The Anglesea Arms in Hammersmith and Fulham

I went for lunch. The scallops came with stalky and fibrous leaks- not edible. The scallops that came with it were very small. I had to send it back and order something else. Otherwise it was a decent pub in terms of service and atmosphere.

Friendly staff. We were accomodated even when we were a bit late being not from the area. Service was good and quick, and server was very attentive. Loved the gambas and the chocolate mousse was to die for. The sweet velvety texture of the mousse was balanced by the tangy taste of the blood oranges and the crispy topping. Yummy!

We had the Sunday Roast, and it was incredibly satisfying. The ambiance of the restaurant was also excellent, creating a pleasant Sunday brunch atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

A true gastro pub that has a relaxed atmosphere, interesting menu without being contrived, and attentive staff. Never been before but will go again.

Places with this quality aren’t usual in London. It’s a wonderful surprise! Today they made a regular client with me!

Terrible experience. Turned up at 3.30pm on a Friday afternoon to a pub that was 30% at capacity at most and was told couldn’t have our prams out despite 2 sleeping babies and plenty of room. Awful customer service, no sense of wanting to help or be accommodating. If the pub was full we’d have totally understood and if the pub started to fill up we would have moved on but stated we only wanted to stay for one drink. It’s isolating enough being a new mum, let alone being turned away from an empty pub. Very disappointing indeed.

Wonderful food! The service is efficient and friendly as well. Bit on the pricier side for a pub but the quality of everything makes it understandable. Would recommend for a nice dinner near Ravenscourt Park!

One of London’s top roasts, without a doubt

We visited your wonderful establishment today and even though we didn’t get the table we booked, we enjoyed the food and service tremendously. Special thank you to Freya who made our experience so very pleasant and my little black pooch Ned also gave the roast thumbs up! We’ll be back in a couple of weeks time. Till then!

We came here to try their Sunday roast a few weeks ago and everyone in our group loved it! Nested in a discreet, low traffic and quiet residential area which seemed like a big hit with families and those living nearby. Alongside the friendly, personable staff that served us, we all enjoyed our food and would definitely rank this as now one of our favourite pubs in West London.

The place is very cosy situated in a calm area. It is very busy and need to book in advanced. Service were very welcoming and lovely at all times. Food was great. I had the roast beef and was super tasty and perfect portion. The Apple crumble was a must. It is worthy a try.

We were invited by friends to meet up for Sunday lunch, not usually a favourite as we often find we can cook Sunday lunch as well at home. On this occasion however we thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. The venison tartare was rich and full of flavour with a nice side of marrowbone. The burrata salad was fresh, tasty and a lighter option. Roast beef was delicious and properly cooked and the vegetables were crisp, with some excellent roast potatoes. The portions are substantial so make sure you go feeling hungry. The place was packed and the fire was lit, the company was great all in all a perfect Sunday afternoon.

Joy and Saxon was amazing smiling and having banter it was an amazing experience. The service was amazing thanks to them. The food, most places I go it's dry and bland but the food was fantastic it had flavour and was cooked perfectly. The lamb was beautiful. Thank you guys so much

**AVOID** The manager is one of life’s charmless, computer-says-no, officious sorts. He came over to our table to insist we woke up our baby - who was sleeping in her pram - and sit her back at the table. Something to do with her cluttering up the place…even though she was tucked in the corner, completely out the way (by the manager’s own admission). Some rubbish about “policy”. The Orange Giraffe Pub Co. should put more thought into the individuals that head up its pubs. When you leave it to the sort of weapons-grade pedant that runs The Anglesea Arms to set the atmosphere of your venue, the customer does really begin to question why they are paying c.£70/head for fairly average food and drink. We won’t be back.

Very good pub food, great atmosphere.

You cant ask for a better London pub. Its tucked away down a lovely side street, warm inside, with a fireplace and dogs, kind staff, excellent food and reasonable prices.

