Excellent Halal & Authentic Thai food, plenty of parking in front of the restaurant, and well-mannered staff.... Will come again here for sure.

Ordered first time, really disappointed with the food. Beef Pad Thai was extremely chewy and gristly, hardly any meat in the portion given. Very dry noodles, looked like it had just been tossed in a little soy sauce and sesame oil. No chilli oil given as an accompaniment. King prawn starters were in stodgy batter with a thin prawn inside, received 4 instead of 5. Also ordered a prawn soup and a beef dish which were also small portions. Overall the food is overpriced for portion sizes and did not taste authentic compared to many previous experiences I have had at Thai restaurants or takeaways. The manager has advised we seek a refund through the Just Eat App for the prawn dish due to the mistake in quantity sent. Awaiting refund.

Food portion is very small compare to the price. It’s not taste Thai although they prepared Thai food. Food quality is not recommendable. They mainly focus on serving take way order rather than dine in and took way long to prepare small orders! Not recommended!☹️🙁

Food portions were way to small .£14.50 for a seafood main and it was enough for my child only , four pieces of seafood and no veg . Disappointed

I was greeted upon entering this restaurant. I asked for a table for one person, which seemed to throw the person slightly, as he asked if I wanted a take away. Is it that unusual for someone to eat by themselves, I do it regularly. I ordered a starter offering a little bit of variety, wasn't impressed and wouldn't order that again. I ordered crispy duck with pancakes etc, it arrived and looked good and tasted good too. I ordered a green Thai curry with rice but had that as a takeaway, this was amazing, spicy, full of flavour and I would definitely order this again, one of the best I've had. All the food arrived well presented and hot. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, with dimmed lights, lots of pictures and art work dotted around the restaurant giving it an amazing atmosphere especially for the location. I would eat here again.

Came here for my sister’s birthday with my family. Loved the food and decently cheap. Servers were so welcoming, Namira was very friendly despite us coming in close to closing.

Considering its a Thai restaurant, there didn't appear to be any Thai staff working there,its a nice enough restaurant and the food was good.

Love the food here but the delivery takes way too long (waited 2 hours) Would recommend collection.

When you have visited Thailand on numerous occasions to be served with Thai food which does nor resemble authentic Thai food at all. Although it's was edible it was far from authentic ThIa food. Very disappointed will not return. Very clean and well presented venue but the food and service was disappointing and the atmosphere was none existent.

The papaya salad was perfect! The chicken curry and chicken pad Thai was pretty bad! The chicken in both was over cooked and chewy.

Second time we ate here. A true hidden gem. And the food is way better than all the other Thai restaurants around the area. Also much cheaper

We hosted some friends for dinner last night and thought we'd try a Thai Orchid takeaway after a neighbour raved about the food. Prompt Delivery, Piping Hot Food and Good Value for Money too. The Massaman curry is to die for. Empty plates all-round. Might try dining in next time as reviews are good! Thank you Thai Orchid - we will be back!!

We had arranged a long overdue meetup with friends and chose this restaurant as it was a central place between us. I'm so glad we did. My partner and I shared a lamb massaman and red pang Thai curry. Both were delicious. Lamb melted in my mouth, and the massaman sauce had wonderful deep yet soft flavours and the red curry was just beautifully spicy and delicious. A little gem. I really hope we visit again soon.

Great food as always. Had my usual Duck spring rolls and Red Thai curry which didn't disappoint! Husband went for Thai Orchid platter and Crispy duck, empty plates all round :)

Had a lovely, authentic Thai dinner at the restaurant. Great service, short wait for food, generous portions, dishes are incredibly tasty and not difficult to digest as in other places. Fresh vegetables and food made from scratch in store. What else? Delicious puddings and not expensive at all - great value. Will be back soon.

We spent £30 on a takeaway. The massamam curry was a disgrace and the prawn curry was supposed to be a dry curry. Both dishes had more liquid in than any actual food. Total rip off for what we paid. Shame as it used to be nice. I will not recommend to anyone it was that bad.

