got two thai green curries, both had the composition of water, soggy fleshy vegetables and no taste, extremely depressing meal, price was audacious for what it was

Just got an uber eats delivery and the food was disgusting, actually surprised they can sell it! It was also very expensive which is appalling.

Must have new management as no Thais anywhere all south Asian. The waiters weren’t very good, and lacked knowledge of the food, seemed impatient... ( the atmosphere was all wrong due to waiters ) The food was ok, very salty and not bad but not great, but the portion was ample, rice wasn’t cooked very well .. it’s was a lunch special so was reasonable price. They add tip on bill which I find rude ... I’ll probably not go back (it was better when they had Thai staff , in traditional clothes welcoming you in Thai )... if you are in area and hungry it works . But there are better Thai places around.

Devide Thai food. Lovely meal ,friendly staff, clean place with a cool vibe. would defiantly come back.

Once again we had a very nice meal in Thai City. We ate from the £16 early evening menu. The choices for each course were very good and the portion size was also very good. The food was well presented and very tasty and the service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely come here again and would recommend this restaurant to our friends.

myself and a few work friends have been here a few times for lunch, they a do a nice lunch menu. not sure what the main menu is like? Service is a little slow considering its not very busy when we have been but never had any complaints to be honest. not much choice of wine but that doesn't bother me on lunch break but would if i was going for dinner. setting is pretty nice and clean. overall its a nice place to eat.

We had a really nice meal at Thai City. We ate from the Early Bird menu and the food was very good and the portions were generous. We very much enjoyed our meal and will be coming back.

I've been there many times and I like the food and atmosphere in there . However , this time I was not very happy about the food , I think the quality of the food is going down , less flavour . I still like it. Staff are very nice~

The waiter tipped a full pint of freezing lager in my lap ruining an expensive suit and shoes and thought he was doing something special by replacing the lager he had just knocked over and then expected me to pay the 20% service. Lol. Never going there again.

The restaurant has changed its name and maybe lost its identity. The staff were friendly enough but the food was simply OK whilst charging prices that suggested more than OK. Nothing wrong with the flavours but the quality of the meat questionable. 12.5% service charge always annoys and in hindsight not really sure why I paid it. School report would read tries hard but could do better.

I had the seafood pad Thai which was a sizable portion but with only two prawns, a few coils of overcooked squid, two mussels and a single piece of fish. It was very tasty tho. The broccoli dish I ordered was also good although doused in too much mag. Service was good

Guys, I love your restaurant but you have priced me out by having a £25 minimum order and £2.50 delivery. Sad that I have to go elsewhere because of your rising prices

Booked this restaurant for my Birthday meal before a concert in Old Street. Interesting place with unusual decor. Strange service too as not sure that English was native to the greeter. The cocktails are nice but overly sweet. The food is very good actually but traditional Thai, not modern. Reminds me of Thai food from the 90s. When you have the likes of Busaba these days, it's hard to go backwards and eat old school Thai food. Had a 20% discount applied and found the bill still very expensive for the type of restaurant. Portions were big so had loads of left overs. Very strange place but not good and not bad. Couldn't recommend to a friend as I only recommend very good places and this was pretty average. Having said that, it's not disappointing.

This a good, not too expensive, Thai restaurant just off Old Street. We went on a Friday night and it was busy. I asked for my curry to be spicy and it was - I thought it was delicious. Probably best for a group of friends of families.

Favourite go to Thai, always consistent and super quick

I had the pad Thai type dish with broccoli and beef. It was a good portion size. The waitress was nice and the food came quickly. This is exactly the type of dinner you want when you're away on business and need to get back to a hotel to work. Second time I've been in the last couple of months. As I mentioned in my last review, its heavy on the msg. The beef wasn't very tender but it was tasty.

After placing lots of orders in this restaurant arriving on time, today they were late. I called the restaurant and they were really nice and explained me why my order was late. Ten minutes later, the food arrived and it was delicious as always. We will continue ordering in this restaurant :)

Always a great place for fast tasty thai food

First time ordering from this restaurant and it was amazing. I ordered the chicken Pad Se Iew. Food was delivered early and was pipping hot. Definitely will be ordering from here again.

Great food, had three courses and all were delicious. Quick service too, would be ideal for a work lunch - all very reasonably priced too.