Not living locally, this was our first visit in 22 years, so always a slight worry that we would be disappointed. Absolutely not. The place has a fantastic buzz as soon as you open the door, the service was outstanding from first greeting (big shout out to Asha, our excellent waitress) and the food was superb. Will try not to leave it quite so long until our next visit 😊

Loved the place. Round the corner from where my wife grew up. Really friendly London pub. Will definitely revisit next time we're in Shepherds Bush. PS great local beers.

Great food and service once again

Food is phenomenal, above any other pub I've ever eaten at in London. To call this a pub is almost doing it a disservice, the food is as good as any over-hyped Soho sharing plate spot which will cost more than double. Particularly recommend: Chicken Milanese, Cesar Salad, Bolognese and the Tuna Steak. Cannot recommend this pub enough.

A hidden gem, It’s just a marvellous Gastropub with excellent food/nutrition, Even better chefs ☆☆☆☆☆ 🇧🇷that combined with a splendid front-of-house team; led by Simon. Beer is not cheap but the service and atmosphere are good. The food is superb.

Delicious food. Second time we had dinner there and both times very happy. We ordered two main dishes to share, so i tried both seafood and chorizo paella and spaghetti with vegetables. It was very good, especially spaghetti. For a dessert we ordered strawberry mille feuille - presentation was really lovely and dessert as well, not too sweet, full of taste

Very expensive. £23 for a roast. Wine 30+ bottle. Glass of wine £11+. 2 roast dinners. 3 glasses of red and white. One tiramusi. £141 Wont return. Place was packed on sunday you need to book. Dogs allowed. Outside seating. Meal was very overpriced.

Lovely, quaint Gastro Pub with great food and attentive staff. Our daughter had a health issue while at lunch and Charlie and all the staff were extremely patient and extraordinary helpful. We are truly grateful.

Very popular gastropub, the dining room was full on the tuesday night we visited. Great portion sizes, lovely service and hearty food. Perhaps a touch on the salty side, but I suppose the drinks will help to balance that out!

Very welcoming, great ambience and simply delicious, fresh food. We really enjoyed the Oysters and the grilled octopus with Mediterranean beans as well as the burgers and duck leg. The accompanying wines were superb. Good choices of healthy food for youngsters too.

Wrong Plaice Wrong Time. For the past 5 years this pub has been my go to for a good ol sundee roast. Today we were once again served a delicious pork belly 10/10. Unfortunately we ordered two servings of the Plaice. One came out great, crispy skin and deliciously tender meat dripping in juices. The other came out grey, weird looking and tasting. I think they mixed up the plaice! For the folks who don’t know, plaice is another word for a Flounder, a dumb bottom dwelling fish that you can scare with a torch and stab in the head with a spear. The chefs seemed “floundered” themselves when we mentioned one of the dishes tasted completely different. “You must know fish better than us” I believe was the response, I guess I do. Still, not very comforting to hear from the chief of staff. Lessoned learned though - don’t bring a flounder to a pig fight!

Best local restaurant . Superbe atmosphere . Superbe food. Small terrasse where all your local freinds can meat you . Great staff, happy to work her. Only cretinism will be the wine will love to see other wine on the menu. But food is really excellent . So lucky to have a local restaurant like this one

This is a favourite local pub for me. I think the quality of food is so high. I absolutely loved every element of my Sunday roast beef lunch. Everything was cooked to perfection! The Yorkshire puddings were so interesting, they looked like muffins but were hollow and soft. Delicious!

Really great little pub, staff were very nice to an old lady who'd ended up there by mistake and helped her get home. Drinks were nice too.

Super authentic British pub with excellent food and really genuinely lovely service. Can get very Smokey if sat by the kitchen in busy periods, but you should go regardless.