Just had a takeaway that cost £30. Chicken massamam curry that was with three cubed potatoes and chicken that clearly had been added that was from a pre packed all ready cooked chicken. Prawn dish was supposed to be a dry curry. Swimming in sauce and 5 prawns. Chicken and prawn dumplings with salad… carrot old and brown. Absolute rip off. Not sure if this place has changed hands… we were in here and had takeaways in august and October 2022 and was very much above standard. I’m all for trying to keep local places open. Been ripped off…. And will not order again

I ordered 5 dishes for delivery. Took more than an hour to arrive and 2 of the dishes were completely wrong. They managed to get the rice right. Well done! Particularly difficult as the dish that arrived for a non meat eater was chicken. Please consider reading the order next time someone orders. It won't be me.

Complete waste of time and money. First time we have tried food from this place and most definitely the last. Part of the meal ordered was a Thai Green Curry, well it was more like vegetables is green water, absolutely awful and it cost £10.95. The platter starter was 4 tiny items and a mushroom. I feel like calling the place up and asking if this is the usual quality they serve, if so, stay away. Having eaten at places like Thai Square in the City, I can honestly stay this is by far the worst example of Thai food, I have ever experienced

Without a doubt the most insulting portion size I have ever experienced. I’m not a big eater nor are my family but their “platter” is absolutely minuscule and isn’t even a platter it simply fits into another takeaway box, they put the sauces in the boxes to take up space. The food was of a nice quality except the green curry was incredibly watery and filled with courgettes for some reason? Had a total of four prawns in the entire “curry” but the portion size is incredibly insulting. Would not get it again. Initially I left them two stars as the food wasn’t too bad it was the quantity but after having such a watery curry filled with giant chunks of courgettes I had to edit this. Absolutely disgraceful just order Chinese or throw your money in the bin because that’s what your doing when you order from here.

Terrible portion size, a total of four prawns in a Thai green “curry” which was filled with water. So I can’t even call it that really. Oh also it had giant chunks of courgettes to fill it up. Oh and The Thai green curry with prawns was £10.95 and was a watery mess. Without a doubt the most insulting and poor excuse of a service I could envision. I’d be better of tossing my money into a bin. Just get something else. Or cook from home. Or go hungry. You won’t get any joy here.

The worst takeaway I have ever ordered. Watery Thai green curry that didn’t even look like it had coconut milk in. Sticky rice as hard as bricks. These were the particular highlights. Waiting for a refund.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Thai green curry, and beef stir fry were inedible and completely disgusting. No authentic flavour and no care in the food delivered. Thai green curry tasted like double cream, salt and chemicals. The chicken pieces in the curry were thin and the veg was inedible. I usually don’t leave negative reviews but I feel like I’ve just been robbed. The pad thai tasted like I was licking the greasy pan it was cooked in. Each appetiser in the starter platter was awful and tasted almost mouldy. This restaurant seems inauthentic and I urge you to save your money, I do not know how they can be sending this bad quality food to paying customers.

If you like tasteless microwave food, this is the ideal spot for you. Bland, over-priced rubbish, served by rude staff.

Had a takeaway, duck starter nice, main dishes very tasty, pad Thai lovely. Biggest let down was paid for 2 jasmine rice and that was not jasmine rice tasted like easy cook rice or microwave rice. I would have thought rice was a real basic that a Thai restaurant and take away should be able to get right.

Food was adequate. Tried there best to be authentic. Service was slow, even though we were only ones in there. Bit on the pricey side.

Food is average and quantities are not generous. The pad thai was okay but the egg fried rice barely had any egg in it and tasted like plain white rice. The fish cakes were not fishy at all and was basically bathed in oil. Not sure I’d order from here again.

Our first time of trying Thai food, had a set selection of various courses, on the whole food was really tasty, the starters was a bit cold hence the 4 stars, the staff were polite and helpful and food was reasonable price. Would go again.