Up in London on business and a friend suggested meeting for supper so, rather than the rather boring hotel restaurant we found Thai Thai around the corner. We'd no idea what it was like but it was close. Helpful staff found us a nice table and gave us plenty of time to chat. We shared a dim sum starter and it was absolutely delicious. Followed by a really tasty and a good sized portion of Nasi Goreng each. Coffee to follow and then a pleasant surprise because the bill was considerably less than I'd expected. All in all, a great find and, if I'm ever around there again, I'll go back.

We had 2 curries and a pad Thai. Pad Thai was OK, but the curry...worst curry I've ever had! Very watery and extremely strong in clove and cinnamon. Won't order again

Was impressed how upon arriving they informed me of a discount as I booked with Opentable. I wasn't actually aware of this. Food was good and service was equally so.

Having three nights in Central London, provide the opportunity to see what we could get on our £30.00 a night dinner allowance bought us. I'm happy to announce that our the bill for 2 people came in at £66 for two starters, three mains, and two pints of Singh, and service! Pretty good for Central London. My hot and sour chicken soup, was very substantial and loaded with pieces of chicken, my sirloin curry was tasty without being too spicy, and sharing a spicy vermicelli with chicken had me leaving the restaurant feeling full. The only gripe being the price of the pint of Singh. I would certainly go again and would recommend it to family and friends.

Have to say the food is not as good as it used to be. I have to say i think it is overpriced for the area. the waiter was a little surly. Not at the top of my list.

Value for money, lovely duck no fatty content like in other restaurants. Yummy prawn Tempura, definitely be ordering again.

This restaurant is normally so good so I have no idea what happened by my rice was stale and my curry was half full in the container. Considering the curry was £7.95 with no rice, and it comes in small container anyway, having a half empty meal is not on. Complete waste of money.

I visited here when travelling with work as it was close by. the food was very good and good portion size, especially the starter (I had the squid). However, I was shocked when the bill came to find that my gin was nearly £9. In a fancy London bar I would maybe expect this but not in a restaurant where the food was so reasonably priced.

Met an old friend at the restaurant for lunch, after searching the whole of google but my oh my! This place is very nice, the staff are also very friendly and the food was sooo tasty. We ordered the spring rolls and chicken satay which tasted amazing and also had a chicken Thai green curry with rice. All very delicious and at a very affordable price! I will definitely be visiting again.

All are decent - the decor, table settings, service, utensils, glasses, presentation and bathroom but chicken on the sticks are too dry; sesame on bread is ok. We also ordered seafood and beef pad Thai. The beef is tasteless and not very tender. I hate to waste food but left most of them. SE Asian cuisine isn't my favorites - too sweet. I give it another try and remain the same -:(.

I visited with friends from work, for lunch. There is a lunch menu with enough choice. £6.95 for a chicken, beef or vegetable based main (£7.95 with prawn or duck added) additional starters £3. The service was very good and the food tasty. A great place to eat, especially if you work in the area. We spent £40.16 (Inc service) on starters, mains and drinks and there was food left over. Well worth a visit.

Food order was wrong, no apologies offered, after pointed out the same dish was brought out again with a bit of added rice on the side. View from the window is dreadful, neighbourhood is not nice. Won't recommend. One positive thing was good cocktails but not sure you'd come for it to the Thai place? Overall, wasted evening and money

A good and classic menu, pared down considerably from a few years ago. Nice ambience, welcoming and friendly service. Will certainly be revisiting soon.

Amazing very nice will order again

I booked a table here to celebrate my 23rd birthday on a Sunday evening with 25 guests. I initially booked for 20 people but a few more arrived and the staff we're happy to add additional tables which was really kind. The set menu's (A or B) we're very decent and very filling as they came with a lot of food, the majority of us enjoyed our food and the cocktails were sweet and strong. (Thai Green Curry was amazing!!!) The interior is beautiful, very warm and has a nice cultured feel, staff are very kind and always cheerful. Only downside was that I wasn't informed of the service charge when I made the booking. Other than that I had a great night and I'm happy I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday.

The restaurant is good with a good selection of Thai dishes reasonably priced. I had Pad Kee Mao and it was spicier than i expected. Though I was warned by the waitress. The service is good and the atmosphere is relaxing.

It's a good place if you're in the area and you're craving some Thai food. I would not recommend the beef options but the chicken ones/vegetarian is great. The service is quite quick and the portions are big. For starters I would always recommend the spring rolls - simply amazing. On the downside - they do not accept all major credit/debit cards so you might have to pay cash. If you're going for lunch, there is a lunch menu available which is cheap and can be quite good - depending on what you choose.

