The Anglers Rest in Derbyshire Dales

Popped into the Anglers Rest for lunch after walking Chee Dale, lovely pub situated alongside the river with plenty of seating outside. Unfortunately is was raining when we arrived but we were welcomed inside and kindly found a seat. We both had a well earned sandwich and pint, food was great and service was quick even though they were very busy.

What a lovely, traditional and friendly pub! We had a lovely meal - the menu isn't extensive but it does offer a good choice and everything was well cooked and presented. The staff were really friendly (even offering scissors so we didn't have to fight to try to open the ketchup sachets - a nice touch!). Well worth a visit.

Lovely pub, warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Just what we needed after a long walk. Food was good and reasonably priced.

Stopped off here for lunch. The food was excellent catering for a gluten free diet and one that was egg and dairy free. Lovely helpful staff who were very attentive. Very reasonably priced in lovely surroundings. Hope to go again!

Traditional very friendly pub. A great stop off along the monsil trail in miller's Dale. Great beer on tap. The best on our short weekend travels. Seems to be the place owners take their dogs for sunday lunch not the kids! ! If you don't like dogs Then this is not your place..... Imo. Lovely friendly vibe about this place. Good food. Give it a visit. For food or a beer or both,you won't be disappointed.

As a coeliac, finding a GF lasagne is like heaven! However when it arrived, there was no pasta in it?! It was ragu in a dish with cheese on top. I was absolutely gutted after a long hike. On the other hand my partner really enjoyed his pie so I think generally the food is good. Just gutting for the GF people!

Extremely good homecooked food, and excellent selection of real ales. Great service from friendly, helpful staff. Fabulous location, spotlessly clean traditional pub. Well worth the 90 minute drive! Can't wait to go back.

A lovely pub/restaurant in Miller's Dale. Excellent food and lovely happy and welcoming staff. One point to mention is that if you plan to stay in the apartment- it has an external entrance that is accessed by a steep set of steps, and there is no handrail. The alternative is to walk along the lane to the main road and then walk along the road to the gate a distance of around 500 yards.

Very nice local pub along the river. Good choice of food, esspecially pies served with a mix of good fresh vegetables and chips or new patotoes. Good portions aswell. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Would like to See many more pubs like this one, Thank you!

Approx half way in a circular walk from Tideswell so perfect for a frothy pint to energise the body for the home leg and the next hostelry 🥳. Sat beside the river and enjoyed to moment ignoring the signs that we could not eat our home made cheese and onion cobs 🤔 Ooh err missus

Nice food & service good. I did however advise at the time of booking that I had a 7 year old celiac granddaughter & was told that wasn’t a problem as they have an extensive gluten free menu available so I was a little disappointed when I was told I would have to pay for an adult meal as they wouldn’t supply a child’s portion. First place I’ve visited where I’ve had to do that!

Great little pub in the centre of the quiet hamlet of Miller’s Dale. It was lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by and enjoy a couple of drinks. Well worth visiting and reasonably priced too.

We had scampi. It was perfectly cooked and tender. The chips, unlike so many eateries, were crisp and fluffy within. Everything beautifully presented. Even the stainless knives were new and sharp...take note other Peak kitchens!

Second visit and was well worth the drive. Fabulous food. Proper English pub fare. Generous portions....great prices. This is a gem of a place. Highly recommended for a great traditional pub meal.