Disappointed had a set meal. Starters relies on the satay sauce. . Mains were bland - expect big spicy flavours from Thai - beef was chewy, chicken anaemia. Hope chef decides to take it up a notch.

Visited last Saturday with a group of 6 friends. Booked a week in advance but definitely did not need to. There were only 4 tables all night including ours. We had thai crackers (nice big portion), chicken satay and fish cake for starters. Chicken satay spot on, fish cake lacking a little in flavour but for the sauce. For mains, we all enjoyed different curries. The massaman was particularly nice, although the lamb was tough. The duck thai red was good. The rest were good, but none were exceptional. Pad thai was good too. For dessert the taro ice cream was good (but missing the wafer). However, the mango sticky rice was a real disappointment - The rice was hard and the mango was from a can still swimming in syrup. They should remove it from the menu altogether (PS we had a lot of fun looking at the dessert menu - Spot the typos and mistakes to pass some time whilst waiting for food to arrive…). The service was exceptionally slow. We were there for 3.5 hours for 3 courses and the waiter seemed new and was very uncertain and did not know anything about the dishes (probably just needs some training) but the lady was very good. Fortunately, we were not in a rush and took it as an opportunity to catch up with friends and chatted away all night. But if you are in a rush or need to be somewhere, I suggest giving ample time or avoiding. It took around one hour per course to arrive. We enjoyed a quiet meal catching up with friends but all in all, saddens to say that we will not be returning. I highly recommend you up your game in a competitive restaurant industry if they want to do well. There are too many good restaurants in Essex/London to try and standards/expectations are high. Unfortunately average food and poor service no longer makes the cut these days. Good luck!

I’ve literally just finished the meal and I felt the need to leave this review quickly as It’s one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Restaurant is in a quiet location and wasn’t over busy. Staff were pleasant and very attentive. The food was 10/10 especially the lamb Masaman and the chicken Pangnan. Overall a excellent experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking authentic Thai inspired dishes. Thanks Thai orchid.

Very nice meal,and quite reasonable on price

We had a really nice evening meal at the Thai Orchid. Staff were attentive and we loved the great choice of dishes on the menu. Food was delicious and very tasty with fragrant dishes. One of the best thai food we have had in years. Don’t be put off by previous reviews, some people can be too picky and at the end of the day it’s up to personal taste. Located near Elm Park station, very easy to get to if you are not driving. Keep going guys, you are doing a great job.

I would not recommend anybody to go to this restaurant his green Terry was like like something you see in the babies nappy So please do not eat from this restaurant as this guy is aggressive route to his customers I don’t even have a type person in the kitchen when he makes food he uses YouTube video for recipe

Best Tom yum soup in hornchurch

I have always thought this restaurant Is over priced and portions small for what you have to pay so I was reluctant to order from them. I won’t be ordering again. Order 2 x chicken pad thai’s... plain and simple... £7.50 each, no problem with that - expect it came delivered 1 hour and 40mins after ordering.. Driver kept calling me, despite me giving clear written instructions (via just eat) so the food was chilled when it arrive but also oily and I genuinely Had forgotten I’d ordered chicken and thought I’d ordered a vegetable. I had one piece of chicken in the whole dish. It really wasn’t nice pad Thai. Measly slice of lemon.. an after thought. Yuk.

Had a meal here with friends last night. We have all had Thai in different restaurants before. We found the staff to be really nice and so was the food. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

I ordered from Thai Orchard due to the positive reviews online. Big mistake! This has to be the worse Thai food (if you can even callIt that) that I have ever had. The rice was very bland and over boiled; the soup had a strange bitter lasting taste to it with the driest chicken in existence; the noodles (also, they delivered the wrong noodle dish) were so over cooked they were literally sludge and couldn’t be removed from the container; and lastly the lamb massaman was very runny with tough bits of meat that were just rank. I’ve had some questionable meals over the years but this has been one of those rare occasions for me where I had to actually throw the food away. What an absolute waste!

