The Anchor Inn in North Somerset

Gosh the Anchor Inn has been around a long time. I remember being in the children’s room there on July 20, 1969 and my dad walked in from the bar and said we had to go home to watch some fella walk on the moon. I was 9 then. I live in Australia now- last went there in 1992 as we decided to have my dads wake there as it has always been his fav pub!

A real locals pub. I didn't eat but popped in to check it out, and I had a half. It's friendly enough, and was quiet when I was there, with just a handful of locals around the bar.

Didn't eat here hence no stars. But lovely atmosphere

Only called in for a beer so didn't order food so haven't rated the food, I found the atmosphere was good and the local people were warm and welcoming

Nice and friendly. Chose the pub because it is dog friendly. Slightly disappointed when we got there. As there was no food service.

Went on a quiet night, and it was pretty good! Didn't eat there, but maybe next time (I'd already eaten!!)

No restaurant... .since covd we were told. Did however did make us a fresh roll.

just had a Sunday roast in here ,pork with crackling absolutely bang on food was excellent .my missus and son both had the beef which was also very good ,parked out the back no problem .all in all a good visit

Had Sunday roast last weekend all you can eat so full could not eat a pudding great value for money give the Anchor a try

I remember going here as a child while on a camping holiday in the adjoining field. We were holidaying locally so stopped and unusually the pub hadn't changed much. I assume it was a group of local men obviously enjoying an afternoon pint or two, but their language was awful. Not nice when we had young children with us.

Needs a lot of TLC , landlord is really nice,quiz night needs more people

Love to come for sunday lunch. Lovley food fresh veggies cooked great. Staff are always friendly and welcoming would well recommend a visit.

Myself my partner and 2 children have just returned from the anchor inn we are staying on the caravan park next door and decided to try somewhere different can not fault it very welcoming the chiefs roast was amazing and a value for money definitely recommend

Lovely place nicely placed away from all the other bought out consortium pubs. Food was all home made and lovely. It's Tuesday we went and deffo be going back there before our hols are over.

NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT COVER! Me and my wife drove past it and didn't like the look of it as it is a bit run, But that was our mistake as i can honestly say the food was great, the staff we're lovely and it was the best meal we had all weekend! Will definatly be popping back in

I cycled from Weston i called in for a carling very friendly staff and customers i will definately be going again very cozy pub and nice to sit in or out just to relax cant wait to go there again

I love the fact you can be yourself at all times, very welcoming, food is fabulous Jason goes all out. Staff can't do enough for you, always fun to be had. Traditional pub, through & through. Can't recommend it enough.

What a disappointment.... the bar of an evening is overrun by whingeing kids. As for the landlords.... well perhaps they are easily influenced by them and their wants.... avoid if your going for an adult drink!!!!

Outstanding levels of customer service, smiling happy staff, first class management made us feel more comfortable and even chucked half a ton of logs on the fire to warm us up on a cold day. Food is great value and served well in an unpretentious manner. Well worth a detour off the M5 for real food real service and a good pint.

Lovely and cosy. Landlord and Landlady, Jason and Tina, along with their daughter, Georgina are extremely hospitable. The Sunday lunch is great. Sky Sports available. Love it

Just had a damn good lunch here. Proper pub proper food. Nothing fancy but Just perfect. What a real pub should be. Staff and owners lovely and customers it bad either!!! And there is live music. Just great.

Fantastic food great staff and brilliant atmosphere

When I had last visited this pub more than two years ago it seemed most uninviting and I would not have considered visiting again if I had not heard from a friend that it had greatly improved since then. When I visited it last week I was pleasantly surprised. Despite the fact that a notice on the wall still invited me to "póg mo thóin", the staff were most welcoming and the place had a good atmosphere. The beer, I am told was good, although I was not drinking it myself, and the menu looked very appetising. I did not have a meal, but the couple sat next to me did and evidently enjoyed it. I shall definitely visit this pub again and next time I will try the food and the beer.
