocktails too!

We pre-booked the Aperfield Inn for a wake for over 60 guests. The buffet food was plentiful and tasty and the staff were very helpful and had set up an area for us inside the pub. As the weather was good we had spilled out onto the comfortable patio. We purchased drinks separately and there was no problem with waiting at the bar for drinks which were priced comparatively with the local pubs and restaurants. All in all I was very pleased with the Inn and would use them again.

Lara and Chloe were delightful. Food was really nice. Only complaint I have is having to listen to the kitchens deafening music coming out the doors every time they open.

UPDATE: Will not be going again, my poor elderly (not to mention ill) mother charged for parking because she came in the back door and didnt realise Are she had to pay for parking and staff dddnt mention.What kind of werd system is this? Absolutely fuming. waitress was lovely decor is nice but food was absolutely appalling. After a previous good visit we were really shocked at the quality of food I had to send one of the burgers back because it was just thrown on a plate the burger looks rock hard and I could really do better at home it was just really a disgrace that they could even serve that to somebody. Squid starter which was previously nice was hard and chewy the linguine was really poor and very few prawns needless to say will not be returning in a hurry