I absolutely love the food here. The vegetable Pad Thai is to die for: fresh, crunchy and delicious ; as are all the dishes we've had here. On two occasions my husband and I have been on route to Hornchurch for a night out, but have stopped to eat here instead! Thai Orchid has become our favourite restaurant. My only worry is that some evenings it's been short on customers- probably due to it's location.

Very local but took a year before we visited this restaurant. We had a set 3 course meal with shared platter for starters. Main was Prawn Pad Thai, chicken thai green curry with jasmine rice, beef, vegetables and coconut ice cream for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. We have been to Thailand and loved their cuisine. This was very authentic and we will be back or will be ordering a takeaway again. Restaurant was nice, background music and staff made for a pleasant experience.

I’ve passed this restaurant for about a year and never tried it but so glad I did tonight and will definitely be a regular. Enjoy every course, I have nothing bad to say about any of it.

Lovely food but rice was a bit overcooked

Popped in for a meal with my wife and it was really nice. Been here 3 times now and it's always good. Shame there weren't many people in there, maybe because of the location, lets hope it doesn't close.

One of our favourite places in Elm Park. Food always delicious and lovely staff. We also like to get food deliveries from them, from time to time. Never disappointing.

I have lived in Thailand and visited since I was 6 years old. Experienced great Thai food in restaurants and takeaways in London but this was AWFUL. The coconut rice was so sloppy it was like dessert rice without coconut. The special rice again was over cooked and sloppy, taste like something you would make at home that went wrong. The red curry was probably the best. Steamed dumplings were tasteless. So disappointed. Expensive, crap, food.

We decided to go on a local date night, this restraunt was perfect.!! The food was amazing so so delicious. The guy helped us to decide what to have and his recommendations were perfect. The atmosphere was lovely, lovely music playing in the background. We can’t wait to go back. Thank you!

This restaurant has recently opened, and what a lovely place to relax and eat fresh good quality food. The staff are lovely and make you feel so welcome. I personally think it is the best Thai food I have had. Worth a visit and you won't be disappointed. I wish the owners all the success for the future

Not the first time I've eaten here and wont be the last! Food is full of lovely flavours and good portion sizes. Atmosphere is also great too with such lovely staff. Definitely recommend.

Superb food and great service. I'd suggest you give the weekend lunch special a try, it's a great deal, and I highly recommend the beef krapow from it. The flavours are all there, especially my favourite blend of the spicy chili, fresh mint and the tangy lime in the laab gai. The staff are kind and helpful. I'm so happy that a good Thai place with an excellent selection of tasty dishes is being run right around the corner.

Ordered thai green which isn't too spicy and a thai red which is spicy. However the thai green came out Spicer than the thai red to which my husband couldn't eat his food. When we mentioned it we were told maybe they had changed the recipe. To be honest I think that shouldve of been said to us before we ordered. We also ordered thai noodles were mushy and quite unpleasant. I would never eat at this restaurant again.

Having recently eaten (and been impressed) at the newly opened Thai Orchid restaurant, I thought I’d give their takeaway services a go. I find that Friday night takeaways can sometimes be hit or miss however I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. Food arrived piping hot and the same superb quality you receive in their restaurant was delivered and on time too! Can’t fault them. Will be returning again and again! P.s The massamun is to die for!

If you love Thai food, this is the restaurant for you. I've had both the red and green Thai curries and both are very tasty, just the right amount of spice with a generous portion of meat. You can tell everything is made from fresh ingredients by a cook who really cares about the food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure you have a special evening. The take away service was also excellent. All food arrived hot and on time. Well done Thai Orchid. Will definitely be seeing you again soon and recommending to friends and colleagues.

I was looking forward to my Thai food and I was so happy I chose this Thai restaurant. There was lots of meat and vegetables in my sauce and the food was deeply delicious. I absolutely loved it. Now I am wondering, how many times a week is too much? I Iove my food and I really loved this food.

I have visited with 3 other friends on sunday. Food was fantastic and fresh. We love the atmosphere and friendly service from stuff. Highly recommended if you like Thai food. We definitely visit again.