While the food is very good, I'm concerned that they do not give you the 20% discount as advertised, unless you ask about it. For people who don't pay much attention to their bills, it appears to be a dishonest practice. Maybe it was just my experience the 2 times I've been here that it happened.

I specified 9:30 delivery and they ended up showing up at my door at 8 PM. The food was tasteless and the pad see yew was overdone with pepper and lacked taste otherwise. Disappointed and annoyed that they delivered it an hour an a half early.

Today the pad thai was a bit over burnt but in general everything was delicious as usual.

Service for poor ordered drinks took 10 mins for the waiter to come back and tells us one of the drinks wasn't available . Twenty five mins later we got our starters but still no drinks had to remind the waiter again. Half way through the meal my wife ordered a glass of wine we had to remind them 15 minutes later that we hadn't got the drink. Apparently the waiter forgot.

The food used to be great now it's incredibly below par. Tom Yam soup was underwhelming, Singapore noodles were as spicy as a bowl of Rice Krispies and the cashew nut curry was lacking in spice and cashew nuts! I quizzed them on what was wrong with the dishes they said they could add some more chilli flakes in the kitchen but this is not how to cook Thai food - spices should be worked into a dish not just sprinkled on as last resort in the form of chilli flakes when sent back to the kitchen. I visited in February and like the previous couple of reviews below the restaurant was no more than +5c - the few people in the restaurant were wearing coats - this restaurant used to be busy - alas I think everyone is having the same experience. Charging almost £5 for bottled water is also not acceptable. I'm tempted to give this place 1 star but I have too many fond memories for what it used to be - I hope the place can improve before it's too late!

So so cold. Food was great but they knew it was a cold restaurant because when we told them they brought us an electric heater to have near our table. It made no difference & we had no discount on our bill. Absolutely freezing, ate in our coats, not worth it!

The most disappointing Pad Thai, not much flavour, a real let down.

Food was good. However it took over an hour to come. We also order curries and expected (like another Thai place) it would come with rice but it didn't. Very disappointed.

My husband and I had a long day travelling to the hotel very close to this restaurant and needed somewhere to eat. This was the closest place open so we went in, it was 45mins away from closing. We ordered the Pad Thai and a pot of tea each. The tea was lovely, though a little pricey. The Pad Thai was delicious for the price point, although we ordered it because it was one of the cheapest dishes. The atmosphere was ok, the staff were courteous, the service was quick and the Pad Thai was tasty.

This used to be our favourite Thai restaurant and have been many times. However this time, the restaurant was freezing cold to the point where all the diners were wearing coats and scarves. Nothing was done about this. Anyways we proceeded to order our all time favourites: steamed sea bass and Thai green curry (as well as trying other dishes) however they were not the same. It was so disappointing the once fresh and hot curry was now completely lack lustre.The whole visit was just a complete disappointment. Even the service was nothing compared to what it has been in the past. We won't be returning.

I went for a date meal here on a week night. The atmosphere, lighting and decor are very nice, they set the scene and create a very nice atmosphere, though the temperature in the restaurant was very cold we were drinking hot drinks the whole time. We ordered the set menu option which came with the thai thai starter i was glad that most things on the plate were hot, this was followed by a lovely chicken thai green curry, hot and tasty. The Duck in a tamarind sauce was the second, too crispy, almost dry for me. The Pad Thai Prawn stir fry noodles had tasty prawns but this dish was not to my taste, personally. The staff were fine, they could have smiled more but hey it was cold in there I don't blame them! All round an okay experience I would recommend the Thai green curry here.

After adding an extra 15 mins to the delivery time !!The food was still an hour late ,the restaurant didn't pick up the phone and never apologise for being late !!!!!!!!!!! So we waited total 2 hours for our food !!!

Very disappointing. I took a friend there for the halal food but wish I had gone elsewhere. The starters were disappointing, calamari drenched in thick batter and oil, mixed platter starter the same - the corn cakes were particularly oily. The mains were equally disappointing with the meat tasting past its best, we chose beef as the safe option but even beef couldn't disguise the lack of freshness in each dish. Staff were so very annoying, you either got no one at your table or three people at once. Also, we felt that we couldn't pause for conversation, staff would come over to take our food and we had to say no, we've paused to speak for a minute if that's ok! Needless to say we couldn't wait to get out and have pudding somewhere more pleasant!

It was actually pathetic. It was a waste of money today. I'm quite surprised at the quality cause they are usually great with their currys. Was very very disappointed 😔

Awful awful - the containers half full. The chicken satay tasteless rubbery and there was a stench. Complete put off. Never ever order the platter it's a rip off!
