The 29029 in Purbeck

We made a relatively late booking for the 29029 to eat on a Saturday night. The restaurant has a number of unusual dishes on the menu, and we chose the pork vindaloo. My first mouthful of a curry in a new restaurant is always of just the sauce so that you get a real sense of the depth of flavour. Here, there were 5 distinct 'waves' of flavour, each separated by a couple of seconds. The sauce was not too spicy but tasted simply fantastic. Possibly the best we have ever tasted. Truly excellent food.

My son suggested this place for something a bit different for mother's day lunch and I'm very glad he did. The food was gorgeous and I'm not usually very adventurous when it comes to food, but I loved the different chutneys, stir fried cauliflower & potatoes and my masala. They also do a buffet at lunch times, which looked equally as lovely. Staff were friendly & attentive. We will definitely be back

My friend and I treated ourselves to lunch at 29029 and what a treat it was! The food was delicious, the presentation was a work of art, and the service was friendly and kind. The price was also extremely reasonable. We had 2 starters and a main course with peshwari naan bread between us and a mango lassi each. The starters were: Cottage Cheese Cakes: Seasoned With A Blend Of Spices And Cilantro, Then Coated With Roasted Sesame Seeds, Apricot Chutney And Mango Dressing; and Potato Cakes With Spinach: Potato Patties Mixed With Asparagus And Topped With Yoghurt, Mint And Tamarind Chutney, Served With Warm Chickpea Salad. For main course we had Modu Murg: Strips Of Chicken Breast Cooked With Honey And Coconut In A Creamy Sauce With Shavings Of Crisp Parsnips.

Great food and the staff are some of the friendliest I've ever encountered, it's my third visit in 3 months and I plan on coming back for a fourth. Hidden gem.

The presentation, service and food quality was excellent. Delicious curries presented with a twist and good selection of wine. All at a very reasonable price. We would definitely recommend and return.

After visiting the restaurant for several years, we tried takeaway for the first time. We tried items from the menu we had never previously tried. The Old Dehli curry was reasonably spicy but very sweet, whilst the duck was good. The only slight disappointment was one missing starter from the delivery.

The place was heaving - it was a Saturday night - we felt a little forgotten about. Service was slow and a little inaccurate.

Must say the food when we got eventually, was very good,but really the service is very poor,almost 3 hrs,would love to have tried the desserts but was not prepared to wait another 30 mins or so,especially as one of the family had just done a 12hr shift , So if your not in a hurry or not hungry when you first arrive this is the place to go.

I don’t normally leave reviews but tonights experience was exceptional. Just popped in for a quick curry on way back from gym, and boy am I glad I did. I have never eaten here before as I am only visiting the area for a week. So what can I say… Food tastes, flavours, aromas and textures just work! Putting it simply a delicious and altogether exceptional food experience. The service was great too. Can’t wait for my next trip!

This is our favourite restaurant in the area. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. The food is well cooked and presented. The buffet lunch offers a good selection of starters and a couple of main dishes plus a desert. The evening menu is very extensive.
