Nice spot looking out across harbour. Food well presented but overcooked and very crunchy. Staff need to be mindful that they don’t talk about their customers openly in the bar. They were discussing a party of 10 booked for this Saturday who they referred to as “going to be a drama” - so unprofessional!

Apart from the wonderful situation and view over the harbour and the cheerful wait staff, the experience was one to be avoided. After a hour and a half wait the roast beef arrived with the usual trimmings and a bowl of soggy vegetables. The beef was jaw achingly impossible to eat, grey in colour and rimmed with gristle. Would never recommend a friend - maybe an enemy!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

When we initially got there at 5.30pm on pie night for our booking, the guy behind the bar and who took our order was friendly but it turns out he was the pubs downfall! It’s only because the young guy who took over from him was so fantastic that this review isn’t a lot worse. He really saved it! We were told when we ordered with the first guy that pie comes with chips or new potatoes. We asked for mash but was told that’s not an option. After we had eaten we noticed the man on the table next to us had mash! We asked our new server what pies come with and he confirmed it’s either chips or mash! 2 people really wanted mash but was told they couldn’t have it which isn’t ok! The second issue was that our original server forgot to put the 2yr olds meal through! This resulted in tears and tantrums while the 4 adults had food in front of us but the toddler didn’t. The new server rushed the order through as quick as possible and to his credit removed it off the bill without hesitation. The third issue was that all the bowls of chips had to go back because they were cold! The carrots under the top layer in the veg bowl were not just cold but fridge cold. To be fair, we didn’t mention the cold carrots because by then the poor server who had already gone above and beyond to deal with the previous guys mess ups, had apologised so much that we felt bad to mention anymore issues to him. Not good anchor bleu!

We went twice to the Anchor Bleu. Monday night they did a main course meal for £10. There were a few options but we had Pop-corn Prawns, Chips and Salad, Really good! We got talking to the couple on the next table and decided we would pair up with them for a Pub Quiz the next evening. The cost was £7.50 which included a bowl of chicken chowder plus the quiz! It was an absolutely fantastic night! Fun questions and atmosphere. We came third! Must mention the staff, they are really hard working and helpful with brilliant senses of humour! Thank you guys!

A 16th century pub with plenty of character in a superb location. Staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful with great advice on food and drink. The food was of high quality and also appealing as "home made" in terms of preparation. Specials are very good Highly recommended

This is a lovely pub in a great location, very friendly, great food and service. My only criticism is that the vegan option has not changed in several years so there is never any surprise or variety. Our latest visit was February and it was the standard sea cakes with salad. Where is the warming winter stews with chunky bread? I’d even welcome a curry or chilli for a change. The treacle tart is amazing though and lovely to have a vegan dessert option, thank you.

Met as a group for a family festive get together, main courses all very enjoyable. Service by the team working very positive friendly and helpful. Nice selection of wines, great views from the first floor of the sea. Avoid the deserts very over priced at £7.50. Service charge also a little shocking for groups at 12.5% for a local pub a bit much. Would have been better to allow guests to leave tips. I would return but not with a group and would also stay away from the desert menu. Main courses are very flavoursome and well created.

This pub has absolutely wonderful food. My husband ordered the whitebait on salad. That was extremely tasty. His main was chicken, leek and gammon pie. Everything about it, including the gravy and the side veg of carrots, new potatoes and cabbage were perfect. I ordered the veg soup with Stilton. It was not just presentable with chopped chives sprinkled on top, but very flavourful. My fish and chips was prob best I’ve had. I was going to cut away some of the batter, forget that, it was so light, delicious and irresistible. The white fish was a good size and very meaty and perfectly cooked. Chips were thick but cooked the way I like them, crunchy, not mushy! On top of that, Amy and the other lovely girl who served us as well as the young man at the bar, clearly took pride in their jobs and made everyone feel welcome. That’s a real bonus. Oh, and I have a new favourite cider, The Whistling Piglet. Do you think we enjoyed our pub lunch? It’s 5 stars from us and we will be back soon. Well done all for coordinating all that and making it top notch service. Kristin and gareth London

The Anchor Bleu in Bosham offers a charming, cosy atmosphere with picturesque views of the water. Despite a full list of bookings, they managed to accommodate us in an upstairs quaint room. The diverse menu featuring daily dishes and a mix of cuisines impressed us. We indulged in macaroni cheese croquettes starter, chicken gyros and a ragu stew with mash for main, ending the meal with a delectable mincemeat and frangipan tart with ice cream and a sticky toffee pudding with cream. Highly recommended, but booking in advance is advisable, as we witnessed many being turned away.