4.5 out of 5 but Im rounding up cause Im polite like that. Great cozy venue and exactly what you’d expect when thinking of a good pub with grub. Went here with 6 of my mates for a Sunday roast. We arrived 5mins after our booking and had to wait 5mins for our table which was no biggie. Roast arrived 30mins after our order which is fair for 6 servings. The roast itself was quite bussin’, especially the crispy roast potatoes and horseradish sauce. Me and my mate who is a certified Yorkshire man were impressed with the Yorkshire puddings being fresh but they were however slightly overcooked and tasted a bit brown-bready. Service was very good with staff approaching frequently and inquiring about our level of satisfaction. I will definitely return for more grub and praps a couple bevvies too. Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening 🙌

Not kids-friendly We came at the opening at 12pm, on a Sunday, without a booking. A party of 3 adults and 4 kids. The pub was empty, literally: not a single customer. But they turned us away: "we don't do tables of more than 6, oh, and we are also fully booked". Actually turned out great, we went to the Hatched House 200 yards from there: much more welcoming, hreat food, and a much nicer room.

Scrumptious Sunday roast. Shoulder of lamb was meltingly soft, accompanied with a tasty olive tapenade. Served up with a selection of fresh root vegetables and buttery mash with a rich velvety gravy. Yummy!

The AA took the podium top spot for the very best Sunday roast lunch of 2022 from our table. Superb service from the booking to the welcome, menu, food, drinks and table service. The place was packed and was "a proper pub" we will all be back sooner than later. 10/10

I really enjoyed the sausage and mash, gravy was okay, I would have loved to try the duck but they were out of it. The atmosphere was a good local feel, we have found a new spot I think, that I would walk to for a Sunday pint.

What an amazing refurbishment! With a lot of attention to the finer details - right down to the beautiful table flowers. Always a great atmosphere with people literally spilling out of the door, great service and very friendly team. A must visit 100% will be back again very soon

Absolutely amazingly delicious meals all around, from the paella to the lamb roast. Even the greens were cooked and dressed to perfection.

Haven’t been here for a while and delighted to see a fantastic new menu. Burger was delicious. Personally would still like to see the whole pub dog friendly and not just the bar area, but not going to mark them down for this. Staff are very friendly too 🤩

This used to be my local, back in 1987, when my girlfriend and I lived in nearby Rosedale Terrace. Quite by chance I ran into an old friend and his wife in Portobello Road, on Saturday. They were living in Shepard's Bush and invited me to Sunday lunch at the Anglesea Arms. This was the first time I had been back since taking my Italian girlfriend there in 1991. Amazing food, very friendly and welcoming staff and the locals are accepting of strangers. A truly fine pub, with an almost 'village local' feel to it. Highly recommended...I just wish I still lived nearby and not in Southampton.

It was incredible. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was really friendly. Our favourites were the Roasted Rump of lamb (ridiculously tender and tasty) and the sea bass. Highly recommend it.

Tuesday evening Spring... 40min to get our food served and the pub was half empty. The medium rare patty was pretty dry and overcooked. They could do better. :(

One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in London. Just impeccable from start to finish. Had the goats cheese and caponata bruschetta to start and the monkfish and it was incredible. Staff lovely too. Wish I lived closer!

Went for Mother’s Day special lunch , the food as per usual 1st class, very good choice of roasts, presented at the table as a 5 star restaurant, the staff both on the floor and behind the bar , very pleasant and helpful with wine recommendations etc, Simon the manager made us feel very welcome, he made sure our eating experience was as normally very good, our table waitress was lovely although the pub was very busy she kept popping back to make sure we were ok and did we need anything , overall as expected a really nice and enjoyable meal AGAIN!!!!!! Very plesent environment & food a bit on the expensive side

Just had what I thought was lunch. Soup came cold and had to return. Then came the burger and it tasted stale and basically cold burger. Fries were served at room temperature too. Don’t waste your money there unless you are going for a beer or a drink. I really think chef must be underpaid or overworked ..

Services was poor, staff are burned out and short handed. Food was cold. Ordered onion soup and burger, and both were stale, not edible. You can have drinks there but be sure to ask for fresh and hot food. This place is a trap for food. Have drinks only. They serve you leftover food so be on alert please!
