If you’re looking for friendly service or any respect from another human being DO NOT come here, went in here to use the loo was told I wasn’t allowed to use it as I wasn’t having a meal in the restaurant, which is fine, however the reaction I got from the bald man with glasses was appalling, was no clear communication from the man just grumbles which then led to him shouting at me to get out … overall terrible experience and absolutely shocking a man could talk to a young girl like that especially in the industry that he’s in. I will not be back which is a shame as my family loves the food here.

Back visiting family we were again impressed with the level of customer service from the team here. Really easy to access,with clean tables with a great view to the passers by outside. We get the usual fish and chips althoughI am always tempted to get the burger !!!! There is a reason this place is always busy….great fresh food.Fabulous staff ,and a genuine nice place to eat!

We were travelling and needed something to eat . I looked for fast food providers in Bridge of Allan and found this cafe and take away . Delighted I did . Brilliant fish and chips ( crispy batter , no taste from the oil ) and a much more than generous portion . Staff were friendly and service was fast .

This cafe is owned by the hardest working people who are customer service focussed legends. The food never disappoints- fish (Haddock or Cod both awesome) and chips, black pudding or haggis supper. The burgers look great though not had one. Real potato chips. But lets talk about icecream, lots of different flavours made by the owners and oh my goodness its good. One issue. Parking is almost impossible of busy times but go anyway it’d be worth the parking fine.

Chips were lovely but unfortunately the batter on the haddock was raw tasting and soggy while.the fish itself was over cooked ...First and last time.coming I'm afraid ...on a positive note the staff was lovely...shame fish was terrible

A real, authentic Scots-Italian chippy! Always busy, the service is fast but very friendly the quality of fish is second to none and the chips are crispy and delicious.

Very good fish supper to takeaway, £9.25 for small haddock supper. BUT I spotted the man fetching fresh fish from the cold cabinet when two or three fillets fell on the floor.....the fish were just picked up and chucked somewhere..... I didn't see where the fish were thrown as behind the counter but I suspect into the batter mix..... Rather off-putting.

Called in for take away Fish and Chips, chips were ok but the fish was overcooked and the batter was poor.At the price I was expecting something good.

We visit the Stirling/Dunblane area once a year to catch up with family. On these visits we always eat at the Allan Water Cafe As always our haddock and chips followed by ice cream were absolutely excellent. Both the quality and quantity of the food was very good indeed. We opted for the "medium" haddock and it was enormous The service was prompt and friendly and we look forward to next year's visit

We waited and waited for the seating area to be opened in order that we could sit down in the old fashioned way and enjoy an old fashioned fish supper. Well worth the wait though we dined early lunch time as tea time seemed ages away. I wouldn't go anywhere else except Allan Water Cafe for fish and chips as their quality is always excellent, and cleanliness guaranteed. These are difficult times and we should support small local businesses, not just because they are local but because their quality of food, hygiene standards and customer service are first class. This is a family run cafe and this reflects on the staff who go all out to make sure your visit is so good you'll always come back for more. We did experience the takeaway service once as lockdown eased and again, the quality of the fish and chips, high standard of staff in the takeaway, were superb.

I don't live near Bridge of Allan, but I make the 30 minute drive just for these Fish n Chips! Hands down the best fish n chips out there. The fish is so meaty and the batter is just perfect in thickness and crunch! Great chips, too! I've tried loads of other chip shops around Scotland and this place is definitely up there with the best!

Just had the best takeaway we have ever had from the AllanWater. Always a favourite for a fish tea, wouldn’t go anywhere else for ice-cream but in lockdown times the Bechelli family managed to take our order, prepare and have it ready to pick up on time....and it was delicious! Have been to the Allanwater Cafe many times both to sit in and take away. I was really looking forward to our fish takeaway tonight. In the past the food has been really tasty, however, tonight although it was really busy the majority of the food was awful. Ordered one medium fish supper and two small fish suppers. The medium fish supper was fine, nice and white fish. The two small fish suppers were totally different, one was fairly white fish but tasted a bit strong, the other was a pinkish grey colour and tasted strong so left most of it and placed in the bin. The three suppers were fairly expensive as a takeaway and I will certainly not be back. I don’t know if they have changed supplier or if fish is kept too long but certainly not as good as it was before. Sorry Allanwater Cafe but not what you used to be and will certainly be going elsewhere in the future.

Although the restaurant can look a bit dirty from time to time and the food can take a while sometimes, I am always guaranteed amazing food which makes up for all the cons. I personally recommend a fish tea with ice cream!

I don't much like chips, but this did not reduce my enjoyment of the old style British eatery. It has a fair choice on the menu. We were there for a late lunch, it is open for 12 hours a day, and I must say i really fancied the breakfast options.

Bit of wait for a seat but it was a Friday night and very busy. The fish was great and the chips were homemade, the icecream was really good, the coconut milkshake was excellent and staff were very friendly and attentive, will defo b back for more fish and chips when next visiting Stirling

Dropped in on the way through the town. As usual the service and food quality was excellent. The medium haddock and chips is a great joice although there are plenty of other really nice items on the menu.

We went into the allan water cafe to purchase ice creams for our boys for a birthday treat after their rugby match. The older lady who served us was from the start very rude and aggressive in the way she spoke. My son asked for two different flavours of ice cream and she replied “NO can’t do that” straight away. After watching her give a scoop and and a bit to the rest I asked her why would it be a problem to do the same but with two different flavours? Her reply was rude and could see she was upsetting my birthday boy. This lady had no customer service skills at all and seemed very unhappy to be working in the place. Wouldn’t be returning to this place after using if for years.

We went in and were the only folk there for a bit. Ordered the food and waited. Some not so good Hygiene practices. The gent doing the frying used his hand to remove excess batter from the Fish. He moments before this had been cleaning dirty grease from below the Fryers. After removing the batter he “washed” his hands in water in a bucket!!. Not good. However, the Fish and Chips were great. Please pay a little more attention to basic cleanliness and clean as you go.

Having listened to recommendations about how good it was here, we decided to give it a try. On arrival we decided to sit in. We ordered a fish supper and a white pudding supper. When it came, the portions of chips were miniscule. The batter was so crispy and hard, you couldn,t cut it. When it was time to pay, over £20, what a Rip Off. We wont be back

Our first visit on the way home from a nice day out. Very busy, bustling fish and chip restaurant. Good traditional fish tea is an excellent choice complete with home made ice cream to finish. Hard to beat. Thoroughly recommend.

Excellent fish and chips fish ( COD or haddock) in three sizes to match appetite. I get my chips well done with breaded fish once a week! Ice cream is superb and the freshly made up sandwiches- rolls +/- salad for free are always great. Pleasant for sitting in or takeaway. (Wheelchair access but not to toilets)

After visiting Stirling Castle in the morning, try to have a lunch at the Allan Water Cafe. It’s established in1902, but the restaurant is very well kept and looks very modern. The Cod fish and chips was very delicious. The service was superb. It’s highly recommended restaurant in Stirling.

Everyone kept telling me to go to the Bridge of Allan's Allan Water Cafe for fish 'n chips. They were not wrong. The small portion was plenty big enough for me, and left room for their homemade ice cream... I think I may have squeeeeed out loud when I saw they had Ferrero Roche ice cream. They made it into a '99 for me. Pure brilliant.

Quite apart from their delicious fish and chips, the Allanwater Cafe serves very tasty breakfasts too. Our breakfast was freshly cooked and a great selection, together with lovely coffee. Friendly and efficient service. Good value for money too.