Been to many Thai restaurants and this is one of my worst experiences... waited over an hour for food, sent starters back... mains warm not hot.. no real taste, and just so rushed and stressful in there. No more visits for me!!!

Visited the Thai Orchid on Monday evening for a quick bite. Was very surprised to see the restaurant completely empty, although it was still early about 7pm. We were greeted straight away by very friendly staff and shown to a table. We had heard many people comment on how good this restaurant was and we were not disappointed. From the ice cold glass of wine and beer to the starters and mains, the food was lovely. We ordered the platter to start and the tempura prawns. Both dishes were really tasty my only criticism is the tempura prawns weren't the same light tempura batter you usually get at a Thai restaurant, they were more crunchy batter, but me being picky they were still lovely to eat. I had my usual at Thai restaurants of the Thai Red Curry, it was fresh and really lovely albeit it is quite spicy so, if your not used to a little spice, maybe leave this one, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would have it again. My Husband had the Pad Thai and even though he became stuffed, he just kept going back for more. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and wouldn't hesitate to return and with it being only 5 minutes up the road in the car, it's even better.

Recommended by wife and was not disappointed. Simple ambiance lovely and friendly staff a good array of choices on the menu that don’t punch a hole in your pocket. You need to try the coconut pancake, well recommended. Parking and accessibility also very simple and convenient

What a fabulous evening! Food is absolutely amazing- haven’t tasted food this good since we were last in Thailand- such a lovely place- very friendly, great staff and extremely reasonable! What’s not to like! Can’t wait to go again! 4 of us went and all thoroughly enjoyed all the food- if u like Thai food this is a must!

Apart from the delicious food and the variety of drinks, we were served by one of the owners himself, Nayan, and also by Leo, both of them very attentive and friendly and always ready to help and make suggestions to us.

We went here last week for dinner. This was our first time here. The restaurant was very busy - good sign. The food was absolutely great. The manager was very apologetic about the time we had waited and explained that one of their waiting staff had not turned up for their shift - I said that where they were lacking in numbers they more than made up for it with enthusiasm and professionalism. Would definitely recommend and will be going back - think this will be my venue choice for take away in future.

We visited here on a whim one early eve & were pleasantly surprised. The food portions were huge & the dishes very tasty. A few improvements would make it five stars-Would’ve liked to had complimentary prawn crackers whilst we waited for our starters. The sticky rice was brought out in a bowl so was rock hard & my prosecco was cava. Also the restaurant was a little cold but having said this I would definitely return due to food being lovely & such a large menu choice.

This little restaurant was amazing, staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, and the food was so authentic - took me straight back to my travelling days. Fantastic news for Elm Park residents ! Cant wait to go back.

My 1st visit to the Thai Orchid in Elm Park. I will definitely be going back. Will also make sure I order a takeaway over the next week. The food was very good. Been to the Thai restaurants in Hornchurch and in my opinion the food here is far better than those in Hornchurch. Service was friendly, not rushed and in pleasant surroundings. Only reason I have not given it 5 stars is that it was chilly around our legs. The lady sitting next to us had her coat wrapped around her legs. In summary great food and service, well worth a visit.

We have been to this restaurant for a sit down meal 4 times and not been disappointed! The food is fresh with good quality ingredients. The service is extremely good advising on times if there is a short delay. They cannot do enough for you. This will be a restaurant we will use on a regular basis with friends and family

Thought we'd try local for a change and were absolutely delighted. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. the food was amazing, with such a variety I found it hard to choose, still there will be another time to do that.Even though we were the last there , we were not made to rush our drinks so they could close. The décor was clean, tasteful and not too OTT. We will be going there again very soon and will book our group Christmas celebration there too. Great job Thai Orchid, can't wait to come back and try more from the menu

Went for daughter's birthday. Really nice cozy interior and lovely food - cooked just right with good quality ingredient. Staff were friendly and not overbearing. Only minus was Mango sticky rice pudding - said fresh Mango, however it was clearly from a can.
